problem Restore android backup in twrp recovery - Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2

Hi
What is the problem

maybe "leaked string" problem. make a copy of your data.ext4.win files and try these tools
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...nor-9-update-11-02-2018.3739568/post-75401692
or extract with gnu tar instead
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-full-restore-from-twrp.3508173/post-86863809

what TWRP do you use? 3.6.1 or 3.0.2?
my TWRP has this backup issue because it's slightly modified to fit. Please use an other twrp version if you use 3.6.1 for backup and restoring.

3.0.2

[Q] Package Nandroid as update.zip

can a nandroid backup be packaged as an update.zip and if so whats the best way to do it
am i right that you can
extract data.img and system.img and then do what you need to their
then zip up the package
then zign it
but then i think i would be missign boot.img or is that not needed
Its simple enouph just to use rom manager and let it do all the work
I've same problem.
I have a samsung galaxy gio gt5660 and rom manager don't recognize unofficial 5.0.2.6 cwm recovery for this phone. So I can not use rom manager.
I have a nandroid backup with these files: boot.img - cache.rfs.tar - data.rfs.tar - nandroid.md5 -recovery.img - sd-ext.ext2.tar - system.rfs.tar and I'd want to create an update zip for flashing with cwm.
Any help will be appreciated, thanks

[ROM] Stock SM-T210R 4.1.2 JellyBean TWRP flash

This is the official stock 4.1.2 ROM for the SM-T210R. Only requirement is to have a custom recovery (TWRP was used, but others might be compatible).
The provided folder and its files need to be extracted using 7zip (or supportable extractor) to the tab's SD card in the "/TWRP/Backups/<device serial>" folder. (create a backup from the recovery if you need to make the folder)
(DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP): Before flashing, one needs to either perform a factory reset, or preferably wipe the "data," "cache," and "dalvik-cache" from inside the recovery before "restoring".
{DO NOT WIPE YOUR "EFS" PARTITION!!}
If having problems with the KitKat update, try: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...-stock-sm-t210r-4-1-2-jellybean-odin-t2958676
It's actually better to use because it restores EVRYTHING, the TWRP flash doesn't.
The 4.4.2 Stock ROM is available here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-3/general/tab-3-7-0-sm-t210-r-stock-4-4-2-kitkat-t2930075

In the case of a OnePlus One, this was a stock 4.4.4 ROM. If you're using Windows, you can use the official NETHUNTER WINDOWS INSTALLER, which selects the correct image to download based on your device model.

I can confirm that this also works on OnePlus One! In my case these are the steps I followed (for your own sake, please read all steps before doing any of them):
Start from having a Stock CM12.0S Lollipop ROM installed.
If wasn't done previously: Backup + Unlock + Root + Backup EFS.
Install MultiROM and get it running according to one of the guides linked-to from the Play store page of MultiROM. Make sure you select the correct kernel version 5.0.x!!!! I wasn't paying attention and lost both of my WiFi and cellular connections after reboot and had to flash a bunch of stock ROMs randomly to fix it.
Perform a nandroid backup and copy it to your computer.
Install NetHunter using the Windows tool (may require manually flashing the kali_linux_nethunter_1.xx_...zip at the end) (see link at the top).
Install MultiROM again, this time on NetHunter, selecting the proper kernel (4.4.x).
Go to the MultiROM TWRP and:
Perform a nandroid backup as a precaution.
Transfer the first nandroid backup to device and add it as a ROM "from backup".
Swap the main ROM (which is currently NH) with the newly restored backup (Lollipop).
Boot into Lollipop and run MultiROM again, going through the setup steps again (this is needed so you could boot into NH. If you skip this step you will get a message when attempting to boot into NH that the kernel needs patching).
That's it!
Finally got NH to dual boot on my N5 CM12.1 nightly by installing multirom with CM12.1 kernel, search and download aosp_hammerhead-ota-eng.proxuser-14-11-2013 zip to your SD, flash via modded multirom twrp: advanced, multirom, add zip and reboot. Be quick and choose to boot into the Kitkat ROM. Reboot again but into recovery and flash SU to Kitkat ROM via advanced, list roms, choose the Kitkat rom, flash zip. Reboot once more and flash NetHunter Kitkat zip on top of the Kitkat rom you just flashed and rooted with SU via Advanced, multirom, list ROMs, choose Kitkat rom, flash zip. Optional: Reboot into recovery, go to advanced, multirom, list roms and rename it to whatever you want e.g. NetHunter. Reboot, Enjoy!
Tried several stock lollipop ROMs with NetHunter for lollipop to no avail. This is the only method I found that worked...

[Q] Updating PhilZ Touch Recovery

Hi,
I am running PAC-ROM | All-in-One-ROM [4.3 / 4.2.2 ] on my 5110 with Philz Touch 5.03.7 (Base version 6.0.3.2) but want to install the following Rom:
[P51xx][5.x] CyanogenMod (CM12 / CM 12.1).
But I believe I need to update my Recovery to install a LP rom.
I have gone through the [GT-P51XX] TWRP | PhilZ Touch | CWM Thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548476) to try to understand what I need to do but I am still unsure of exactly what I need to do.
I've located the files for the new recovery from (https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=25711) but I am unsure whether I flash the md5 file or the Tar file (or both)? Also, can I flash this new recovery from the Recovery I have currently got.
Any help with this would be appreciated as I haven't messed about with ROMs for over a year so I am a bit (a lot) rusty at the moment.
Thanks in advance
TWRP recovery is better and more intuitive.
Grab the latest zip file, not tar.md5 file, from here :
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=25708
and flash it directly from your PhilZ recovery.
Cool, cheers. Do I need to factory reset device before flashing that?
Thanks again
Just follow the OP instructions :
Installation
First time installing CyanogenMod to your Galaxy Tab 2, or coming from another ROM:
Read the official wiki
Copy GApps and CM-Rom ZIPs to your internal SDCard
Boot into Recovery
wipe data factory reset
wipe cache
wipe dalvic cache
format system
Flash CM-Rom ZIP from internal SDCard
Flash GApps zip from internal SDCard
Reboot
Don't restore system data using Titanium Backup!
Restoring Apps + Data might cause problems and is not recommended, avoid it if possible!

I was ok with the rom instructions, I couldn't find any instructions about flashing the recovery.
I just went for it so all sorted now, thanks for help.

Huawei Y7 Prime 2018 (LDN-L21) stock rom TWRP backup

I made TWRP backup of the most possible partitions if someone need it.
Backup of Stock ROM LDN-L21C432B139 (8.0.0.139)
Also made partition images of stock via DD command via ADB, or FF-ddumper app.
Since /data is encrypted, can not be backed up in current TWRP.
Data EMMC image (with internal sd) can be backed up via TWRP via DD/TWRP to SD/PC/USB-OTG with filesize about 25 GB.
TWRP with all partitions (no FBE nor MTP): https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=1395089523397910855
Stock ramdisk: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603879149
Stock recovery_ramdisk: https://mega.nz/#!9gAnjCoR!oaC3sCYdgbiia6RK6BemO0MxydhEAaJjSnkWLCS5kII

Images backup folder: http://https://mega.nz/#F!lgYATKIY!dOXy5bmwoBzIGT9qjko96A
Backup of Stock ROM LDN-L21C432B142 (8.0.0.142)
Before any changes, please backup your /system, /vendor, /kernel, /ramdisk, /recovery_ramdisk for just in case in twrp.
For /data backup online copying of files or Migrate app or Titanium BackUp or something else method.
Extracted from update.app: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=291939
Changes from original: Permissive /Kernel by @EzzUsesAndroid (repacked to 142), Magisk-patched /Ramdisk, Custom recovery, Removed DM-Verify + FileEncryption from /Vendor, Replaced bootanimation to walking fingers in /Product.
After restore, reboot to RECOVERY, not to system, and Data have to be formated! <--- This will remove encryption and set partition to encryptable=footer, so in the future you can backup and /Data (without internal storage). Since it is encryptable, Magisk Manager will shows turned on "Forced encryption" but it is not. You can encrypt it later (but I don't know how).
TWRP backup folder of main partitions: https://mega.nz/#F!ZgQxlSDD!s4eAEun2bC4MrIRL3mcgRA
If you want to keep encryption, flash this, after restore, (before reboot to twrp), but DO NOT format /data, just wipe.
If you just want to remove encryption for any rom, flash this, after restore, before reboot to twrp and format /data.
If you wipe/format data to remove encryption or use custom rom, flash /data/hm_init backup via TWRP: mega.nz
SE Linux permissive kernel by Ezz, needed for custom roms: this post
I have a question, when I want to go back to stock rom (currently running AOSP 9.0 GSI), do I only need to restore the two system.ext4 in the TWRP backup folder?

Yes - you had to restore system.ext4 (splitted in 2 files), but also to format /Data and /Cache and restore backed apps/data later, after stock system successful boot.
If you had already remove "verity" and "fileencryption..." flags from /vendor/etc/fstab.qcom and recovery.fstab, I guess you only need to wipe /Data and /Cache, after restoring /System.
And you need to match stock rom versions in /system as in /kernel as in /version.
I made TWRP backup of stock 8.0.0.142 (feb-2019) with no verify, no forced encryption, with permissive kernel. You can use that or extract images from update.app.
stock rom in 3 files.
Update 1:
I saw that there is newer version 8.0.0.143 (march-2019) for LDN-L21B model, eu firmware C432. No need to restore /data/hw_init folder, just flash
update_data_full_public.zip and update_full_LDN-L21B_hw_eu.zip, ignore error 7 etc, works fine.
