Hi guys,
So I got the chinese variant of the OnePlus 9 - LE2110. It came with a global Rom already installed. I'm currently on os 11.2.2.2 LE25DA.
I've been reading through the forums and I'm not sure what I need to download exactly to get this over to EU Rom. I think I also saw that I need to let this update first as it's prompting me to install 11.2.7.7. Things are changing so fast with this phone in terms of recent otas and root options that I'm concerned I'll use a dated method that could brick my phone.
Does someone know what file I need to flash on this and how? Also should I upgrade first. At the moment I'm downloading a zip of this but I'm not sure if this is correct :
11.2.6.6
OnePlus9Oxygen_22.E.09_GLO_0090_2105252341
Thanks in advance for any help or pointers

Achieved it - as another user posted in another post. Set your device to EU before you update in the oxygen updater app.
But what was not mentioned is If you are just setting up, you also need to allow advanced settings in the updater. Otherwise I was getting a warning message telling me I have selected the wrong device.
Just updated using the updater with the device set to EU and I have BA version
Hey! I'm in the same spot as you were, but I updated it to 11.2.7.7.LE25DA. I also have the CN version. Do I have to wait to the next update to move from global to EU, or is there any option to change it now?
Thanks!

That was my understanding. However I've been having reception issues that I did not have with a CN huaweii I had before this phone so I'm thinking it might be the EU rom I flashed, which would be odd as I'm in Ireland.
,
Anyway, even though I changed my phone from oneplus 9 (eu) to just oneplus 9 in the updater, I am prompted to download 11.2.7.7 - even though that's what I'm currently on.
Anyone know if this is just the global version of 11.2.7.7? This would mean I would not have to wait for the next update though.

Regarding the reception issues, bugs are always possible, or maybe the antenna isn't as strong as your previous phone. From https://www.kimovil.com/ I can see that your Chinese variant should be perfectly fine in Ireland. I would recommend that you reach out to oneplus support, what you've done so far is not breaching warranty restrictions.
Otherwise the "nuclear option" is to use an msm tool to reset your device, including the "modem" (or EFS?) partition which controls certain hardware-related functionality. This is because I'm quite certain they don't change when flashing any of the standard update images (not even a "full" update). Not sure an msm tool is available for your Chinese hardware variant. This is also becoming more risky and not sure how desperate you are.

You said yourself that you're running EU version but have set the app to check for "global", so I'm a bit confused by your confusion. If you want to stay on eu branch, then tell the app that your device is eu.

Cheers, thanks for all that info. I may just live with it, I don't think it's bad enough to warrant messing around with MSM tools. The reception issues seems to only happen when I'm travelling across the county and probably switching towers.
Sorry if my post is a little confusing. What I'm trying to say is I'm having reception issues while on EU rom. So I thought if I change back to global rom this might fix the reception issue. I thought I could only do this if there was an update available. I changed my phone to global on the update and it says there is an update available even though it's the same software version, that's all.
Do you think changing back to Global could fix it?

I see, I highly doubt it, but it's a low-risk experiment and only a bit of fuss waiting for the download and update, so probably worth a shot. Not to mention the fuss to come back to eu version if it didn't help.
And to be clear about the app, I guess the app was then just telling you about the latest relevant image matching your preference, the "advanced mode" should probably be turned off once you've settled on the region of choice. It's only giving you persistent notifications, so it's not helpful and also quite distracting in the long term.

thanks, and yes regarding the app, I thought it was prompting me to install the same version of the software but for the global variant, this is not the case if you try it locally. I saw an option to flash it via the root method but this required twrp. Trying to install twrp at the moment but having an issue with the boot twrp.img command. anyway, if there's an easier way any pointers would be great but thanks for your help.
I'm also thinking if my connection issue persists I will get in touch with oneplus like you said - this is not an issue I should be having with this caliber of a phone.
If I get the global rom on, and make the same journey to test it, I will circle back here to let you know how I got on.
Cheers
What are the differences between the global and EU roms? Are there any benefits to using one over the other?

Not a lot, if any. On DA I'm getting the odd one plus notification from the updater or cloud services that I didn't get from EU. Otherwise it's the same rom. I'm testing the different variants to see if it makes any difference to signal strength (which it doesn't by the way).
I'm likely to revert back to EU rom because they say updates are quicker for it and 'should' be better in terms of gdpr issues. But they're basically the same (from what I can see).
So, just to be sure. Now that 11.2.8.8 has been released, I have to switch my phone in Oxygen Updater to EU version and full update? That's it?

That's the version I'm have on my device. Want to be able to recover from my experiments. Thanks.
i have no idea what RUU is (it's been too long since the last time I have an HTC phone), but I am guessing it's some sort of a ROM package for HTC devices.
I bought the U11+ from a vendor in Asia, but I can't seem to find the originating country where the phone was sold. I'm unsure if it's a Hong Kong model, or European model. But inside the box, the power adapter that came with the phone is a type C (commonly used in Europe). On the box, it seems the model 2Q4D100.
Now my actual question is, how can I update my phone to the newest ROM because my phone is currently running version 1.10.400.23 (October Security Patch)? Also, if possible, I'd like to keep the phone as stock as possible, root and unlocking bootloader or s-off isn't something that I am after.

i think your device europe model update in setting or dowlond here 1.24.401.2 ru version and update on pc
What software do I use to update on the PC?
Thanks for your response.
EDIT: answering my own question
If your phone is untampered/unrooted, with its bootloader still locked (e.g., you haven't done anything to modify your phone); then IF you manage to find the correct RUU file that matches your phone's CID/MID (CountryID? ModelID?):
1. Rename the RUU file to correspond with your device's model type (e.g. 2Q4DIMG.zip)
2. Find a MicroSD card, and place the RUU file into the root of that MicroSD Card. Insert the MicroSD card into the phone. You need to use a MicroSD card, otherwise the next step won't work.
3. Boot into Download Mode, by pressing and holding down the 'Vol Down + Power Key while the device is turned-off. Let go of the keys as soon as you feel the device vibrates
4. Once your device successfully boots into Download Mode, your device will ask if you'd like to flash the RUU file. Proceed by pressing the Vol Up key.
5. If your RUU file matches your device's CID/MID, then Download Mode will proceed with the installation.
6. ????

1.24 only OTA'ed in the last few days, so he was probably on the latest on 1.23.
Can always RUU to 1.23 and OTA up to 1.24, so not too massive if you cant find an RUU for 1.24 yet. I havent seen 1.24.709.7 RUU floating around yet.
Hi guys, i am planning on buying the U+ here from China/Beijing, as you know devices here don't come with Google play store and Google stock apps installed. I am wondering since i never owned an HTC phone before, is it possible to flash another country or region rom for ex: HK that has all Google apps and do you recommend me buying this phone?, any further advice or tips would be much appreciated.
I am planning to sell my Iphone 8+ and get the U+ instead.
Thanks in advance.

I have the device for almost 3 weeks now... I'm absolutely happy with it... Don't believe in many of the reviews out there (YouTube etc.)... There are many reviews saying the screen is too dark... That is absolutely not true! I've had the HTC 10 before and while having both devices side by side with same setting, the u11+ indeed looks much darker, but it seems, the lightsensor is much better! In sunlight the u11+ is much better readable than the 10 is... And I'm using just 25% brightness outside in automode and on the 10 I have to use 50+% to be able to read something on the display. What I try to say is, that many reviewers are doing device checks indoor... You don't need your device to be a supertrouper indoors to be clear. So the reviews are dumb. The materials used are absolutely great, the manufacturing is perfect!
So for you question about the Google apps... AFAIK you can download every Google app and install it via playstore. To get playstore itself, check apkmirror.com
Theoretical you can flash other Roms... Practically atm its not possible, cause there aren't any custom roms around yet. It's possible to open bootloader via htcdev site and you can flash custom recovery and root your device. So if you want to flash a Rom from a different region I guess you first need to get s-off, which is also not available now. But with the option to download and install all Google apps (if that's everything you need) from apk mirror I doubt you need to do manipulate anything in the device and just use it out of the box getting all your stuff you need from the web and install it.

Thank you very much for the advice, see the problem with phones specific to china they don't come with Google services framework and Google Account apks pre built, which are essential for some Google apps to work properly or you would get the force close issues which I see alot of users from China and outside are complaining about after installing manually both apks mentioned and other Google apps on the U11+.
I used to own a Huawei P8 (Great device) but i didn't buy it from China it came with Google apps and wasn't facing the issue I am inquiring about. The point I want to make is that the downfall of that device and these Chinese brands is the updates frequency and lack of developer/rom support.
What I am afraid of with this device besides the updates frequency, lack of developer/rom support is not being able to flash stock roms with Google apps pre built. All of these are red flags to not buy and enjoy this nice device which is a shame.
I think it would be a better decision to stick with the iphone 8+ for now because it retains a better second hand value compared to the 11U+ if i decide to buy it. My true device goal is a 2018 device with better looks/specs and support.
Thanks again.

Here you go...
There's been a lot of new users picking up cheap G7 ThinQ G710ULM (US Unlocked) versions on ebay lately, then getting frustrated when they find out it a hacked Sprint version (G710pm).
I'm finding posts from new users on different corners of the internet, Telegram groups, Reddit, etc, usually saying that they can't upgrade from Oreo and their device is missing a serial number, and the IMEI is actually from the Sprint pm version. I couldn't find a lot of info in one place about these handsets, so I'm starting this thread to discuss them. There's a good chance any ULM on ebay for a good price is one of these. I bought 3 of them for different people from different sellers, and this was the case on all of them. I almost returned them all and gave up until I did some research and found out THIS ISN'T NECESSARILY A BAD THING!
In fact, it may actually be beneficial compared to the real ULM version in some ways. First of all, it WILL work with T-mobile USA just fine. The bands all seem to work, it even supports WiFi calling and VOLTE, and there's a chance even B71 will work (although this isn't 100% verified, it shows up as an available band to test in the service menu). The real ULM supposedly skips this band. Some people even say the real ULM version is also missing bands for AT&T, but the PM crossflashed version seems to connect to them (this might be an isolated incident or fluke, but at least one redditor claims this was his experience). I'm still not clear on how the unlocked official US version can be missing AT&T bands, so I'd love for other people to maybe chime in here with their experiences.
Yes, you can update to Pie. The OTA updates won't work, likely because of the missing serial number. On that note, I'd LOVE to find out why that is. Can anyone explain why these crossflashed devices are missing the SN? Does that happen on other crossflashed devices?
Either way, follow this guide here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg...how-to-install-pie-stock-treble-aosp-t3914079
Note, this guide was written for flashing a European variant, but the same steps apply. Just choose a kdz for the ULM variant from here: https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-lmg710ulm-firmwares/#tab=firmwares
^ I recommend the latest Google Fi firmware version, which is G710ULM20e_00_NAO_US_OP_1010.kdz , from 2019-11-14
There is a more recent version from BPT, but it is unclear what that firmware is for. BPT seems to be some sort of regional carrier, so you are better off with the regular USA or Fi version.
Also note, you may need to use 7zip to extract the dll file from that guide. That took me a while to figure out, as Windows explorer throws an error with it. Once you finish, your phone will reboot with a shiny new (relatively) up to date Pie firmware!
There. You now saved yourself a few bucks and got a solid phone. Feel free to share your experiences with the handset here.

The devices lose the s/n and possibly imei because people are flashing using lgup 1.14 dev version which causes issues with nvdata.
Lgup 1.15 fixes this when you go back to oreo then update to pie.
Also crossflashed devices do not get ota because lgup marks these devices as crossflashed in nvdata using a 0x01 value for certified_device

Wow, that's some good info right there, thank you for sharing!
Hmm- messing with nvdata though? So you're saying the SN missing is some sort of accident or goof? That doesn't sound so cool. Should I be concerned anything else is messed up? There's a ton of these in the wild now and it seems the SN is the only weird side effect that has been noticed.
As far as I know the IMEI is fine (looking it up reveals it is a PM imei, which is correct, and it does work with voice over Wifi and VOLTE, which I think wouldn't work if the IMEI was messed up). In fact, it's interesting because when that screen loads in Settings>About, etc, it shows "checking" under S/N, then checking goes away and it comes back blank. None of the other fields seem to need any sort of checking first. There's something fishy about how the S/N is stored that it has to check it first and then error out.

Hmm. It came with Oreo, and I used 1.15 to flash to Pie. So you're saying I should flash another Oreo kdz with my LGUP and it will magically fix any corrupt NVdata?

Oh, that is unfortunate. And that value stays with it forever, even if you go back to it's native firmware? I'm assuming that value can't be manipulated with any of the tools we have available.
Thank you so much for sharing this knowledge. Any insight on how the bands work? Is that from nvdata as well, and completely independent of firmware? So essentially, I have whatever band support a G710pm has? Or perhaps was it manipulated by the seller/refurbisher, who possibly used some nvram voodoo tricks which killed the S/N as a result?
Even tho the s/n is blank and at time if you try to show the imei it might also be blank, it is still stored internally and not lost forever.
There is multiple oreo's which for ulm is 10g and 11g, but i would have said flash to the original firmware but you cannot as sprint kdz is not available and the people who have an Original firmware still on device cannot or will not back it up for us.
The value for certified device returns to normal when flashed to the original firmware as lgup has an internal database used for identifying models.
As far as the basebands, all g7 thinq's come with the same bands no matter the firmware or region. The difference is the kdz gives band priority to the ones prefered by the carrier.
All of that can be changed by getting into the lg data secret menu or the dialer code menu
Remember now bootloader and root for the LG g7 is just the beginning. You talk about nvdata you might as well throw out EFS backup as well.
The point is that TWRP creates faulty EFS backups on many devices which can't be restored properly. For our devices TWRP is barely universal. People selling crossflashed phones know this which is why they sell them.
I prefer the manual backup using adb shell you can do it with terminal emulator as well.
Qfil is very powerful for Qualcomm devices and we'll figure out how to make back ups of all partitions that involve serial numbers and IMEI ( nvdata and efs).
Just wait you'll see.

Thats already been possible since day 1, use qpst with your msl code to backup qcn with imei and s/n.

I don't understand. What does twrp have to do with any of this? My bootloader is locked and the stock recovery is still there. The devices are likely just flashed with LGup as is, and that doesn't seem to have effected much outside of a missing SN.
Are you saying that my cross flashed phone would effect things if I tried to root somehow? Or am I missing the point here?

Using TWRP to create a backup of efs. Sometimes the restore is faulty.
EFS partition holds up the unique IMEI number of the device, also other identifying numbers like MAC address, MEID, and ESN are stored up in this partition.
Check you IMEI with this.
https://imeipro.info/check_lg.html
To get your sn.
Oh ok.
So I don't actually need to know my SN but I'd like it to not be blank if flashing back to a previous version would restore it... Especially if there are possibly other parts of nvram that may be corrupt that I'm unaware of?
Thanks for the info. The one I got said it can't work on Sprint or Verizon networks, and is missing the serial #, as you said.
I got just one from bay with S/N missing and software version G710ULM10g. Latest patch level Sep 1, 2018 (Android 8.0.0). Is there any way to install Android 10 based ROM?
Assuming that after following the steps (Part 1 only) (hope we can skip part 2?) to somehow install G710ULM20e_00_NAO_US_OP_1010 (Android 9), is there a way to follow similar steps after part-1 to update it to Android 10 based ROM?
It would be great if someone can help to install Android 10 directly from Android 8.0 (without the need to installing Android 9). I am not sure if its even possible to get Android 10 on such bay unlocked devices without S/N.

If you must know the serial number there is a one site that you enter imei and it'll tell you what it is. Just gotta search on Google.
Serial number is lost when bootloader is unlocked. You can regain it if you relock and go back to stock. Not sure what version of g7 you have. More likely it's probably crossflashed and sold like that so there won't be a kdz to go back to stock.
Android 10 has a thread they tell you what kdz to crossflash too and how to update to android 10 with the activity launcher app.
I just got a 710pm off ebay. I unlocked the bootloader, crossflashed to ulm pie, and rooted. It works just fine. [emoji106]

Here's the crossflashing thread using command line lgup.
Thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g7-thinq/how-to/cross-flash-oreo-pie-firmwares-lg-g7-g7-t3915303
There's another lgup dualmode you can use the partion dl option to install the Korean kdz that Android 10 uses. Search for that.
To install the Android 10 LGUP_FOTA.up update which you use activity launcher to install.

Thanks. My phone (G710PM) is cross-flashed with G710ULM firmware Android 8. Please suggest is below plan will work?
1) First update existing firmware to stock Android 9.0 i.e. G710ULM20e_00_NAO_US_OP_1010 using these steps.
2) Then install Lineage OS 17.1 (based on Android 10) because it needs stock Android 9.0 as a pre-requisite using these steps.

Yes it will work.
I'd also like to add that Google Pay will not work, at retail brick and mortar stores.
A pop up says device may be rooted or modified.
I have magisk installed and it seems to trick Schwab banking app.
Edit:
Edit: I followed the instruction from the following video, and was able to get GPay to accept the card. Also Gpay needs to be manually hidden in magisk, be sure to select 'display system apps' to find it.

If you're on Pie, I doubt you have one of these Sprint phones. Check if you pass SafetyNet and if so, you have a native ULM model. Most G7 variants receive very few updates (including the ULM).
I received a Oneplus 8t (Cyberpunk Edition). The phone was supposed to have HydrogenOS as it is a Chinese phone. However, the vendor installed Global OxygenOS (KB05AA). After OTA updates, the phone wouldn't reboot and would get stuck on the Cyberpunk boot animation.

Pros: Google Apps and a Global ROM.
Cons: No OTA updates and no original Cyberpunk theme.
Best case scenario for OxygenOS users would be for Oneplus to fix the OTA updates for Cyberpunk phones. This would stop the bootloop problem people are having.

I have made a guide on how to restore HydrogenOS and add Google Apps:
Oneplus 8T (Cyberpunk Edition) - HydrogenOS (Google Apps, Theme, OTA Updates!)
Originality/HydrogenOS If you have a Chinese Cyberpunk Edition phone with OxygenOS, you'll notice that the Cyberpunk theme/assets are missing, and OTA updates lead to a boot loop. This guide will tell you how to restore the phone to its original...

Pros: Working OTA updates, the original Cyberpunk theme, and Google Apps!
Cons: A little bit of time and maintenance.

Overall I would highly recommend trying the HydrogenOS solution I've linked above. It works excellent for me, so I won't be pursuing a solution for OxygenOS unless things change. The guide I wrote and linked above should get anyone with a Cyberpunk phone on to HydrogenOS (with OTA updates, original theme, and Google Apps).

Hi,
so even if we flash full OTA zip file of 11.0.5.6KB05AA version (or EU version) from the HydrogenOS, for future update we will not be able to use phone OTA?
Thanks,

Your results may vary, but OxygenOS' (KB05AA) OTA updates aren't currently meant for the Cyberpunk phone. Many people have gotten the bootloop issue on OTA updates.

Ok, so I have tried updating using EU version "Oxygen_15.E.21_OTA_0210" ==> resulted in bootloop. I wiped the phone and back to hydrogenOS.
Now I will see if I can flash the Global version and update this reply.
Edit:
flashing global full OTA "15.O.20_OTA_0200" also resulted in bootloop. I wiped and back to hydrogenOS.
only thing is confusing me is... how did the vendor install global oxygenOS and sell to people.
I've tried to contact their support team, so far 5 days no answer - I'm as confused as you @shadww... I'm currently just using it as a regular 8T, I've never had the phone in Hydrogen OS tho - build is Oxygen OS 11.KB05AA and update is to Oxygen OS 11.0.5.6.KB05AA...

Have you tried to do the OTA update?
I also have the 8T Cyberpunk edition running on 11.0.4.5.KB05AA right now, i have SOME Cyberpunk things (theme as well as always on display clock (no wallpapers) i have tried to install newest update with Full zip and gets me to bootloop, ill be in touch in case i am able to achieve anything.
I have already said they hacked the phones. I wouldn't be surprised if the Chinese sellers have a half decent working TWRP that they aren't sharing

Hacked, how so? It seems like all they did was obtain/install the KB05AA ahead of schedule. I guess it's all hearsay, either way.
I received my 8T Cyberpunk 3 days ago. I've requested the Seller to ship it off with HydrogenOS as stock so I can still have the original themes. They've also taken the liberty to install GApps on my HydrogenOS as well. So right now I can use Google Services and GPay. They have deleted all the Chinese Bloatware (But still kept Market, Wallet, Browser).
Running: Hydrogen OS 11.0.5.6.KB05
PRO:
GoogleApps (Playstore, Play Protect, Google Pay)
Original CyberPunk Theme with HydrogenOS
OTA HydrogenOS Update with no problems
CON:
AndroidAuto does not work.
Google BackUp does not work (Only Google Photo backup works)
Google Assistant can be dodgy.
Where did you buy please?

Yep - results in bootloop so I stopped trying and waiting for a solution or response from Oneplus. Currently using my phone as a regular 8T (with no cyberpunk theme)
Hmm I just ordered the Cyberpunk edition and now I'm worried we won't be able to update. Maybe the next update will resolve the issue?
Hi,
So I have some good news (I think).
I was trying to flash OxygenOS (Global and EU) on my HydrogenOS (11.0.4.5) Cyberpunk8T. It ended me bricking my device. (Yes, I was fooling around with fastbootd >_<)
I went to this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...l-to-restore-your-device-to-oxygenos.4180837/
and used the MSM tool @OniAraAra linked: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=320230
I was able to get back to HOS (11.0.1.2). So this even downgraded my version, and I had all cyberpunk elements.
Then it hit me. I was trying to figure out how did the sellers flash the global OOS.... and most of xda members here state that their device came on "11.0.4.5.KB05AA ", and it had " SOME Cyberpunk things ".
So I went and did an MSM restore on my Cyberpunk8T HOS (11.0.1.2) to EU OOS 11.0.4.5 (from unbrick-tool thread above). Guess what it worked. I was able to boot to EU OOS 11.0.4.5.
Then right away, I did a local OTA upgrade using full package EU OOS 11.0.5.6 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...l-to-restore-your-device-to-oxygenos.4180837/).
I booted to EU OOS 11.0.5.6, have cyberpunk boot animation, wallpapers, theme, icon pack, and sounds (basically everything, let me know if I should check something specific).
ps: I also heard that local upgrade is not available on Global or India OOS, thats why I tried it on EU. Not sure if one does EU MSM, then flash Global Full OTA locally if that might work or not.
Edit:
Uploading some videos (higher quality might some time to process)

Not really sure. I did try previously local OTA to full EU OOS, but had the bootloop issue similar to international/global OTA.
There is also always the possibility that seller did not do proper global MSM revert? or that going to HOS and then again to OOS might do the trick? (not really sure here, I am just stating random possibilities)
Good thing is one can easily test using MSM tool to revert back.

That is pretty much what I am looking for! Cyberpunk theme with Oxygen OS and OTA updates. It seems from your method you can do the OTA updates. I assume this method will reset the whole phone correct?
Regarding version, does it matter If I use Global or EU? I am in US and everything has been working with phone service with the global OS, just no cyberpunk themes or OTA updates

1) So, it looks like fine to update through full OTA (EU) for me. I wonder if in the future I will have to wait for full OTA updates or can do incremental ones too (won't know until tested in the future).
2) Yes, this method will reset/wipe the phone. (see: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...l-to-restore-your-device-to-oxygenos.4180837/ )
3) Regarding EU vs Global, I think there might be difference in some apps. However, I believe that bands information are stored seperate to the ROM, so EU or Global OOS should work fine from operation stand point. Also, I am not sure about 5G though, as I heard US has different standard or something. Not sure if that is also affected by OOS verison (I think it should be hardware thing though).

When doing full OTA, does that wipe your phone? just wondering because im worried ill have to wipe everytime o get an update. regardless i will be testing your trick later on today !
Has anyone done this? I would like to use the EU version, because of the lack of apps and full updates coming out faster.
I'm on global and getting monthly updates and two this month almost back to back. I don't understand why you would want to attempt this. Anything is possible with these unlocked devices though now. And most of us have msm tools available if not. I love my device the way it is. Good luck!

Yes done and easy. Done it 2 months ago. (Updated 3 times).
Just put the FULL EU version on your SD and local flash .... Done
Or better still; use Oxygen updater from the play store and change your device to EU version. EU updates will be automatic from now on.

I get the updates for the Global one, too, but there are a couple issues. The last full global update is a few versions back. I am rooted with Magisk, and the last time I did a restore in Magisk, updated OTA, and Magisk direct install into inactive boot I had to restore back to AA 2.4.4 using fastboot and OTA update before re-rooting.
The two reasons I was thinking about going to the EU versoin is that it lacks some bloat that the EU laws made possible, and that updates seem to be very up to date.

Yes. I would only use FULL update files. This isn't my first time. LOL. I also DD'ed the Persist partition into an img. Does the EU version have the local update in System Updates? Just curious. I saw that the TMO version does not. I ask because my typical upgrade path, that I did on the OP6T, was restore boot img in Magisk, install using the local upgrade, and Install to Inactive Slot in Magisk. (Edit: Yes it does) Is there a MSM Tool for the Global, just in case? (Edit: Found MSM in XDA forums for OP9)
Edit: I just did the upgrade to BA/EU version. I went from AA 2.5.5 to BA 2.5.5. Didn't wipe the data and seems to work fine! Now on 11.2.6.6 LE25BA!!!!!! My upgrade from BA 2.5.5 to BA 2.6.6 worked perfectly.
One more question. Does anyone know why OnePlus is using the Google OTA servers on the AA version? If this was not the case, then I would not be looking into doing this.

DA is India
BA is EU
From this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/oneplus-9-rom-ota-oxygen-os-repo-of-oxygen-os-builds.4254579/ I would say you should not crossflash the DA version.
Quote from the thread: "Furthermore, Indian units (LE2111) lack wireless charging, therefore it may not be possible for them to crossflash to EU or global build."
I seen you mention the LE2111 is the Indian.

That is the Chinese unit. Global is LE2115 (AA). EU is LE2113 (BA). India is LE2111 (DA).
Sounds like your unit was converted from ColorOS to OxygenOS. I do not know if you can safely go to the BA/EU version.
It came in the Box with Oxygen. Also I do have wireless charging.
Ive been on BA when I did 1.2.5.5
Only thing im tryna figure out is the best signal. Which one has the nest signal for Google Fi(which they dont support OnePlus 9) it runs on T-Mobile. I get about 50mb a sec which aint to bad.
So the Chinese and India unit both have DA? One just has wireless charging I assume

So the Chinese and India unit both have DA? One just has wireless charging I assume

To my understanding, neither the China phone LE2110 (ColorOS) nor the India phone LE2111 (OxygenOS - DA version) have wireless charging. If you convert from ColorOS to OxygenOS, the downgrade process outlined on XDA (which is awesome) converts you to the DA version. I just did it last night with no issue.
I'm now on 11.2.2.2.LE25DA and getting prompts to update via OTA to 11.2.7.7.LE25DA
Anyone have the Full OTA of 11.2.7.7 AA?
Or is there anyway to downgrade to 1.2.4.4?
I would like to try the Global version

Im on 1.2.7.7DA though?
The website only has 1.2.4.4.
What's the difference between the Global Version and the Europe Version?
Which one has Built In Call Recording?
Done through Oxygen Updater.
Thanks all.

Fully agree.
Yes done and easy. Done it 2 months ago. (Updated 3 times).
Just put the FULL EU version on your SD and local flash .... Done
Or better still; use Oxygen updater from the play store and change your device to EU version. EU updates will be automatic from now on.

When I change my device to EU version I'm getting a warning message that I've selected the wrong device and that my system is up to date even though I have the prompt for 11.2.7.7 - is this normal?
Also when you say to local flash - what tool are you using to do this or are you already rooted?

I believe he means the local upgrade. So, you download the full rom to your phone, then choose local upgrade in software update in settings on the phone itself.
Please be sure you have the right file and know exactly what to do and when, cos I'm not responsible for a bricked device.

Thanks. So I figured it out. You need to also select advanced settings in the updater app to allow the upgrade to a different regional Rom - or at least it only worked for me when I did that. I'm now on 11.2.7.7ba.
Cheers
Question.
Never understood the kernals or bands fully.
Changing from BA or AA or what im on now DA doesnt change my cellular speeds correct?
I have my own weird question about my unlocked AA 8/128. So perusing the interwebs, I found a dual sim tray. My Tmob sim was not recognized in the second slot with my visible sim in the primary. Does the EU version support dual sim? I ask bc my battle plan is to back up modems, etc in TWRP, flash EU firmware, and then restore modems. Anyone think my logic is sound and that will work if I want Visible and Mint on the same op9? Thanks in advance.
Hey all,
I bought a new OnePlus 8 5g T-mobile phone for my wife. She's on the RedPocket annual GMSA/ATT plan. I've stopped the auto OO11 update and I've gone into *#*#4636#*#* and selected "LTE Only" for the connection type (like I did with my old OP6) but it doesn't stick after a reboot.
My real question is:
Since 4G LTE seems to work properly with the T-Mobile stock OS, what are the reasons for converting over to the international version?
Will 4G still work after I update it to OO11.x? I don't mind it having the T-Mobile boot or bloat. I have mostly disabled/uninstalled the apps she doesn't need.
Thanks!!!
The Global version of the ROM can still get OTA updates, and gets them MUCH faster. For example always on display hit global firmware, than hit T-Mobile firmware like 7 months later. Same with Android 11, hitting T-Mobile devices a few months later than global.
T-Mobile also has bloatware that is NON-disable-able, even with adb commands. Unless your rooted, your stuck with it. And some of the package names are cleverly named so you wouldn't assume its anything bad.
You might not care about T-Mobile bloatware, but also remember it has spyware, and even if you don't really "care" about it, every time T-Mobile collects more of your data and pings it back to their servers, thats taking up recources/data on your phone, and by consequence, battery life suffers.
And T-Mobile devices collect A LOT of data, even if your not using them as your mobile provider.
Am I making it sound worse than it is? Probably. Doesn't mean everything I said isn't valid. But yes if you decide to convert to global data will work just fine.

@FoxyDrew Thank you for the explanation.
Just wondering about this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...nternational-with-bootloader-re-lock.4345305/
Do you follow the 1st part, followed by the last update? Is this the best way to install the global version?
Thanks again!!

np man, that guide is very complicated for no reason, converting to global is rather simple, but it's a 3 step process. This all assumes you can unlock your bootloader though.
1.) MSM back to stock T-Mobile Android 10 firmware. Specifically this one. This will re-lock your BL if its unlocked.
2.) Let that boot up, go into settings to enable OEM unlocking, and then unlock the bootloader.
3.) Once the bootloader is unlocked, flash THIS global Android 10 ROM via fastboot. There's a flash-all.bat file to make it simple. Once you've finished this step your essentially done, and on global firmware, you just need to...
4.) Boot the phone up and take the OTA update in settings to Android 11. There will be 2 OTAs to take, one FULL OTA to Android 11, than an incremental one to the latest Android 11 build
Optionally afterwards you can re-lock your bootloader, or keep it unlocked and root if that's what you/she wants.
If you're not familiar with MSM tool, and the drivers it needs, check out this thread.
