Everyone let me ask
In the same fastboot, one machine can connect to the laptop, the other cannot (still charge the battery and transfer files normally)
Does anyone know how to fix it?

yeah just had this headache of a problem. I was making the situation much more complicated then really needed to be. Long story short, i have about a billion micro usb cables laying around the house. What i didnt know, was, that not all cables are data capable. So when you plug it into the computer, it only charges, instead of giving the option of data transfer. I dont know if this helps you, but i hope so!
You can try a few things.
1) Try another cable
2) Try another computer
- i noticed sometimes windows take a few more seconds to recognise the mass storage
3) My wife's Optimus Black is unable to connect via USB, because it was rooted. If yours is rooted, perhaps you might want to un-root the phone and try.

Micro USB to USB 2.0 adaptor

These adaptors look like they allow one to connect a flash drive to their phone or tablet. Anyone ever try one on a phone before?

Yes, that is their purpose (and more). The device will need to have USB Host support for it to work though.

[Q] Infuse USB problem

It seems as though the USB portion of my phone connection no longer works. I can charge the phone and nothing else. No communication at all between PC and phone. So, I have the following questions, and appreciate all suggestions.
1. Is it easy to replace the USB port on the phone?
2. Is download mode attainable w/o use of the port?
I've had the phone for 18 months, and is not worth the $200 insurance deductible. May upgrade in a couple months, but wanted to know if this is an easy fix. Using Dropbox currently for file/ data transfer, so it's not a huge deal.
Thanks for all suggestions!
Infuse 4g USB problem
I too have an Infuse with a USB connection problem. The only thing it does is charge. The device is otherwise not recognized on a Windows XP or a Ubuntu 12.04 machine.
Thanks for any assistance.
Try app-Software data cable, and never need to worry about a cable again.

Data transfer is not a problem, when I have Dropbox. I was curious, and I'm sure there isn't, was if there was a way to get into Download mode w/o having a PC connection or being able to use a jig.

Phone only Charging when connected to to pc

Hello everyone, i'm having a very rare problem, when i connect my one plus 7T Pro to my pc / laptop the phone only charges and I don't see any option on the phone to get to file transfer mode also the device is not visible in device manager at all. Also, one more thing i noticed is that once in a while it(very occasionally ) shows that option.
Things i've tried:-
1. changed the cable
2. tried another phone with every cable I've and on both my pc and laptop (worked fine ) also ADB and fastboot commands were working.
3. tried to manually install fastboot drivers
could it be that it's a hardware issue? (i even formatted my laptop to see if it works )

Because the charging function and data transfer are two different things and the hardware for each is in different locations inside the device, as such, one of them can have hardware damage and the other function normally because damage "here" does not equal damage "there".

If the device worked fine then got wet then stopped working in certain ways, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to make a connection between the two events. Occam's razor states that the answer that requires the fewest assumptions is usually the correct answer.

Sorry forgot to update here, so the phone usb jack was the problem. After replacing with new one it's working fine.
