Has anyone tried the below charger with the Mate 9? I thought it should fast charge since it's 5V 3A, but I'm only getting around 2A according to ampere. Trying to figure out if it just doesn't work or if I got a fake one.

It's not going to fast change since it's 5v and not 9v like the OEM charging block.
Thanks. I mistakenly thought if it could fast charge a Pixel or 6p, it would fast charge the Mate 9. It does seem to be charging faster than a standard charger so that's good at least.
No, the Mate 9 uses Huawei proprietary super charging technology and he accessories today don't have it. We have to wait for more devices from Huawei to come out or companies are given the ability to use their tech.
Yeah, I knew it wouldn't be able to get super charging speed, but I thought it would be able to reach fast charging or whatever the middle speed is called.

The OEM Supercharge charger is also only 5v. It runs at a higher amperage, not a higher voltage.
Basically, when the charger is unplugged, the adapter runs in 5V mode, which is safe and good. But when the tablet is connected, then it is upgraded to 9V mode. any USB devices connected with a splitter on the charger wire will receive 9V also! This near doubling of voltage could cause devices to be fried, so make sure your Huawei power adapter isn't powering any hubs!!

Most electronics with a USB port will only be rated for say 5v, or maybe 6v to allow for naughty USB power supplies. 9v is nearly double 5v, and on sensitive low-tech chargers, like resistive ones that charge 18650 or whatever, you could expose the battery to a much higher voltage than what it should have, which could cause an explosion or whatever. I used a fan since it should be able to handle the extra voltage quite happily.

There is not problem at all. Qualcomm charge technology and USB 3.1 do the same. The charger and the device negotiate what voltage they want to send the same power but less current (more efficient). You are not supposed to o what you did, it your fault and not from Huawei.

what I was getting at is that if you were to use a splitter, like I did, then be careful, as the voltage might raise. This is not a concern most of the time, but it's good to just be careful.
My OnePlus 5T and it's dash charging only works when these 3 conditions are satisfied:
Dash charger
Stock OnePlus lead
Nothing else plugged in
otherwise it will default down to normal. It's a shame that this didn't happen on the Huawei charger, but hopefully this means that it will be easier for implementation for powerbanks, I can't find any dash charge power banks. And also apparently Huawei phones usually play nice with other chargers. (USB-C power delivery I'm not sure on this device).

I am just annoyed that Huawei do not use QC or USB-PD standards and I must use their charge to charge fast. I do not mind the 9v as my QC devices charges fast on the Huawei charger but not the other way round, forcing me to either change all my chargers or carry an extra charger.
Not sure if you are talking about FCP for in or out of powerbank, I have a Tronsmart powerbank that supports both QC3 and FCP out. It also supports QC in, which means it MAY charge faster with the Huawei's stock charger. I had not tested it that way yet but I think it should as the Huawei charger charges my other QC devices at QC speed.

I know your trouble, I have a OP5t, and that charges at 7.5W from my Huawei charger, when it can charge at 20W using dash charger, my mediapad charges at 10W from the dash charger, out of 18w capability. I do look silly carrying round two chargers with the same plug on them!!
Yeah no dash charger power bank, at least there is a Huawei FCP one like you said, I might get that as my next one, but I've got a lovely EC technologies powerbank, and that only does 10W no matter what, shame really as it is 82whr (massive!).

Luckily (for me at least!), I do not normally carry my M5 around and therefore do not need quick charge on it. Even if taken on holiday, it can charge overnight in the hotel. However this put me off Huawei (and OnePlue, Oppo and any other brands that do not use QC standards) for my future purchase.
Wow, I didn't realize how bad this bites. MediaPad was my first QC3 device. Used it's charger in my bedroom. Then got a LG v35 QC3 phone last week to replace old Nexus 6P (USB C-PD). So excited to see the Huawei charger fast-charging both devices. So irritating to now realize that the LG QC3 charger won't fast charge the M5!
And Huawei is using a proprietary QC3 charging mechanism? ie. are there any compatible chargers on Amazon or only the charger from Huawei will fast charge the M5?

Sorry, Huawei does not use QC standards but their own FCP/SCP instead. QC chargers will not fast charge Huawei gear but Huawei charger MAY charge QC gear fast.
So if I plug my M5 into a standard QC3.0 charger (9v I think), does it at least charge somewhat faster than a standard, non-QC charger? I would assume so. And are they're any 3rd party fasxt chargers compatible w/Huawei's dumbarse proprietary QC3 charging?

No it doesn't, as confirmed by a V/A USB meter. It will only top out at 5V/2A.
I repeat again, Huawei does NOT use QC3 technology, but FCP/SCP technology. If you are looking for a charger that can do both QC and FCP from the same socket, read through the tread again as I had already posted a brand and model that had been tested and confirmed to do both.
Ah, sorry, me dumb and had in my head that M5 was QC3. Now I get it -- FCP, not same as QC3. OK, I see your link and several other chargers compatible w/QC3 and FCP. Thanks!

I had used USB PD adaptors on the M5 before and it charges fine, but not quickly.
My Pad (M5 10.8 WiFi) charges via USB PD with 18 Watts using the 9 Volt Profile. What doesn't work is Quick Charge. Power delivery works fine
Is there anything special about the actual Huawei furnished cable? I need a longer one than what was furnished.

Alright so I've got my S22U in, and it appears that the charging requirements for 45W Fast charging have changed relative to the Note 10+ I did have. Neither of my two chargers that previously charged the Note 10 at full speed charge my S22U at full speed. There is no "Super Fast Charging 2.0" indication on my display when I connect the chargers. So something has changed. Kind of a disappointment on my end, since there was no good reason to change standards/requirements. Does anyone have a new 45W adapter, yet?
I have the Spigen ARC 45w charger and even though it doesn't say "Super Fast Charging 2.0" (only without the 2.0) it charges at exactly the same speed as the original new samsung 45w charger (where it says 2.0) used in this test:
Alright I found someone on Verizon's website saying that the output voltage on the EP-T4510 charger goes up to 20V whereas my chargers only hit about 11V, even under PPS. So the Ultra requires a higher 20V voltage to get up to 45W, where my Note 10+ only required 11V to hit 45W. Makes sense now.

Yeah with the old charger I was using a Thunderbolt 3 cable rated for the full 100W charge spec (20V/5A) so the cable itself is def good.
EDIT - I just tried another USB-C cable, and got the 2.0 notification. So check the cables for sure. THanks for the hint.

I'm using Samsung 45W charger; EP-TA845XBEGWW. It delivers 21VDC at 2.1A, this gives 21x2.1= 44.1W and It's works perfectly for changing my S22 Ultra. It also got a lot of other charging modes, it runs PDO or PPS. USB type C in both ends. Hope this helps.

Yeah in my case it was a cable issue. The same cable that worked perfectly on the N10+ no longer supports 45W speeds on the S22U. So I am going to seek out new cables I guess. Thanks.
I bought this charger from Amazon.ca and according to the specs it outputs 21 volts @ 2.25 amps so should be able meet the 45 watt max charging capability of the phone. It's very compact. I'll verify when I receive the phone.

If it doesn't check your cables.
Use this 100w/5a usb-c cable (https://amzn.to/351pBUQ) with the Samsung 45w charger (EP-TA845XWEGUS) and it shows "Super fast charging 2.0". If you don't use the write cable you won't get the "2.0" type of charging.
I also got this charger hub from Amazon (https://amzn.to/3hcjnnu) using the same 100w/5a cables and it shows "Super fast charging 2.0". Nearly the same prices as the Samsung charger, but can do more. Works perfect for families as a charging hub. This was verified on both a new Samsung S22 Ultra and my old Samsung S20 Ultra.

Any charger that supports PPS will do fine. The USB cable should have an emarker circuit (the boxed cable does).

I suppose you could look for reviews or discussions on those particular adapters or search for detailed specifications. Or search Amazon or generally for adapters with keywords PD 3.0 and PPS. Most modern power adapters usually specifically point out PPS support in their specs.

The links above do not include any information whether these chargers support pps, although they are good gadgets.
I have had issues with trying to find a 45watt charger which will charge the S22u at the Super Fast Charge 2.0 rate. I probably ordered 5 different chargers and none of them would work @45 watts even though they supported the PD 3.0 PPS standard. When I contacted one company support team they said Samsung tweaked the PPS standard for the S22u.
As it turned out, I had an Elecjet 65w charger that charges my S22u at the 45w Super Fast Charge 2.0 rate. While they no longer sell that charger, they have a newer 45w version that does support the S22u (several Amazon reviews confirmed this).

The cable should be fine. The cables I'm still using that was included with my s21 and LG V60 both provide Super Fast Charging when paired with a capable charging block. Anything from aukey, ugreen, ravpower rated for PD 3.0 and Super Fast should be fine. Samsung has a conservative charging system compared to the Chinese brand phones from Hauwei, Xiaomi, and Realme.
I have a BASEUS 100W GAN charger that works with the Samsung S22U. It's standard PPS. Also some noname 120W GAN charging hub I bought from AliExpress. Both indicate Superfast Charging 2.0 on the S22U when I plug them in.

That seems to be a good charger, but I cannot find one in my country, Iran. There are some good adaptors including Anker, Baseus, Aukey, Ravpower, Mcdodo, and so on but I could not find whether they do support PPS.

The reality is a 100% fully supported charging brick and cable will only get you a < 10 min decrease in charging from 0 - 100%. With most of the speed gains in the 0 - 50% time being reduce by like 6 minutes and then being pretty much negligible after, as the phone throttles to protect the battery from overheating.
To get everything you probably would need to go with the Baseus.

Hi,
Does anyone know if such a thing exists ? It seems that the only magnetic wireless desktop chargers are for iphones and hence seem to top out at 7.5w. I have bought: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08S6XQFDM Which allows you to sue magnetic wireless chargers, but I'd like to get one that can utilise the 25w charging capability of my new Z Flip 4.
Any help or advice would be very much appreciated !

Just to clarify, 25w is only wired charging. For wireless, max is 10w only so look for qi magnetic chargers for that speed. This one says it can do max 15w wireless https://www.amazon.com/Universal-Positioning-Placement-Operation-Compatible/dp/B096W24V1H

As far as I can see in the available specs, the wireless is up to 15W and this is something that I'm actually seeing (without the actual current measurements, just perceptibly) - the phone seems to charge quicker on my Samsung 15W QI charger than the Flip 3, which supposedly had 10W wireless charging. The brick for that charger is also 15W, so it seems legit.
I'm using a generic 15 Qi watt wireless charger from Amazon. Was dirt cheap, Did not come with wall plug. Using a generic 25 watt charger (same specs as Samsungs wired charger) my phone reports charging from about 12 -14watts. Charges up quick. Why the 25 watt? The old wall plug I was using was 10 or less and would take all night to charge if 35% or less left on battery. So if you use Qi 15 watt wireless, just make sure your wall plug is up to speed.
PS that free flip case they gave out with the strap and metal lug will not allow wireless through it. Case and strap too thick. Probably why they are dumping them for free.
Yeah, the rapid wireless charging is the thing I will miss most about the Pixel 6 Pro.
