1) car specific headunits which Steering wheel buttons control are based on Canbus Box CAN NOT BE MAPPED by the Steering Wheel APP. They are hardcoded to specific Headunit functions. There is a tool MTCDTools from @f1x that could help you to assign new functionalities to your SWC buttons.
2) I don't know why do you report it as a problem. It was promised to you that Doors Opening/Closing shall be working with the canbus box supplied? Each Can-Bus Box is capable to decode specific features of the car. If that functionality was not present on PX3 or PX5 is due to your can-bus CAN'T DECODE (or has not been programmed to decode) the open/close door system.
The CarSettings app just receive which functions are being decoded by your can-bus and show the decoded information received.
Can you point me to the location of the CarSettings app? I can't find it in my newly installed headunit. I couldn't find any in the Google play store.
I found a fix for you problem, capu81, you need to go to factory settings, Canbus and try to change the can bus setting with some other value. The can bus box has the ability to decode some dozen car types, and it's probably not set for your car properly. When this setting is done right the apps that everyone is looking for, the Car info and Car settings are going to be available and should contain all the old settings that were available on your factory head unit. The default password for accessing factory settings is usually 126.
And if the canbus decoder is not supporting your vw golf 6, then go to roadnavi and buy their CAN-bus Decoder and select the right model. Eg: RN Model: C257 Golf 7
Thank you to all for the answer.
The doors signal is not a big problem, l leave it in this way.
Steering Well remapping: with MTCD Tools i can create custom action. For example: i've button for MUTE. If i remap button with MTCD Tools and assign Vocal Google Search to it the action is fine but MTCD became MUTE. There is a way to disable factory action and use only MTCD Action?
I have this problem too (no mapping option) but my steering wheel works on my Ford Focus. Check your CAN Bus box and make sure the model of it matches what's selected in Factory Settings. My CAN Bus box is a Raise 06, likewise it is selected in Factory Settings to match it.
@capu81 I am having this same issue with my doors on my Erisin ES6405V. Currently emailing with Erisin back and forth trying to get this fixed. If there is ever an outcome, I will let you know.

I have same exact issue. Did you find a solution to it?
Hello, I have the exact same problem only the other way around, my steering wheel buttons are mapped and working, car is showing open/closed doors but for oil, rpm, speed battery nothing. I tryed messing with the canbus setup and change to other setting from VWto maybe get it to work but no luck. Any ideas on how I can solve this? I have a MTCD unit px3 2GB 7.1.2
I have also problem with CANBus decoder. The only problem is that when i drive and change shift activate rearview camera, all the other stuff (swc, door signals and also reverse enable the rear view camera) works fine. There is something like update or a settings that works fine. I have a FIAT Bravo model >2007 and in factory settings seems to be all ok

These are not "problems" - CAN Bus support depends on your car model, the manufacturer of the CAN Bus box and whether MTC/HCT have written the software for these things. If youve played araound with all the CAN Bus settings and not every function works then there is nothing you can do . . . apart from get hold of the CAN Bus protocol for your vehicle,, the MTCD MCU protocl and then write and app for it. There are 1000s and 1000s of cars on the market (and 1000s no longer made) it would be far too costly to make full CAN Bus support for EVERY car on sale, so only the most popular cars are supported and even then not all models and/or all functionality.
@j0nnymoe - dont waste your time contacting Erisin, they are a seller not a manufacturer and theres nothing they will be able to do.
@typos1 do you think maybe it can be fixed if I update the MCU to the latest version? It just seam strage for it to work in open/closed doors but not for the rest, I'm thinking maybe a mismatch of canbus and software and maybe that is why it dose not work. (Just a wild guess)

Updating the MCU may certainly help.
@typos1 that is good to know, I can keep my hopes high for a bit longer but I am sceptic about the MCU update [email protected] gave me.. He did not test it and there is nobody else I could find that updated to the latest version of XRC to confirm it is the right one.

Yea I gave up on that a while ago. I've had a couple of these units before from other sellers (xtrons/eonon) and the canbus on those units worked fine. I suspect the KGL unit's doesn't like my car for some reason. I toyed with the idea of getting another canbus decoder..maybe if I can get one cheap enough I might try it.

Did you try another canbus decoder?
I've got an a3 and I'm using a kgl unit and nothing shows on my dis screen on the dash but when I've had a unit from xtrons before that did work.. I'm guessing kgl must use cheaper canbus decoders and I've been thinking like you and we're thinking of buying another decoder from xtrons to try
Hi MTCD community.
Thanks to the time between the years (that's how we call December 27th to 31st in Germany), I had time to upgrade my HU. Up to now I had a RK3188 quad-A9 one (Erisin ES2508B, KGL) that had a proprietary power connector and a external canbus decoder box. (more information here: http://vi.vipr.ebaydesc.com/ws/eBay...descgauge=1&cspheader=1&oneClk=1&secureDesc=0 )
That external canbus decoder of the unit has a few dedicated output pins for illumination, reverse gear and a UART (?) style digital RX/TX connection to send wheel-button key commands. It's a perfect example for a Chinese product. This solution it easy and works - almost:
On Mercedes cars the wheel-buttons are used to steer the so called Kombi (KI). KI and HU are connected via canbus. Key commands are send in one specific can-message. The canbus decoder box is said being made specifically for Mercedes cars. While it correctly decodes button presses it fails to decode the current KI menu. As a result the HU will always interpret the "prev./next" buttons, even when you're not in the KI's Audio menu. As a result you either stop using your KI (bad option) or you disable some keys in the HU (that's what I did). The decoder box is also only reading the canbus and thus not able to send audio titles or the current radio frequency/station name to the KI.
Because of the decoder box sitting between HU and KI I never tried to enhance functionality because that would have ment either connecting another R/W canbus dongle to the HU or replacing the chinese decoder box and reverse engineering the RX/TX communication between decoder box and HU.
---
The newer PX5 unit that I now own (Erisin ES7689C, KGL?/LM?, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Android-8...s-W203-W209-/123151147422?hash=item1cac61619e ) has a Quadlock connector (that's the correct name for the multi pin connector that became popular on HUs beginning in the early 2000th) and no external canbus decoder box (it is indeed perfectly plug'n'play). It is also able to identify itself to the KI as Radio which means it is also writing to the canbus. Compared to an original OEM HU, information is still extremely limited and it again fails to interpret only wheel-button commands send from the KI's Audio menu. - But, it is able to write to the canbus, so potentially this is a much better starting point for enhancements.
Now the key question: Does anyone know how the HU is communicating with the canbus? Is the decoder box just inside the HU's housing (and again being an extra translation module) or is it a proper canbus device controlled by an app or service from inside the HUs android?
Good piece of info mate. Thanks a lot
Unfortunately i am not able to answer the question due to limited knowledge.
I own a Mercedes w164 and have the same issues and i am keen to find a solution. Open a thread for that too here > https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...t/adapter-help-mercedes-t3903165#post79005544

Hi I also have a MB lol, a w203.
I have been through several head units of types makes etc, so know exactly what you mean. Although I never heard of 'ki' before.
My latest unit I have is def very good (best was a pioneer with separate car-pi can decoder) and that is also an erisin.
Great minds an all that eh!
The unit I have is a 4/32gb android 8. MTCE. It was working very well until I developed a problem with my reverse camera signal not getting picked up. Was switching OK but no image??
Anyway I bit the bullet and installed the custom rom by Malaysk which helps the camera but no steering control (for me) on 3rd party apps.
There is some talk about mtce files etc but I couldnt get anything to work until I installed a brilliant prog called mtcdtools (free from github).
Very techy to understand / use but with the info and help from others managed to replicate enough to get the two up/down left buttons working perfectly on all apps. It starts up by itself and stays in background. I'm very pleased with result and sure it could do much more if i only knew how. Def give it a go.
Also the up/downs only while in the audio sub menu and they operate whichever music app is running even while in the background if that makes sense. The right volume buttons always worked anyway, and with the phone.
I think the real challenge now will be getting info in the dash display to correspond with what ever app is on top. Currently mine just says audio off when using dab, but displays station number in radio and time elapsed from music player., but nothing from nav.
*******Edit: I was able to resolve most of the issues I've been experiencing with my Android Unit. *******
Incorrect Time- I needed to update my firmware, as suggested by users in the forum. The seller was able to send me an updated version at the time.
SWC- My resolution mentioned down below. I may change it back to CAN key and see if the CANBUS connection issue I had was the real culprit.
Random Power cycling- User error. I didn't realize I didn't plug the power cable completely into the unit.
A/C Display- I have @brettf to thank for this. I initially switched cables like he mentioned below, but found they didn't work THE FIRST TIME I did this, so I switched the cables back to their original [incorrect] positions. The second time around, ie. yesterday, I decided to try it again, but this time, I took into account my CANBUS settings. I changed the CANBUS controls to the last ACCORD_7(Chan........) setting and it finally worked for my system. So, now I understand what most users have been talking about in regards to the temperature only being in Celsius. If there's a fix for this that I may have missed, I'd highly appreciate it.
GPS signal- Lol unintentional user error this time, without realizing I even made a mistake. My unit wasn't labeled with which SMA connector was which for the GPS antenna or Bluetooth antenna, so I had accidentally switched them around during my initial installation. I decided to actually take a look at the diagram on AliBaba's seller page and lo and behold, they were indeed switched around. Previously, it would take over 5 minutes for a signal to be fixed and there was no guarantee it would be stable even on a clear day, but after the switch, the GPS signal is strong and fixes immediately to a signal now.
Bluetooth - Even though I'm not an audiophile, the music played from A2DP sounds even better following the aforementioned sma switch around. Tbh, I'm not tech savvy enough to understand how either the GPS or bluetooth have been working at all after all this time since my initial installation, but it works like it's supposed to now.
Mic- I ordered another external mic, so whenever it comes in, I'll try to update and see if there are any improvements with the quality, as I've realized my old mic sounded "distant" before when it was connected to my iSimple device.
Initial issue mentioned below:
Hello. I recently purchased this Seicane unit:
[Alibaba (**dot**) com/product/62132856562/10-1-Inch-Android-9-0.html?tracelog=null
I've been having the usual issues that I kind of anticipated with these Chinese head units *(ie. time was not set correctly when I initially installed it but I was able to fix it with an update, steering wheel controls no longer work(fixed), climate settings I press on the unit do not display on the screen but the A/C still works (fixed), just to name a few examples). But one problem I didn't anticipate was, my unit continuously reboots/powers off after I turn on the car and/or the screen may not come on unless I turn the ignition on and off again (fixed). With that being said, the Bluetooth cuts in and out as well and microphone quality is subpar at best, even after using an external mic from a previous isimple unit used with my original navigation unit.
So far, I honestly like this Seicane unit and I don't have buyer's remorse, but these little annoyances are starting to add up. Is there anyway I can fix these issues, especially the annoying rebooting? Thank you.

I didn't want to go that route yet until I troubleshoot it myself. Plus, shipping to China is expensive, so that'll be my last ditch solution if I'm not able to figure out these menial issues.
Others here have experienced these problems you should be able to find their threads. From what I've read before the rebooting was linked to the HU losing internet access but those were units with a SIM card port. Setting airplane mode helped when they had no SIM and/or were connected to the phone hotspot. But if there's a problem with a SIM in relocating the antennas was needed otherwise the unit needs repair.
For the HVAC display you need a CANbus decoder specific to your car. It's not unusual for a seller to not include it unless you told them you need it. You have to be very literal and specific with them. One guy received the wrong one and only fixed it by convincing another seller (Dasaita) to sell him one. In your case it worked before and no more after the update then you may need to try different settings in the CANbus menu. Did you get your update from Seicane? If not you should ask them for one.

How would I go about actually changing the wires around though? Do I just pull them out of the harness? Lol, I'm not an electrician, so I would prefer not to break the unit.
I may have figured out the rebooting issue: when I went back to finally check the back of the unit, I found the power cable with the blue harness wasn't completely connected to the unit. Whoops, lol!
I'll test it out whenever I drive my accord again and see if this definitely fixed the rebooting issue.

Just pop them out of the connector. There's a little tab on the metal bit inside the connector. If you press it and pull the wire softly, it will pop out.

I was able to pop them out like you mentioned, but no changes. Luckily the a/c still works, so I guess I'll just leave it as is for now... Thank you for the guidance.
Follow up- so I was able to diagnose and fix the majority of the issues I listed thanks to you guys.
In terms of the steering wheel controls, Seicane's engineers failed to switch the steering wheel control settings in the factory settings to "SWC keys" before shipping it out. I found this setting only after attempting to install a universal SWC remote myself, so now I was able to retain both my original controls and the newly installed remote, which is a nice addition now. If you guys ever have issues with the car's original SWC settings when installing your unit, check your settings by going to:
CAR (Driving, navigation some settings) -> Factory Settings (passcode 126) -> Other -> Steering wheel keys assign -> ***Switch to SWC Keys if it's set to Can key***
Note- I'm not sure if the settings will differ per android software, but my unit is Android 9.0

Switch it back to Can Key and see if it you assign the key configurations.
SWC worked before I figured out the two CANBUS wires needed to be switched around but I don't feel the need to test if this will work in my car, so see if that may help.

CanBus works fine. Every Function works on the 78 Protokoll. Only the Steering Wheel buttons get a "double Input" but i only press once.
And if i switch to protokoll 46 the Steering Wheel Button works perfect but everything else from canbus does not work (Settings for the car)

hello friends, I was wondering if you can help me, my CANbus looks like its working and the steering wheel works too, however, the stereo reboots every 3-4 minutes... the thing is that if I connect something it gets frozen, and a couple of seconds it reboots, if I open an app it gets frozen, if I click on any button of the stereo it will work one or three times but then it gets frozen and reboots it again, I'm not able to listen to anything because the stereo reboots all the time many times... I tried with android 9 same error I updated to android 10 still the error, please can you help me with some ideas, I really believe it is a hardware issue and not software. regards
I have a PX6 MAX6 unit that I bought for Toyota Rav4 that didn't have Carplay, now that my toyota's original unit has carplay, I've decided to mount dasaita's unit in my Citroen Nemo van, I thought it would be simple, buy a new cable and a canbus box (FT-SS-02A) everything works well, the unit turns on but when I try to choose my Canbus box in the list of available canbus is not my model (FT-SS-02A) , I have tried a thousand conbinations and none works, on a friend's radio I have tried the canbus box and it works perfectly and it is in the Canbus list, the model to choose it, we have tested his radio in my car and it works perfectly. I tried to upgrade with CANBUS.UPDE but it doesn't work, it doesn't update, I get an error. Does anyone know the solution?
I don't know how to change that information (the car part), how to copy the information from my friend's unit and paste it into mine, but I don't know how I could do it, because I have updated to the Hal9k Mod versión, MCU, and the “Car” part of the firmware has not changed It's the same, I don't know how to change the "Car" part for my friend's, sorry for my English is very bad.
Dasaita say: "Sorry, we don’t have a suitable canbus"
I wonder if they have a CanBus box/harness for Chrysler vehicles, I bet they do, as they sell units for Jeep. Citroen appears to be a division of Chrysler, now known as Stellantis. Not necessarily saying that all Chryslers are exactly alike but might be worth a shot....
Whatever box they're using for Chrysler might actually work for your application. Just a thought/suggestion.
And if you were to try this, choose one of the Chrysler options in the Canbus selection. The box you have might work if can find the right vehicle/canbus box combination.
Best of luck to you.
Hello. I am looking for a radio to install in my skoda Rapid and I have doubts regarding these FYT uis7862.
1- Would the parking sensors work acoustically and visually?
2- Could I see the information of open doors, temperature, etc on the screen?
3- Can it be integrated with the car's on-board computer to see the phone or navigation?
4- What can be done with these radios that cannot be done with a Px6 or vice versa?
Do you mean FYT based UIS7862

Yes
1- Visually (someone correct me if I'm wrong)
2- Depends on your car and canbus
3- Depends on your car and canbus
4- Esasy rootable and many mods available !
@albertron The canbus is one of the biggest unknowns. Unless there is someone with the same car model and audio, amplifier and climate control as you, there is no way to know unless you try it yourself. You can ask the reseller, but if they say everything works and then it doesn't, what will you do?
Each manufacturer/reseller of these Android head units has code that works with the canbus modules. They don't share code. Some manufacturers are better than others with the canbus coding. Your experiences with other head units, such as a PX6, are not relevant as the code on the PX6 may or may not be used in these newer models.
As cars electronics change and become more complex or various items are integrated such as climate control through the head unit screen, canbus coding for the manufacturers of these head units becomes more difficult. My car is a 2012 Kia Sorento with an amplifier. The audio from the head unit to the amplifier is the only thing that uses the canbus that is used by my head unit. The canbus module that the reseller provided did not work and I had to purchase an aftermarket interface module. I was lucky that I found it. If I didn't find the interface module, I would have a paperweight that I would try to sell.
So, if those items you mention are important or required for you, I would make sure those functions work for your specific setup before purchasing a head unit...any head unit.
The above is what I've come to believe and based on my experience with my head unit and what I've read on various forums.

Thanks for answering. So it's best to ask the seller. Really the only thing that matters to me is that the parking sensor and the buttons on the steering wheel work, the rest of the things are secondary. I have also seen that most radios do not include the canbus adapter and you have to buy it separately, spending another €30. I'll have to look first for an adapter compatible with my skoda Rapid. Although I still have doubts about whether to take a px6 or a FYT with uis7862. I also have the option of an rcd330, but it has bugs that are too serious for me.
What would you do? My use will be 90% listening to music with tidal, and fm radio. The remaining 10% I will use a GPS navigator to travel.

Your parking sensors will definitely work. If you get the correct canbus decoder you will also have visual parking sensors display on your headunit.
Chances are it will work as VAG group canbus codes are pretty well known. I helepd a friend install a MEKEDE unit in a Golf 5 and, even if this particular model was not a choice in setup, canbus integration worked out of the box.
PX6 units are obsolete, go for a FYT unit.

OK, thanks. I think I'll buy a medeke or navifly then. First I will ask the seller if it is compatible with my car's canbus. Another question I had that I forgot to ask: 1 year ago I had an Android radio in another vehicle, and the tidal app interface was unusable when in landscape mode. By any chance someone has it installed and can tell me if they have fixed it? The problem was that you can't access the search, or playlist, or anything. Only the music player comes out with the last song you listened to. Tidal is my main music medium, and if it still doesn't work I could consider other radios with original Android auto.
I have a Joying uis7862 based unit. It does or can do all the things you asked. Canbus adapter was included with the wiring harness. Specifically I have the JY-VQ130N4GN in a 2010 VW Passat.
I see that they offer a number of units for the Skoda Octavia. I don't know how similar the dash of the Octavia is to the Rapid.
