After using devices like Asus , LG ,samsung and others i came across xiaomi's MIUI .Being a custom rom fan it was too hard to look at miui notification . Those notification style was cancerous . Miui offers a lot in terms of customization and theming.when it comes to notification it s**ks . My device came with android 6 installed so i thought when xiaomi would provide update to nougat the notifications would become better , but that didn't happen so I was left in pain and agony:silly:
So users i present you an app called MATERIAL NOTIFICATION SHADE to overcome your pain and agony too :highfive:
This free app is a flexible replacement for your notification shade; it not only skins the bar and alerts, but also lets you expand them as you would with stock Android. You can also move around the toggles for functions like Wi-Fi and mobile data.
It’s a small, but essential fix for a problem that quickly gets out of hand,so helpful apps like this are a godsend. :silly:
INSTALLATION REQUIREMENT:
miui installed
the above mentioned app
patience
brain ......,(follow the onscreen instructions)
why to install this app ?
why not ? Its free . minimum android version requirement is 5.0 . It changes the look of your notification shade which it is meant to do .
Isn't that enough for you ,eh ?

Was eagerly waiting for some magic for the notification on miui . thanks @Boomshiva for bringing this to light:good:

If this works, it is going to be amazing and revolutionizing for MIUI.

Material notification shade is great, but with MIUI 8.5 on my unrooted Mi5s it needs to be reactivated manually after every reboot, which is very frustrating. I granted the app autostart and every permission, is there a fix for this?

great great app
but i found 2 issues
1- when i activate flash light it lighten the dual tone flash ...( the stock one only lighten the white flash which is more convenient )
2- when i pull down from anywhere on home screen it shows the old nitofication style...to open the new one i have to slide from the status bar itself
thanks and keep it up

Because it works as quick setting..use nova launcher and set pull down gesture to quick setting.. Hope then it will work

Hey, I had the same problem with my Redmi Note 4. All we have to do is open the recent apps, and instead of sliding all of them up, you slide down the Material Notification Shade app and then you'll see the option "lock". It'll be always open

@Boomshiva awesome bro

Great job

Personally, I wouldn't call that an issue but working as intended.
At least that's how android has always handled notifications.
@op Thanks!
The awful MIUI notifcation system has been my biggest gripe and main reason to think about flashing a custom rom. It's gotten slightly less bad with the latest MIUI 9.2 update but still looks like crap.
This might fix it. :good:

Glad u guys like this app . Now move to playstore and give some ? there as that would be more beneficial . Thank you

Hi thanks for the app, I am using it right now.
I am on epic rom and I have to point that some toggles do not behave as they should be.
For example the auto brightness toggle is not changing anything, also the night mode toggle do not change the color of the screen.
Except these this is a good app.

Thank you very very much!

Sorry, android only allows system apps to change location settings.
GPS can be toggled in this app due to an exploit in the AOSP power-toggle-widget.
But for example on Samsung phones, this is not possible (samsung changed the widget settings).
I would if I could. Long click GPS icon will bring you to the location settings page, wich is still faster then browsing to it with the normal settings app.

Unfortunately, it's the same story as I wrote in my previous post.
Android restricts the toggling to system only. I'm not completely sure though, so I'll do some googling again.

In the new version is written, that the trial version is over. But there was never written that this is an trial version. There are only differences between the functions in the beta and the pro.
Wanted to test the app and than buy the pro, but not like this.

I got a suggestion, tell me if you like it (this will gold for all people):
-User will get a 4 day trial of all functions
-After 4 days, you won't be able to use Configure anymore, and the data already configured will be reset
-When you install the PRO version , everything will come back.
Deal or no deal?
Tell me if you have a suggestion too.

I have to tap on the quick settings shortcut on the home screen, otherwise the normal Sense notifications come.
Also, I have to press the back button to go back, swiping up doesnt work.
Didn't want to give a bad rating on Play Store so I posted here.

Is it possible that i get a testers licence?

Sure it does. It's not a statusbar replacement, it just has a UI like it.
About swiping it up: I'm working on this, but bugfixes are more important in my opinion.
You can press the statusbar close shade anyway to close it, it'll do the same as the back button.
Thanks for not giving a bad rating!

Synopsis
Okay so I am working on an app based pie that doesn't require root. It uses accessibility services to manage itself. Please don't tell me how we have so many variants of pie, if you are not a fan just move on. My long term goal is to diverge from what current variants have. I created this due to the shutdown nature of the new pie for PA 4+. I have yet to implement a lot of features. I am just throwing this out there to get both ideas and bug reports. Suggestions and requests are welcome but I promise nothing.
Current Features
Code:
- pie controls
- custom coloring
- autostart
- works in landscape and portrait
- system wide function (minus lockscreen and notification panel)
- pie custom sizing
- trigger area custom sizing (width and height)
- cm11 theme support (pulls navbar icons from the system now)
Goals (not promises)
Code:
- gravity other than bottom
- clock
- notifications
- google now/search access
- [STRIKE]custom sizing[/STRIKE] DONE
- animations
- notifications and quick toggle access (like in 4.3 version of pie)
- [STRIKE]themeable (via cm11)[/STRIKE] DONE
- per app coloring
- appstore support
- icon and slicker UI (I could use help with icon)
Bugs
Code:
- having pie up while screen lock requires reboot to end
- occasional pie gets stuck (reboot will fix)
Downloads

[URL="https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxTrKYFvIq0JaklXYTJQOEd6bE0/edit?usp=sharing"]Version 0.0.1a[/URL]
Changelog
Code:
Version 0.0.4
- recoding of detection code to boost performance
- support for sound (not integrated yet)
Version 0.0.3
- quick fix to bug introduced in 0.0.2 where landscape pie wouldn't work
Version 0.0.2
- slight redesign (added gap between buttons)
- recoded pretty much everything, the old code was ugly and not modular
in order to the most basic things I would have to do a lot of coding and
going forward that is not good
- custom pie sizing, you can now choose small, medium, large
- custom trigger sizing, increase the size of the trigger if you find it too
small the only problem with this is accidental hits will be more common.
I added this last second so you need to reboot to apply (I will fix this in
the next update)
- CM11 and custom firmware theme support. It now pulls your navbar buttons
from your systemUI so it will look like your CM11 theme or touchwiz or sense
Version 0.0.1
- initial release
How to Use
Turns out a few people were confused on how to use this. Swipe up from the bottom to activate, go over the button you want to use and then release on it.

Yeah that's the goal. The only thing I would add root for is for people to hide their navbar if they have one. Otherwise all the functions I have in the app will go without root
Okay so apparently this doesnt work well with xposed enabled. Its works but its a hit and miss. Like some times registers it other times it activates google now. I will give it another try with xposed disabled.
And one more thing it doesnt seem to work in landscape. Dont know why but I shall check.
The customization features do work and they are pretty good. Simple yet powerful.
I shall keep messing around with it for more time.
EDIT:- On second try. I tried it on my note 2 and it works perfectly I think the only problem I am having is becuz main device has on screen navigation bar that's why. So if u have hardware keys u will be all right. On screen buttons might need some work.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes this is meant to replace navbar (on screen buttons). If you use gravitybox or a variety of other stuff you can hide the navbar.
Thanks again and I am working on a big update so stay tuned.
And for landscape it always puts it on the bottom of the phone so in landscape it will be on the long side down. Try that.
Subscribed, will keep an eye on this project as I'm a big fan of pie navigation.

Same issue with me. I tried it on Moto e 4.4.2 (not rooted). it doesnt have hard buttons. well i'll try a reboot i guess. but apart from "enabl/disable service" and "color" options. no other option works in settings. you probably have not made them available yet i guess since its alpha. but just reporting.
EDIT: After reboot got toast message that DBPie auto started" But nothing else happened.
Sounds interesting
This app sounds great, specially that you don't need root. But i almost don't see the purpose, at least for me because if my phone is non rooted this app would work (which at the moment it is not, have it enable but nothing happens) but to remove my on screen nav buttons i would need to be rooted. Unless I'm missing something, I've never found a way to permanently remove the nav buttons (and have the keyboard work) without having to be rooted, which at that point I would just use lmt. I look forward to the app progressing but would like a way to give the nav bar within this app and not need root. Thanks
Same problem as stated above. I have nexus 5 running 4.4.4
Well I guess apologies. Its working alright. But hard to make it appear. The space to enable it for devices having onscreen keys is bit too small ..
Have to touch edge of top border of existing onscreen keys to make it appear
Here is ss

If this would completely replace the onscreen buttons on my Moto G I would pay for the app instantly. I think the constant onscreen buttons are a waste of screen.

It's called flux, it's one of my favorites. It's a cm11 theme so you need a custom ROM (I use Paranoid Android)

Samsung's New Notification/Lockscreen App

Hey all.. I don't think I've seen a post about this so I thought I'd be the first to give you all a heads-up on Samsung's new lock app called Good Lock. It's a fairly new app and I'm sure they'll make improvements. It pretty much changes your lockscreen, notifications tray, and recent tabs. Let me know what you think of the app.
**Apparently some rooted users are having various problems (constant reboot and randomly uninstalls itself), so keep that in mind...

I downloaded this today, and so far I like it! I wasn't sure at first, but the more that I use it, the more I enjoy it.
I like the new notifications menu. Looks a lot like stock Android. Wish u could use a custom lockscreen wallpaper, but besides that, it's pretty cool! I'm surprised that Samsung created something like this.
To answer your question, I'm pretty sure that those icons are from a previous theme. I haven't found any icon customization with this app
I tried the app, but it uninstalled itself after a bit playing around with it. It looked better than the stock lock screen and notification area (although I don't like the colours) and I'd like to keep the app. Is there a way to prevent that the app is automatically uninstalled?
In Nova Launcher pulling notification bar down is not flawless if you use gesture...
Just a warning that it doesn't work with rooted devices. I made the mistake of installing it on my rooted S7 and it caused constant reboots.
I've also uninstalled in for ithe time being because it didn't work with my Samsung led case. it kept asking for location. I've never had the uninstall problem or reboot problem. you can change the lockscreen by going to Samsung settings. I really hope they polish the app a bit more.
Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
So far, I'm liking Good Lock. just a couple weird things. Looks like you no longer can customize the quicksettings tiles, and the recent apps switcher is much better, but if you use the button to bring it up and dismiss it (also using the button) then it goes to the Home App instead of the app I was in.

Are you rooted? If not, that explains why the reboot issue would never have happen for you.
Downloading now.
I tried it and uninstalled within minutes. The recent apps is horrible - separate chrome tabs are now nameless icons making it useless to find the tab you wanted, and I like having a preview of the open apps. Also, as mentioned, the MM notification draw pulldown bug in Nova is present, which drives me insane. And no lockscreen wallpaper choices, no thanks. The only reason I'd want to use it is the more stock android look, and that you can finally double tap a notification on the lockscreen to open it, which should be a thing on the current lockscreen anyway.

[BACKPORT][6.0.1+] Pixel Launcher P-4275643 from Google Pixel 2

Pixel Launcher P-4275643 Backport for Android 6.0.1+

So... Here we are again, the title says it all.
This is a quick (I spent 3 hours on it) backport of the Pixel Launcher P-4275643, extracted from the Pixel 2 images. I'ved tested it on my SHIELD Tablet, and as it wasn't working, I modded it so that it'd work just fine on any Android 6.0.1+ devices.
I have implemented the Google's signature verification patch, as according to this thread so that the application doesn't Force Close on launch, as well as all the goodies from the Pixel Launcher OMR1-4113793 v4 backport.
I've tested the application in my SHIELD Tablet running official LineageOS 13.0 nightlies, as well as in my Wileyfox Swift 2 with Android 7.1.2, and seems to be working like a charm when there's no substratum overlays enabled with latest Google Play Services installed.
However, like last time I'd like to roll call all of you to please, test it and report back with any issue you find.

Special thanks to P4Block for having to hear me screaming when the code doesn't work, and Jose (in case you read this, <3)
First of all, thanks for the port!! Finally it works for Android 6 ??
I tried in my Blackview R6 (Mediatek chip), and it works good, but sometimes, the launcher crashes doing actions like making a folder in the main screen.
But I'm sure next updates will solve this problem (or maybe it's just me ??).... Thanks so much!

Thanks for your kind comment.
I know why this happens (notice that it only crashes when the pop-up menu that handles the DeepLinks hasn't fully opened yet), and I'm already working on bringing a fix to it.
Please, be patient!
Thank you very much, was waiting for someone to fix the blue folder background on Samsung devices.
Only thing that doesn't work is the weather at the top (and yes, I enabled location permissions).

I supposed it was my device's fault since I don't have the Google app installed. But, it's probably related to this:

Im having the same exact issue on my LG G Stylo. The clock widget looks like yours missing the time and date. I have stock 6.0 for android and funny enough the version made for 7.0+ works fine but also has the same issue with the click widget. I also notice in both that one the app tray is flicked open, smoothness goes out the door.. pretty choppy. I read in the other forum people with the Galaxy S8 were getting some choppy animations with the app tray open.
Found a bug: in my home screen, if I click an app icon and move it immediately (before the vibration, indicating that I'm moving that app), I return to my previously used launcher and that designation of my default launcher gets reset. Also no Google Now
Otherwise, it's working well.
I'm using Redmi Note 4 MTK, Android 6. Thanks for developing such a lightweight launcher
It lookzs good with navigation bar but the opposite without navbar (looks ugly to me).
Btw, still i appreciate ur work dude, keep it up.

Currently iam testing this app. I think iam very much happy with the test. Will suggest this to my friends.
The plus point i noticed in this app is , it do not require any usage or accessibility permissions.

There is a delay of 2 to 3 seconds for the app to show animation, and that can be really notable with naked eye . When I click home button it won't show animation immediately after 2,3 seconds it starts to show up.
good app . looks nice and fluid very material good to know they are developers who care about material design..
bought the pro version
good job
edit: it works very well with my s8+ with an overlay navbar thank you
Im currently using it.. and found that it approximately uses 110 MB of RAM which is quite large.. please try to fix it
Thank you for this item. Nice working.
Are long press functionalities still working ?
Great app ever but free overlays are very less?
Nice app. Needs some improvements.
But lags a lot in a Snapdragon 400 device with 1 GB of RAM. I'm using falcon with RR 5.8.5. Sometimes the animation gets stuck in the middle and stays there forever.
But I don't expect it to work super fluid on a device like falcon because of hardware limitation.
Pretty interesting. Trying it out now. Awesome that it doesn't need root or xposed
**(Update)**
Very sporadic on my LG V20 H918. It mainly only activates on my home button and then will play a few more times randomly without even touching the navbar.
Animations are pretty cool though. Nice & smooth and the animation speed setting is a good idea.
Definitely looking forward to this app's progression ?
Working Nice.:good:
Tesla ROM N on honor5x 2gb RAM. Will check battery.
Downloaded the app and checked out the free animations, since those ones were well made I decided to buy pro. But I've noticed there's a slight delay between pressing the button and seeing the animation. Also when I switch apps by pressing the recents key twice the animation plays which looks odd. I'm not a developer but I think this app would work better with Accessibility services listening for a home button press.

The animation is played after the home button is pressed, so definitely there is very small delay which is not noticeable. A 2-3 second delay means the issue is device specific, most probably due to low RAM. I will try to minimize the existing small delay in the future updates.

Hi, its strange that the animations play randomly on your phone. However there is a small issue where you press the recents button and select an app and the animation plays, may be that is what you are talking about?
Thank you! Do stay tuned for new animations and updates.
Works really well on Pixel XL with stock Android 8.0.
Only downside - I now have two additional persistent notifications: one from the system (app running in the background) and one from the app itself.

Hi Andrew, I'll make sure to find a solution and get rid of the notifications in a future update, thanks!
