IS there a way to block the switch off buttom in the locked screen?
Or a rom that allows it?
I find it necessary in case of loss or theft of the phone but cannot find a rom with that feature

Hi,
I wonder if some of you guys know how lock the keypad and buttons of the Tornado.
My PDA HTC has this option, lock all the buttons except On/Off.
I can't find this funcionality in the Tornado.
When you have the mobile in the pocket, sometimes a call is performed....
Thanks guys.
Lock buttons
Press and hold the red phonebutton to lock the keys. That's one way but I hope there are other ways, 'cause there's no way to lock the buttons without leaving the program you're in at the moment...
...found out that you also can reach this function through the menu you reach when pressing the on/off-button. But it works the same way.
THANKS PTER!!!!
Block phone
Nice way, until now i used locking the keys through settings-protection (7)- block phone (1). Here you can enter a password and also a timeout after the block enters automatically. So I use a single digit password, and is similar the same.
But your way is maybe better, but is there also a feature to acitvate the block automatically?
Also see this forum which has lots of good stuff:

InCall Lock - Lock Send/End buttons on incoming call
InCall Lock will temporarily disable Send (aka Talk, Green) and End (aka Red) hardware buttons when you receive an incoming call in order to prevent accidental call pickups/rejects while you are pulling your device out of your pocket. All other hardware buttons are untouched.
After you answer/reject your call the application will release the buttons, so you will be able to hang up, put calls on hold etc. using hardware buttons normally.
The application, after being launched, will remain resident in memory but will not use any CPU cycles at all as it relies on WM Notification system and doesn't do any polling. As it is using WM internal event system, it should work regardless of OS language, installed dialer etc.
This is a zero config application and has no options (yes, this is a feature). I personally needed an application that would do just this - temporarily block these buttons. If you need a device locker, try PocketShield or other available solutions.
How to use:
* Install attached cab
* Soft reset or launch "InCall Lock Toggle"
* To enable/disable InCall Lock temporarily, use InCall Lock Toggle in your Programs menu.
* To disable it permanently, just uninstall via Settings - Remove Programs

Ciao
Thanks, I'll try.
ALDAS this file is great, its simply what im looking for since 3 hours searching for solution to that problem. but this solution solve my problem 50% since the end key still working and able to hangup any received call. i appropriate it if you give me another file which can block both send and end keys.
im using HTC HD2
thanks for your help, that problem made me thinking to get rid of this phone.
sorry i meant fotone, thanks
Does this exist for android builds? I really want to disable the damned end (red) hangup on a call !
I personally never use the hard call button to make a call, and it is still often a source of accidental calls.
I use Exidler's Hd2ProximityScreenOff, so i don't need in theory a screen lock. Very, very usefull. Some accidental calls have been made though.
Here is what i found so far :
- Vangrieg InCall Lock is great, but works only when a call is received.
- Aebutton plus doesn't help for long press on call button.
- I searched on whole registry for "cprog.exe" (The dialer processus) without interesting founds.
I would be so grateful if someone find a way to remove this call function when pressing the button, if possible using with no process in background ...
Why dont you just enable the lock screen that way you cant accidentally make a call when it comes on.
thank for your reply optiknerv.
with hd2proximityscreenoff, I think we are in a new and intuitive way to use phones, something apple did not patent already ! ;-)
we dont need anymore a screen lock, but kind of key lock can be, in very rare cases, useful.
I guess it is impossible to map this button ...
Have you ever tried AEBPlus??
It locks every kind of key - software keys too - and make them addressable to other application
You'll find it on http://ae.inc.ru

Why insist to map the button? Screen lock solves your problem. Try S2U2 or TLP. They will make sure you don't press the green hard key by accident. If you use proximity to auto unlock, there is no extra action on your side. The green hard key (and the phone) is locked whenever the phone is in your bag or pocket.
thanks you very much alex. touch lock pro solved my problem and can use well proximity sensor after some settings.
Hello
Just received my Sensation. New to Sensation, new to HTC.
From what I have read, there is no stable and reliable S-off method; I hope S-off will be out within 7d ... so that if I brick my phone, I can send it back for free (I have 8d grace time); I would prefer dev S-off over HTC unlock (HTC will not unlock everything, and, my operator ROM may not accept HTC fix). I have found Fr3vo for temp-root (and learnt to use it).
Q1: I have read on Ebay that there are case for 4G and G14; are they two brand of Sensation ? what's the difference between them ? how do i know which one I have ?
Q2: The screen is not sensitive enough for me: I have to press too hard on confirmation buttons, I would like the Sensation to be very much more sensitive. Is it possible to tweak ? => one of com.android.development-1.apk or com.android.sdksetup-1.apk provides a tool prooving that the screen is by itself sensitive enough for me, but I would like sensitiveness to be customisable for the whole phone; not just in a dev tool. I will create a feature request on http://b.android.com/ . => http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=19036 . I still hope one of you will tell me: install THIS app ...
Q3+A: I have found how to stop vibrating on keyboard (on letters), but it's still vibrating on many other buttons; how do I stop compleetely vibs ? => some where in sound params.
Q4+A: How do I know the serial number of terminal (IMEI ?) the software way ? => found: *#*#4636#*#* ... then search
Q5: With defaults, what's the use of the Recovery mode ? I could enter it, but did not understand what I could do with it.
Q6: I dislike the auto-adjust-light of screen; it's too bright inside home; can I adjust the curve ? I definitly need to keep the light auto, but I want it darker.
Q7+A: How do I compleetely disable the "PC sync" mode ? Calendar creates by default all events on this cal; and I want events to be created by default on my Gmail account. I want to compleetely remove this mode because I never will use it, and because I could not find a way to move a PC sync entry to the Gmail cal (Thunderbird can do it in the edit options, my phone can't do it). => no real solution, but after wipe, I restarted from scratch, and it now works fine.
Q8: how to keep wifi network up , without keeping screen on ?
Q9: how to put screen off without putting the touch sensitive layer off ? i want to be able to wake screen with a simple touch, without having to press power button and slide the ring. Screen is power consuming; I have a hard case to protect screen; but I need the phone to stay awake, and light screen up as soon as I touch it.
Thanks.
up ? (tell me if ups are forbiden on this forum ... 8d without any answer)
I believe if your device is stolen, the first thing the muggler will do is turn off the phone. So any remote wipe/lock app is useless, dont you think?
Is there any way/app to block the power hardware button if the screen is locked?
I understand, taking out the battery could render the same effect, but its a little bit more complicated than just pushing a button if the bastard is running and hiding.
Any ideas?
