BASIC TIPS AND TRICKS!!
Access the scientific calculator
To access the scientific calculator, rotate
the phone to landscape mode.
The calculator will change to a scientific
one.
End a phone call by pressing the Power button
Rather than having to locate the hang up
icon on the screen after each call, you can
quickly end a call by pressing the Power
button. It will not turn off the screen
though.
To enable this, go to Settings - Accessibility
- Power button ends call.
Note: Depending on which firmware you
are running, you may need to update your
firmware to see this feature.
Tether your laptop or computer to your phone
You can tether your computer or laptop to
your phone so that the PC uses the
phone's 3G or 4G connection.
To do this, connect the phone to your PC
via USB cable. If a screen appears saying
Choose a connection type, then select USB
tethering and you should be able to start
surfing straight away. If it doesn't then
press the Home key to go into normal
mode. Then go to Menu - Settings -
Wireless and network - Tethering and
portable hotspots. Then tick USB tethering.
Your computer should then install the
relevant drivers. To test, simply open your
browser and start surfing.
Another alternative if the above doesn't
work is to use an App called PdaNet.
Before you install this App, you will need to
go to Menu - Settings - Applications -
Development. Then tick the option which
says USB Debugging. Then download both
the App and the software for your
computer. Once they are both installed run
PdaNet on your laptop and then on your
phone. Follow any other instructions to
complete the process.
Warning: Some carriers will tell you that
tethering is not allowed in their contract.
You should still be able to use the above
techniques, but be aware that your carrier
may not be happy. Also, if you are not on
an unlimited data plan, be sure you do not
use too much data through your laptop or
computer as you may incur extra charges.
Accents and special characters
If you want to type non-English letters (eg
those with an accent), long-press on the
relevant letter. A list of options will appear
for you to select
Add email or phone number from text
To add an email or phone number to your
contacts from a text message, you can
long-press on the email / phone number.
Then select Add to contacts.
Adding pauses when dialling
To add pauses when dialing numbers, or
storing numbers in your contacts, then
insert a comma ( , ) when entering the
number.
This will pause the dialling for about 2
seconds.
Allow swear words in voice recognition
To allow swear words in voice recognition,
go to Settings - Voice input & output -
Voice recognition settings. Then untick
Block offensive words.
By default, the phone will actually
recognise swear words, but will insert x's
instead of the word.
Change your default font(root required, read line on top)
To change your default font, you need to
download a third-party app because
Android does not have a built-in way of
changing fonts
There are two good Apps that allow you to
change fonts:
Font Changer - There is a free version and a
paid version. The paid version allows you to
change the screen density and allows you
to preview the font. You can also change a
few other options.
Custom ringtones, alarms, sms notifications
To use custom ringtones for your phone
ringtone, your alarm or your text message
notification, simply copy an MP3 file to one
of the following folders:
/sdcard/media/audio/ringtones
/sdcard/media/audio/alarms
/sdcard/media/audio/notifications
If they don't already exist, then create a
new folder.
The file will then show up when you want
to change your ringtones.
For Ringtones go to Settings - Sound -
Phone ringtone
For Text Messages go to - Settings - Sound
- Notification ringtone
For Alarm, set the sound when you add a
new alarm
Increase Internal Memory
The problem is:
>When you send or receive files using bluetooth, the files are stored in the internal memory.
Solution:
Solution 1
>Whenever u send/receive a file using bluetooth open "settings", then "applications"
>open "manage applications", select "all applications"
>search for "bluetooth share"
>tap it
>Clear data, clear cache
Solution 2
Get app "Blutooth file transfer" from play store and only use it
or-if u have adb in pc then,
code:
adb shell
$ pm SetInstallLocation 2
Help, I have forgotten my unlock pattern
If you have forgotten your custom unlock
pattern, then don't panic.
After 5 unsuccessful tries a button should
appear saying 'Forgot pattern'. Press this
and you will be asked to enter your Gmail
username/password.
The phone will then ask for a new unlock
pattern. If you don't have a Gmail account,
then you might have to either call your
carrier or factory reset your phone:
1.Take out the battery
2.Press the volume down button+power to boot in recovery mode
3.scroll using volume keys
4.Scroll to factory reset and press power button
5.Done

4 Use Skills for Huawei Honor 6

1. Open the Shut off menu, press it for long and you will enter into the Safe Mode. Moreover, when you phone get poisoned or has small fault, by entering it you can repair your mobile.
2. Choose Setting - Safe - Hidden to protect, you can set two passwords for your Huawei Honor 6 for the sake of a more secure environment. And with the two passwords to unlock for logging in, you will enter into different application environment.
3. Lock the 3G or 4G network, and insert "*#*#2846579159#*#*" on the dial interface, choosing 7 represents network function setting, and 4 for network mode locking.
4. Freeze most of the software. Insert "*#*#2846579159#*#*", choosing 5 represents background settings, and 14 for opening the freezing process function switch. And then come back to the Settings - Application management - All. After that you can stop most of the software that you don't want to use. And you can restart it at any time you want to use.

Dex on PC "?" issue

Hi!
I´m in love with the Dex on PC function since I work with a 3 monitor setup (two external screens + notebook integrated display) and for security reasons, basicaly everything is blocked on firewall, just a handfull of domains are free for access from the intranet and with Dex, I can search, talk and reach anything, using only my PC and without the security concerns...
But, there always a "but": I have a issue with the keyboard inside Dex on PC that don´t happen when using "pure" Dex mode: when I type the interrogation mark (?) character, it don't apperar on my text and it open the volume control, changing the media sound level. This happens in 3 Windows 10 PCs I've tested, with 3 different physical keyboards and with any language layout. Already verified all keyboard shortcuts and nothhing points to volume control...
Anyone have bumped in this issue?

I have played with Dex on PC using my Note10 and USB cable(that is what you are using?) for few minutes couple of times. On your DeX desktop there should be "settings" icon. It will take you to phone's settings and there you will see Dex as the first item. It has few settings for Keyboard and some other... I found out that choosing default Samsung Keyboard on your phone, brings better DeX experience.

I was wondering with the issue is with the host system, not in the Note10 side... I have already tried 3 cables already have wiped the cache partition, updated Dex on PC application and no go...
About the host system, all my Windows10 PCs are pt_BR locale, maybe the application doesn't cope with the diferent system language on the host PC...
Replying to myself, I think the problem is related to the locale of the host computer: yesterday I tested the function my daughter's Galaxy S10e after the update what gave the Dex on PC to the S10 line and surprise, have the same problem with the "?" mark on physical keyboard just like my N10+...
So, I linked the N10+ via "Microsoft Your PC" link for Note10 and this function allows me to remotely access the phone like a remote desktop, showing the native phone interface on the PC, as the photos, messages and notifications, but when accessing the remote interface, I can use the Note10 and type using my PC keyboard, except for the "?" Mark that in this case, doesn't appers to be sent to the phone at all.
To conclude, my theory is that both solution have problens to cope with my pt_BR system locale since even the keyboard being recognized with all characters and symbols, the interrogation Mark don't work work on Note10 via companion PC Link App and neither Note10 or S10 have working "?" mark via Dex on PC, in this case the "?" being recognized as the volume UP key, all of this after testing 3 diferent PCs and 2 diferent smartphones...

Miui keyboard usb - settings shortcut

MIUI 12.0.2 Global
Someone knows how to enter Settings or Search in settings or
Open TalkBack menu (I know shortcut is available as Vol+ Vol- but default is off)
with a USB keyboard connected to the phone?
It is a keyboard shortcut or a sequence of keys.
Under Win + / there is a shortcut list, but not there.
OKAY. After hours of rummaging around, I found a way.
I attach the keyboard to the phone.
Standby phone, pin locked.
I press 2xSPACEBAR, enter the pin, ENTER
(I'm on the desktop)
I press WINDOWS + N, after a while 5xTAB, ENTER
(I'm in settings)
and if someone else wanted TalkBack to turn it on even further:
ENTER
I type TAL
ENTER
SPACEBAR
SPACEBAR
(you hear a voice saying where I am currently on the menu)
WINDOWS + BACKSPACE
WINDOWS + BACKSPACE
My bestfriend is on a mi 9, and she has a broken screen.
For my phone (mi 11) I managed to get to SETTINGS with FN+A keys (oppens search bar) then typing settings and enter.
I will try activate talkback as you suggested, or maybe directly usb file sharing if I can, I'll tell you, you may have saved her her datas
cant manage to delete this post, posted same message twice

[question] OOs 12 how to unlock lockscreen without swiping

hi everybody, I can't use fingers or touch my phone screen because of my physical handicap.I use a bluetooth mouse, I only can tap and scroll but no swyping at all. In OOs 10/11 I simply tap on the lock over the clock then appear numbers for entering pin.
OOs 12 can't do this.
The only way I found
1) disable lockscreen from developer options but this make Gpay not working and need everytime insert my credit card data
2) keep lockscreen normally and tap on a notification to make pinpad appears, but no way I have no notification
3) keep lockscreen and say eg "hey google open whatsapp" then pinpad appears, but if I have no wifi or mobile data won't work
Any usefull suggestions?
thanks

I am also facing the problem with Android 12, Double tap to lock the screen successfully, but double tap to open the screen is not working then I restart the smartphone and everything is fine again.
It made me feel uncomfortable and I went back to Oxygen OS 11, everything was working properly.
I think the old port versions, the development team is no longer focused on perfecting Oxygen OS.
You can refer to this article to get back to Oxygen OS 11.
