Hi guys, after last update (December patch) when I try to lock the phone with double tap, the screen lock and immediately show the lockscreen. Many users on a Facebook group encountered this problem, only using a third part launcher.
It's annoying because if I lock the screen when I have the phone in front of me, it unlock immediately because of face unlock (no, I use that function and will not remove it).
Someone figured out a way to fix this? I've tried everything but it doesn't works, in no way.

I use Nova (beta 8.03) and I am on the December patch, and I do not have a problem with double tap. My setting is Gestures/Inputs / Double tap set to screen lock. Screen Lock method is set to accessibility.

So the problem only appears with third party launchers? Which launcher? I thought that December patch would only be a security update but perhaps it's not so. I'm in November patch still.

Yes, all third party launchers..
I found that Google fixed an issue on Pixels relative to double tap.. maybe fixing that has caused problems to others manufacturers...

not work with nova launcher, smart launcher and all third party launchers (work with default launcher samsung)

This is a bug with Android 7.0, I believe even the pixel had this. It was fixed with the release of Android 7.1 so hopefully Huawei will release an update soon.

It's not an issue with my Nexus 6P in 7.1 neither in 7.0 but it's present on my Mate 9 even with the latest update.
Maybe go to Spotify application in the settings and enable show on lock screen.

I doubt it's that. I also don't have lockscreen controls for Google Play music, and that doesn't appear to have any setting to enable lockscreen controls. It was just there automatically on my Note 3 on Lollipop, but not on my Mate 9.
I have noticed, that Mate 9 doesn't show any notifications on lockscreen, that are alredy during locking. This essentially means, that when song changes in spotify while phone is in sleep mode, and then you wake it up, spotify buttons will be there.
Seems like a bug to me.
It's not a bug. Huawei knows this and the latest update (B138) change log clearly mentions that the issue with third party muzic players on lock screen is fixed.

1. If it's not a bug, then it's intentional. Why would they need to "fix" something that isn't a bug?
2. I'm on B138, and it's not fixed.
Got this problem too on my Mate 8, although Google Play Music controls work on my lockscreen.

Found A Fix!?
I know that on the honor 8 they were broken. Firmware b380 fixes it for the honor 8. I am currently on b183 with my mate 9 and it doesn't work. I have the us unlocked.
Also never had this issue with my HTC 10 when it updated to nougat.

At least for Google Play Music, it's mostly fixed in the latest US firmware (183). The first time you power up the phone to the lock screen after starting music, they aren't there. But if you power it back off, then back on, they are there, and work fine after that.

For me the music controls show up on the lockscreen after it plays the 2nd track onwards.
So you fast forward the first song to the last 10 seconds and lock the screen. When it goes to the next track, the spotify control will pop up on the lockscreen.

Yet strangely, for the newest US update (B183), it's not fixed. Though it is fairly benign since you can just power it off and back on again, and the lock screen controls are there after that.
omg, this is so frustrating, how hard is it to have your Spotify music player displayed on your lock screen...such a basic fundamental need for those commuting, so mighty pissed, slight regret is setting in, I'm missing my Samsung note, I dislike apple because they come across as controlling, now android is morphing into some sort of a control freak also, cannot disable lock screen, now cannot see Spotify, the brightness doesn't auto adjust for the smart sleep cover, had to download an app for that...wtffff....Helppppp

I have found a weird security leak on the Mate 9.
On the lock screen I can access the camera without using fingerprint or pin code. Even when I lock out the camera app with Applock.
Is there a way to remove the camera shortcut on the lock screen ?

Unless you've found something specifically insecure with that method, I don't believe the camera shortcut on the lock screen, in its current design, has any apparent security flaws.
If your concern is access to gallery photos,then I can tell you that only the shots taken at the time the phone is locked can be seen in the gallery/history, not the photos previously taken while the phone was unlocked.

Not Working
Updated yesterday and are happy with the Trusted Faces function from Android Oreo. My Pixel 2 on Android P won't work 90% of the time. The Faces icon on lockscreen just flashes and turns into the finger print icon. Anyone else with the same problem?

Same as you .... So annoying.. definitely a bug, I tried to remove smart lock and reset the phone,but didn't help

Vivo customer service is awesome. The fingerpint not working/appearing issue with the last update, when AOD is off and proximity sensor(infrared sensor) is triggered is FIXED after discussion/video of issue with customer support

I am using Nova Launcher with the Nova Companion for the Google Feed. It was stuttering before and now it runs mch smoother.

Updated to 1.8.10 yesterday and tried using Lens and Assistant this morning but both seem broken. Lens says "thanks for updating, we will be available soon" or something like that. Assistant freezes the phone and won't open at all.
Anyone else have this problem?

Hmm....the stock "launcher" k8nd of restarts several times a day, like I go to home screen and it displays only loading... For a couple of seconds, then the homescreen apears...like after a fresh boot up?!

Happens to me too. Mostly when I go home after browsing the net.
Battery life after update now halved. Not a good update. I reported to support but doubt there will be a solution. Anyone else having poor battery life ?

I am not experiencing any problems everyone else is describing.
For me updated working very nicely. No issues in launcher and camera quality has been improved specially for selfie camera.
0 issues
Double tap to close the screen still doesn't work.
AOD still doesn't work with third party apps (except for WhatsApp).

A double tap to turn off the screen works but on the lock screen. You will wake up with a double throttle to wake up the screen and extinguish it with a double thump.

For the short version i 'd like to know if there is a possibility to skip the lockscreen password when launching a non-stock camera app for the lockscreen shortcut ?
For the longer version :
It all started 6 month ago when i updated my S7 (exynos) with the Oreo update (via OTA). Short after this update, i started to notice some picture taken with my stock camera app were really bad, like compressed for MMS.
The phenomenon seems kinda random and can appear on any light condition (even outiside with good daylight). I factory reseted my phone but the problem remain.
So after a while living with this issue, is installed recently a GCAM prot for S7 which seems to give way better quality than stock (need to be confirmed in the long term). I decided to replace the stock camera app on all the shortcuts on my phone (launcher and lockscreen). And here comes my question :
The password skip function when launching stock camera app is really handy. so is there a way to have the same function on any camera app ? (i would love the same function with the calculator app ^^)
Am i the only one facing stock camera quality issue since oreo udate ? i found no thread in the forum.

You can chose any shortcuts you wish for the lock screen which bypass the screen lock to use, look on the lockscreen setting menu.

Choosing the shortcut is not my problem.
Right now, the only shortcut that skip the password screen is the camera. Even the default phone shortcut doesn't do that.
And I don't have any option in Lockscreen settings to choose which app bypass or not
You have an odd problem I always use the default camera app from the lockscreen and the quality is the same as launching the app from the home screen....I'm guessing is working properly when you lunch it from the launcher?
