Hi everybody,
Today I noticed that Google Fit is available for Galaxy Watch 4!
If you go to the store on your watch you will find Google Fit. I installed it and it works on the watch!
Do you also have it and if so: what do you prefer Samsung Health or Google Fit?

Google fit for Watch 4 has been available for many months .
I had Google Fit ( Watch 4 ) installed , as well as Google Fit for Phone .
I used a 3rd party app , Health Sync app , to sync my data (Samsung health ,Google Fit and Polar .)
Health Sync app indicated that i had to uninstall ,Google fit on watch, as it was causing errors / duplication of my daily data ,
So my setup is on Watch 4 is Samsung Health ,when i go for my daily jog i also wear a Polar M Vantage M400 watch with chest strap .
I also found that in my daily exercises , my Hart Rate readings ( the Samsung Watch 4 , as well as all my previous Samsung watches ) to be , not as reliable / consistent with its readings ,
If i compare my Polar watch ,with chest strap ( 99 % accuracy , hart rate readings) to all my previous Samsung Watches and my Watch 4 ,i found that when you really start to " exercise" ( increasing your pace /sprinting etc , the Watch 4 was slow to adjust / way off ,with its Hart Rate readings sometimes ,by at least 20 bpm .
Above reason is why i sync all my data with 3rd party app to avoid duplication
good luck

Its pretty stupid that in S health are so many sports to choose from, but in the watch you have almost only excercizes that are strange to do with a gps tracking watch, pilates or other funny things that watch will not calculate correctly.
I mean where the f... is alpine skiing programm or snowbording or rollerskating, football etc. there is only cykling, running and walking to use gps with.
Why i cant synchronise my sports that i choose in S health app with S health app in the watch, i dont need pilates pushaps and the rest of this kind.
Anybody knows how to use the watch with skiing etc?

Hi, I am very curious as well. It frustrates the hell out of me that I can't use S Health for all activities I do and there are many useless ones instead. Anybody can help? How logical to me. Obviously not for Samsung.
You cant even start activity in the phone and see it on the watch, just like in android smartwatches on endemondo etc.
I will not wait until sombody will write an sports app, specially that i dont want 3rd party app and nowbody knows if there will be any first party sports app other than shealth with pilates, joga, pushups and other...
Because of that I have returned gear to the shop.
For notifications and watchfaces I dont need gear s3 with GPS. Also in my country there is no lte frontier version and no samsung pay.
I think i will buy Huawei Watch and use endemondo or other activity app connected to my phone.
I miss alpine skiing in the S-Health app on the S3 as well. But I hope that Samsung will add these activities in the nearer future. For the meantime I have installed Rossignol Ski Pursuit. I wll see next week, how it works in real life.
I have found Ski pursuit too, but what with other sports, i dont belive Samsung will add more in watch S health, couse gear fit 2 with GPS is almoust 6 months old and yet dont have many sports too...
I have had Fenix 3, wasnt afraid to use it everywhere, but gear s3 with that delicate bezel on slalom ski.
I will buy Huawei now, for superb price.
I will come back to gear s3 if samsung will add different sports and more first party apps
What are the real differences between the Fit2 and Fit2 Pro? They seem like the same hardware and I thought I read somewhere that a software update allows the Fit2 to use offline Spotify playlists (this is a key selling point for me as I would use this often). If that's the case, besides being able to swim with the Fit2 Pro, what are the other upgrades?
Thanks.
GPS usable on Pro, not on Fit2. GPS is the biggest bug Sam cannot fix by firmware on Fit 2
The biggest difference i can seem to find is the "Gear Fit Manager" app doesn't work with the Fit 2 Pro. They have a a new app called "Samsung Gear Manager" which as far as I can tell, has no "Connected apps" section, and so third party apps that worked on the Gear Fit 2 do not seem to be installable on the Gear Fit 2 Pro.

Can't second that.
GPS works fine on Gear Fit2. I've ben running a few times now with the watch alone and tracking works properly. It even shows a small map of your track in the summery afterwards.
The Gear Manager does work with the Gear Fit2 but requires the Gear Fit2 Plugin, which is a separate app (both available on Google Play). You may also need the "Samsung Accessory Service"-App if you want to connect to a non Samsung device. If you want to sync your tracked data to your phone, you need the "Samsung Health"-App too.
If your device is "not supported" you have to get the Gear Manager Apps from ApkMirror or something like that.
It works fine on my LG G2.
The real difference seems to be the water proofing.
Gear Fit is IP68 certified, whereas Gear Fit2 Pro is IP6X certified and comes with some additional partner-apps preinstalled, which grant you free (for the first year) acces to some services.
I had gf2 for 8 months, for new year I got gf2 pro...it is same device with swimming possibilities and better strap.
Had no issues with gps on basic gf2 and I had more than 50 running sessions. Only slow sync time endomondo - > s-health

I got my fit2 pro now. I did some comparison with my ex fit2. Again I can say that: GPS on fit2 Pro is much better than Fit2, faster lock up - much more accuracy. That's why I said: usable on Fit2 Pro
The sensors to measure stairs also much more accuracy

The main difference between Gear fit 2 and Gear fit 2 pro that I can see to find is the gear fit manager app does not work with the Fit 2 pro. They have a new app that is known as Samsung gear manager.
Norton Support
Does anyone use endomondo for running on gf2 pro? Latest version installed, and today I couldn't lock on GPS...icon blink all time and no lock. I did 6.1km run where I'm getting 6.7km before with my old gf2. History in endomondo doesn't show any map from todays run, just data
Samsung health woark great with gf2pro and with gps I have no problems, fix cought in couple of seconds, but I like endomondo more.

Waterproof, can use it for swimming tracking, it's got a Speedo app

This is my experience with ,Google Assistant on my Galaxy watch 4 .
Since i installed Google Assistant
from day one i had hardly seen/found
Google Assistant ,draining my watch battery .
I have Hey Google ,enabled 24/7 and it overall ,works fine a few hiccups here and there .
Here ,is a few screenshots of my Watch usage (in standby ,always listening Hey Google ,enabled)
After reading numerous post about GA on watch draining i also wanted to post my positive side of story ...
Am i just fortunate /lucky ....?
GA hardly features ,in list .
Just to clarify ,
i do accept that others users
do have noticeable battery drain form
G A ...
However this is my experience so far
with G A .

Just to add to my post above .
Been thinking (on my morning run )what possible reasons could be behind ,some of the excessive battery drain, by GA . some users are experiencing .
One of the reasons could be, that a lot of
users on XDA and Reddit ,installed
the "mod versions " of Google Assistant
as a system app, on their watches .
I know this ,as i read the numerous post
on the relevant threads (XDA and Reddit )
I also sideloaded the mod version of GA ,on my watch ,but just a few days before official version of GA ,i uninstalled the mod version
I then did a factory reset on my watch, as i had to , pair it with my upgraded phone .
Just wondering now ,
how many users ,that now have battery drain ,never uninstalled the mod version of GA and just installed
official GA over it .....or otherwise
did uninstalled , mod version of GA ....."(remember its now a system app )
and then installed official GA.
Thus not doing a factory reset on watch, incase something (system app )got corrupted ,with the uninstalling process .?
I know it's not necessary to do factory reset, but if you learnt "lessons from the past" (like me )
...peace of mind ....plays a big part in doing this .
i doubt if many users ,would admit
to doing this .(as described above )
Further ,i have to add ...yes ....
I know, there could be other reasons ,also .
Good luck
I have definitely noticed battery draining way faster after the last update and Google assistant integration. It's worth mentioning though that it is not Google assistant per se draining the battery, however I now finish the day with abt 30%, whereas before I had abt 55-60%.
I also had similar difficulties with assistant but i had installed the modded version. I also did a factory reset and now all works as it should. GA uses about 3% with hey, google always on.
Hi,
I just bought a Galaxy Watch 5 Pro to replacing my Fossil Gen 5.
With the Fossil, I had a mesurement of my heart beats in background, during all the day.
I was possible to see the curve in Google Fit on my phone.
But since I've my Galaxy Watch, Google Fit don't mesure my heart in background.
Samsung Health does this, but I have all my history in Google Fit.
With Google Fit, now, I only can make manual mesurement.
Is it any solution/setup to solve this?
I've been using Health Sync (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.appyhapps.healthsync) for a year now with Galaxy Watch 4 and I'm super happy. It's a paid app but we'll worth it if you want all data in Google Fit. It can sync everything from Samsung Health to Google Fit.
I've also been waiting for Google Fit to support the Health Platform which would do "native" synching. It should come at some point but you never know.
Install Google fit on your watch from play store, it should work right out of the box
In this case, we have to use Health Sync to have all the informations.
Thanks for the solution.

Yesterday I noticed an article about Google Fit Connect being now supported: https://9to5google.com/2022/10/10/google-fit-health-connect/
I tried to install it on my phone and now Samsung Health and Google Fit sync even without Health Sync. At first, Samsung Health didn't seem to write heart rate data to Fit Connect but after updating Samsung Health and changing watch to measure continuously, it now syncs even heart rate data. I believe it was just the Samsung Health update that was needed but need to test it.

Apparently the current version of Samsung Health doesn't write steps or exercise data to Fit Health Connect. Let's see if they can fix it soon.
Its still buggy, Samsung abruptly stopped recording to health connect, Health sync app is still the best option until google and Samsung stabilizes it
Can confirm Health Connect now works with Samsung Health and Google Fit, however as others have said, workouts from Samsung Health don't get transferred over to Google Fit (yet). Let's hope this gets expanded on soon.
I installed health Connect but doesn't write steps from Samsung Health to Google Fit!
What can be done?
I asked Samsung too
You have to accept lots of permissions on your phone and on your watch.
It could be the cause.
I checked all possible permissions from Google Fit, Samsung Health, Health Connect.
Still no steps writing from SH to GF.
Another idea?
Health Connect says i need screen lock, i do have that and try to change it but no go.

With Blood Pressure to work, you have to install Samsung Health Monitor app ( SAMSUNG app store ).
If this Samsung Health Monitor does not show up for you (in Samsung app store) its most likely that your Region is not supported.
Please note
You have to find out if your Region is supported by Samsung ,for this function to work .?
You also have to calibrate the watch via this Samsung Health Monitor app with a Blood Pressure machine/monitor .It is actually very straight forward .
Just follow prompts on the relevant app .
In Watch face studio there should be 3 or so examples
I had to learn via "trail and error "
Good luck
