For no apparent reason, phone now stays dark with an incoming call and obviously without a caller ID showing as well.
I've tried following tutorials, that don't have all the prompts that it says it does, so it might be helpful if I could find a tutorial that is exactly like my phone which is a model SM-A125U.

Since updating to Lollipop, whenever I have a phone call I hear the ring tone (even if custom for the person), but when I open my LG cover I get a lock screen instead of the usual incoming call screen I used to get pre-update.
I have to unlock my phone, go to Phone App and choose "return to incoming call" to get the screen so I can answer it.
Has anyone else noticed this issue? Have I inadvertently set something to cause this?

Hi, I am also facing similar issue after updating my Nexus 5 to Lollipop.
While the screen is locked, incoming call is shown as notification on the locked screen. It needs to be tapped twice to open and then swipe to respond to the call.
I have the same issue. No solutions yet
This is just really dumb made from Google..
I just started using Motorola Assist in Home mode. Various pages on the internet say that the phone should "read out who's calling" when in this mode. I can confirm that the phone is in fact in home mode, but it just doesn't read out the name of the caller while the phone is ringing. The ring tone is silenced but nothing else happens. When the caller hangs up, the phone says "-------- tried to call you. Do you want to send a text"... it does not announce the caller or give me a chance to answer via voice.
What's wrong?
ok this is a weird problem
my own fault
phone is the OnePlus one obviously.
have been having ongoing small problem with the dialer, as i use DW dialer.
sometimes when i went to make an outgoing call the stock dialer would also load and i would have to push the call button twice.
small problem but annoying.
so i went into the settings>apps>phone
and cleared the phone setting >launch by default.
this has fixed the outgoing calls problem
however now when i have incoming calls it doesnt bring up the window to let me answer them. the phone kind of hangs while the incoming call is ringing.
i can get back to the home screen. but there is no way to answer the call.
so i need a way to reassign the incoming calls to the phone.
i dont get any notification on the phone itself. just the ringing phone.
there is no way at all to answer the call - cant swipe down.
the only thing i can do is wait for the call to end. then see who is in my missed calls and ring them back.
please help
cheers

I've been having this problem for a few days now. Phone rings but no UI for me to answer the phone call. Any solution to this yet? Thanks.
U have to tell which ROM u r using. There should be some option in settings for accidental phone wake up (Something like that), you have to disable that. Search in the settings.
I have updated to 5.1.1 but problem is its not showing the name when incoming call....only showing first letter of the name how can we find who is calling
I've just solved this problem on my phone - I'd blocked notifications from Dialler:
Settings --> App Notifications --> Dialler --> Deselect Block
Man!! This is a lifesaver. How come this solution is not available elsewhere. Thanks a lot!!!!
Hi all,
since yesterday my S7 does something very annoying: even when sound is set to vibrate or silent, it will speak the incoming caller id (name or number) for calls I receive. This can be very annoying when in a meeting
The weird thing is that I haven't changed anything. My last action was to install a camera mode from the Galaxy store, which was the first time I ever started the store since I use the phone. Maybe it updated something? I also don't get notifications for missed calls anymore since then.
Any ideas where I could turn that caller id text-2-speech feature off?
solved: it was the DW Contacts & Phone App that I had updated.
This is a new phone, and the problem is that during an incoming call:
Phone does not wake up, and has to be tapped to wake, or power.
Then, the Incoming call is shown in the notification area and the phone still needs to be unlocked.
I've searched for the resolution to this without success.
Anyone know what I can try?
I sometimes have the same issue. I don't know why. It's difficult to answer when they call
