Question Notification sound separated from ring and nav button order mods?! - Google Pixel 7 Pro

Greetings to all,
I am on stock rooted December firmware. I badly miss two features on pixel 7 pro. Does anyone know if there two mods exist?
1. Separate ring from notification tone?
2. Swap back and recent button order in the navigation bar?
Thanks in advance

On the QPR2 Beta 1 build that came out last Monday, Google started testing separating notification and ringer volumes. For those on that build, you can enable it with the following adb command:
adb shell device_config put systemui volume_separate_notification true
or in terminal
su -c device_config put systemui volume_separate_notification true
So it appears this feature may show up soon. Maybe when they release the stable QPR2 build in March.
In the meantime, this app works well to separate those.

AOSP Mods allows for swapping back and recent buttons and works well on the December firmware for stock that I am currently running. I don't believe it has the notification sounds to separate, but looks like you have a workaround from the previous reply.

I had not read that before but yes I am on December build on stock, But I am using a Canary Build for AOSP which I should have mentioned and everything is working for me.

"So it appears this feature may show up soon. Maybe when they release the stable QPR2 build in March."
This used to be a standard feature back in the day. I have yet to find a 3rd party app that can truly separate the two volumes. Many say they can but they cannot. They may show two separate volume controls but when you move the one...the other moves right along with it. So I truly hope that Google brings this back!

I hope that they'd think to bring navigation button swap order too.

This app "PhoneProfilesPlus" has an option to separate the ring and notification sounds, and quite a bit more options but thought I would share it with you if you still need.

And just to confirm, every option on the Canary build of AOSP mods works "at least for myself" with the December stock build including the swap/invert navigation bar. I am an ex 5 year Samsung phone user so the invert/swap nav buttons is a must for me but use at your own discretion!!

@Oc4u74
Yes I am using Asop mod for navigation button.
I can't find the Phone profile plus. Any picture or link of it please?

Nah I'm not using anything of the sort, and yeah I dunno what the deal is. I tried both apex and nova prime. The only app I seem to have it work with it the XDA app.
I'll try reflashing.

Gave Tesla 1.8 and tipsy a try the other day, I prefer Tesla due to a few small differences, but GZ ROMs make and has made great ROMs for flo. Thanks.
Bump for excellence. Tipsy 1.4 just came out, giving that a run right now, but hope we see an update nonetheless. Tesla is sick.

That's the impression I got too. I saw that other devices are up to Tesla 1.9.1, and got a bit jealous lol. In all seriousness though, the last few gz rom releases for flo have few dls. Understandable why they don't build flo more regularly. Tipsy 1.4 is awesome, but I always preferred Tesla.

Absolutely excellent ROM, many thanks to GZ ROMs.

I don't ever use system sounds, can't confirm. Gesture input doesn't seem to work on the stock keyboard, may just be due to the gapps I use, may try a different package or take a look at the .libs in /system/app/latinIME. Overall, awesome though, like the light theming and reboot animation a lot. The kernel adiutor tile and breathing notifications alone are huge additions, not to mention the theming.

Samsung's New Notification/Lockscreen App

Hey all.. I don't think I've seen a post about this so I thought I'd be the first to give you all a heads-up on Samsung's new lock app called Good Lock. It's a fairly new app and I'm sure they'll make improvements. It pretty much changes your lockscreen, notifications tray, and recent tabs. Let me know what you think of the app.
**Apparently some rooted users are having various problems (constant reboot and randomly uninstalls itself), so keep that in mind...
You can download this in the Galaxy App store

I downloaded this today, and so far I like it! I wasn't sure at first, but the more that I use it, the more I enjoy it.
I like the new notifications menu. Looks a lot like stock Android. Wish u could use a custom lockscreen wallpaper, but besides that, it's pretty cool! I'm surprised that Samsung created something like this.
To answer your question, I'm pretty sure that those icons are from a previous theme. I haven't found any icon customization with this app
I tried the app, but it uninstalled itself after a bit playing around with it. It looked better than the stock lock screen and notification area (although I don't like the colours) and I'd like to keep the app. Is there a way to prevent that the app is automatically uninstalled?
In Nova Launcher pulling notification bar down is not flawless if you use gesture...
Just a warning that it doesn't work with rooted devices. I made the mistake of installing it on my rooted S7 and it caused constant reboots.
I've also uninstalled in for ithe time being because it didn't work with my Samsung led case. it kept asking for location. I've never had the uninstall problem or reboot problem. you can change the lockscreen by going to Samsung settings. I really hope they polish the app a bit more.

So far, I'm liking Good Lock. just a couple weird things. Looks like you no longer can customize the quicksettings tiles, and the recent apps switcher is much better, but if you use the button to bring it up and dismiss it (also using the button) then it goes to the Home App instead of the app I was in.

Are you rooted? If not, that explains why the reboot issue would never have happen for you.
Downloading now.
I tried it and uninstalled within minutes. The recent apps is horrible - separate chrome tabs are now nameless icons making it useless to find the tab you wanted, and I like having a preview of the open apps. Also, as mentioned, the MM notification draw pulldown bug in Nova is present, which drives me insane. And no lockscreen wallpaper choices, no thanks. The only reason I'd want to use it is the more stock android look, and that you can finally double tap a notification on the lockscreen to open it, which should be a thing on the current lockscreen anyway.

[BACKPORT][6.0.1+] Pixel Launcher P-4275643 from Google Pixel 2

Pixel Launcher P-4275643 Backport for Android 6.0.1+

So... Here we are again, the title says it all.
This is a quick (I spent 3 hours on it) backport of the Pixel Launcher P-4275643, extracted from the Pixel 2 images. I'ved tested it on my SHIELD Tablet, and as it wasn't working, I modded it so that it'd work just fine on any Android 6.0.1+ devices.
I have implemented the Google's signature verification patch, as according to this thread so that the application doesn't Force Close on launch, as well as all the goodies from the Pixel Launcher OMR1-4113793 v4 backport.
I've tested the application in my SHIELD Tablet running official LineageOS 13.0 nightlies, as well as in my Wileyfox Swift 2 with Android 7.1.2, and seems to be working like a charm when there's no substratum overlays enabled with latest Google Play Services installed.
However, like last time I'd like to roll call all of you to please, test it and report back with any issue you find.
DOWNLOAD LINK
SMALI MODIFICATIONS
NOTE:
- DO NOT MIRROR MY FILES, please.
- The background color of the App Drawer won't look blue in Samsung devices, like last times, as I fixed it to look white.
- The apk, like last time, has been signed with my own key, so uninstall any previous versions before installing this one
- Bloggers! YouTubers! If you post links to this backport PLEASE, be sure NOT to make mirrors of it, and, it'd be awesome if you mentioned the original author in your blog posts.
- ¡Bloggeros! ¡YouTubers! Si posteais enlaces de éste backport, POR FAVOR, NO lo resubais, y, estaría genial si mencionárais quién es el autor del mismo.
- Do you want to get Android O emojis? Check this out.
- No, still no reflection.engine crashes :laugh:

Special thanks to P4Block for having to hear me screaming when the code doesn't work, and Jose (in case you read this, <3)
First of all, thanks for the port!! Finally it works for Android 6 ??
I tried in my Blackview R6 (Mediatek chip), and it works good, but sometimes, the launcher crashes doing actions like making a folder in the main screen.
But I'm sure next updates will solve this problem (or maybe it's just me ??).... Thanks so much!

Thank you very much, was waiting for someone to fix the blue folder background on Samsung devices.
Only thing that doesn't work is the weather at the top (and yes, I enabled location permissions).

Im having the same exact issue on my LG G Stylo. The clock widget looks like yours missing the time and date. I have stock 6.0 for android and funny enough the version made for 7.0+ works fine but also has the same issue with the click widget. I also notice in both that one the app tray is flicked open, smoothness goes out the door.. pretty choppy. I read in the other forum people with the Galaxy S8 were getting some choppy animations with the app tray open.
Found a bug: in my home screen, if I click an app icon and move it immediately (before the vibration, indicating that I'm moving that app), I return to my previously used launcher and that designation of my default launcher gets reset. Also no Google Now
Otherwise, it's working well.
I'm using Redmi Note 4 MTK, Android 6. Thanks for developing such a lightweight launcher

After using devices like Asus , LG ,samsung and others i came across xiaomi's MIUI .Being a custom rom fan it was too hard to look at miui notification . Those notification style was cancerous . Miui offers a lot in terms of customization and theming.when it comes to notification it s**ks . My device came with android 6 installed so i thought when xiaomi would provide update to nougat the notifications would become better , but that didn't happen so I was left in pain and agony:silly:
So users i present you an app called MATERIAL NOTIFICATION SHADE to overcome your pain and agony too :highfive:
This free app is a flexible replacement for your notification shade; it not only skins the bar and alerts, but also lets you expand them as you would with stock Android. You can also move around the toggles for functions like Wi-Fi and mobile data.
It’s a small, but essential fix for a problem that quickly gets out of hand,so helpful apps like this are a godsend. :silly:
INSTALLATION REQUIREMENT:
miui installed
the above mentioned app
patience
brain ......,(follow the onscreen instructions)
why to install this app ?
why not ? Its free . minimum android version requirement is 5.0 . It changes the look of your notification shade which it is meant to do .
Isn't that enough for you ,eh ?

Was eagerly waiting for some magic for the notification on miui . thanks @Boomshiva for bringing this to light:good:
If this works, it is going to be amazing and revolutionizing for MIUI.
Material notification shade is great, but with MIUI 8.5 on my unrooted Mi5s it needs to be reactivated manually after every reboot, which is very frustrating. I granted the app autostart and every permission, is there a fix for this?
great great app
but i found 2 issues
1- when i activate flash light it lighten the dual tone flash ...( the stock one only lighten the white flash which is more convenient )
2- when i pull down from anywhere on home screen it shows the old nitofication style...to open the new one i have to slide from the status bar itself
thanks and keep it up

Hey, I had the same problem with my Redmi Note 4. All we have to do is open the recent apps, and instead of sliding all of them up, you slide down the Material Notification Shade app and then you'll see the option "lock". It'll be always open

Personally, I wouldn't call that an issue but working as intended.
At least that's how android has always handled notifications.
@op Thanks!
The awful MIUI notifcation system has been my biggest gripe and main reason to think about flashing a custom rom. It's gotten slightly less bad with the latest MIUI 9.2 update but still looks like crap.
This might fix it. :good:

Hey, I had the same problem with my Redmi Note 4. All we have to do is open the recent apps, and instead of sliding all of them up, you slide down the Material Notification Shade app and then you'll see the option "lock". It'll be always open

Personally, I wouldn't call that an issue but working as intended.
At least that's how android has always handled notifications.
@op Thanks!
The awful MIUI notifcation system has been my biggest gripe and main reason to think about flashing a custom rom. It's gotten slightly less bad with the latest MIUI 9.2 update but still looks like crap.
This might fix it. :good:

Glad u guys like this app . Now move to playstore and give some ? there as that would be more beneficial . Thank you
Hi thanks for the app, I am using it right now.
I am on epic rom and I have to point that some toggles do not behave as they should be.
For example the auto brightness toggle is not changing anything, also the night mode toggle do not change the color of the screen.
Except these this is a good app.
Thank you very very much!
my gps and aeroplane mode does not work. using redmi note 4

Hi XDA community, here's the support thread for my Substratum theme.
For the time being I've themed only AoD home button and navbar with some cool styles and animations, but I'm planning to theme a lot of other things.
The theme is open source! https://github.com/allezacc/SystemUiOverlaysSamsung
I suggest you to join telegram support chat, here's the invite to link: https://t.me/joinchat/DRdNQUoL8JsMkKyL708-pQ
Thanks to these guys that helped for making this theme possible:
@marco_wack
@shizzel
@envy~
@OhayouBaka (make sure to check his theme too https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/themes/theme-statusbar-icons-extras-samsung-t3658050)
@skricciolo1981
@svandasek
and many more!
FAQ:
1) Does it work on Oreo beta? Yes, use OREO ONLY variant.
2) Does it work on Nougat? Yes, use NOUGAT ONLY variant.
3) "It doesn't work on latest oreo beta!1!11"
It works on latest oreo beta, but Samsung messed up a few Substratum things.
So the new procedure to apply is:
- install the overlay with substratum
- reboot and activate the overlay with substratum(not in the manager)
You'll need to do this procedure only once, next time it will apply fine.

This is great! Thank you for adding to the Samsung substratum community, something that is getting bigger every day but is still way too small. I installed your theme and checked out all the navbars. I'm curious about one thing:
My favorite is the pixel 2 one, largely because I love the animation. I noticed though that it's almost (and maybe is) identical to the one in the statusbars for substratum theme. I noticed you thanked him in the op, so was that something you worked on together? Or used the same source? Or maybe it's not actually the same at all and yours is different underneath ?
I'm also curious what your plans are for future updates. Plans for a donate version? (Id happily donate/buy a donate version as I do to support all Samsung sub developers). Particularly Samsung needs more actual system theme options for things like settings and the qs section, and we only have 1 other theme for statusbar and lockscreen mods. Curious to know where you are wanting to take this!

Well, the navbar is the same. A guy made it in my old thread, and then i colored the pngs for the animation on oreo and ohayoubaka added them to his theme.
For donations, i will add soon PayPal link and in the future i plan to put the theme on play store with a donate version too. I will theme for sure status bar and qs too
Been looking for something like this, but just to be correct I need to have substratum to install correctly on Oreo beta?

if you're rooted you don't need to pay for Andromeda addon
Thanks master
The Pixel 2 Oreo home navbar is low res when on a light background.
Hi Zaacc, I installed it via Substratum and andromeda. Worked ok for 1 day. My battery went flat and once it was charged, the nav bar disappeared. Now it suggested it has the latest version but it wont let me enable. Same applies with the status bar LTE. Any fixes? Its quite frustrating as theres nothing online on how to fix it.... Thanks.
