Looking for android APP which turns on/off mobile data (for Samsung Galaxy XCover key) - General Topics

Hello,
My phone, Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 Pro (Android 13, One UI 5) comes with feature that allows me to customize what happens when i press/hold one of its extra buttons.
I figured it would be nice to make it that i can toggle mobile data (or maybe wifi) with them as I do it a lot to save battery life. But here is the thing: i'm only allowed to assign APPs to these buttons, not specific phone functions.
So my question is, do you know any simple android APPs which will simply turn on and off mobile data or WIFI of the phone when launched and then shut down automatically? So it just performs function and then It's gone so i dont have to do anything.

Just install macrodroid
it is best for automation

[APP] Be(ta|tter)Dazzle configurable switcher widget - BETA1

I was always looking for a single place to control all power hungry devices on my Android device, something like standard "Power Control" widget, but with extra capabilities. I was looking for ways to control mobile data and phone radio, in particular. Many devs have released apps that are capable of controlling these functions, but so far I have not found an open source all-in-one widget. Then I decided to step in and enhance the excellent configuration controller widget -- Dazzle.
New features:
Quick mobile data control (no persistent storage!)
Phone radio power on/off
GPS on/off with indicator.
Known issues:
Mobile data icon
System mobile data settings are not changed, the radio mobile data state is just turned on or off. If you toggle the radio state or reboot the phone the mobile data will be turned on automatically.
Mobile data indicator has no "transition" state yet.
Sometimes mobile data switch do nothing, e.g. when you have Wi-Fi on. It's by design, we just need a better indication for such state.
Possible enhancements, if people are interested: persistent mobile data state, remember the chosen state and restore it after reboot or radio power toggle.
Unfortunately Ian has no time to integrate the change right now, so I am releasing this beta version to gather some feedback. Since I have no intention to actually fork the project, eventually all functionality will be integrated in the Dazzle project. Let me know if you would like to preview the source code.

Android 2.3 mobile data toggle

Mods: if my searching ability failed feel free to lock this but...
I have not been able to find a working mobile data toggle [ on/off ] for Gingerbread.
I used to use juice defender which I highly recommend as it worked wonders for my battery life. I have used a couple AOSP gingerbread roms in the last while and i noticed JD wouldn't enable for mobile data.
I have looked far and wide for either a widget, a scheduler just something that I can use without jumping into system settings; to easily turn on/off my mobile data and save battery life.
If anyone has any insight as to why this is such a problem for 2.3 i would love to know or if there is a known solution i haven't been able to find that would be great too.
Thanks
The only thing that I found to work was the Power Control widget. Add the Mobile Data icon and it'll work. Oddly though, the Power Control Plus (paid) one doesn't work very well and it gives you two options to enable or disable...which don't work.
How to toggle ?
Hi guys any update on this.. recently got a galaxy S5360 (android 2.3.6)
I don't see the GPRS toggle in the pull down menu. Is there a work around ?

[Q] Home automation project based on old android tablet Galaxy tab 10.1 - help

I've started my new (short term hopefully) project, trying to to some home automation controller / media player panel based on my old galaxy tab 10.1 with CM 10.2
first of all any chance to change a display time out to none without any external application ?
I wish the device will stay ON all the time or even better to make the screen start and stop at the time (maybe tasker ? but first I need to turn off the system timeout)
second thing - trying to find some very simple launcher application with possibilities to set up few (6-8) large buttons on the screen to start some of my predefined apps / no app drawer access from desktop - thinking about a car home ultra but without the navigation / location and media buttons
but maybe there is something better ?
third thing - screen saver - is there any screensaver app in the meaning like a PC screensaver - I would like it to show up automatically after some period of time of inactivity - displaying photos from the local folder and gone as fast as the screen will by touched - thinking about tasker again but have no idea is that possible there so will need to find out first, any ideas ?
any help really appreciate
thanks

7-Bugs
1-Installation
you gonna need a windows PC , USB cable and make sure to download the latest ODIN version, All the links are available in the 2nd post

4-enter the download mode by holding the power button+home button+volume down key

Installation FAQ
1- will the installation affect the device warranty? no it won't ,cs it is

Yes you can install it whatever custom ROM you have.
Installation Video
2-Performance
-For the first time on Samsung devices you can choose the performance profile you need -There are 4 profiles (normal which is the
default mode, Game,entertainment,and high performance)
-every profile has a different settings to give you the best performance according to your needs but you can modify those settings if you want. -Some of you will ask me if I noticed any changes between the 4 modes modes, and I'm gonna answer your question by doing a simple test
-I've done a benchmarking test using antutu APP While normal mode is active and the score is 90000
-Then I've done the same test while performance mode is Active and the score 130000 which is almost the same like MM
-If you want better performance then choose the performance mode but keep in mind that this will affect your battery life
-According to my experience while using the device in normal mode that everything running flawlessly and the device is very
responsive.
-RAM management is great , you can run more than 5 heavy APPs in the background and switch between them very fast and you also still able to run
more APPs at the same speed regardless how much RAM space you have.
3-Sensors and GPS
Sensors and GPS antenna are very important to your device , I've done sensors test and all the sensors responded very well
(accelerometer , Gyroscope, light sensor, Proximity sensor, etc) and I've never experienced any bugged sensors in the past 7 days
GPS antenna is perfect , It caches a 3D fix while indoor and the accuracy is very very good for navigation.
4-Battery Life
Battery life still the same like MM for me but keep in mind that the battery usage vary from user to another .
while using the device in Normal mode(Making calls, Playing light games, using Common APPs like what's APP telegram and Chrome) Over WIFI, I've got 24 hours on battery and more than 5 hours SOT which is almost the same for me on MM .
While using the device in performance mode (location enabled, using Google MAPs for navigation,Making voice calls over 2 hours) I've got 17 Hours on battery and 4 hours SOT which is also the same for me on MM while heavy usage.
The good part in Nougat that you have the ability to change the screen resolution and Performance Mode to get more battery life.
Power saving mode is available with 2 options
1-Medium power saving mode
2-Maximum power saving mode which is the same like UPSM but with a different user interface.
5-Gaming performance
Gaming performance is awesome as it was in MM ,You still have game launcher and you can adjust gaming performance settings as you used to do before. Game tools have the same features but in this version you can see the recent APPs on the right side of the screen
I've tested some high graphic games (Asphalt 8,NFS most wanted,Asphalt Xtreme )and all of them running nicely no lags or stutters or slow responses You can get the best gaming experience by activating Game Mode , which is completely new feature in Android Nougat.

Yeah but it cannot be done through ODIN
For people stuck on beta1 (those which are not registered to beta program and flashed by odin). I found solution for not working facebook app. Downloaded version 99.X.X.X from apk mirror. Those versions working fine. Only remember untick autoupdate in google play for facebook app.

Ultra power save button with custom ROM's

Hi
Is anybody able to use Ultra Power Saver button feature of Lenovo P2 with custom ROM's (lineage os or some other)?
Any way to install this feature into them?

I guess this button triggers a feature that is developed by Lenovo specifically for the P2. I guess having that in lineage and other custom work would require coding such a function. Which does not seem impossible.
I tried to guess what this feature does, it seems to mainly stop any running app, Bluetooth, wifi, data, nfc, put the phone in Extreme power saver mode and show a black screen with big numbers and a set of icons to a limited number of applications like the phone and other things I cannot remember. Leaving the "Ultra Power Saver" state restores Bluetooth, wifi, data, nfc if they were enabled.
I guess that you'd need to have support for this button in lineage (maybe it is the case for kernels that are based on stock kernel) and somehow associate this button to this feature, but I don't know Android well enough to know how one would do that. It would be not essential but nice to have as far as I'm concerned. I would also like to be able to use this button for other things.
In case I run into a situation in which I need to save power to such extents, I would turn wifi, bluetooth, data, nfc off, put the phone in extreme power saver mode and force close apps that are likely running in the background (instant messaging, mails, file / contact syncing / backup, integration with computers,…).
