is there any way to password lock the phone by pressing power button? maybe registry settings, application, or other way? if some1 can explain how, it'll be really great.
tray icon application will be fine too.
If you enable the password feature, and set the time-out to 0, it should ask for a password every time you turn it on.
no, its not suits me, i have 2 minutes phone turn off setting, and i dont want phone to be locked in 2 minutes. all i need is to lock it with power button and auto lock set to 15 minutes.

Example of use:
You were the hole day away on business and your device PIN is activated. When you get home and you do not want to enter always the device PIN . With this progam you can switch off the PIN easily and quick. On the next day, when you got to work, activate the PIN comfortably by a keystroke without reentering the PIN.
System requirements:
System: Windows Mobile for Pocket PC 2003, 2003 SE, WM 5, WM 6
Screen: 240x320 Pixel or higher
Processors: Samsung, Intel® PXA XScale, StrongARM, OMAP
Its cheap, less than $5.
If it does not power the device off you could use mortscript to run this .exe & a power off .exe & map a script link to a button or an icon or voice command.
Hope this helps.

This program would meet your requirements by having a tray icon or launcher icon.
Mapping it to the power button may not be possible but it could be mapped to any other button if wanted.
This is the only password auto locking software using the standard device lock available.
Your only other option is to create a password on/off MortScript to run Settings/Password and auto input your 4 digit code, tick the required boxes & then run a device off.exe, done this on my old Magician a few years back., works well but its a bit crude compared to Kia's software.
i've download similar application(PSShut XP), but this app doing same as u describe, its runs settings\password lock, and then password promt appears, and u can simply click menue\cancel ). maybe this was working in windows 2003 or wm5, but im using wm6. only thing i've found for that case is vb function SHDeviceLockAndPrompt(), and i need to download SDK and compile an .exe, but im looking easier solution for that problem
clarification
I believe I am also looking for the same functionality:
-scenario: you power off the phone via hardware button and put it in your pocket. In your poocket, the button is pressed accidentally, and because the password lock has not yet auto-activated, the screen is active and you accidentally call your boss, or a total stranger
If this is your scenario, there is a 'screen saver' called MortSaver that can prevent this situation: it requires you to press a 2nd hardware button (user defined) to fully close the screensaver. unfortunately it will not instantly enable the password lock.
this does seem like nothing more than a simple api call, but i would be surprised if there isnt an .exe somewhere to do it aready. will have a look around.

I know S2U2, but it's "too big" for my artemis! I'm looking for a small tool. And I want the device locked securely. Slide is not enough.

S2U2 has a PIN lock, but yes it is a tad on the big side.
BASIC TIPS AND TRICKS!!
Access the scientific calculator
To access the scientific calculator, rotate
the phone to landscape mode.
The calculator will change to a scientific
one.
End a phone call by pressing the Power button
Rather than having to locate the hang up
icon on the screen after each call, you can
quickly end a call by pressing the Power
button. It will not turn off the screen
though.
To enable this, go to Settings - Accessibility
- Power button ends call.
Note: Depending on which firmware you
are running, you may need to update your
firmware to see this feature.
Tether your laptop or computer to your phone
You can tether your computer or laptop to
your phone so that the PC uses the
phone's 3G or 4G connection.
To do this, connect the phone to your PC
via USB cable. If a screen appears saying
Choose a connection type, then select USB
tethering and you should be able to start
surfing straight away. If it doesn't then
press the Home key to go into normal
mode. Then go to Menu - Settings -
Wireless and network - Tethering and
portable hotspots. Then tick USB tethering.
Your computer should then install the
relevant drivers. To test, simply open your
browser and start surfing.
Another alternative if the above doesn't
work is to use an App called PdaNet.
Before you install this App, you will need to
go to Menu - Settings - Applications -
Development. Then tick the option which
says USB Debugging. Then download both
the App and the software for your
computer. Once they are both installed run
PdaNet on your laptop and then on your
phone. Follow any other instructions to
complete the process.
Warning: Some carriers will tell you that
tethering is not allowed in their contract.
You should still be able to use the above
techniques, but be aware that your carrier
may not be happy. Also, if you are not on
an unlimited data plan, be sure you do not
use too much data through your laptop or
computer as you may incur extra charges.
Accents and special characters
If you want to type non-English letters (eg
those with an accent), long-press on the
relevant letter. A list of options will appear
for you to select
Add email or phone number from text
To add an email or phone number to your
contacts from a text message, you can
long-press on the email / phone number.
Then select Add to contacts.
Adding pauses when dialling
To add pauses when dialing numbers, or
storing numbers in your contacts, then
insert a comma ( , ) when entering the
number.
This will pause the dialling for about 2
seconds.
Allow swear words in voice recognition
To allow swear words in voice recognition,
go to Settings - Voice input & output -
Voice recognition settings. Then untick
Block offensive words.
By default, the phone will actually
recognise swear words, but will insert x's
instead of the word.
Change your default font(root required, read line on top)
To change your default font, you need to
download a third-party app because
Android does not have a built-in way of
changing fonts
There are two good Apps that allow you to
change fonts:
Font Changer - There is a free version and a
paid version. The paid version allows you to
change the screen density and allows you
to preview the font. You can also change a
few other options.
Custom ringtones, alarms, sms notifications
To use custom ringtones for your phone
ringtone, your alarm or your text message
notification, simply copy an MP3 file to one
of the following folders:
/sdcard/media/audio/ringtones
/sdcard/media/audio/alarms
/sdcard/media/audio/notifications
If they don't already exist, then create a
new folder.
The file will then show up when you want
to change your ringtones.
For Ringtones go to Settings - Sound -
Phone ringtone
For Text Messages go to - Settings - Sound
- Notification ringtone
For Alarm, set the sound when you add a
new alarm
Increase Internal Memory
The problem is:
>When you send or receive files using bluetooth, the files are stored in the internal memory.
Solution:
Solution 1
>Whenever u send/receive a file using bluetooth open "settings", then "applications"
>open "manage applications", select "all applications"
>search for "bluetooth share"
>tap it
>Clear data, clear cache
Solution 2
Get app "Blutooth file transfer" from play store and only use it
or-if u have adb in pc then,
code:
adb shell
$ pm SetInstallLocation 2
Help, I have forgotten my unlock pattern
If you have forgotten your custom unlock
pattern, then don't panic.
After 5 unsuccessful tries a button should
appear saying 'Forgot pattern'. Press this
and you will be asked to enter your Gmail
username/password.
The phone will then ask for a new unlock
pattern. If you don't have a Gmail account,
then you might have to either call your
carrier or factory reset your phone:
1.Take out the battery
2.Press the volume down button+power to boot in recovery mode
3.scroll using volume keys
4.Scroll to factory reset and press power button
5.Done
I am starting an Android app (on my Galaxy Note 2). It is Rooted.
While the screen is off (or on) i want to be able to double tap a hardware key (ie. Power Button) and this triggers an event within my foreground / background service. If the screen is off, i want the screen to remain off. This is a development project so i require source code to make this happen. I will have root access so if i must programmatically modify standard items on an Android device then so be it.
Can you please recommend articles to help me compose all of the above. The best i've found so far is to replace the default Home Launcher with my own then time it for a double press otherwise launch the default home launcher. I'm still reviewing its limitations.
Thanks
1.How to fix glitchy performance
The relative freedom Android gives apps means your system can often get bogged down, causing glitch performance despite the Note 3’s great specs. One obvious way to solve these it to properly power off the phone by holding down the power button until the power off pop-up comes up – then either turn off or restart the phone.
If this doesn’t help, try closing down all recent apps by holding the central select button to bring up the multi-tasking menu, then tap the ‘cross’ icon in the bottom-right of the screen.
2. How to close down apps fully
If this still doesn’t solve your issue and your problems relate to a specific app, you can delve deeper. Go to Settings>General tab>Application Manager. Then flick right-to-left on-screen to the list of the apps currently running, or all apps. Find the pesky app’s entry and tap it. You’ll see options to ‘force stop’, ‘clear data’ and ‘clear cache’. Pressing all of these will fully reset the app, and should solve most app-related problems.
3. How to perform a factory reset
If none of the above measures have exorcised the gremlins from your phone, you should probably try a full data reset. This wipes everything of yours off the phone, making it just like it was fresh out of the box – so make sure you save any photos before doing this. To perform a reset, go to Settings>General tab>Backup and Reset, and select Factory Data Reset.
4. How to update software
The Galaxy Note 3 will get fairly regular software updates. The phone should give you a nudge when a new update is available, but you can manually check for an update too. To do this, go to Settings>General tab>About Device (it’s right down the bottom). At the top of this sub-menu is a ‘software update’ option. Within it is a check box to make the phone automatically check for updates, along with the manual check button.
I am using EMUI 12 Desktop mode. But native Settings and Phone apps are not exists among the application list. If I find and click a phone number on a webpage phone app appears. I want to pin it to taskbar but there is no option to pin.
Additionally, If a press CTRL+ALT+DEL on physical keyboards, phone reboots.
