Hallo, 3 different transormer tried and all have screen under the screen and shining 7/8 white pixels on black background, with a kind of scratches on the lcd panel emitting white light on the black, and the black is not solid like other colours but it has vertical stripes on the screen with different graduation of black. Obviously in all 3 pieces was present a strong light bleeding. The best way to check it is with a free program from the market called lcd test or maybe pixel test, put black screen on it in a dark room. Dust is well visible also with screen off, they are small withe pieces.
Any similar experiences?
I returned my first Transformer for a dust particle under the glass but in front of the screen - bang in the middle on the display so very distracting. I initially thought it was dead pixels but at an angle you could see the reality quite easily.
Luckily was able to exchange it the next day (gogo Mikro Anvika customer service) as they'd just got another batch come in the door - second one is flawless. Not other display problems other than the slight light bleed at a couple of points on screen edges on a black backgrounds - no big deal.
I dind't find this on a quick search. It could belong in accessories, but it impacts performance, and could be not very obvious so I'd rather put it here.
Basically my case messes up flash exposure in ways you might not guess. If your flash pictures are dim.. keep reading.
I got a thin ringke case. Really precision molded, looks very nice. It has to camera holes, one for lense, one for flash and a thin bit of rubber in between. The case is slightly translucent.
The flash is clearly exposed, but pictures come out much dimmer with the case on. head scratch...
Holding the phone in portrait orientation, looking at the back, there is a tiny light sensor under the lower left of the lense (above the focus beam).. If you tape over it, the flash goes to full brightness.
The little strip of rubber between the two holes goes between the sensor and the focus beam. It even seems to slightly obscure the light sensor.. so one might think it would increase flash brightness.
What seems to be happening is that very bright light is striking the translucent rubber and lighting it up directly next to, practically over, the sensor. The sensor sees enough light and shuts off the flash early.
I would think any rubber in view of the sensor on a mono-hole case could reflect some light back into the sensor, but probably this arrangement is ideally bad.
Returning this case.
Does anybody else have a rather noticable grainy screen? It looks like a layer between the diodes and the front glass. Its as if I was looking on the screen with some photoshop grainy effect. Or better, if you put a very thin paper in between the diodes and the front glass. It gets significanty better with brightness turned up to max. But it doesnt go away completely. Its most pronounced with darker colours. Black is fine though, no mura effect there.
Its really annoying to look at. Is it normal? I thought LG supposedly fixed this issue which was very common on the original Flex.
I only saw a grainy screen when I turned the brightness way way down below the normal with Lux brightness control.
Any recommendations for Huawei mate 9 Pro cases?
Just got the uag ice case definitely worth the money low profile yet protective, works good with film screen protector not tempered.

I got a leather case for my google pixel from stilgut, it claims its genuine leather, texture is real good, you can find it on amazon
I picked up a this case.
It's very good quality and feels very nice however, the "always on" screen is no longer "always on". The case and it's smaller window is detected and when the phone first turns off the smaller clock appears on the right side of the screen however, after the timeout the clock turns off leaving me a blank screen.
If I remove the case, the normal "always on" screen function works perfectly.

I have similar to this, but I got the official "Smart View" case, which is basically identical to this one, but not leather... Always On acts same way as you explained, however if i just open the front flap and turn the screen off, Always On displays... this is per design - the smartview case is not meant to have an AlwaysOn display in that little window, just when someone calls or you get a message, or alarm goes off does it turn on etc. It would have been great tho, if they did make it show the smaller Clock AOD type display in this window at all times (if I have AOD turned on).
Thanks.
So, it's not my case then that's at fault as you have the official case and it also has the same problem.
Oh well, hope Huawei read this and add it to the functionality for the next firmware.

Yeah it would be good, fingers crossed.. i'm not 100% on how the AOD works compared to that bar of display you can see thru the smartview window (as this is actually screen on in full but limited to that section. This feature has been available on a bunch of previous devices by Huawei, but AOD was only just introduced on this model). I guess they would have to modify the AOD to have 2 functional types, full screen AOD and then smartview window sized AOD...

The PRO has an AMOLED screen which allows this without destroying the battery performance. AMOLED only uses power for anything OTHER than black so, the small AOD clock with it's minimal pixels in use drains a tiny amount of battery as the vast majority of the screen isn't powered and left black. LCD (as used on the normal Mate 9) on the other hand actually uses a backlight (AMOLED doesn't) and that's why it's an "all or nothing" screen which also means it drains more power. My wifes S7 and my Note 7, both with AMOLED screens, did the "always on" thing. In particular, the Note 7 was excellent as it also showed next appointment and notifications.
The LG(?) has a separate LCD screen at the top of it that is tiny. As it's separate it's only a small amount of power used to light that screen and not the main screen.

Yeah ok, they would just need to adjust the AOD to display only thru the thin part of the Smartview window area, right now AOD displays smack bang centered in the AMOLED display (and too large for the area of this smartview window)... so as I suggested, they just need to modify the AOD service to detect that a SmartView Windowed case is On, then define the area of AMOLED screen to be used and make it slightly smaller for the AOD clock etc, instead of the putting it in full size in centre of the screen.

Yup, exactly. Just a minor (Probably) software change.
Ringke is best and fits perfectly on the Huawei Mate 9 Pro. It is available in multiple color. It is crystal clear protection with advanced 2X tough coating enhances the Huawei Mate 9 Pro original look with minimal bulk. It is also soft flexible premium edges cover all four corners with guards and tapered lips to offer vital lift design for daily usage scratches.
I noticed a defect while out in the sun today. In the sunlight I can see a crease/distortion effect in or under the glass in the bottom half of my screen. Maybe a third of an inch long. It's only visible to me in the sunlight or bright light. It's not on the outside of the glass though because I can't see it or feel it. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed it on their phone.
