Question App switch gesture - Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

I am new with Samsung and I found out that app switch gesture is very annoying. On Pixel, Vivo and also on Iqoo it is pretty easy to swipe between apps with one hand holding the phone.
On Samsung it's nearly impossible to handle that, it's also not as accurate with two hands available.
Is there some workaround or does anyone know how do improve it?

Have a look at one hand operation

Unfortunately one hand is just for gesture from the side corners.

You can create an App swap gesture or a shortcut with Nova launcher.

Is the Samsung goodlock app with the task switcher module what you are after.

I try with OneHandOperation+ short swipe up previous app or task switcher.

Yes from the edges left and right, but you can't adjust anything for the bottom.

yes indeed, I use a couple aditionall apps to fulfill my needs in this regard, "fluid navigation gestures" and "edge gestures" these two apps give you the possinility to use the bottom edge, "edge gestures" also has a useful "pie feature" that lets you allocate up to 7 aditional functions per edge

It doesn't work for me, i think i got some problems with one hand operation +.
Its already disabled but i dont get the blue bars in fluid nav gestures.
Edit: now it works, small swipe is enough to switch between the apps.
Big Thanks to @winoles

fluid navigation gestures works really fine, although the animations, for some reason, in my csse, almost never are shown! but the app works exactly as intended

For some reason it does not work flawless, it stucks from time to time

[Q]How to Turn off pop-up view ?

Hi everybody
Do you guys know a way to deactivate the annoying pop up view ? Because everytime I wants to access my notification bar, the popup view thing shrink down the app I'm using and it's pretty frustrating
+1. I've been having the same issue.
+1 same here, you would think they added a possibility to turn this off but I haven't found it yet.
+1 for this... still haven't figured it out, would love to know if anybody else has.
What do you mean by pop up view? The giant quick buttons with brighness bar and sfinder/quickconnect? That thing bothers the hell out of me, it takes 1/3 of the screen. Also hate that you can't double click the notification boxes on the lock screen.
Sorry. Replied to quick based on title..
Similar description but different issue.
No, not that either. Pop-up view is when you drag down diagonally from the top right corner of the screen to make an app shrink down to a floating window.
looking through some other samsung touchwiz phone forums recently and it seems that there isn't a way to turn it off.
It's called MultiWindow and it is, in fact, annoying as ****.
Now that we have root, anybody have any thoughts?

Bump. Bump! It is super annoying with swipepad.
Bump. I hate it. Thinking of even getting rid of this phone.
I wrote a small application that can either enable/disable MultiWindow or bring back the MultiWindow Quick Toggle. It was primarily written for the Galaxy S6 however it should work on most of the devices that include Samsung’s MultiWindow feature. Look for “MultiWindow Toggle for Samsung” on the Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.nerd.multiwindowtoggle

In describing the behavior earlier in the thread, someone said "Pop-up view is when you drag down diagonally from the top right corner of the screen to make an app shrink down to a floating window. ". This application permits you to turn off that feature/behavior.
I believe that multi window, split screen and pop-up views are all part of the same feature. See Samsung's description of the feature in their SDK: http://developer.samsung.com/galaxy#multiwindow
The two features are definitely similar and related, but they are also distinctly different.

I apologize that the name for the application isn't specific enough. Regardless, it should disable the feature that includes the multi-window and pop-up behaviors.

Yes. It disables both. The application disables MultiWindow mode, which the popup behavior is part of. My reply was in response to the original poster who was looking for a way to disable the popup behavior that occurs when you try dragging down the notification bar. I believe the application addresses that undesirable behavior. I am sorry the application doesn't give you the control you want. If time permits, I will see if finer control over the behavior is available.

[S7 Edge] Use home button as capacitive

Dear community,
I come from Jailbroken iPhone 6 Plus with installed an useful application to use Home button as capacitive. Is there something similar for S7 Edge? I tried EasyHome from Play Store, but I have to restart it often because Android stop the service. Is there, for example, a xposed mod or something to blacklist EasyHome and keep it running?
Thank you
Lucas

Yes, already did it, but battery optimization kill app not used in the last 3 days, I believe not EasyHome case.
Anyway, EasyHome is not properly responsive, that's why also I'm searching a "root app" alternative.

That are some apps that could interfere with the app process. Also greenify and amplify is a app that could kill it. Also try to look into smart manager... Maybe if you use that that it gets killed

Yes, the main purpose of Easy Home is use Home as capacitive button but only when the screen is on, so, you have to press the button to access lock screen and unlock your phone. For me is ok, since checking all the time for your fingerprint can be result in battery consumption.

Hey, a short question.. If I buy paid version, do I have to buy for every device I own, cause I own too many devices
I wanna buy the PRO version (especially at the 50% off price), but I have no Play Store. Options?
Sent from my SHT-W09 using XDA Labs
I have the Pro version, Is it possible for the app drawer to act like pixel launcher ie; 1swipe gives most frequent apps 2nd/long swipe goes into app drawer?
I have two major issues.
Purchased the pro version for the app lock and gestures features. They both get disabled after some time by themselves (or reset to defaults). When I go back to settings I find app lock turned off and the double tap gesture set on "nothing" while I had it set to lockscreen before.
My biggest problem is how much RAM this launcher occupies (~750MB) which is way too much on my 4GB RAM Pixel 2XL, I have Nova Prime its only 100MB of RAM, that's with using Nova companion and tesla unread.

1. We will take a look at this, if you have Telegram, please join us in the above link!
2. Thanks to @franciscofranco, we would be working on the amount of RAM that the IAP client uses. We haven't fully implemented it yet but according to him, we are able to cut it down.
Also, it should be comparable to other Pixel-based launchers, as Nova was based on Launcher2 (AFAIK), we are now based on Launcher3, which shows many differences.
Feature request
Currently the lock screen is an either or option. (Unlock with fingerprint or no). Possible to enable both simultaneously? I'd like one swipe action to trigger one and a different swipe action to trigger the other.
How to hide the Google search?

Accessibility allows for the lock to not enforce the pattern. Whereas Device Admin does. It's not possible to bridge both of them.

How about the ability to launch a shortcut? Specifically in this case a Tasker shortcut to launch a task, but the general ability to launch shortcuts could be handy.
Thanks
Feature request: import layout from other launchers. I've been using Nova for so long it would be nice and save a lot of time to be able to import the layout.
@nicholaschum
The google feed is sometimes unreachable. Display has to locked and unlocked and then it is again reachable.
It's very disturbing.
Beside this, the launcher is awesome.
Xperia XZ2, stock Oreo 8.0
Hyperion v34, Hyperion dock v1.3
**Feature Request**
Can you add more app opening animation??
The first 2 options was dull (Default and KitKat animation)
I want the Pie and more opening animation please ???
Tnx ???
Thank you!
Feature request:
I bought the pro version and love the aesthetics But, please can we add an empty homescreen. My KLWP's don't work without it. Also, pinch in and out gestures.
Bug:
Removing the search bar from the app drawer removes the functionality of app search with home button gesture.
Bug report: On Android Android 9 - every time I create a folder in the app drawer it does not show up even when using the show folders first option. If I created 2 folders it crashes the app and cannot be started again until I clear cash and data.
Bug report/feature request:
On the OnePlus 6T while in Game Mode the launcher gets killed. No matter the game. OnePlus launcher doesn't suffer the same fate. Could this be fixed somehow? Maybe adding an option to keep launcher in memory could help?

Question Best fully working Gestures app for MIUI13?

Have been a great fan of Vivid Navigation Gestures for years, until I switched over to Xiaomi 12S Ultra and realized I couldn't make it work despite disabling all battery optimizations & enabling all permissions. Which gestures app can work properly without it closing by itself after long lock periods, and allow me to disable the navbar?

all of them can do it you just need to know what to change in miui settings.
I use FNG.
* disable miui battery optimization
* enable autostart
* go to apps -> system app settings -> security -> boost speed -> lock apps (enable fng)
* pull down notification shade and switch to toggles, click on the edit icon. drag the fng toggle to your "added toggles"
in the rare case where FNG is shut down you can just pull down the toggles shade disable enable it and you're back in business.

Try FNG instead. I got max 3 restarts a day
3 a day is still a lot. Is there any gestures app that has a no-kill notification service?
In addition, that app was not maintained since 2019

3 is better than 10, I don't know why it happens. If you are rooted you can try making this an admin app. Maybe that will prevent it from restarting
is there any easy way to root the phone without bricking it? Thank you.
This is the solution. Need to stop Miui from closing app.
Swipe up and hold to enter app tabs. Press and hold on FNG, then press the lock icon.
This stops the system from closing.
as shown in screenshots above, locking it doesn't prevent auto-close by system.

Oh I forgot to mention I'm on Xiaomi.eu rom.
can I port to eu ROM while maintaining all my apps, configs, settings?
No. It may be a different ROM branch and may have different partition differences as well as system apps being non Chinese versions. You might find it just boot loops if you do.
Just make sure you back everything in Google back up and have it set for auto restore and most settings and apps will get put back on with settings via the Google back up after you configure the Google account once flashed and formatted.

Finally I think I found a way to make FluidNG working without any breaks. Just use tasker and create a task that FluidNG (or your favourite gesture app) starts when you unlock your screen. Second: launch app "go to home screen". That's it. Working for a few days perfectly.

No, you should not do that. That is "old school". After the first 7862 releases FYT has changed that. I need to remove that from post #2 in my thread. (Thanks for reminding me )
Go into "Settings -> User -> Application Setting"
It determines which applications you want to auto-start when you start your car and unit. That is of course not the same as a "no kill", but works just as well.

it helped me to remove the navbar. There is no navbar now and it is beautiful.
Is there any difference between skipkillapp.prop and auto-start?
I actually don't want the application settings to appear on the screen when the unit starts. So keep it in the background.
In this case, when I auto-start, will the application settings be displayed as if I opened the application manually or will it stay in the background? And another thing I noticed when the unit restarts, the accessibility option is deactivated and I have to give permission again. Isn't there a solution to this?

"qemu.hw.mainkeys=1": That is a standard one to enable/disable the nav bar, but please check if your unit remains stable and if the systemui doesn't start crashing.
"Is there any difference between skipkillapp.prop and auto-start?" Yes. skipkillapp prevents the apps from being killed so they stay in memory in their active state. The application settings simply start the app on coming out of sleep or a reboot.
If you want a "nokill" system use @mariodantas kernel or @seb21 modded com.syu.ms apk.
Maybe I don't need navbar gestures because I removed the navbar below, but I already have navbar-like buttons in the upper statusbar section. So I don't think I will need it anymore.
by the way, yes it works stable and I didn't get any errors.

skipkillapp is a property file for android OOM (Out of Memory) mechanizm. It is good to place desired app on that list to prevent kill that app in case of memory shortage.
The actual "no kill" list is inside of syu.ms.apk : protected_app.txt.
And for the reboot. The FYT software does not start any third party app. To auto start an app there must be two conditions met :
1. the app must have autostart feature
2.the app must be whitelisted in pwctl_config.xml
