This phone has no roms available, I would appreciate if someone could port lineage os to it.
I think it's because most people have a carrier subsidized A53 with a locked bootloader. It's got a nice screen and the speakers sound good, but it's laggy & personally I don't think it's worth $450 for an unlocked retail version. Especially when they won't fix it if something fails within the warranty period.
Biggest issue would be the lack of volte on lineage roms. Pricing doesnt help either, something like a xiaomi 12x is a way better deal and its a lot smoother.

I'm working on a device tree, which will then allow for lineage & other roms to be made
LineageOS has GSI so you could install GSI but personally wouldn't recommend it since its mainly for testing and has tons of bugs

That means 2 Major upgrades (7.0) and (8.0) with minor fixes and improvements but not 7.1 or 8.1 if it's released.
If this device will not get any other updates like 7.1.x or 8.x i swear i will never get another Huawei device...

If they don't stick to thier promiced updates and code for these phones i will 1: never buy another Honor phone
2: drive them mad with emails
3: let everybody know not to buy thier phones via Google+ and FB pages.
Let's hope it don't come to this.

Honor 9 has almost similar specs as 8. Go with 8 pro. Every thing is as big as op5 (no dirty minds)

We might get treble support, tbh we might not. Alot of phones that have been updated to Oreo haven't came with support for it. Just phones that have came out with Oreo as there first OS. That's what I have been seeing anyways :/

Don't worry, since every Honor phone has a separate Vendor partition, all devices getting Oreo automatically will have Treble support

As Always Hexed never seems ceases to amaze me 1 bit. Works just as good on the Z4 as any other Samsung I've used it on. To date I own about 35 plugins and seems like all of them work just fine.

No you don't need root. Just adb. Hexed is a paid app I believe. I bought it back on s8 days. So I can't remember if there was a free version
This is also for one ui. Don't work on non stock setups

Yea 5.1 update broke it. I should've checked github and the groups lol. I'll wait a few weeks to see if a fix comes out if not down grade

Hello Everybody, after some testing I was finally able to make this work. Always on display for our beloved Xiaomi Redmi 10.
I ported this from an already available magisk module for the Poco X3 Pro, Created by Azukabieks.
Works really well and the notification light-up thing also works, but with a catch.
Unfortunatly It remains on all the time. The 10 second option is missing. And Due to the fact that this phone has an IPS Display it consumes a lot of battery. This is more a proof-of-concept than anything else. Feel free to try it out and tell me your thoughts!

Unlock your device, throw MIUI 13 and turn it off again, it will not be out of warranty.
