for play protect not certified or device not certified - Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC Questions & Answers

hi all
some devices when flashed with different region rom come out with play protect not certified error.
for example any way to flash official south east asian rom over official eu rom without getting such error?
or how to get rid off error after flash?
when i restore eu rom error gone.
when i flash indonesian rom i get error again
error situation does not necessarily apply to poco x3 nfc although i am now concerned to reflash my x3 with taiwanese which would work best for me.
this problem probably applies to newer devices.
these obnoxious people from mountain view must have changed something, they probably check for original rom device came.
play protect error is worst because i cannot even add google account in settings

CN Ver. with flashed OS

I ordered a new phone and just spotted that its "CN Ver. with flashed OS":
1. Do I need to worry?
2. Does that mean I lose the Widevine and Google Pay support?
3. Can I reset manually reset the phone to "stock" international version (just in case it comes with a virus etc.)?
I think it's T-mobile Variant

I assume they mean a custom ROM (flashed by the user). All ROMs are "flashed". How else would it get on the phone?
1. Probably not.
2. You don't "lose" Widevine. It drops Widevine status from L1 to L3. Which means Netflix reduces the video resolution from 720p to 480p (and apparently also some other video services like Hulu, Amazon Prime, HBO). Widevine L1 status is restored if you return the phone to stock condition and relock the bootloader.
I don't know about Google Pay on a custom ROM, but it works fine on the stock ROM with root.
3. Yes.

This is actually from eGlobalCentral who are basically a Chinese seller, but with depots in Europe...
(So suspect they are taking stock CN phones and flashing with the international stock ROM - but who knows)
As long as I can "reinstall" the international version + boot loader (and re-lock) without any limitations compared to the official version (auto updates, full google pay etc.) I can stop my worrying...

I think you're fine! Granted they don't send you some clone device and it's REAL OnePlus hardware. The MSM tools that are floating around here on XDA will restore the device to stock and lock the bootloader for you, so no worries there, just make sure to use the correct MSM tool for the device you end up with.
Side note, I notice for me anyway that the MSM tool only flashes one partition, it's a good idea to do a local upgrade from the phone itself after using the MSM tool, just in case.

There won't be any issues with fake hardware (have used the site a few times before) - they are just poor at communicating when an item is in stock in Europe versus in stock in China (with the extra delay of it being shipped to Europe warehouse) - but they consistently have excellent prices.
(with all the delays I might just go straight to the Q beta!!!)
Thanks all!

i think the CN version you're talking to is the CHINA VARIANT GM1910 ??? these variants have hydrogen OS installed out of the box,,
but there are some sellers who tampered it and install Oxygen OS then reseal it ... JUst like mine,, Im from the Philippines and i opt to buy a GM1910 china variant FLASHED with global rom (OXYGEN OS) because of the GOLD WHITE COLOR
and because it's now in OXYGEN os, it has all the GOOGLE PLAY SERVICES installed. and lastly,, the WIDEVINE L1 is still intact.. you will only loose it if you unlock its bootloader...
GM1910 is the Chinese variant OnePlus 7 Pro running HydrogenOS (with GM21 build tag).
It is possible to flash both GM21AA (global) and GM21BA (EU) OxygenOS firmware on top of the HydrogenOS using the Local Upgrade method.
Bootloader unlocking is not necessary for switching to OxygenOS.
After conversion, you'll get OTA update from the respective branch.

Yea, all was good came re-flashed with Oxygen - will probably do a hard reset once Oxygen 10 is final.

Question Changing from Global Rom to EU solved(ish)

Hi guys,
So I got the chinese variant of the OnePlus 9 - LE2110. It came with a global Rom already installed. I'm currently on os 11.2.2.2 LE25DA.
I've been reading through the forums and I'm not sure what I need to download exactly to get this over to EU Rom. I think I also saw that I need to let this update first as it's prompting me to install 11.2.7.7. Things are changing so fast with this phone in terms of recent otas and root options that I'm concerned I'll use a dated method that could brick my phone.
Does someone know what file I need to flash on this and how? Also should I upgrade first. At the moment I'm downloading a zip of this but I'm not sure if this is correct :
11.2.6.6
OnePlus9Oxygen_22.E.09_GLO_0090_2105252341
Thanks in advance for any help or pointers

Achieved it - as another user posted in another post. Set your device to EU before you update in the oxygen updater app.
But what was not mentioned is If you are just setting up, you also need to allow advanced settings in the updater. Otherwise I was getting a warning message telling me I have selected the wrong device.
Just updated using the updater with the device set to EU and I have BA version
Hey! I'm in the same spot as you were, but I updated it to 11.2.7.7.LE25DA. I also have the CN version. Do I have to wait to the next update to move from global to EU, or is there any option to change it now?
Thanks!

That was my understanding. However I've been having reception issues that I did not have with a CN huaweii I had before this phone so I'm thinking it might be the EU rom I flashed, which would be odd as I'm in Ireland.
,
Anyway, even though I changed my phone from oneplus 9 (eu) to just oneplus 9 in the updater, I am prompted to download 11.2.7.7 - even though that's what I'm currently on.
Anyone know if this is just the global version of 11.2.7.7? This would mean I would not have to wait for the next update though.

Regarding the reception issues, bugs are always possible, or maybe the antenna isn't as strong as your previous phone. From https://www.kimovil.com/ I can see that your Chinese variant should be perfectly fine in Ireland. I would recommend that you reach out to oneplus support, what you've done so far is not breaching warranty restrictions.
Otherwise the "nuclear option" is to use an msm tool to reset your device, including the "modem" (or EFS?) partition which controls certain hardware-related functionality. This is because I'm quite certain they don't change when flashing any of the standard update images (not even a "full" update). Not sure an msm tool is available for your Chinese hardware variant. This is also becoming more risky and not sure how desperate you are.

You said yourself that you're running EU version but have set the app to check for "global", so I'm a bit confused by your confusion. If you want to stay on eu branch, then tell the app that your device is eu.

Cheers, thanks for all that info. I may just live with it, I don't think it's bad enough to warrant messing around with MSM tools. The reception issues seems to only happen when I'm travelling across the county and probably switching towers.
Sorry if my post is a little confusing. What I'm trying to say is I'm having reception issues while on EU rom. So I thought if I change back to global rom this might fix the reception issue. I thought I could only do this if there was an update available. I changed my phone to global on the update and it says there is an update available even though it's the same software version, that's all.
Do you think changing back to Global could fix it?

I see, I highly doubt it, but it's a low-risk experiment and only a bit of fuss waiting for the download and update, so probably worth a shot. Not to mention the fuss to come back to eu version if it didn't help.
And to be clear about the app, I guess the app was then just telling you about the latest relevant image matching your preference, the "advanced mode" should probably be turned off once you've settled on the region of choice. It's only giving you persistent notifications, so it's not helpful and also quite distracting in the long term.

thanks, and yes regarding the app, I thought it was prompting me to install the same version of the software but for the global variant, this is not the case if you try it locally. I saw an option to flash it via the root method but this required twrp. Trying to install twrp at the moment but having an issue with the boot twrp.img command. anyway, if there's an easier way any pointers would be great but thanks for your help.
I'm also thinking if my connection issue persists I will get in touch with oneplus like you said - this is not an issue I should be having with this caliber of a phone.
If I get the global rom on, and make the same journey to test it, I will circle back here to let you know how I got on.
Cheers
What are the differences between the global and EU roms? Are there any benefits to using one over the other?

Not a lot, if any. On DA I'm getting the odd one plus notification from the updater or cloud services that I didn't get from EU. Otherwise it's the same rom. I'm testing the different variants to see if it makes any difference to signal strength (which it doesn't by the way).
I'm likely to revert back to EU rom because they say updates are quicker for it and 'should' be better in terms of gdpr issues. But they're basically the same (from what I can see).
So, just to be sure. Now that 11.2.8.8 has been released, I have to switch my phone in Oxygen Updater to EU version and full update? That's it?

Question Problems with NFC/GooglePay because of Global ROM

Hi guys, so I bought my first Realme phone a couple of months ago and I noticed that the Google Pay app wasn't working. I checked the ali store where i bought it and surely it said "Global rom: This is the version with global firmware installed, with many languages, including portuguese language, spanish language, google store is normal, but please note that google pay payment does not work properly". For any reason, this ROM wont let me have Google Pay, so I wanted to know if any of you knows how to enable the Google Pay app? or should I install another ROM? Has any of you had a similar problem? Thanks
Perhaps shift from global to Europe firmware?
Im from South America, so I dont know if the European firmware would work. I'm having a little bit of trouble finding out how RUI 3.0 - Firmware - ROM work. Also, do you know how to do the shift from Global to European? Or at least a tutorial? Ive seen the site https://realmefirmware.com/realme-gt-neo2-5g-firmware/ which has the global firmware released today but I dont know if it's just installing the firmware and problem solved.
Bootloader unlocked = no google pay, it will only work with the original firmware channel, don't try locking your bootloader if you are not 100% sure of it, this will cause your phone to bootloop and you will end up with a bricked device that only realme support would be able to solve, the best solution would be to spoof your device fingerprint to pass the SafetyNet and everything will work just fine, you can contact me for help if you want.
Yes Im going to need a little bit of help with that, thanks

With Magisk installed you can use the Universal SafetyNetFix by kdrag0n, easy fix
hello, I also flashed the phone, changed the region, rooted it (now it does not work). And closed the bootloader. works on the old bank, but the new (other) does not want to.

i did install it, but CTS profile still not pass.
I figure out that I need a valid fingerprint which associate to the device (The one which registered to google) to make CTS check pass.
So, I need the fingerprint when the device is in stock rom and haven't rooted.

Question how to unlock my bricked Redmi Note 11 Pro 5g (China:Pissarro) Bootloader

hi, i updated my phone to MIUI 13.0.3 android 12 and i've noticed a bug that made all the apps that are using the camera like instagram and snapchat take blurry pictures like an effect getting applied to the pictures taken by those apps (everything normal in my stock camera app) so i decided to use MiFlash tool to flash the previous android version on my phone but i bricked my phone instead i flashed a global rom while my phone is the chinese market version and accidently checked the ClearData+lock Device check box in MiFlash. the tool flashed the rom successfully but when the phone restarted it showed me a message saying that this rom cannot be installed on this device in recovery mode i couldn't do anything after cuz the bootloader got locked too T i tried everything to unlock it (mtk Client - bootloader unlocker+ adb fastboot + Xiaomi Unlock app ...). please help me is there any way i can fix my phone and what is the righ Rom to flash on my phone (Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G China (21091116C - Pissarro). thnx
friend I'm not a star I tell you how things are 1) you can't go back with another Rom only china 2) anti-roll-back 3) MiCloud you have to disable it you can try MiflashV2 there is also to unlock the bootloader it does everything even the firmware remember if the firmware does not start. important not only china also not china for updates remember first you do the factory reset put google account do not update any app except google drive backup with drive if it has arrived update it is better by setting the time instead of downloading the package the problem is when the update occurs it fails to close all active apps and then there is MiCloud that blocks. Best wishes and good luck and that I have little time for me too much trouble here in Europe.

currently my phone is stuck at the logo and after seconds it loads Fastboot automatically i cant access the phone os to do anything i used the xiaomi bootloader unlocker app that works online but it didnt work . the local cell phone service shops told that they have to open the phones back case to fix it ... i dont want that i've just bought the phone didnt even use it for a whole month
they don't have to open it they use licensed or dongle software (USB type) currently I use unlocktoll.net but if the phone is under warranty and you haven't removed the bootloader before it is better for you. It is possible that others have the same problem as you. Good luck

Rule number 1 for Xiaomi never flash anything on Mediatek devices, it will fail. If messed up, no way back as Xiaomi locks the devices for autorized service providers or local Xiaomi branches only. If you want to play with Xiaomi custom roms/development/etc. related only buy Snapdragon based devices.
I i.e. learned it the hard way, when this all started with the Redmi Note 8 Pro, I bricked it by flashing twrp in Android 11 and Xiaomi didn't want to repair it, so I had to pay some russian guy to fix it via Teamviewer with a modified unlock tool which was able to answer the unlock requests by pasting the answer manually from a generator. It's not like I messed up at a point, it's just that Mediatek devices easily fall in a unrecoverable state. In my term it was the combination of Android version and twrp. You will note there is no Mediatek support on xda and even when your device is named like a Snapdragon version, your device is offtopic here, because trying anything on it beyond unlocking the bootloader is harakiri

Congratulation. Brick without unlocked BL :/
my opinion: you are done....
Some Xiaomi devices have pins on motherboard to
switch EDL, but i dont know with this device.
Try complaint and say something like: "my phone was upgraded and then i see only logo"

Question How to tell if it needs EEA or GOBAL (without checking settings)?

I have a poco x3 pro purchased in europe. The label says EU on the receipt. I don't remember the MUI version it shipped. I want to flash the original rom because I want to go back from custom roms. What do I do?
Europe is EEA.
Ok the original problem was figuring out if it was really European or not (didn't trust the thing). But now I flashed it... Removed the bloatware... Wish I could stay with LOS+micro g but some services (like government bonuses and carriers) don't like lack of google play services and lack of safetynet. I could use magisk (and I did) but I was scared about stability. I don't want to have to troubleshoot a safetynet check when I really need it. If you want a ROM that passes Safetynet out of the box and supports microG, you can try CrDroid and install a MinMicroG package to have microG installed on the system
