Question Is Temporary Root possible? And does it invalidate warranty? - Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro

Hello, is there a way to temporary root my Poco X3 Pro? I only need it because I need to recover some files that have been deleted (I used that "private file" setting on Mi File Manager but they disappeared after some days). I tried using apps that didn't require root but no results.
And if it is possible, does it invalidate warranty anyway? I would like to use root only for that purpose, but if it cause problems to the warranty it's better not to do it.
Thank you in advance for your answers.

To root, bootloader need to be unlocked. Will also loose all data like a factory reset during unlock process.
Unlock bootloader does not invalidate Xiaomi/Redmi/Poco warranty in many countries and region. Check Xiaomi/Redmi/Poco policy in your country or region where the phone is bought yourself to confirm.
Root with Magisk in most Xiaomi/Redmi/Poco phones are reversible, including Poco X3 Pro.

Thank you very much, pl1992aw.
Root for Xiaomi/Poco policy doesn't seem to be a problem here in Italy.
Very helpful, thanks again.

[GUIDE] What to do/install/add after Root to enchance P20 Experience

So, we already got TWRP & Root to work nicely on this device,
but what now ? what can we do with root to actually improve the device experience ?
Well, here's few list of my own modification, which you can apply to yours as well (Most mod using Magisk Module, so you might want to make sure Magisk Manager and Magisk were properly installed)
1. Improve performance by disabling swap memory - Using Swap Torpedo Module by @EarlyMon
Our phone has 6GB of RAM, and that's plenty by any standard. Which mean, using swap memory will only slow down the overall performance - as explained here - so let's disable it using Swap Torpedo Module.
How to install :
Open Magisk Manager
Search for "Swap Torpedo"
Install & Reboot
2. Faster & Secure Internet using WireGuard
WireGuard is an extremely simple yet fast and modern VPN that utilizes state-of-the-art cryptography. It aims to be faster, simpler, leaner, and more useful than IPSec, while avoiding the massive headache. It intends to be considerably more performant than OpenVPN. WireGuard is designed as a general purpose VPN for running on embedded interfaces and super computers alike, fit for many different circumstances. Initially released for the Linux kernel, it plans to be cross-platform and widely deployable. It is currently under heavy development, but already it might be regarded as the most secure, easiest to use, and simplest VPN solution in the industry.
Previously, WireGuard can only installed on device with supporting Kernel. But now it finally can be added to a ROM through the use of Magisk Module.
How to install :
Open Magisk Manager
Search for "Wireguard Installer"
Install & Reboot
Go to Play Store
Search for "WireGuard"
Install
Now go to www.azirevpn.com
Create new account
Go to Azire - WireGuard Config Generator
Choose your preference of Server's Country
Hit "Download"
Now open "WireGuard" app on your Android
Click the (+) icon on the bottom right
Choose "Create from File"
Pick the config file you downloaded above
Now enable it
Open browser and try to surf. You should now able to open site previously blocked, or something like that
You can also add WireGuard Button to your QS to easily turn WireGuard VPN ON and OFF
3. Ad-FREE and Backgrund Playback YouTube using - AdVanced YouTube Module by @Team Vanced
Vanced is a well known modded version of YouTube with many features such as adblocking and background playback.
How to install :
Open Magisk Manager
Search for "YouTube Vanced"
Install & Reboot
4. System Wide AdFREE - Using AdAway
How to install :
Go to https://adaway.org/
Download APK
Install & Enable
Reboot
any other good essential stuff you want to add ?
I did also install the following
Xposed

Full Package can be installed normally through recovery. You will need to re-root after that.
Protect your safetynet status with AdAway by using the Magisk, settings, Systemless hosts feature.

No, through eRecovery, by either installing the no check version, or by modifying DNS to team MT one. Read the instruction in Firmware Finder app
How I beat the OTA problem -
1. Save the OTA files by copying them before saying OK to the update. Picture attached for location, the number will be different for you.
2. On a pc, use 7zip to get the update.app out of the update.zip file - extract your RAMDISK and RECOVERY_RAMDISK (so you have a copy after TWRP for next time) - using the 995 version from -

Neither of these answers is correct. In the EU, rooting will not void your statutory warranty. I'm sure there's equivalent legislation in the US too. https://fsfe.org/freesoftware/legal/flashingdevices.en.html
Bootloader unlocking has nothing to do with rooting your phone. And even if it did, just lock it again before sending for any repair.

Yes, you can relock the bootloader. But for rooting withouth unlocking bootloader i dont know. I am aware there is backdor to do so on OnePlus phones, but Im not aware of something similar on Huawei (except maybe paid Funky Huawei service) And with unlocking bootloader you loose warranty, as it explicitly states in Huawei regulations.
Please, correct me if I am wrong. Did you find method for rooting P20 pro withouth booloader unlocking?

Doesn't matter one little bit what they state in the documentation. They cannot write anything in to the T&Cs that impacts on statutory rights. Anything beyond the statutory rights may be lost, sure, but they are required under EU legislation to ensure that the device will function as intended for at least two years. This is known as a statutory warranty. If they offer any extension to this then that's their prerogative, but to state that the warranty will be void due to rooting is wrong.
Read the link I posted.
I have no idea where the poster bought the phone, but this is correct in the EU, and there's definitely something similar in the US.

Correct. Most phones are like this. When you unlock the bootloader or root then the warranty is void. I'm sure though there will be a way to relock the bootloader soon.

In the EU you can unlock your phone without losing warranty. It's a EU rule that if the software makes it possible to unlock your phone {developer options} the warranty stays after unlocking.

Stock recovery is available, I bricked my device after playing around with project treble ROMs - and tried to use FunkyHuawei's eRecovery method but it didn't work (I suspected because it required stock recovery to install the package). I downloaded a stock firmware and opened it up with the Huawei Extractor tool, pulled out the RECOVERY_RAMDISK.img and flashed it to my device - restoring stock recovery.

Is it possible to unlock this phone without the wait (and voiding the warranty)?

Hi,
I've had a look into this and there are a few dubious looking tools out there, but it's not quite clear what is and isn't possible. Can I unlock without asking Xiaomi and voiding my warranty, or am I wasting my time looking for a way to do that?
Thanks

Short answer: maybe not
Long answer: You can try an old version of MiUnlock, but that only worked once for my old Mi 8 Lite, so i think they patched this exploit on new boards. About warranty, it will be void after unlocking it, maybe if you relock and play dumb with assistance you can get a replacement.

Unlocking of the bootloader is made available to make sure that MIUI developer ROMs can be tested by users and will be covered under warranty. Bootloader unlocking does not inherently void your hardware warranty. But a case where the unlocking results in a brick which cannot be fixed via software, the warranty will be void.
According to the statement, bootloader unlock is made available for users to try MIUI developer ROMs. And thus, it will not void the warranty of any Xiaomi or Redmi smartphone. But if the device bricks after unlocking and could not be fixed via software, then the warranty will be void

Question Poco X3 pro saftynet with eu rom

Now magisk is much complicated for me now days and I don't want to root my phone
I have indian version poco X3 pro I flashed eu rom but saftynet failed. so can I lock bootloader with eu rom and this will fix saftynet failed issue fixed .
I don't want to root my phone and magisk method is looking complicated now days so that option is not my choice so plz help me with that
Locking the bootloader means phone gets forced to boot into ROM what was pre-installed.
I think eu rom should have resolved the safetynet, you should ask in the eu rom forums.
From my limitted knowledge, if you re-lock you must only flash the same ROM that your phone was sold with, or you'll have a brick...
Unless I'm mistaken, once re-locked even EDL will not be available, so it would be hard brick.
Don't do that unless you know exactly what you're doing.
Try at your own risk though, I heard new xiaomi devices don't allow people to lock their phone, even if you want to the fastboot will simply not let you do it. On slightly older xiaomi device, it does let you lock the phone but good chance that you are stuck with that rom because you can't unlock it.

Need help with Realme GT Neo FE RMX3350, I don't think it is the stock ROM?

I asked the seller about this and they said that it has been flashed with a global ROM of x7 max 5g and it is technically the same.. I wanted to unlock the bootloader so that I can root it but I saw a warning message on the unlock bootloader that if it is not the stock rom, it will be ultra risky? please hilp I am new to all of these

Don't worry unlocking the Bootloader does not cause any damage to your phone but it may remove your warranty. So you can unlock your phone's bootloader without any problem.
Then simply root it with Magisk. It is the safest root and i'm currently using it.
but also i'm suggesting you not to root it because it is new and is in warranty (i guess). If it is not in warranty then root it with propper instructions.
Enjoy!

Question Samsung root warranty query

I currently switched from OP7P to S22 ultra. In OP7P I can unlock bootloader and then when required I can just take it back to stock without any sign if bootloader was ever unlocked. Now in Samsung I was reading it is not same, once bootloader is unlocked it is for forever!
My 2 questions :
1. There is no way to make it stock like bootloader was never unlocked?
2. Suppose I unlock bootloader and root it, later if I face any problem and would like to avail warranty service, and lock bootloader again and unroot it will Samsung not provide me warranty service? Even if it is hardware issue? Anyone had personal experience with warranty after unlocking bootloader once?
1. No
2. depends on the country you are in i think

Unlocking the bootloader on Samsung triggers a feature that's built into the phone called Samsung KNOX
Once it detects the change its permanent and will void your warranty

1: If you root your device currently there is no way. So far no one has been able to bypass KNOX.
2: In some countries, local laws force Samsung to provide warranty services to rooted devices as well. But unfortunately this is not the case everywhere.
What about in EU, Poland?
Or in India?
Any idea? Or any personal experience?

I can’t tell you what the situation is in those countries, but I would suggest ask several sources.
I inquired at a local Samsung dealer about the warranty in a country where according the local law Samsung should give minimum 1 year warranty to any device they sell in the country even if the device will be rooted.
Despite this the local representative of Samsung claimed that the warranty is void if someone would root the device.
On a local forum however I read that there was someone who took back a rooted device with some hardware related issue and eventually Samsung had to replace the device because the local law.
Hey @vvvvv5 were you able to find out if you can claim hardware warranty in the countries you mentioned above.
My S22 Ultra is having a minor hardware issue.
