So I still have the Quest 1 because I bought it in 2019 and now with the Quest 2 releasing, mostly all the new games are only available on the Quest 2. I was wondering if I could somehow trick the device into thinking it was a Quest 2 (most likely with root). I know you can do this on most Android devices using a magisk module, at least you used to be able to do that. One of the main problems I'm having is when I sideload games, it sometimes detects it's not a quest 2 and I can't play it.
Maybe changing the AndroidManifest.xml values in the apk you sideload could possibly help?

So I am obviously a NOOB and a bit of a dim bulb too, as you will see.
I currently have 2 Android devices. An LG Optimus LTE that I got in Dec and a Novo 7 Basic I bought in Nov. Two opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to the Google Play market compatibly.
I support devs by purchasing my apps/donating from the play market, when I can. The problem with my Novo 7 Basic is that (in Canada at least) it only has the free version of Google Play installed and therefore not many compatible apps show up in the market for it, even though it clearly has the guts to run many powerful HD apps, especially since, thanks to infamouskid, I have Magic Code installed. If I could buy apps from Amazon market, then many of these apps would be available to me (when I have looked they are compatible). My Novo is upgraded to ICS. Fortunately MyBackup Pro is avail to my tablet in the market and it is also on my phone. So I use the PIN for the phone on my tablet in order to "restore" the apps to the tablet.
Now that Play is allowing one purchase to be used on all of the devices you own, I was really ticked off that many of the basic apps couldn't be loaded on my tablet without trying to find a link somewhere and take the chance it was ok...hence the lack of brain power part... obviously if I understood how to root ect I would get that you can use Titanium backup or in my case, mybackup pro to move the apps.
Using MyBackup Pro: I liked not having to unmount sd cards (and it really is a bugger to get the card out of my tablet). It takes longer, of course, to do it by WIFI (real long). I didn't like that it seems to be an all or nothing. If I download a new game on my phone, I would like to be able to transfer just it and not have the backup scoop up everything...this is probably just a new user lack of knowledge.
Anyways - many apps are now confirmed installed and working on my tablet. There were a few that wouldn't install (ie: Brisksaber, lol) and fewer still that installed but won't run (evil Gameloft).
I just wanted to point out this idea to those of us Noobs with Chinese Tablets, lol, as a great alternative to finding recompiled apps, or app links if you happen to have another Android device. I will include my apps now; you'll notice a bunch of "junk" since I've got little kids, lol. I first checked if they worked and then I moved many of the apps after the "Backup" to the SD card.

Bricksaber - wouldn't install
Tintin HD - no - when it opens it tells me that the game is not compatible with my device. It is, but the licence won't let it work..I have nothing but problems with Gameloft games.....my phone came pre-loaded with some demo games (my carrier is bell), so when those game titles go on sale, I can't buy them at the sale price, only for $5 each....not likely! According to Gameloft, it isn't their Fault, its' Bells..according to Bell it itsn't their fault, its LG's...and according to LG...its Google Plays fault... I'll eventually get down to the business of root ect so I can blast those bloat games off my phone, lol.
If there are better ways of doing this transfer thing, please let me know!
BACKGROUND:
I have purchased 5 Nextbook Premium 7 tablets, model NX007HD, for my children to use.
The table is google certified and comes with Google Play pre-installed, but many apps report that they are not compatible with the device (for examples: Angry Birds, Temple Run, Fruit Ninja Free, the list just goes on and on). Sideloading the same apps or installing via an alternate marketplace such as Amazon proves that these apps are totally compatible with the device and run just fine.
I could not understand why it should be such a problem when a much less expensive ($39) 4" tablet installs and plays these games fine directly from Google Play.
Using the "Android System Info" app and after some analysis it appears that the device is reporting its OpenGL capabilities incorrectly as Version 0.0 - I believe the tablet actually supports 2.0 as demonstrated by the fact that these applications run just fine if they are side-loaded.
I believe I can gain root access to these tablets very easily, but they are rather generic and as a newb I don't really want to build a custom ROM or flash the entire nand if i can help it.
I have searched on these forums and haven't seen anything that comes close to this issue.
QUESTION:
Is there an "easy" way to alter the OpenGL capabilities reported by the device without completely replacing the ROM?
Am I missing details?
If there are any other details I can provide please let me know. I'm working with the distributor and they are submitting a bug report to the manufacturer but it seems like it will take a long time to get it fixed through these channels.
I'm also open to suggestions on other forums or sites where it might be more appropriate to ask this question.
Let me start by saying that I do not have a Google + account and I don't want one.
I have been holding off on signing up for Google Play Games until they updated to remove this restriction.
With the 3.7.20 update this finally happened !
The main reason I wanted Google Play Games was to be able to have game saves synced to all my devices via the cloud.
So I went ahead and installed 3.7.20 on all my devices and signed up.
Then I went into my favorite game : Toy Blast
Observations made :
1.) I was on level 693 on my Nexus 9 when I 1st started the game with my new Google Play Games profile.
2.) I loaded up the achievements and it didn't recognize any of my progress in the game so I didn't have ANY achievements (IE: Completed Level x)
3.) I went back and replayed certain levels on my Nexus 9 (Android N Preview 2) to attain 13 achievements. I also advanced to Level 695.
4.) The next morning I installed Toy Blast on my Nexus 5 (Marshmallow - March Security update) looking forward to being able to continue my progress. I installed and loaded up the game and it didn't recognize ANY IN GAME PROGRESS so it would only let me start at Level 1 !!! But it showed my 13 achievements @#$%#[email protected]%
I couldn't find any options to force the game save to sync and am not sure how to proceed.
Anyone else familiar with this issue and can offer some advice ?
Im having a issue myself, its asking me when i want sync my account in some games i click that , then i get a window asking me to create a user id ? like its not recognizing my old lvl 28 play games account and asking me to create one? i did that and now my name random changed and avatar.. my google+ picture is gone but the lvl is same if i go to play games app.. so i guess somethings up now...
Hi, I want to play war robots game in more than 3 device. But the problem is when i open game in second device. I got error message in my first device that "sorry, Your account is currently used on another device" and game stop in first device. But there is something weird. I have created multiple instance in memu emulator and sometime i am able to play game simulation in 3 window without getting any error message.
I want to know what make app know that i am playing game in more than 1 device at the same time? Why its work sometime and sometime don't?
How i can play war robots game at same time on 3 device without error message (sorry, Your account is currently used on another device.)
I have tried changing imei, model number of all 3 memu window to the same but its not useful.
I have tried clear cache and data and its sometime work but not always have to try many time. My game progress is connected with google play games.
Thank You, Hope someone will answer
Hi, I'm new to XDA but I'm here because I'm pretty much a noob with android and technology. I'm trying to spoof with pokemon go with an android since it seems the safest method. I've looked up methods to root my device and it's been a bit challenging to say the least.
1. I found 1 option of pokemon go spoofing which is using FGL Pro with the official unmodded pokemon go app. If anyone is a pokemon go spoofer, if this still a viable method in 2022?
2. I was wondering what does downgrading google play services achieve exactly? I read it was something about masking your location without rooting, but doesnt FGL Pro already hide and change your location, so why would you need to do that?

1. that apps seems abandoned since 2019. so unless you would like a ban, i would not use it.
2. so, it seems that a google play services update, sometime between 2015 and 2017, went live and removed those spoofing methods. this can only be attempted if your smartphone runs android 6, 7 or 8. from android 8.1 forwards, it will not work.
Conclusion : so, i skimmed through those reddit posts about this type of practice. if you want to spoof pokemon go, best way would be to get a second device running android 6 and play the game on that. those methods are being patched out on newer devices and new versions of android.
