Hello everyone,
Posting after searching everywhere to no avail, so I'm hoping you guys can help me out.
I bought a Galaxy A53 as a Christmas gift to my gf. Bought it on Black Friday and gifted it on Christmas so I'm out of the return window and only the warranty remains. It's running One UI 5 and everything works fine, but I'm having issues with the vibration motor. I'm not sure if it's normal behaviour though and that's why I need your help.
If I turn on the haptic feedback on Google keyboard and leave it on default, there's no vibration at all. Only when I up it to about half of the bar I start to feel it vibrating.
Also, my girlfriend plays Beatstar and when the screen is touched, there should be a vibration (you need to turn it on in the settings of the game). There's no vibration at all.
System vibration is turned on in the phone settings in case you're wondering.
Given that I don't want to send it in for repairs for something that could be normal behaviour, I was wondering if any of you guys could test one or the other (or both) and please let me know if you've got the same behaviour?
Thank you!
Hello.
The vibration motor is just really bad quality. There is nothing to do to fix it, is just bad.

Lately (within 3-4 weeks) i have noticed that my Infuse vibrates quite obnoxiously.
At first i thought it was just the new case i bought, however when i take the case off it still vibrates loudly. It's actually something you could hear across a room if it went off on a desk or other flat surface. The only time when the vibration is subtle is when its in my pocket, or i have a death grip on it lol
I tried to remedy the problem myself through several attempts:
1. Flash a different ROM - Failed
2. Set vibration to "only in Silent Mode"- Failed
3. Change vibration intensity - Failed (only controls haptic feedback)
Has anyone had similar problems that could shed some light on this situation?! its almost too loud for me to carry my phone in school \)
I'm running DarkyROM for Infuse.
Any help regarding the topic is appreciated guys
- Thanks

I'd say keeping it in a loose pocket without anything else in it. Also, try using a different case. Maybe something siliconey or soft might help.
I'm pretty sure there is a way to reduce the vibration intensity but it will probably be by editing something in root explorer. I haven't the slightest idea where to start, but hey, if you can change the lcd density by editing some scripts, u can change the vibration intensity somehow too.

So I moved from a Nexus 4 to Nexus 5! I must say that I love this phone already. However, I have noticed that the vibration feedback from typing is so incredibly loud, especially compared to my Nexus 4. I feel like when I'm typing that everyone around me can hear each key-press. Now I know I can turn it off, but I really like the feedback when typing. But man is it loud. Seems I'm gonna have to resort to a custom rom to turn down the vibration level eventually.
Anyone else notice this?
Yeah mine is the same UK White 16GB.
A friend has recently got a UK Black 32GB (I think), and his is perfectly fine, vibration is quiet as you would expect.
I am probably going to return mine to CPW and get a new one, but I will check that one over before leaving the store. I think the current know defects are the vibration motor, screen backlight bleed, dead pixels and loose power button. My N5 only has the vibration issue, everything else is perfect.
For now I have gone in to advanced settings on the Google Keyboard and changed the Vibration Duration to 5ms. This gives enough feedback but makes the volume less audible unless you are typing very fast.
U can turn it down

had the same problem whit n4.. it is a branch thing..it irritated me i sold it after 5 days. bought a new one and it didn't had that problem
turning it down doesn't help, because it is noisy on very low levels

Ah, so it means mine is defective? Is this something Google would take and RMA for? That's a shame.. Everything else is great on mine
I actually have the opposite problem. The vibration on my N5 is almost _too_ weak. I'll have to test to see if I'd even notice it when it's in my pocket and I get a call (yes, I know, there are many jokes possible right there). The vibration on my N4 is actually harsh like described in the OP.
Checkout the Nexus 5 Defects thread in the General section. Other people, including me, have the exact same issue with the vibration. Trying to RMA it now . . .
Just exchanged my white Nexus 5 for a black as I much prefer the soft touch coating. The new unit has a quieter vibrate motor It still has the similar sound if you listen close but it's nowhere near as loud as the white one I had

Hi, I bought the OnePlus One 2wks ago via aliexpress. So far I absolutely love this phone especially for the price.
So my problem is when I first received the phone the vibration feedback when pressing the back/home buttons and keyboard feedback were really great a solid little buzz that gave the phone a quality feel about it much like the HTC. Since the last update XNPH25R (which may just be coincidence) the vibration has become stronger and an audible buzz is now heard from the phone. My question is has anyone else had this problem and would be a hardware and or software problem. Personally I'm thinking its a hardware problem as I tried flashing the original rom prior to the last update and still had the same problem.
Any suggestions or feedback would be greatly welcomed.

I'm having the same issue with the vibration/haptic feedback being almost a sound as much as a vibration. i just got mine Saturday and updated right away.
Yes. I am not happy with the vibration quality on the device. It feels like it's more loose and rattles. It's more annoying than the yellow tinting on the bottom of my screen.

Yes I agree it gives the impression something has come loose. What's more annoying for me is that is was not like that out of the box. I don't notice any yellow tinge on my screen. Other than that for $400 I do still like this phone.

So is the consensus that the "tingy" vibration feedback started when the latest update was applied? Has anyone tried another rom (I.e. Mahdi, CM nightlies)? My One+ will be here next week and really do not like tingy vibe motors! If it is hardware related I will turn off all vibration feedback.
I just got this phone yesterday and I notice the same rattle when I touch the capacitive buttons. It doesn't matter how strong or weak I make the vibration, it is still pretty loud.
The is a setting where you can turn the vibration down. It's set to 100 by default which I find to be to high.
Hi Everyone!
I'm mostly a lurker around here so sorry to barge in with a question, but I didn't see any threads on it.
I just received my S6 a few days ago (T-mobile variant). Got the latest update, factory reset it. Lately I've been having some issues with the haptic feedback and vibration when typing or receiving notifications. The haptic feedback when typing will suddenly be really unnoticeable or completely gone. I checked my settings in both keyboard settings and the Vibration settings under notifications and made sure I didn't accidentally lower the intensity. When I adjust the sliders, I can tell that the vibration is considerably less stronger than before.
It keeps fixing itself and then going back to not having any vibrations.
Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm wondering if I should exchange my phone for another. It's still within the 14 day window. I'm worried I'll get a worse one since my screen is perfect, the persistent flash is almost nonexistent and the buttons have very little wiggle.
Thank you
No one else has this issue? I guess I'll make a stop by T-Mobile later this week.

The T-Mobile attendant thought I was nuts LOL. But I could definitely feel the difference. I am hoping it's a software issue since they might not let me exchange the phone despite it being under the 14 days. Have you experienced it again?
I just got the Gear Fit2 Pro this week and began using it yesterday as I also have a Gear S3, so the first thing I noticed is that I was missing all my notifications. The watch doesn't have a speaker so we just rely on the vibration to know that we got a notification.
At some point yesterday I noticed that I had about 4 or 5 emails and other notifications pending but never felt the vibration, so I immediately went to the settings to see if there was a Vibration intensity or something but I just noticed that the only other option besides the vibration on and off is the long buzz, so it should vibrate longer for each notification. I decided to give that a try but the same thing, no vibration with the notification.
I decided to reboot the watch and then as soon as I received the first notification it vibrated but then no more vibration after that, so it seems that it only vibrates once after each reboot (I have tested it a couple of times now).
Looking around on Google and other forums I can't find another Gear Fit2 Pro with the same issue but there are dozens of similar reports from Gear Fit2 users, one of them worried me a little as he said that it was fixed only asking for service from Samsung, I think he mentioned that they replaced the vibration motor or something.
Problem for me is that I got this used on Swappa, no receipts, so no service from Samsung (I don't live in Continental US so here in Puerto Rico we don't exist for them) plus the seller, original owner, insists that it was working fine when he had it. I know that I can always open a claim on Paypal and ask for a full refund but I was just wondering if this is indeed a software issue and not hardware, I mean, it works after a reboot, that alone tells me that it may be software related. So I'm wondering if someone else is having or had a similar issue and if it was solved, somehow.
I've resetted it twice now and I'm currently testing it again, I just did a reset an hour ago, so I'm hoping for the best, but if you have any more details about this I'd really appreciate any help you may provide to me, thanks
I've the same issue it vibrates only one
