Softbrick? Problems after flashing custom firmware - OnePlus 7 Pro Questions & Answers

So I got a Problem. I just unlocked my bootloader, flashed the latest twrp and rooted my phone with the latest magisk Version. Everything worked perfect with the now rooted original OS.
Afterwards I downloaden lineage OS, booted back to twrp and selected lineage OS to be installed, it was stored in the download path. It seemed the Installation finished successfully, but after rebooting it keeps booting in twrp and it looks like the partitions are broken? I cant see the normal folder structure anymore. It just Shows folder I cannot access, neither from twrp twrp, nor from my PC. That has happened to two sperate Devices. What am I doing wrong? Is it fixable?
The pictures Show the current structure in twrp, all of the folders are empty and I cant put any data onto the phone since the folders are not accessible

[R7SF] Stuck in TWRP Recovery mode only, flashed rom but unable to boot into it.

After flashing TWRP and being successful, i installed LineageOS 14.1 and gapps as you have guided on your posts, i saw that there were some old folders that were left over from the many apps my wife have installed previously, so i decided to do a factory reset. After pressing factory reset, the phone restarted and booted into TWRP recovery, which then i clicked on "Format Data" from the wipe tab.
Things went really south from here on, i am unable to boot into anything i have flashed (i tried flashing LineageOS 14.1 and gapps). Once the rom and gapps are installed, the phone reboots back into TWRP again. it seems like the internal storage of the phone is still empty except with the 2 zip files i've put in. I am able to access TWRP Recovery and detect it as a R7S on my computer, but i cannot boot into anything else, its been stuck like that booting ONLY into TWRP ever since i've pressed "Format Data" which in this case is my mistake and i apologize, is there any solutions to unbrick the phone? Could anyone please help me? I would be very very thankful.
Edit: I have flashed a newer TWRP via TWRP itself under Install > install image. previously running on 3.0.2-2-r7sf-final.img but i tried downloading from TWRP website twrp-3.1.0-0-r7sf.img and flashed it vi TWRP since i cannot get into fastboot. phone booted up after wards into OS and made backups and kept it somewhere safe. was reading and panicking around the web for a good 10 hours

Flashing TWRP just deletes everything on my system everytime

Hi, everytime i flash twrp i get into a bootloop in which i can access twrp. Inside all of the system seems deleted and the only option i have is to format and then flash magisk. Then and only then the phone boots up but completely empty as new. Why is this happening? I used to flash twrp on my s6 and it worked flawlessly...

Guide: update Xiaomi Mi Note 10 to latest MIUI while rooted

Couldn't find any info on this on xda or while googling.
This guide assumes you're on an official MIUI rom, with root, and twrp either installed or bootable from fastboot through computer i.e. your bootloader is already unlocked etc.
Dirty flashing new rom actually is a lot easier than on recent devices from other manufacturers (I've just leaved Motorola after running their G-series phones since 2015).
Go to https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/miui/tucana/ , download the latest ROM under type Recovery, i.e. a flashable zip. Make shure it's from the same region as you're currently running.
Backup all your apps using titanium backup. Reboot to twrp, do a twrp backup of everything. Then copy everything from your phone over android file transfer from twrp to pc while booted to twrp (all this can be skipped if you don't care of your files, apps etc if something goes wrong).
Put downloaded zip from above on phones internal storage in the same way as backup. Install as zip from twrp. Pray for working dirty flash (downloaded zip recoveries seem all to be dirty flash ones, i.e. doesn't format data and internal storage).
Before rebooting, make shure to install twrp again as it gets overwritten. Also apply your root by installing magisk zip again. Reboot and pray.
If your phone boots, everything's intact, but either root or twrp is gone, reapply the same way as before. As your bootloader is unlocked, you can flash twrp.img as recovery with fastboot from computer without your device gets formatted.
Above worked for me going from V11.0.8.0.PFDMIXM to V11.0.9.0.PFDMIXM while rooted, without looseing anything.
What partitions "NEED" to be backed up ? I'm using twrp 3.3.2b-0219 by wzsk150 and theres 31 partitions ( never seen that many ever)

Click to collapse
no partitions "need" to be backed up. for safety purposes, back up everything you can select though, that way you maximize what you can restore and go back to. you can delete the backup after a successful upgrade.
Finally got round to doing this , flashed orangefox recovery then dirty flashed Global_V12.0.1.0 over Global_V11.0.8.0,
then flashed orangefox again with magisk, everything working ok

TWRP doesnt show anything in install

hey guys im kinda new to this stuff
i think there is accidentally wiped out awaken os i installed
so here is what i did
i installed twrp
installed magisk
booted to Oxygen os and set up magisk
went back to twrp and flashed awaken os but forgot to flash finalize zip, the device restarted
now i thought it was necessary so i went back to recovery even though awaken was working fine
thats where things went downhill
the recovery was from awaken os
i used adb to boot using twrp.img from my pc
i dont remember what i did exactly after that as i was in panic mode (sorry)
somewhere in between there was the "random names in install folder" error coming up a couple of times
i tried wiping internal storage but it didnt work
basically
when i boot to system it goes back to twrp
i went to install awaken os again i cant access the internal storage through my computer
and twrp doesnt show anything in sdcard
there is also no mount storage button in mount option of twrp
have tried lots of different methods from the internet
tried wiping some things
tried pushing the file from pc as suggested by some article, cmd got stuck and didnt push it completely (or maybe i wasnt patient enough)
what do i do now
ask me for any info u want from my side

Question Stuck in BootLoop, unable to flash boot.img via TWRP or ADB

Hi, I run LineageOS 19.1 on my Vayu. It is obviously unlocked and I have Rooted it with Magisk.
I have put off updating the System but did it just now through the Updater in the Settings. From 20220916 to 20221104.
I ran into a Bootloop and went into Fastboot, installed TWRP with ADB sideload. (Had stock Recovery before)
I then tried to just revert back to 20220916 (which was not so smart). I tried to sideloaded the boot.img, but it showed "failed".
--> Still in Bootloop after Rebooting
Now I am unable to flash any boot.img or boot at all.
I tried to flash something else (Magisk.zip), which worked. I have removed all magisk modules, tried to boot with
magisk --remove-modules.
Does anyone have any Ideas? I don't really want to Reset my Phone, even though I have abundant Backups.
Thank you )
Moving back to old version almost all the times is not possible without full reset, new version contains new scripts and possibly new files, how would you explain this for system?
By flashing old version over new one, you probably messed up your system, might as well just backup your data and start from scratch.
