i was trying to install the vanilla google play store, because i was trying to do modded play store stuff but decided to revert back, but after i installed vanilla play store i tried opening it, the phone panicked and rebooted, and now the boot animation is either taking FOREVER to load, or its frozen. either way, id really like some way to fix this without factory resetting, because ill lose my discord account AGAIN, plus like 60gbs of my personal data (was using lucky patcher.)

I was trying to get Google Earth on my vegan 5.1 Gtab and accidentally flashed a google apps file instead.
Now my maps and market don't work.
I click on them and it tries to open, but instantly goes back to the home screen.
No force close error message, just an instant closing.
How can I undo my mistake and get the Google apps working.
The file I flashed was
"gaps-gb-20110115-signed.zip" I think I got this from CM7 mod before I switched to Vegan7
Hopefully this is an easy fix so I don't have to wipe it and start from scratch.
I think I killed my phone hahaha! Right when I need it for job interviews :silly:
So I rooted my phone, installed Titanium backup to uninstall useless applications on my LG optimus one (LGP500H). Started backing up everything and removing one application at a time, being careful. When I got to "Nuance", I thought it was a useless program for voice control, so I backed it up then uninstalled. Then before it finished (Or after, I don't know), "force close" messages kept looping and I couldn't get out. So I restarted my phone (managed to do this between two "force close" messages).
Surprise, my phone reboots, but to a black screen with only the notification area up top. When I lock then unlock the screen, I see my background, then I swipe to unlock the screen and it goes back to that black screen. Even the "Search" hard button does not show up anything. So all I can do is check my notifications, turn on/off the wireless, gps, data, sound. Nothing else.
So I decided it was time to install CyanogenMod, but found out you absolutely need to install ClockworkMod to reboot in recovery mode. So I'm stuck. Can't do anything, can't find on google how to flash CM without ClockworkMod, no idea what is the problem.
I even tried to reset to factory default, I get past the configuration screens to choose the language and the time, then it goes back to the black screen. So I need to completely wipe my phone and replace it with cyanogen mod, I think it's past trying to recover anything.
I saw one other guy with that problem on google and nobody really answered.
EDIT:
I think maybe I just found out that I might have deleted the home screen somehow? although I didn't delete anything that I wasn't sure of.
If anybody else has this problem and can't get an answer like me, I figured out the solution.
Send a message text to your phone from a friend's phone with a link to the market for any application. Then find Titanium backup and install it. you will be able to run it from the notification area, then find your backups, and reinstall them. Boo-yah!
The day I got my new phone I rooted it, got titanium backup and got rid of all the garbage unfortunately I went a little overboard getting rid of google play services in the process effectively killing my phone by not allowing it to go to the play store.
I want to start over from scratch, just get the default rom and reload it and make it new so I can go back in time. How do I do it?
I'd also appreciate if there was a list of what was safe to get rid of and what will kill functionality.

You should look into getting a custom rom like cyanogen mod. It gets rid off all the bloatware and google apps. That way you won't have to uninstall everything yourself. Either way for stock rom to get you stock rom, turn off the device, then hold the power, home button, and volume up until the little blue letters pop up on the top left then let go. Then your going to do a factory reset(use volume up and down to navigate and power button to select) and once that's done select reboot now. Then your phone should reboot on a fresh stock rom.
Can I suggest you to install Omega Rom? It is based on the stock rom and with the aroma installer you can choose what samsung-app install before installing the rom itself.
To start off, recently out of the blue, whenever I would open any app and had other apps already open, the current app I would be on would close. For example, after trying to open the Google Play Music app and having it close seven times after opening it, it'll finally let me open the app and then listen to music. I click the change song button and then the app crashes with a notification saying this or just crashes without one. I read also this had to do with the Google Play Services app. I disabled it and enabled it twice. No difference at all.
This is for all applications and drove me insane. I eventually decided to research it and came up with the answer of resetting the cache partition. I did so but then was stuck in boot loop. I wasn't really sure what to do at this point. Perhaps this was a mistake but, I decided to factory reset my phone. Now, the boot loop only vibrates and goes to the light-green Motorola symbol. Nothing else for hours.
The previous times I've had to reset this phone (about four now) the device would show the commands it's doing and then you would see it finish. It didn't do it this time, simply saying resetting cache and reformatting.
I'm lost at this point.
Perhaps someone will have knowledge about this?
Try to reinstall rom from fastboot.
hi all,
i stupidly decided to root my moto g - i say 'stupidly' bc i clearly didn't have the knowledge to have that much power... it was working fine for several weeks & then it started having issues booting & charging if i accidentally let the battery get too low. that happened a couple times & i was able to get it working again by charging it in different ways (wall, computer) & letting it alone for a day or so. but then the other day i turned it on & i got the 'Unfortunately System UI has stopped working' & gave me the option to click 'I'm feeling lucky.' once pressed the phone would boot up (though it took much longer than usual) & when it finally did, i'd get various messages such as 'exchange services has stopped,' motorola notifications has stopped,' 'System UI has stopped' - basically everything has stopped & they just kept popping up & then the phone would freeze. before the phone would freeze, in between messages, i could still get into my apps & other parts of my phone, but it would always eventually freeze after a few minutes (or less). i tried various troubleshooting techniques (reboot in recovery, factory reset, etc) which eventually led to doing a hard factory reset. unfortunately, i believe at some point before all the problems started i must have deleted some system things i shouldn't have, including the stock launcher (i was using Buzz Launcher) so now it's returned to factory but missing some vital components.
here's the current state of my phone: it will boot up (though it takes much longer than usual) but as soon as it does i get the message 'unfortunately, system UI has stopped,' 'exchange services has stopped,' 'motorola notification has stopped,' & 'System UI has stopped' again. when i click on 'ok' for that last message, i get the flash of a weird red window & then just a black screen that shows the (correct) time, battery level & phone signal in the upper right corner but it's frozen. before it freezes completely, the only thing i can get into/click anyway is the status bar at the top but the window doesn't even drop down. so the phone is basically booted up but useless.
i've done tons of research & looked into using a toolkit or flashing android/moto stock but i'm using a Chromebook & nothing is compatible with it that i've found so far. & i'm not even sure how to get into the phone via a Chromebook, if it's possible.
PLEASE HELP!! i'm getting desperate. can't afford to buy a new phone right now & i really need this thing to work again.
SHORT STORY: Moto G, System UI has stopped, missing some vital stock stuff, phone boots up, no launcher, Chromebook, last system i was using was Lollipop
does anyone have any idea...? also, keep in mind i'm clearly not as knowledgeable about this stuff as most of you or i never would've gotten myself into this situation. so keep your responses as if responding to Android/Moto G for Dummies. ;-P Thanks!!
Flash a custom ROM via custom recovery
Check out CM11/12. I have the boost 3g version with Blisspop (CM12) and it works great.
Also, if you created a backup before you went root you might try restoring it instead of factory reset.
Make a wipe, or reflash the rom
Chromebook
thanks for the replies guys but my issue is trying to do any of the above from a CHROMEBOOK. in order to flash a ROM though, I need to install the Motorola android device driver & I've yet to find one that's compatible with Chromebook - I'm not sure there is one... anyone have any experience in flashing ROM or any other Moto G fixes from a CHROMEBOOK? thanks.
Can u still access your recovery?
