Systemized apps keeps crashing. GPS Joystick - Google Pixel 4a Questions & Answers

Hi Guys,
I rooter the phone and everything works well. I used systemize/Magisk to install GPS Joystick as system app but The enable system mode is greyed out no matter what. I installed the app to system/app. when i do install it to system/priv-app the app crashes all the time when launching.
Any idea what could be the problem?
Keeping in mind that the app is systemized correctly 100%. and root is 100% good.
I need it in system mode to disable mock location settings for My games that require specific location.
i am on Android 13 right now.

[Q] Why do some root apps still work after update?

I'm guessing that certain root apps rewrite some of the system files on their initial run so that they don't have to ask for root permissions constantly but I'd like a developer to confirm this.
For instance I have Keyboard Manager which is a root app that changes the keyboard you're using based on orientation. This allows me to have a Japanese keyboard (Simeji) while in portrait mode, the stock Motorola keyboard when using the physical keyboard, and Swype when in landscape mode. I assumed originally that this needed root permission whenever the system booted or I restarted the app but after updating and losing root the app still works as it always had without any issues whatsoever.
Another app would be Nova Launcher, which only requires root to allow viewing of widgets in a similar way to the stock launcher. This functionality stayed over after the update. After thinking about it, unless the stock launcher updated this would definitely stay the same without requiring permissions every time. Otherwise the stock launcher would have to have root permission at start-up as well.
In contrast Titanium Backup doesn't work whatsoever. This was completely expected as it reads and writes system data all the time.

Problem with Auto Start of apps - Nexus 5 Root

I have a rooted Nexus 5 with image downloaded as "bigxie_hammerhead_KOT49H_odexed-signed"
All things are working fine except auto-start of applications. Not even tasker is auto restarting when I reboot my phone.
Is there any service or anything else I need to check for this custom rom I am using? This is very annoying as I want 3-4 services to do an auto start. I am using Greenify but I have cross checked it and it is not doing anything to kill these services. They are not starting at all after a reboot.

App killed although whitelisted in Android Nougat

Dear,
I recently upgraded to Android Nougat on my Mate 8 (AL10C00B575) with EMUI 5.0.
i'm using multiple app that need to stay active and cannot be killed:
Currently I whitelisted those app in "Phone Manager - cleanup - settings - Memory whitelist", but they keep getting killed.
Still when i open up the list of running apps (square icon in navigation bar) and click on the recycle bin, those apps are still killed.
a few examples of the effect after I clicked the recycle bin to clean all apps although the below are whitelisted:
Facebook Messenger: not receiving any notification anymore of incoming chats. The messenger bubble on the homescreen doesn't even appear.
Screen filter: when screen is dimmed using this application, cleaning the apps restores the normal brightness of the screen which indicates that app was killed
Twilight light: similar to Screen filter
Automate: running fibers are all killed and a reboot doesn't restart them as I would expect
Alarm Clock Xtreme free: when the apps are cleaned, the alarms are not taken into account by the OS anymore and hence don't go off...We can clearly see the app kill as the alarm icon disappear from the status bar when cleaning apps
many many more
I've also attemted to add all those apps as "allowed apps" in the Battery Optimizations (Settings - Apps - Settings - Special Access - Ignore optimisations), but this didn't make any difference.
Please help as this is very annoying... I never had this behaviour with Android 6.0 (EMUI 4.1).
Regards,
Thib
I'm getting same problem, and i did all those above stuff?
my apps getting crash after screen off,
I had this problem on l29c432b560 and still have this on my current firmware (l29c185b560)
I did factory reset to make sure there's nothing wrong with my ROM but no luck
Sent from my HUAWEI NXT-L29 using Tapatalk
This is a software problem....I Tried many solutions but in vain....Recently I bricked my phone then I left it away in the closet and took my daughter's Lenovo a7000 then I discovered this bad software of Huawei....With Lenovo a7000 I faces no issue at all ...all working...GMD gesture control....whatsapp...etc....I will never be back to Huawei after a year of suffering .....Samsung S8 will be my next phone....and now I feel good I bricked my mate 8...
The only was work,i put all Apps Whatsapp Facebook...
in System/App Folder and give right Permissions.
I have no Problems with Notifications.
I am on C432B560.
Permissions:
Apk and odex files rw-r--r--
Folders rwxr-xr-x
.so files (Whatsapp) rwxrwxrwx
This works for me.
Your Phone must be rooted.
Did anyone find a solution? I find this highly annoying. When you listen to files with a player and the screen goes off, the playback stops as the damn app is killed. I am thinking to go back to Android 6..

My Device: Mate8 L29C432B560 rooted.
I already installed Strava y Whatsap cutting from Data/app and pasting on System/app, and changing permission according to the instructions. However, now, Strava isn't listed in "Battery>Close App when screen is blocked" , however Whatsapp is listed.
Has anyone any explanation to that?
Something else I don't understand, the apps listed in "Battery>Close App when screen is blocked" which are selected to close. These apps really don't close when screen in blocked. Why?
Thanks in advance.
I'm also facing the same problem in Huawei P9 with EMUI 5.0.1. I have tried every ways in the forums.
Fix
I was able to fix this by going to Settings < Battery < Close Apps after screen Lock <
And then make sure you turn all apps to "Don't close".
Hope this helps
Same problem with Honor 9 & Android 7 (EMUI 5.0)
Tryed everything explained, but some aplications get killed after a while...

I managed to find the same fix as well but stumbled upon another issue. I have a P10+.
If you would go to phone manager and do an optimization scan, all the apps that are unchecked to be closed when you lock the screen now show up as to be skipped when doing a memory clean so I say, ok, fine, let's get them off the whitelist, but that makes them checked back up to be closed during screen lock.
Does anyone know if these two lists are interlinked?

Nougat GPS Problems with certain apps (Pokemon Go, Weather apps)

I'm wondering if anybody else is having similar problems.
Upgraded to the T-Mobile Nougat 7.0 OTA update. After that, I'm having constant "GPS signal not found" errors in Pokemon Go and my weather widget (1Weather) is having problems finding my location to update. Restarts don't do anything and this problem only happens periodically. Sometimes the apps work! They worked perfectly fine in Marshmallow.
Other GPS apps like Google Maps and GPS Status are working fine; pinpoints my location to within 20 feet. I've tried clearing and re-downloading AGPS data, un/re-installing the malfunctioning apps, clearing cache, data, revoking all permissions to re-enable them. None of that works.
go to Setting > Apps > select app you want > Permissions > disable GPS Permission
and reopen the app and check if it crashes or asking for permission again.
try this solution with restart and let me know if problem remains
Good Luck

this is not answer to my question.

:good:
It asks for permission. I grant it. I get, "GPS signal not found".
Update: Sometimes a toast popup comes up that says Google Play Services has stopped responding (crashed). When this crashes, it seems to fix the GPS issues. So I guess now I just have to wait for a proper update for Nougat and the S7...
I have this same issue (same setup as well). I haven't opened my weather app yet (rather just look at the sky ), but I do have constant issues with Pokemon GO. It will just sit there endlessly trying to get the GPS signal, but it doesn't have issues if I am moving.
I have found multiple reddit threads and Samsung support threads on the GPS issue with no luck.

I have been reading up on all of them today, as I normally have zero issues while sitting at my desk. I have toggled many options including optimize battery usage, location itself, clear cache, downloading GPS status and toolbox, and rebooting.
Right now the changes I have made from default are turn off the new app power saving monitoring (settings>battery>3 dots>advanced settings>disable app power monitor), turned of wifi scanning and bluetooth scanning.
The root of my problem was attempting to use the pokemon go plus. It allows the app to use the location of the device in the background while the screen is off and the app is not in the foreground. It was not lighting up every 5 minutes for the pokestop like it normally does. Going to maps, I discovered my location was way off. After opening the app, it would correct itself after a few seconds, but other times it would not.
This is also affecting smart lock (unlock) which allows you to choose locations where your phone does not require a password or fingerprint to unlock. It had always been flaky, but lately actually worked fairly well.
GPS issues is far from the only issue. I see monthly updates coming to us for a while (hopefully carriers will be right behind)
turning off battery optimization for locationservices seems to have made a difference. Smart lock is now working consistently and I am no longer drifting in my app. I also rebooted right before making this change, so that could have an effect too. I am going to leave it like this for a couple days to see if it helps. This makes sense, as the doze feature in nougat got reworked.
If you go to the Location settings, you'll notice that the "Locating Method" will randomly change between High Performance, Battery Saving, and Device Only. Pokemon Go is not compatible with Battery Saving, so if you get that error message when you know your GPS is enabled, go to Location settings and switch the Locating Method to either High Performance or Device Only. (Quickest way to do that is to press & hold on the GPS icon in the notification shade, which'll take you directly to the setting you need to toggle.)
The problem I'm having is getting that setting to stick. It seems to randomly change its Locating Method throughout the day, and I can't figure out how to force a static setting.
Here's what I've figured out, works 100% of the time:
1. Go to your device administrators and disable Android Device Manager (ADM).
2. Force Close Google Play Services.
3. Re-enable ADM.
4. GPS works now.
This thread is old, but the annoying problem persists.
I have this damn "GPS Signal not found" in Pokemon Go, too since i updated to Android 7.0.
Outside the GPS works fine and a have no problems. Inside buildings i have trouble with this damn bug since Android 7.0.
Sometimes it workes, sometimes not. If the phone is laying flat on the desk, the error comes up. Then i take the phone up and shake it a little bit, then the error goes away. After laying the phone back, the error comes up again.
Stopping google play services, clearing and updating the AGPS data and reassigning the permissions to the app didnt work.
Is there possibly a new useless battery saving feature in Android 7.0 thats checks for the accelometer and stops the gps service if there is no motion ?
I disabled the battery saving feature completly in the settings.
Has someone got successful rid of this damn error ? Or do i need to flash Android 6.0.1 for better gameplay ?
Any updates on this issue?
There seems to be lots of problems with GPS on these devices, and also on devices with similar chipsets (looking at you, MSM8996) all over the Internet.
Zero solutions so far :-/
I am suffering something similar.
I have tried Sygic, Here maps, Google maps and Waze.
Basically GPS location is turning on-off every few seconds (not check mark, But signal is turning on off)
For a while GPS finds location, guides me, Then arrow just stops. After few seconds It finds location again (I will have moved few 100 meters further by then, So display suddenly jerks to new location).
Very annoying.
I am running lineage OS 14.1 (Android 7.1) on Zenfone selfie ZD551KL.
Have already tried various builds of Lineage along with full format.
