You have to wait 168 hours to finalize the procedure.

Oh so this screenshot is actually normal? I expected a second green checkmark and a 3rd one after the 168 hours.
Sorry, my first time with a xiaomi phone and doing such things

Yeap, it's normal but by insisting you may have increased the delay.

Thanks for the reassurance. I think Xiaomi could be more clear on this part (use green checkmark on 'Unlocking' instead). Was afraid i could brick my phone

Normally you have to use the phone, don't be surprised if the unlocking doesn't work after 168 hours, especially since you insisted.

Why is that? I thought turning it off is fine. Since the phone will factory reset after unlock/flashing, might as well wait until everything is settled. Dont wanna waste time reinstalling everything.

For security reasons, use Mi Cloud for backup (will work with Xiaomi Eu roms if that's what you want to do after).

[Q] Media sound is getting muted automatically

i bought a new atrix 2 MB865,not rooted.I am facing a problem like after some hours sounds of media(games,videos,youtube,...)are getting muted but in the settings it shows that sounds are full, then i need to change all the sounds in the setings and then media sound setting..then they will be audible but this is a cyclic process...can any one please help me out why this is happening
Here goes similar thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2048647 (yeah that's in a wrong section). I have the issue too. Reboot when it happens. Works for me!
is there any other solution except rebooting???
it happens nearly 3-4 times a day and it is irritating to reboot always...

Hate to suggest this, but you might try a full FDR on the device. Either that, or you could try and clear the data of the settings/apps that are facing the issues/or anything else that could be calling for the media volume settings. Either way, you shouldn't be having this issue with a stock A2. I'd try to reset as a last option, but try to clear the data of those above mentioned in settings > manage applications > find those I listed and clear the data > reboot. If that doesn't solve it, try a full factory reset...
bro all the apps,games,videos,songs,....are facing this issue,,,,so i think its not possible to clear each data.....will a factory reset fix this problem??
if yes, then there is no problem for me to do a factory reset
It happened with me on CM10 today, had to switch out of app and go back, the sound returned.

It's pretty easy, you don't need to unloack booloader for custom roms(same kernel is used)
Root your phone first.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1742879
Install Bootstrap recovery.
Backup your STOCK rom if ytou want.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1346977
Install the rom of your choice from here. (Using Paranoid Android now, pretty slick.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1376
That's it!
(Do read the instructions in the particular threads)

There's a risk in everything you do, from playing around with mobile devices to just simply walking outside your home each day. Flash the wrong FXZ/SBF to your device, you could brick. There's many ways to "brick" any device, and there are different levels of being "bricked". My suggestion: read, re-read, and read again before you do anything to any of your devices. Understand what you are doing before you do anything. You'd be surprised how many people fail to follow that simple step, and end up posting on here that they have borked their phone all up. Rooting is the least likely to brick your device. And of course it's "safe" to install (flash) custom ROMs, so long as you follow the installation instructions for each, and understand what you are doing before you do anything (sound familiar?) -- why do you think we are all on this site, for the lulz? The bootloader is locked, and will continue to be until the great devs here are able to crack the security certs, etc. The "unlocked" text you saw was likely from your carrier. I have a One S that gave a similar indication when I got it, because it was 'globally unlocked' to be used on any carrier. Hope that clears things up.

Unlocked probably means 'Carrier unlocked' and not 'Bootloader unlocked' Is this the Indian Version or Imported AT&T Version?

Bypass Lockscreen

My friend uses Honor 6X. He is on stock Nougat ROM. He is no more now. Is there a way to bypass his phone's Lockscreen without losing data so we could get to know some details we need?
*And his phone's bootloader is Locked.
*No way to enable developer options.
*Can i boot into fastboot mode and using adb commands can i boot via TWRP temporarily?
Since the bootloader is locked, the only thing he can do is factory reset.
Don't forget to remember which Google account he used, as it will be required after the factory reset

OnePlus 7 stuck in "Your device is corrupt it can't be trusted" after locking the boo
Help. I've made a big mistake. I can only access the Bootloader. Recovery mode is not accessible.
As with the 7 Pro, I didn't like the standard 7 and decided to return it. Thought it would be a good idea to lock the bootloader before doing so.
OnePlus support won't help me and they are telling me that I can't return the device anymore. "Repair is the only option now" even though I'm in the 30 days return window.

I've looked through it but couldn't find anything. Sorry, I am extremely stressed out as tomorrow I am supposed to return this phone and I want to make sure that it passes inspection.
So, I did the following:
- Used the unbrick tool which lead me to HydrogenOS
- Installed the latest OxygenOS version on top of it
- Did a factory reset, and so far everything looks to be in working order.
Am I missing anything here? Are there any possible changes done to the device so that it won't pass inspection?
Sorry again for being so annoying...

So if OxygenOS works and you also did a factory reset, your device should be fine. Check bootloader status. But it should be locked.

Otherwise you can flash it directly with miflash but you have to unlock the bootloadeer.
the problem is that I can not install it, both because manually from the phone it says that it cannot verify the rom I downloaded via zip, and through my flash, because to unlock it the bootload requires 160 hours. Now I have another 6 days before I can return, so I don't know what to do

In this case, either wait the time to unlock or return the phone to the seller.
you can try:create a folder at the root, rename it to "downloaded_rom" and put the zip inside. try update.

Question Hard brick

Hello good to all,
It turns out that I have the device with a hard brick and I can't find a solution to repair it, I've been looking for a similar thread, but nothing. It won't let me in, it's not fastboot, not in recovery or anything, and if I turn it on normally I get: The current image have been destroyed...
How I got to this situation, was after rooting the device with a tutorial here, which worked perfectly for me. It was later when I had the great idea of closing the bootloader with the rooted device, and since then it gives me this error.

1)Just go to service center , if phone is in warranty , they will just flash the device with STOCK ROM using msm tool (best )
2)however they might even replace motherboard for no reason but that will also fix the device (time taking)
3) last option is to use paid msm flashing services costs from 5to 10$ USD , you can find them by Google search (risky)
I had about the same problems, my GT Neo 2 does not load fastboot further. The cyclical startup process is repeated.
Stupidly, I understand now, I decided to wipe data in TWRP recovery
This is what it looks like - youtube
I tried to install custom recovery from this topic, all stages passed without problems, but at the end after rebooting fastboot loops
Have you solved this problem, if so, in what way?
udp

but root I couldn't get here
I tried to unlock twrp using the magic installation, but the problem described above appeared
