NO need is not mandatory.
For those of you that have an inspire 4g and havent rooted yet, today would be good day to do that. The roms are coming starting today. Just flashed this core droid 2.5 rom, mainly cause i love having battery circle mod, and just loaded setcpu to 1.22 gighrz overclock and im now getting 45+ Mflops and 2500+ quadrant scores. Audio working without flashing stock kernel and youtube and other media streaming apps now working aswell. Today is a good day!
Just flashed this ROM..everything is working so far but the audio is tinny
Hoping anyone can post their results with the Rom and if the following is working:
WIFI
Bluetooth
HSUPA Enabled
Hotspot Capable
Audio Quality Okay
Also is an additional Kernel required to get it working on the Inspire?

Yes sir!
WIFI - Working
Bluetooth - Working
HSUPA Enabled - Yes
Hotspot Capable - Yes
Audio Quality Okay - Small amount of static on my end but my girlfriend said everything was perfectly clear from her iphone (I haven't tried any other radios or kernals yet except the telus kernal which worked flawlessly)
EDIT: didnt see your last bit, to answer your question, no you don't need additional kernal, all set after flash

The in-call audio is definitely tinny for me. It sounds like the speaker is shot lol. I've had this problem with all the ROMS I've tried and I always end up going back to stock rooted where the audio quality is perfect.

[ROM][CM6] CM6 Final with FM Addon

Here is a build of CM6 with FM added to it. The only difference is the FM addon. It is the same as the last version of CM6 released.
Install the same way you would cm6. You can upgrade to this with wiping data/cache like normal.

Ok... I tried it... it's just OK. It uses Blutooth somehow and I don't really get how it works. It's a little ghetto, but it works. # outta 10? 6

It doesnt actually use bluetooth. Its just that the chipset that does the bluetooth is the same chipset that does the fm radio. So what its doing is enabling the chipset which means bluetooth gets turned on. But the bluetooth signal doesnt actually have anything to do with the fm radio. This is why you have to have a headset plugged in; the phone uses it as an fm antenna.

The CM series (CyanogendMod) does not have HTC Sense. It is built from Android Open Source Project (AOSP) source.
Yes it is de-oxded.
Yes it supports both Froyo Apps2SD and DT Apps2SD (EXT2/EXT3 support).

Sorry, don't have a link, but it is well known that audio equliser/boosters drain more battery. It says it for iOS in the settings
woooow just tried listening to songs on the desire S with headphones
first without SRS, and then SRS, it sounds so awesome!!
Guess I will have to ditch my cube music player for the htc music app then
To my ears, enabling SRS with the earphones is way too bassy. No EQ is just right. But would be nice if i can manually set the EQ. Also, i'm surprised that the earphones that came with phone is pretty damn good.

Haven't tried them yet because I also can't use anything other than in-ear headphones.
That's why i'm surprised. It's good for a regular earphones.

Hey guys, sorry for reviving old thread.
I'm about to flash custom ROM, is there any way to use SRS without default HTC player? Do custom ROMs support this technology?

[Q] Bluetooth sound quality, is the phone DAC important ?

Title says it all, does the sound quality via bluetooth depends on the DAC of the phone, or does it only relies on the BT emitter/receiver quality ?
Thanks guys.
There is an answer :

Receiver - apart from any eq tweaks in the music app itself.

So it seems the phone almost doesn't matter if you're using A2DP.
If anyone knows how to check if apt-x is actually used, because I can't hear any difference =)
Do the CM10 roms support it ?
Thanks

[ROM] AospExtended v4.6

Hi i found this in 4pda forum. I haven't tried it.
https://cloud.mail.ru/public/AGLC/eABvrHGV8
If there will be someone who can try this let us now how it is going.
I tried it. I had been using this rom for a couple of months before I moved to the official B15. I would say that this version of AOSPExtended 4.6 (developed by NFound) is quite smooth and energy efficient - just slightly less energy efficient than B15. And it seemed to have no bugs at all. By the way, it also has in-built aptX support.

I will give this a try today but i wish there is a stock oreo build existed
This is just to remind that AEX 4.6 is nougat. I guess there's no chance to get the oreo stock rom. I wish NFound would cook an AEX oreo rom for axon 7 mini.
I was testing this rom few month ago

Did you have any issues with the sound output? "the sound of it disgusting, at DA 6.5 at half the volume of the speaker begin to sizzle" (https://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=891109&view=findpost&p=72945005)
This is the Google translation of the post. Maybe someone in here can read the russian original and tell my what is meant by "Out with it"?

<"out with it" >
The author of that post meant that he decided not to use AEX and quit, because he had experienced problems with the sound from the phone speakers when using Dolby Atmos.
I think the solution is to find proper dolby atmos. I used that from Magisk repository.
