As glhturbo had pointed out in another thread, cellunlock.net does it for $20/phone but with this code crackb50 you get 50% off. Worked great for my T-Mobile Sensation. Enjoy! =)
Get a friend who is a customer of the sensations native carrier to make a sim unlock request.
Sent from my HTC Sexiness.

bootloader unlocked?

hi, thinking of buying this phone on verizon, wanted to know if it is shipped bootloader unlocked so i can load custom roms on it and get the hotspot working.
thanks
Its not shipped unlocked but it can be via exploits, allowing to flash to your heart's content
Sunshine is the only Garanteed method at this point to unlock boot loader and acheive s-off. Firewater method may or may not work depending on hardware configuration.
The only way to get a phone with an unlocked bootloader usually, is to buy the "Developer Edition" if it's offered. Most don't even know but the Samsung Galaxy S3, and S4 both have Dev Editions, so if you really wanted an s4 that's unlocked, it's possible.
there first firsmtware of the S4 if you are lucky enough to not take an OTA and not need a refurb you have the Loki exploit which is as good as a bootloader unlock which is very rare to find in good condition, and the ones out there are way expensive.
sorry for off topic.
Basically HTC also offers, HTCDev.com to unlock bootloader within minutes of getting home with your new device, but Verizon make HTC block their phones unfortunately. But thanks to amazing developers like Beaups and Jcase you can get S-OFF. It will cost $25, but a very small price to pay for the amount of time they put into giving us this wonderful option.
without root, Id be on an iphone....

US Celluars Contracts With Locked Phones, Bad or Good?

Hello, so i need to see some answers, and also know what is the best for any consumer who will be buying a phone anytime soon
So, i am not living in the states, but i will soon and i will upgrade my phone as well...
And some of my friends mentioned me having a contract.. and i am wondering whether it is a good idea or not.. and there are many ways to see it and i even have some concerns about some stuff that i am not sure of, and it will be discussed in these parts:
1-How much do we have to pay extra in a month if we ever got a locked phone? is it much more than an unlocked contract?
2-If so, which do you think is the best for a contract?
3-If you are going to have a contract, would you have it for one year or two years? why?
4-Are there any pros of having a locked phone? do you have a guarantee for it or a warranty? would you be able to give them back your locked phone and get a discount for your upgrade or anything closer in that matter?
5-Does having a locked phone means that it is somehow different than the unlocked one? example: would i be able to install the same rom on both of them or i need to have a specific rom for the locked phone?
6-is there anyway that you can buy a phone unlocked, but you would have to pay for it in months?
7-Would rooting a locked device voids warranty, or somehow is breaking a rule in the contract?
8-Do i need to wait for the carrier update for the locked phone? or would i be able to install an international update and get it stock? if i could, would that ever damage the contract?
and anymore information would be really helpful.. would really love to see what the community here are interested in and what they usually avoid doing..
an off-topic question: Do you think i should wait for the new phones to come? i am really interested on having a HTC M8 right now, but seems like the new "hima" is going to be released soon, any thoughts of what i should do? Thank you
(as a non-american)
I thought a locked phone simply ment that your mobile subscription was locked to your carrier for a given amount of time. And you can do whatever you want with your phone except changing carrier for the specified time. (?)
I don't think that is how it works, especially with the warranty..
as well as i have seen that there are different roms of the phone that are specific for let's say T-Mobile, i really don't know the nature of this contract..

Should I buy this carrier locked Pixel 3?

Hello everyone,
This is me posting for the first time here.
I've found a really cheap Pixel 3, but it is carrier locked to a Japanese carrier called Softbank. Is it possible to remove the carrier lock by rooting the phone? If not, what are the other options should I pursue to buy it?
With many regards,
Emir.

If it's carrier locked it's more than likely bootloader locked. If so, you can't root the phone and most likely can't do anything about the carrier lock. You could call the carrier and ask them if they'd unlock it or, That's about your only option I'd guess. Unless you can get in touch with the carrier and get them to unlock it, I'd stay away. Cheap or not, it's not worth a dime if you can't use it after you get it. Just my 2 cents worth.

How do I make sure I get an unlockable one?

I'm interested in getting a 2113 to unlock (bootloader) and root. But frankly, I've had so many traumatic experiences with other models where I buy a phone and then I can't unlock it. I'm kind of afraid to try again.
So before I buy another phone, I want to make absolutely *** **** ****** ******* **** ****** certain that I can unlock it.
I'm planning to buy off eBay. What do I look for to guarantee with complete certainty that I get a phone I can unlock? I really don't want to buy another $100 paperweight.
Thank you. I'm counting on all of you.
I think XT2113-2 is unlockable, but I can't say definitively. Moto gives ATT and VZW different variants from what I've seen. Always best to contact the seller to be sure.
AT&T and Verizon phones are not unlockable. Any phone that has been previously unlocked and relocked is probably a brick, but is certainly not unlockable.
I bought a T-Mobile model. Got one that was carrier unlocked, just in case that would get in the way.
I turned on OEM unlocking.
I rebooted into the bootloader.
I ran the appropriate fastboot command.
I gave the code to Motorola, and got the unlock code from them.
I unlocked the bootloader.
I booted back up.
Oh my god, you don't know how good it feels! After all the phones that were just money down the drain, finally I get a good one that unlocks with no trouble at all! I kissed the phone, I was so happy!
