Somebody managed to flash a generic system image. No idea whether the device is based on qualcomm or hisilicon. And seems that it isn't repeatable arbitrarily due to potential efuse writing.

Yes,it's a Huawei P50 prototype
And it can run Windows 11

ROMS for android version beyond 6.0

Hello all,
I have an old ascend mate 7 that a friend gave to me. I was wondering, are there any ROMs (custom or official) for the smartphone that contains an android version beyond 6.0?
I have the mate 7 MT7-TL10.
Thank you
Ok, so I am thinking that I will attempt to compile a version of Android that is above 6.0. However, I do have some questions:
I have already downloaded the source code. I am about to build the source for the Ascend Mate 7. Then, I found out that I might need to know the Device tree? There seems to be some conflicting information regarding this. Using google's guide, all I need to know is the code name for the device and there we go. We can compile the source! (Woot!)
On the other hand, other guides state that I need to download the device identity such as the tree, vendor, and kernel and include this in the source. (See this guide on xda website: https://forum.xda-developers.com/che...pment-t2814763) In another guide, I need to setup the jack server? (https://www.digitalocean.com/communi...n-ubuntu-16-04)
So which is it? Should I just follow Google's guide or do I really need to know the device identity? If the latter, How do I search for the device tree, vendor, and kernel? More importantly, what are these and how do they work in relation to the Android source?
Also, I believe I will need manufacturer drivers for my phone to operate the peripherals. How do I download this? This might be a stretch but can't I get those files from the Mate 7?

[UEFI][Bootloader] EDK II port for Mi Mix 2S

An explain goes first:
This may surprise a lot of people, "Whaaaat? Isn't UEFI a kind of BIOS on PC?" Well, it can also be on your phone too, in fact.
This is an EDK II (UEFI) port for Mi Mix 2S. Currently it's incomplete, but already usable.
What is this port for?
This is an UEFI port, so there are many possibilities. As a second-stage bootloader, it can boot any ARM64 OSes that support UEFI.
At this point, both upstream Linux and Windows on arm are capable of booting. The UEFI firmware itself is very broken, so you should only use it as something which can help you boot OSes.
Status of this UEFI implementation:
Working:
Framebuffer
MMU
UFS
Not Working:
Everything else lol
Status of OS booting
Windows PE arm64 boots with the embedded broken ACPI tables, but nothing is working. You are welcomed to fix the ACPI tables if you can.
Ubuntu 20.04 unmodified iso (kernel 5.4) boots with the broken device tree that I writes.
See GitHub README.md for more details.
Some releases will be provided in the GitHub repo soon.

Seems that I can upload photos now.
Nice project. Looks promising. I didn't test it yet and I'm no developer to support the project. just wanted to say to keep up with your work.
This is amazing!
wow thanks. thats so cool.
keep up the good work waiting for a working release.
I will be preparing for the College Entrance Examination in the next 12 months, so there should be someone to take over the project. You can join the project by telegram or QQ. Link is in the Github README. (You can also join if you are not really a developer)
I remember myself thinking 5-6 years ago ..why not phone companies don't introduce some sort of BIOS for phones? ...it would be awesome and you could even install any OS(..sort of)

Question P11 Plus J616F GSI Or Custom ROMs?

Hey everyone
Just wondering if anyone knows of a working GSi or custom ROM for the plus model of the p11 WiFi?
Lenovo software sucks ass and I'm fed up of dealing with it.
Heya,
Ive seen a guy on YT who flashed a GSI on P11 (not Plus), and worked:

Video (In portuguese):
But honestly, I am running the CN version, and I dont find that bad.. I wouldnt flash a GSI mainly because I would lose the PC Mode / Peripheral model, which are pretty good IMHO
But if you do try it out, let us know here if works

Rooting Realme 9 4G (RMX3521)

Hello !
I've been trying to root my Realme 9 4G version for a while. The main problem is that I can't find any TWRP version compatible with my phone's model. So I tried to find other ways to do it, but the one with TWRP and Magisk seems the best to me. I can't find any other custom recoveries that works on my phone model.
Could you help me? Thanks.
Hi! Did you unlock bootloader ? Because the first thing you need to root any android device is to unlock the bootloader
you don't need TWRP for rooting with Magisk. not sure what the above link provides but the only official download source is Magisk github

Do other rom projects have Device Support Requirements like LineageOS?

LineageOS has Device Support Requirements to make sure hardware works well. This is one of the reasons why I daily drive LineageOS.

I wonder if other rom projects have such strict requirements.
