Hello my new pixel 7 pro has terrible video quality. If I turn on hdr it's terrible and very sharp, if I turn it off it's a little better. Can you help me with this? Thank you
I doubt if there's anything anyone but Google can do to help with this. You should reach out to Google's support, and/or hope that one of the monthly firmware updates makes it better for you.

I just wrote to google support so we will see. I tried the OpenCamera and it looks like it is working fine. I was just trying to see if anyone had the same issue.

Hows it going everyone? Im in need of a new phone. Im using a Galaxy S5 right after I accidentally destroyed my S7 Edge. Im thinking about getting a Pixel, but have also started to consider the OnePlus 3, or 3T. I wanted to know if there is anyone who has experience with both the Pixel and the OnePlus 3 and to know if you would recommend one over the other. I think its going to come down to the software. Is the stock nougat software improved enough to justify the extra cost of the Pixel? Ive watched plenty of speed comparisons and read enough about features, but I really want to hear from some actual users about their experience with both devices if possible.
Any information would be so greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Personally speaking I would not but the OP3 as they are only producing the OP3T however having owned a OP3 until very recently here are the pro's and con's of each so far.
OP3 Pro's
Way better design imho
Dash charge is awesome
Pretty much stock OS (will come back to this)
OP3 Con's
They are merging in OOS and H20S and this means a LOT more bloatware designed for the asian market
After sales support very much hit and miss
Pixel Pro's
Stock Android with way faster updates
OK Google always on
Camera is way better
Pixel Con's
That design ughh
Bezels
Chins
Software and developer Support will likely be much better on Pixel, which means it's life will probably be extended much after the 2 years. I'm not even sure OP supporting their OP2 from last year.
If you want an awesome camera, pixel. If you don't mind a sub par camera, go OnePlus.

I've had the onelus3 for a while before getting the pixel.
@daleski75 is correct, before the OOS and HOS merge I would have recommended the OnePlus. The dev scene is OK, but majority of the Roms are cyanogen based or stock based. Anything that's not based on stock HOS will suffer in the camera department. I know there are options but afaik, nothing matches stock OOS/HOS for camera capabilities.
Now, I would recommend the pixel purely for the dev support. The camera is amazing and will continue to be after a custom ROM. Plus if you get bored in a year the resale will still be good and oneplus3 will be dirt cheap.

The camera in the OP3 is actually pretty good overall.

Yup now that they are merging both os the biggest draw for me to the OP range has now gone.
And to add to this in my opinion CM is on the whole a giant hack for the OP and although stability overall is good it's buggy as hell.
So to the original poster if you want a phone which is guaranteed to get good support, fast updates and a awesome dev scene stick to the pixel range.
If price is a deciding factor then the 3T is a very good phone.
This phone has been out for quite some time now and the lack of developer support is pretty shocking.
Are any developers working on builds of ROMs for Polaris? Outside if Mokee, I haven't seen anything, and I still haven't seen a single AOSP build.
Better get used to MIUI...
Wouldn't have bought it if I knew the situation would end up being that desolate.

Same here - I may end up selling at some point. I'm very disappointed in the level of support, which is likely a result of people not buying the phone.
I bought this phone because of its great hardware and a reasonable price.
I disliked miui from the beginning so I installed pixel experience and I am happy with it for now. I don't rely on manufacturers anymore to update devices rather I come back here and get what I need.
Would be nice if this device would get more love from the devs but I hope that, with the number of sd845 devices surfacing and being popular in bigger markets like India or China, some devs will port the pixel experience pie ROM to our device.

My main issue is the Camera. Pixel Experience, and Benzo GSI work very well on my device, however the picture quality of the camera is pretty bad comparatively.
Images look very grainy when zoomed, and overall the MIUI camera does a much better job.
I'm hoping at some point that a dev is able to port the camera app over. They did it for the RN5.

I use the BSG Mod camera MGC_5.1.018_MI8_V1b which works really well. Portrait mode is good, low light pictures are good too. I'm not into 4k slowmo Videos so that's not the deal breaker for me.
My biggest concern is that this device is not as popular as many other lower priced devices by Xiaomi and therefore no dev will appear and make some good roms. And if someone builds them I hope they will be maintained.
One inmate here made a pixel experience for our device and I was really excited. But he or she disappeared and was never seen again. No sign of life since months and no feedback to PM's or in his/her own thread.
Maybe the pocophone with the same soc will push development further. Maybe someone can port a pixel experience rom for our device.
I'd even be happy to donate money and I'm not talking about 10€ but far more to anyone who builds an almost bug free rom with all the hardware support the device needs with all functions working as they should.
I hope there will be some developments soon, or at least a dev that can kill the bugs in the GSI roms. Most of the things are working perfectly fine with GSI's, there's only some annoying bugs that have to be eliminated.
We have a well known dev who makes Los for our device, if you join our telegram group you can test his releases, however he lost some time because he accidently damaged his phone so it will still take some time until he publishes on xda

I don't think that's the new Nokia Camera as the one which is torn down on NPU.

Is it possible Nokia developing on Gcam port? Who knows...
i dont think Google is going to give its precious algorithm to other manufacturers. It would be a disaster for sales on new Pixel 3a/XL.
But HDR+ is mentioned on this article HERE so its pretty much going that way. How good it will be, we wait and see.
You can read why the APK crashed on N7+ in the article, libs are missing.

I'm sure Google won't just give algorithms because that's what makes Pixel a "Pixel". Same with Google Camera, it's their own branding so technically Nokia can't just modify a port and sell phones with it. Sure it's open source that's why devs can modify them, but there's just a lot of tech going on there. HDR+ though has been used in other phones already (Zenfone 6, I think?), so let's see where Nokia is going with this.
My highest hopes, though, are on camera quality fixes especially with the current awful white balance. P3 AWB mod of GCam is the closest workaround, but it'll be nice if the device camera module or driver (or whatever) itself gets corrected.
Hi, recently I got my new op9 and it's awesome about fast and fluidity, but I can't say the same about pics taken Id like to ask the community of any gcam or any similar cam app which improves oscam for more detailed or processing sw photos.
Thanks!
You must have the TMobile version. I've read many complaints with this version. I have a global unlocked op9 and adore the camera without Ois even. G-cam for our devices is awful. This is the reason I've stayed on stock. Oos cam hasnt been ported yet to aosp. It's still a wip. My opinion though.
I have chinese version LE2110. I have read many times that gcam is awful for our op9, but instead for me I prefer it.
Started with t-Mo 2117, but wiped and installed LineageOS. Sad about losing the OP9 camera. Gonna start trying all the free ones in the Store, then...
Hi guys, this might be a dumb or odd question, but now that the support for OP6 has officially stopped, I thought it would be time to take a look around for a new device. I could get an OP 9 or 10, but I must say that the new FairPhone 4 seems, fresh and inviting with the repairability and easy battery swap. But so far it seems like a small upgrade when I compare the phones on GSMArena, but I have no idea on the CPU side of these phones, so the question is, it the FairPhone better than the OP6 CP wise?
Best regards
Dennis
Looks like a downgrade or side grade at best to me, I don't remember the last time I had to change a battery in a phone. I was going to upgrade mine during the holiday season, but didn't see anything that's worth upgrading to, maybe next year.

Although support has stopped officially. Community support continues to exists.. Android 12 on OP6 works great.. I'm using it as a daily driver (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-12-oneplus6-official-syberia-project.4354729/).
As far as Fairphone, I'd say its more of sidegrade/downgrade as mentioned on the post above.
If I do decide to upgrade, i'd probably look at a pixel 6 or heck even a Samsung for that matter
