Question How to take a Three-finger Screenshot with root? - Google Pixel 7 Pro

Hi! How to take a Three-finger Screenshot? Maybe there is some kind of module for Magisk?

Why not power + volume down? To use three fingers you'll still need to use two hands.
Anyways, sorry. I don't know of a module for that.
EDIT: Another option is to set quick tap for that.
Settings > gestures > quick tap > screenshot, then tap the back of your phone twice

When the phone is on the table, it is more convenient to take a screenshot with three fingers

Also need this.
Had it before on my Motorola. Really missed it when upgrading to Lineage

Any custom ROM has this

AOSP Mods has a feature to take a screenshot with 2 fingers.
Navigation Bar/Gesture Navigation/Two-Finger swipe-up action. Select screen shot

Why not just bring up recent apps by swiping up? When you do that there is a screen shot button that you can press. It also makes it easy to scroll through recent apps that are open and you can take a screenshot of any of them.

[Q] How to take a screen shot on CleanRom5

hey all...i just flashed clean rom 5 and it's working great, however, I cant seem to figure out how to take a screen shot. I've searched the forums and cannot seem to find an answer. Can anyone help? I've tried power and home screen and still nothing...thanks!
How about the palm-swipe?
Lay the side of your hand on the left side of the screen and swipe it all the way to the right side of the screen.
It needs the motions enabled in the Motion control panel, and it's all the way at the bottom of the screen.
Or you could just use the screenshot command that is built into Android ICS and JellyBean.
Simultaneous press the Home button and the Power button to take a screen shot.

Press Home and Power simultaneously, and HOLD until it takes the screenshot (only takes a second or so). This feature is absolutely present in CleanROM. It has also active in every stock build of TouchWIZ that Samsung has put out for our device.

I tried it again and it worked. I must have not been hitting the Home and Power button simultaneously in my previous attempts. Thanks again.:good:

Yeah, like he said you just gotta hold it a sec or two. It's not as responsive as snapping a normal picture thru the camera for instance.

[IDEA] Implementing navigation buttons using finger print sensor.

Guys, I have an idea to implement the navigation keys using the fingerprint sensor. Something like the meizu m3 note. It would give us more real estate on the screen. Can any developer try this?
1. Tap once - homebutton.
2. Tap and hold - recents.
3. swipe left - back button.
If it is possible, but devs dont have time for this. You can tell me how i can do it. i will try my best.
It's clearly kernel stuff and we don't have any kernel developpers for that.. This idea is good but we got a very low chance to get that..

you can hide nav bar with edit build.prop.
install "all in one gesture" and add edge gesture for back home and recent.
you can see my htc a9:

Thanks i was able to do it. The edge gestures require my finger to go all the way to the corner making one hand usage impossible for me. Anyway, Thanks a lot buddy. hope someone will be able to mess around with the fingerprint button and implement this.
I think Xposed Additions should work.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spazedog.xposed.additionsgb
Then you could hide the navbar from build.prop.
Btw, your idea is available on HTC One M9+ through a custom kernel.
any update?
With All In One Gestures (available in Google Play for free) you can still have some of those gestures covered without any hassles or even having your device rooted. Hide your screen navi buttons in settings then define whatever screen gesture you prefer. No customized fingerprint button triggered actions though...only home button functionality.

And Repo: http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.spazedog.xposed.additionsgb
I will test it this weekend.
I miss the optic sensor of my old htc desire, it was usefull for edit text and navigation.
Is it possible to do something like that with the fingerprint sensor? (like a pointer)

Change screenshot gesture/shortcut

I'm currently unrooted and will be rooting towards the start of next month, is there a way to change the way you screenshot? Both rooted and unrooted? I hate the power/volume button combo!!!

Button remapper app will probably let you do it. Or Nova launcher had custom gestures you can set. And probably more options...

Like mentioned above, Nova has gestures that you can set to take screenshots. Since you'll be rooted you should get the Edge Sense Magisk module. This module lets you remap the active edge button to do just about anything. So all you'll have to do is squeeze and your phone will take a screenshot.

[APP] Power Button Flashlight (No Root)

Hello, i was recently experimenting with this Project: https://github.com/epeterson320/flashlight
In android studio. Its a flashlight app with no ui you just tap the icon and the flashlight activates, however i added an intent filter to the android manifest allowing the app to be launched with the "Jump to camera" gesture, this allows you to toggle the flashlight on and off with a double tap of the power button even when the screen is locked.
Instructions
Download and install
Lock phone and double tap power button
Enter your PIN or fingerprint
Select flashlight as default app
This will only work on phones that have the "Jump to camera" gesture. For example Nexus and Pixel phones, OnePlus phones and probably more. It will also replace the camera shortcut obviously. Clear defaults to select camera again.
so yeah hope someone finds this useful
Credit to @epeterson320 for creating the original app.
Download below in attached files
Thank you!!! This is amazing.
Christ this is like the one feature that's a deal breaker for me, Xposed torch is great but not seeing Xposed for android 9 yet; and this works well enough. Great thinking and thank you!
Problem
Hello. I have got a problem. Every time the phone is turned off for a longer period, when i double tap a power button camera turns on instead of flashlight. When I turn off the camera and double tam button again, flashlight works. Have anyone got this problem too? (xz1 compact, 47.2.A.8.24)
Edit: I have found out that when i remove password protection everything works
@James_Ward01 would you be willing to share your source code? I want to see if I can get the app to activate without waking the screen.

The app I have on here for download should work with the screen off as I added both android.media.action.STILL_IMAGE_CAMERA_SECURE
And android.media.action.STILL_IMAGE_CAMERA
Intent filters, the _SECURE one meaning it should work with the screen off. At least this was the case on my Nexus 6p at the time.

It does work with screen off. What I want to accomplish is to keep the screen off when I launch from the lockscreen. I don't want the screen to turn on when I double-press the power button. Maybe this is impossible?

Ah, I don't know then, I'm sure it is possible one way or another but I'm afraid getting that to work is beyond me,
Couldn't get it to work with home button on S10 but works perfectly mapped to Bixby button ????

Yes Samsung don't allow the power button to be remapped unfortunately. Glad you found a use for it though.
This works great on the pixel 5, thanks!!
Confirmed, I was using it as well on pixel 5 until now, thanks!
However, new problem :s I couldn't resist trying out Android 12 Beta 3.1 and then no power button access to flashlight anymore.
Same deal for me : Pixel 4a, was using this app daily when I was under Android 11, did the update to Android 12, not working anymore... Sad

Sorry but I'm not sure to understand how your app may help : We're talking about enabling the flashlight using physical button shortcut.
Maybe I missed something but for me that's not what your app is doing, is it ?
Anyway, I'm using Torchie now and it kinda work : You enable it by pressing Vol+ AND Vol- at the same time, but it ONLY work when you're on the lockscreen and the screen is on.
So : "Power" to wake the screen, "Vol+ and Vol- together" to turn the light on or off
If anybody find something better, let us know. For now, this is a little cumbersome but it's working.
The Tap Tap app on GitHub works for flashlight by double tapping the back of the phone.

Titanium Backup menu access

Yes I have found work around like using navigation buttons and long pressing recents button. But was just curious as to why there isn't an actual button on the app like three dots overflow or something. Thought maybe there was a settings in OOS I was missing. I still would like to hear from others to see if they have same issue as in mu screenshot.

I also have 8.31 (but Pro version). I use navigation gestures and have NO menu button....
I have the same issue as well. I think it's a bug. I've had this issue before too and it went away automatically. The menu button just appeared all of a sudden
I'm on Pro 8.3.1 (N5X and GZosp Pie with Oneplus-like gestures). No menu, neither in 8.2.2.
Solution: tab Overview >problems >settings.
Sorry, it's mentioned in #5 yet.
