Is anyone else using this on Cricket or ATT? I can't get a 5g signal at all, only 4g LTE.
AT&T blocks 5g service on phones with unlocked bootloaders. I have the same problem and have tried every fix offered.
I'm using a moto 5G ace on cricket. There was just one update where I had 5G access and that was RZKS31.Q3-45-16-8-5. The next update after that 45-16-8-7 nixed it. No root or unlocks here but maybe that's enough info for someone who is to downgrade and diff what they did wrong to let us on.

Same here. I'm in central California and all of our 5G data speed was garbage, even slower than 4G LTE. I'm assuming the update was to rework our signal to the network. I really like my phone but Cricket seems to have it out for our mid-priced, top grade phone lol

I've unlocked my SK4G but when I use AT&T using hex editor whiched worked I'm glad to say but I'm getting Minimun data out of it. Are there any kernels that fixes that or can it be done?
TMobile and att use different bands for 3g and 4g. Just like an att iPhone only gets edge on TMobile, a TMobile phone only gets edge on att.

Sad to say this, but he's definitely right about it. You could try to flash the Blaze4G Modem, but I'm doubtful it will work.
i appreciate it fellas and yeah that is sad but ill live lol. oh yea that modem boost didnt work, didnt expect it to though
The new Nexus phones say they are compatible with 4G on both TMO and ATT. Does it have a special dual-band modem that other phones lack?
I installed that 4g modem and the reception was better but the internet is still sucks

If you're using AT&T, it was just said you can't get 4G bands. EDGE is slow.

Tmobile uses 3g\4g bands specific to the USA if im not mistaken, it only shares edge bands with the rest of the world. so edge or 2g is all youll get which is about dial up speed.

Hello,
I have a Verizon M8 that i'm using with AT&T. Is there a way to convert my Verizon M8 to AT&T so that I can get LTE? Or can I at least flash the AT&T radio? I noticed this video shows a method for converting Verizon M8 to Tmobile https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6GhybCyd4Pg He is getting Tmobile LTE with Verizon M8 no problem.
If someone can point me in the right direction that would be great!
This phone doesn't have the bands for At&t LTE. Best you would get is HSPA+.

Yes I know it doesn't have compatible bands for AT&T LTE. It doesn't have compatible bands for Tmobile LTE either, but someone demonstrated how to convert it so now he's using the Verizon M8 and is able to get Tmobile LTE without a problem. So there seems to be a way.
I figured it out. For anyone else out there that has a Verizon M8 and are using it on AT&T, you can convert your phone to the AT&T variant. I'm getting LTE but not constantly, it switches between LTE and HSDPA but it's staying mostly on LTE. Yay!

Hey there. I posted how I did it somewhere in the AT&T forum. I'm not sure where the post is though as it's been a few months and I don't have the M8 anymore. I sold it and bought a One Plus One, then sold that and bought a Note 4, so that was a couple of phones ago.
So does anyone know the difference between these two models? I live in the US using straight talk on AT&T's network. From what I can tell, they both should work, but I am not sure if there is any difference I should be aware of before buying the phone.

I have the G920i that I'm using on cricket (cricket uses att bands) and it works perfectly with LTE. I'm not sure about the 920F but I know that the f is the global unlocked version whereas the I is also unlocked but for selected regions.

How does it work in areas where LTE is not available, i.e. on 3G and HSPA networks? I live in an area where half my day is spent on the fringe of LTE service and the other half in.

Well just like US carrier phones, you'll get LTE signal when you get LTE signal and you'll fall to HSPA+ or 3g when that is the signal you get.

I'm asking more along the lines of can the phone receive the 3G bands in the area? I was wondering if the phone actually could receive what was being broadcast.

That I don't know. You gotta check the bands with your phone and carrier.

My G920I does on AT&T. I've seen it go all the way down to EDGE because I have really bad signal at my house.
I can also confirm that the 920i works fine on AT&T. I have seen it go from Edge to LTE and everything in between.
I love the phone and the size but only getting H+ sucks. Has anyone tried to unlock the 4g bands?

I tried. Not possible. I got all the way to putting in the new values in the phone, but when you reboot it they go back to default. There is a fail safe in the kernel preventing it. need a custom kernel to do it successfully. Here is the thread that I was discussing back and forth with another member:

It all depends on the band the carrier is using. The phone doesn't have all LTE/4G bands unlocked. So if your carrier is using a band that is available on the phone then you are golden. For me the only band the phone has unlocked that AT&T uses for LTE is band 5. Half my city is band 5, and the other half is 2 and 17. So in the band 5 areas I have 4G, and in the 2 and 17 areas I have HSPA+

The LTE bands in the U.S. are blocked. Back in the day we had same issue with the original Samsung Note 1 - in was only built originally for ATT. Eventually folks built roms/kernels that did the trick on T-MO.
So here's to hoping the same thing happens w/ our ZF3ultra
.

Hi,
Could anyone provide "rfnv" files of Asus ZenFone 3 Ultra?
I trying unlock bands for Leeco Le 2 X520 so "rfnv" files of Asus ZenFone 3 Ultra will help me a lot.
Thank you for your attention.
Anyone getting a 5G signal on ATT. My ATT sim gets 5G on a Pixel 5 while my 8T gets 5G with a GoogleFi sim. But theres no 5G when I put on the 8T with ATT sim card for some reason.

What does that mean? Are you using an unlocked 8T on AT&T in the US, and you are positive you have 5G access? How do you know this? Do you have a setting that nobody else has to be able to select 5G as a default? Your statement is lacking at best.

BOZO!
In case any of you are unaware, all unlocked phones will be useless after 02/02/2022 on AT&T with the 3G shutdown.
I'm actually waiting to see the lawsuits happen...haha
Much of att "5g" is actually LTE-A (4g). They branded it "5Ge" the same way they branded their 3.5G (hsdpa+) network as "4g" when everyone else started rolling out LTE. since the 8T is not updated by att the icons won't be changed like they did with older phones that got "upgraded" to "5g" by changing icons in a software update. (I have a friend that is certain his galaxy s9 is 5g after att pushed an update)
How do I test it? Do I need a full signal to do so. Speedtest.net? What speed am I looking for.
I have a Google fi in the other sim slot and it reads 5G and would like to compare if I can get a little guidance.
Thanks
