Does anybody know if Honor 8 will get android 7.1 or 7.0 was the last major update for this device?
Could not find an answer myself, sorry if it was already answered.
7.0 is almost done. However, we won't be getting 7.1.

It's probably unlikely that custom ROM's will ever get camera and other hardware to work as good as on original firmware...

That means 2 Major upgrades (7.0) and (8.0) with minor fixes and improvements but not 7.1 or 8.1 if it's released.
If this device will not get any other updates like 7.1.x or 8.x i swear i will never get another Huawei device...

If they don't stick to thier promiced updates and code for these phones i will 1: never buy another Honor phone
2: drive them mad with emails
3: let everybody know not to buy thier phones via Google+ and FB pages.
Let's hope it don't come to this.

I don'o Think so, anyway i don't cara too much about Oreo anymore, it would just be a New interface with some minor stuff perfectly integrable with minor updates.

Yah bro here is the changelog. Sadly nothing special.
We might get treble support, tbh we might not. Alot of phones that have been updated to Oreo haven't came with support for it. Just phones that have came out with Oreo as there first OS. That's what I have been seeing anyways :/

Don't worry, since every Honor phone has a separate Vendor partition, all devices getting Oreo automatically will have Treble support

It's too early and too much to ask for Android P. Devs have already rolled out Oreo roms and like previous times, camera bug is the major one taking longer time to fix. So, sit back and enjoy Nougat for now.

I was currently in the process of installing the Nameless AOSP rom on my OP9, but i saw that the Lemonade folder was missing on the Sourceforge download page, and only the Lemonadep was here?

I wanted to but just gave up, I installed LineageOS but figured out only afterwards that it didn't have the OOS Cam so i reverted back to original firmware

See, here's the thing, he didnt give instruction at all. So people being dumb is kinda on him. He just repasted guides from lineage, that didn't even mention proper recoveries (u had to use a specific dated one or the process would fail)
I'm not saying people who gave him **** were justified nor was he wrong to stop. The maintainer can choose to do whatever they want and anyone thinking otherwise is being selfish, but let's not pretend he offered any instructions, he admitted to blind blinding OP9 the whole time off OP9 Pro.
And that is, by definition, giving up. Its also 100% ok and his call to make. It's perfectly ok for people to stop doing what they dont want to continue.
I hope hes still supporting OP9 Pro because his builds were great and wish him nothing but the best. Its just a ROM scene.
This phone has no roms available, I would appreciate if someone could port lineage os to it.
I think it's because most people have a carrier subsidized A53 with a locked bootloader. It's got a nice screen and the speakers sound good, but it's laggy & personally I don't think it's worth $450 for an unlocked retail version. Especially when they won't fix it if something fails within the warranty period.
Biggest issue would be the lack of volte on lineage roms. Pricing doesnt help either, something like a xiaomi 12x is a way better deal and its a lot smoother.

I'm working on a device tree, which will then allow for lineage & other roms to be made
LineageOS has GSI so you could install GSI but personally wouldn't recommend it since its mainly for testing and has tons of bugs
