As far as I read it will not work with the OTA's of each month, I will need to make it with the terminal, right?
And about the call recordings, it was worked in the same way on the pixel 6 pro?

I wish this were possible in the US. I used ACR back in the day, and providing a legally-recorded conversation won me a small claims lawsuit; my state has one-party consent except in limited situations where privacy is reasonably expected, such as between family members in a shared home and medical facilities.
Google will almost certainly never make this possible in the US, though, as call recording laws vary with each state and becomes more complicated when you are engaging in a conversation between parties in different states. The Google Phone app has call recording built-in for releases in countries with unvarying national call recording laws.
EDIT: This method may work, though I've never tried it and the guide is for the Pixel 6.

Maybe it's removed altogether for the P7, or maybe you're in a region where it isn't enabled. Google itself indicates that it's available for at least someone: https://support.google.com/phoneapp/answer/9803950?hl=en
You quoted me before I added an edit with a link to a method that supposedly works with the Pixel 6. No idea if it still holds for Android 13 and/or the Pixel 7, but it might be worth taking a look at if you're rooting the phone, anyway: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/how-to-enable-call-recording-on-pixel-6-pro-root-needed.4432931/

I do not. I'm not entirely sure that list is published anywhere. And for all I know, it's completely disallowed in Android 13 for everyone.

[BUGS][TESTED] Stock 8.1 June Update v9.6.3.0

Issues on Stock 8.1 June update.
1. Sysconfig Patcher cannot enter Google Play Services on doze mode. It also occurs on other magisk module "Enable Doze for GMS Magisk Module".
2. Video recording does not work on Stock, Google and Snapdragon Camera on some users. You need to install third-party camera app named "Footeaj" to record videos.
3. Google Play Store certification is marked as "Uncertified" to some users.
Issues 1, 2 and 3 does not occur on stock 8.0.
Even if they are bugs, then why post on XDA, their is a official bug reporting section in MIUI forum. What do you expect from posting it here? Xiaomi isn't going to see it, and forget about the fix.
Bug 2 is not true(?) Working fine, device is certified as well, don't know and don't care about the first bug
My video recording does not work as well.
Everything works no bug in my device

[APP] While waiting for ACR Unchained (Another Call Recorder)...

I'm a happy user of ACR (Another Call Recorder), and was sad to see that the app had to remove some key feature in order to comply with google new policies (no more phone number/contact info, you have to add them manually afterward).
You can read more about that on NNL's blog : https://nllapps.com/apps/acr/google-denies-phone-number-accesss.htm
NLL is planning on releasing an "Unchained" version on other app stores, but this version doesn't exist yet (AFAIK)
So, for those who updated by accident to the new version and want to reinstall the old one, I've made this thread storing the old APK.
This APK was made with Titanium Backup from the official application installed on my phone, which I never updated. It's not modified in any way and should work as expected.
You will have to disable automatic updates from Play Store to prevent future updates.
[Advanced]
For the rooted ones : You can prevent Play Store from knowing about the app (and thus trying to update it) with two methods :
You have Magisk :
Install "Detach" by xerta555
Create a text file named "detach.custom" with only one line : com.nll.acr
Put the file at the root of the sdcard (/sdcard/detach.custom)
Reboot yout phone
Note : This didn't work for me, but was supposed to...
You are used to adb/TWRP :
Reboot in TWRP
Mount the /system partition
Plug your USB cable and log into your phone with "adb shell"
Go to the Play Store App directory : cd /data/data/com.android.vending/databases/
Make a backup of Play Store SQLite database : cp library.db library.bak
Edit the database with SQLite : sqlite3 /data/data/com.android.vending/databases/library.db
Copy/paste this update request : UPDATE ownership SET library_id = 'u-wl' where doc_id = 'com.nll.acr';
Exit SQLite with "Ctrl+D"
Reboot your phone

Unfortunately, with LineageOS 16 (Android Pie) I had myself to switch to another application to record my call.
CallRecorder by skvalex works fine in my case, but I use the root method. There are other methods you can try with this app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.skvalex.cr
This app is expensive, compared to ACR, and to me the price isn't really justified (I loved ACR's design and simplicity), but it serves its purpose and does it well. No crash or anything to report, sound is loud and clear (again, using root method, I can't tell for other methods).
There's a trial period, so you can check if the app works well for you without root.
If you try it, please post the result, I'm curious to know !

Yeah, I don't know why, but that app seems a bit shady. I mean, google said that every app that doesn't comply to their rules would be deleted from google play and this guy still has his app which allow users to record both endings of the call? Why is that?
And why does ACR released an unchained version if it does the same thing as the normal app? I thought that the unchained version would work as the app worked before Android Pie.
Thank you very much for your rapid answer! And if you know something about my new questions...

The Google Play policy, if I understood correctly, is about using a certain API to get caller information, it isn't about the recording itself. ACR is still on the play store, but it doesn't log the caller information. I guess it's the same for this app.
The problem with call recording with Pie (again, if I understood correctly) is that Google removed the required API to do so (or at least part of the API), leaving only the "root" way for those who can...
The difference is, ACR will never provide a "root" way to record calls, because that's not their philosophy, they've explained this on their blog.

Switch from iOS to 8T - some questions

Hello
I did pick an Oneplus 8T on Prime Day, its still sealed and
last 3 Days i collect some Informations about Android / OxygenOS and about Custom Roms and Debloat Stuff.
I had an Samsung Galaxy S2 as my Daily Driver , at this time Android was really Bad
in the end i Root and used Cynagon with Android 6? idk anymore.
since those Days i used Apple Devices as my Daily Driver, i try some breaks from the Apple ecosystem with an P30 Pro and S10+ ( for an Month ) but switched back to iOS cuz Privacy issues.
And this is the Reason why i start the Thread "Privacy" is important for me.
So how is the Privacy and influence from Google to Track and Spy at you if u:
1. Create a New Account
2. Turn everything OFF u can
3. Dont use Google APP´s / Services ( Not that hard .. if coming from Apple )
4. Debloat with ADB
and using maybe only the Google Playstore.
Thanks for any helpfull comments
Lineage OS is officially supported on the 8t, for privacy i'd flash that and not use gapps. You can get your bootloader unlocked easily and be off the to races
Or just use oos and debloat all of Google apps with xxxnolimits magisk ROM
You can use Android without creating a Google account. You can also disable pretty much every app.
You do need a Google account to use the Play store. So if you want to install apps without an account, just download APKs from the internet.
Just curious, what kind of information do you not want to share with Google? Or Apple for that matter?

Google Pay not working with Magisk, despite trying everything

I know this is not the only post in regards to the recent Google Pay and Wallet updates not working on rooted phones, and maybe I missed something, but I don't think I'm the only one who has seemingly tried everything, only for it to do the same thing. What I've tried:
Installing Displax's SafetyNet mod
Adding all Google Play components and Pay and Wallet to the Denylist
Editing the dg.db database, including manually and with the GPay-SQLite-Fix module
Changing the device's fingerprint to Android 10 (I have a Pixel 5, so I changed it to a 4 XL, which is the newest similar phone to mine to support Android 10) and Android 11.
Side note: This causes CTSProfileMatch to fail for me, so I see no point in changing it.
Installed DevOptsHide and Hide USB Debug Mode Xposed modules, as one suggested on the Github issue for kdrag0n's SafetyNet Fix.
That was all I could find regarding this issue. It's worth noting that once I edited the dg.db file, it would say that it meets the safety requirements until I try to add a card, at which point I can't, and the safety requirements are no longer met. If somebody can find or share something I don't know or haven't seen, I would greatly appreciate it. It really sucks how hard Google is clamping down rooted devices; it seems like they really don't like it. Anyway, have a good one, and stay safe!
Today all app developers as Google and/or OEMs without any difficulty are able to detect whether their device's OS got tampered or not: you can't prevent this.

LightHouse App that enable GMS in HUAWEI Mate 50 and P40 series, and passes SafetyNet. Is it safe and how is it possible?

Recently in Malaysia, HUAWEI has paid the media to push an app called LightHouse in order to enable Google Mobile Services in HUAWEI Mate 50 series and P40 series.
Once installed, the abovementioned handphone series will have GMS enabled on their phone, and users will be able to sign-in Google like other GMS enabled Android phones. It works in both HUAWEI EMUI and HUAWEI HarmonyOS.
The weird thing about it is that, there are users reporting that GMS enabled through LightHouse application allows HUAWEI Mate 50 series and P40 series to passes SafetyNet, which should be impossible because HUAWEI should not registered the model on their server, hence should not pass SafetyNet assertion.
Would any senior developers or editorial team from XDA like to investigate this issue?
The app I mentioned is linked here: https://appgallery.huawei.com/app/C106308861
You may need to change your AppGallery location to Malaysia for it to work.
SafetyNet has been discontinued and is replaced by the Play Integrity API. Passing SafetyNet attestation is no longer a good indicator of whether apps will work on your device, as it is possible to pass SafetyNet but fail Play Integrity.
More information here.

SafetyNet server hasn't been shut down just yet, so shouldn't the HUAWEI phones fail even the SafetyNet since the models after the ban are not registered with Google to use GMS?
I see no reason that HUAWEI phone can pass even the to be discontinued SafetyNet test.
I will see if I can get any of the users to run Play Integrity API after installing LightHouse. If it passes Play Integrity API, then I think something there might be something fishy between HUAWEI and Google

This does not matter. The real question is whether the GMS dependent apps you're trying to use have migrated to Play Integrity. Chances are they have.

Google is a global company, and the ban only applies to sale and importation in the United States, so I doubt that Google would discontinue support for Huawei devices. The issue here is CTS profiles; if the device has been CTS approved already, it shouldn't matter

Again, that's not the problem. I'm trying to point out that it is pointless to use SafetyNet as a measure of whether apps will work, when most apps have already migrated to Play Integrity.

If you read the thread I linked, I've tried to explain in detail what Play Integrity is, and how it works, as well as the app that can be used to check the results. The Play Integrity API is part of GMS, not the device. However, if I remember correctly, Huawei has not correctly implemented hardware keystores on their devices, making it possible to pass STRONG_INTEGRITY even on an unlocked bootloader.
HUAWEI Mate 50 series and P40 series was not CTS certified device if I recall correctly

So does it means that even without Google CTS approval, HUAWEI devices, if managed to find a way to install GMS, will be able to pass Play Integrity API, and have a working GMS on their phones?

Play Integrity does not have an umbrella "pass/fail". Read the thread I linked, please. It provides 3 responses upon app request. Huawei devices should be able to pass MEETS_BASIC_INTEGRITY and possibly MEETS_STRONG_INTEGRITY but without an approved CTS profile will fail MEETS_DEVICE_INTEGRITY
Most apps require BASIC and DEVICE pass. Some apps may require STRONG.
If you read the thread I linked, this one, you'll see I also linked a workaround that should result in most Magisk rooted devices passing BASIC and DEVICE attestation

That is not quite accurate even if you change your region to maylasia there is no guarantee lighthouse will communicate with Google servers for access to Google account sign in.
Many Google apps will not work with the lighthouse portal including Google pay. There is also a distinction between Huawei and lighthouse gms access that is incorrect. A patched or spoofed version of microg can allow Huawei devices to sign into your account but you may not access Google apps. Furthermore the user will not pass safety net or API integrity.

That is not quite accurate Google LLC essentially removed itself from the PRC years ago. In addition the Dept commerce bis implemented sanctions which prevents many USA based businesses such as Google LLC to conduct business as such with Huawei technologies given entity list status. So Google LLC refrains from licensing gms to Huawei technologies which is based in the PRC. The implications have been thoroughly reviewed by android authority and other resources. The details are covered in the federal register. Google LLC corporate compliance officers and legal staff advised Google LLC to refrain from renegotiation with Huawei technologies. Google did apply for exemption in February 2020 but no further action was taken. So if any Huawei device owner attempts to install certified gms they will fail whether it is in USA, Europe Asia middle East etc.

This is all just standard microG stuff. MicroG can indeed pass safetynet/PI (BASIC), via https://github.com/microg/RemoteDroidGuard.
The only interesting thing Huawei could do is sign microg as system package, meaning it would run as gms *without* need for root, and thus allow for full HARDWARE_BACKED attestation as well.
Can somebody please post the latest update for lighthouse

Thanks, Does this version of the lighthouse works on all oversea models, not just 636 variant specifcially, because all i have seen is that you need to have malaysia /asiapacific variant of those phones to be able to use it. If it's just a opensource github project, how can it work on some variant but not others of the same huawei phones. That really confuse me @Darkisde i saw you following quite closely on this app, any light you can help to shed on the reason?
Unfortunately we do not have access to the developer or a detailed changelog.

Hi
hi.
I am using EMUI 12 with Lighthouse. It works fine with almost my google account except for my company google account (@xyz.edu). Sometimes it works, but sometimes it cannot sync mail and drive, and cannot connect to that account. I have tried reinstalling and readding the account many times but it still did not work.
Do you know how to fix it ?
Thank you
