Question Incoming Whatsapp call notifications on Galaxy Watch 3 - Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

Hello everyone, I am not able to receive Whatsapp incoming call notifications from S22 Ultra on my Galaxy Watch 3. The same watch if I pair with my old S20 FE, all notifications are perfectly fine. I tried uninstalling & reinstalling Wearable app on my phone but no use. I even reset my watch several times and setting it up from scratch without restoring any backups. But the problem still persists with S22 U. I checked all settings in Wearable app including notification settings for Whatsapp and all set properly.
Is anyone else having this issue? I there any solution to get whatsapp call notifications?

I found a temporary workaround. Downgrading Watch3 plugin to version 2.2.09.22071151 will bring back the WhatsaApp call notifications.
Please note that if you uninstall watch plugin, it will prompt for resetting watch. So backup your watch settings before proceeding.

Using your work around thanks..
Has it been fixed yet though?

I think it has been fixed. I am on the latest version and I receive all notifications properly.

Yes. It has been fixed.
This was actually a problem with Whatsapp. Not Watch Plugin.

Still not working for me on latest version. May I ask what version of WhatsApp you using

Yes everything is working nicely...I am really liking it....just make sure it is connected to the phone via bluetooth and notifications are turned on and checked in the app for which applications you want and notifications are checked in the watch settings

So I restarted the phone and the watch found the problem. As it turned out it was the xposed installer, once I installed that it wont let the SAProvider for the gear work and it would show a message that would say SAProvider has stopped but I figured a way to by pass that, I just installed an old version of xposed installer got my modulars back and now the watch is working juat as it should so im happy now.

OK I'll go with the L29 than.
Hi at all in the general page of Huawei Mate 8 in this forum speak that the problem isn't the Mate 8 but new version of Android, and change same option solve this problem, try to see it
Update from the new firmware B137 for AL-10. It seems the push notifications for FB messenger, whatsapp are working better now but gmail and viber doesnt. You still need to open the viber app to get the messeges or turn on the screen to get the emails... Tested after restarting phone and left it on sleep mode without opening any of the apps. Battery mode set on perfomance. If set on smart doesnt work. But the problem comes back if you free up the memory.
The other problem with google map still remains. It cant determinate your possition on network and wlans (battery saving mode) only if you switch to gps (high accuaracy)
B137 Update
I just updated to the B137 update, and I was able to get notifications from viber, twitter but not from whatsapp or snapchat so therefore I decided to update whatsapp via the hi app as it had an update. I updated it and after was then not able to receive any notifications from viber or twitter either. I deleted the whatsapp and re installed it again from the one in play store and was able to get twitter and viber notifications back again which was strange but i am still unable to get notifications from whatsapp and snapchat. ive checked permissions and notification settings between the four apps and they are all the same.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Android Nougat and the Gear S2, does it work?

Hi all,
I wanted to let you guys know that the Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic both work on Android 7.0 Nougat
I'm using a Oneplus One running 7.0.
The point I tried to connect the watch my phone denied it and told be connection couldn't be made.
After turning the Bluetooth on and off again I was able to connect my Gear S2 with my phone (Probably a ROM bug)
[Improvements]
Everything seems to work fine and I even saw improvements.
Since Android Nougat I am able to see pictures of whatsapp messages, I wasn't able to do that on Marshmallow.
[Bugs]
There is 1 bug, I'm not sure if it's my ROM or the compatibility.
When I browse through my quick launch apps I see the messaging app, the app to send and receive Sms with.
I never saw this app on Marshmallow and it worked!
The app isn't available in the application list, only in the quick launch widget.
Too bad, after adding the app the widget will reset itself or the messaging app disappear from the quick launch widget after a certain time.
You can re-add it and use it, it's just an annoying bug.
[So, does it work?]
Yes, The S2 as well as the apps you need (S health included) works fine, no problems at all so far.
And if I will find one, I will post it here.
Hi, is your device encrypted? I'm planning on buying the s2..but grew hesitant after reading that encrypted phones are having synchronization issues.
(Btw i'm on nexus 6p)
Thanks.
How about phone calls? I have this weird bug that whenever i get a phone call, the names would show up on the gear....but on the phone, only numbers... like i dont have the person thats calling in my contacts.
And my phone wont display names until I delete samsung apps that connects to my phone.
Are you getting the same thing too?
I have the V20 (now with android 7)

Gear S2 Classic only vibrates for incomming calls and texts.

Hi.
I have my Gear S2 Classic paired with a Galaxy S8 running android oreo, and I will get vibrating notifications for calls and texts, but nothing else.
On my Galaxy S5 it worked great. I really miss vibrating notifications for reminders.
Have any of you experienced this? Can there a setting on the phone or something else I have missed?

I think there is a setting where you choose which apps that gets to send notifications to the watch. Check in the Gear app on the phone.

Yes, and I have checked all apps I want notifications from. And I do get the notifications on the gear S2, it just doesn´t vibrate any more. For calls and texts it vibrates, but not for any other notifications.
Am I the only one having this issue?
Same here, I get notifications without vibration for almost all apps. Calls vibrates, SMS vibrates also (even though I am using Textra and not default app) and even Whatsapp vibrates. Sadly Viber does not and I really need it to.

I´m sorry you have the same issue as me. But at the same time I´m a bit happy that I´m not alone. I use textra for sms just like you. And calls, sms and Whatsapp vibrates for me to. That´s it.
I contacted Samsung support and they suggested a factory reset of the phone. Wich I did last night. Sadly it didn´t do any difference.
Hopefully we will get some help to resolve this soon. I need my notifications on my Gear to work!!!
Yeah, I tried factory as well this morning but no help. Contacted Samsung also, but no reply yet. Sad thing is that it was working fine until like 2 weeks back and suddenly it stopped. No Gmail vibration either. I tried everything I stumbled across, reinstalling Gear app, reseting watch, deleting app data, factory on phone, older versions of Gear app, turning vibration on in the android notification settings for each app. Nothing. I am afraid it has to do with Android itself, because only thing I can remember is some minor android update happening, no Gear updates as far as I can recall.
I did try with different older phone and there it was working fine
Still hope it will came back to life.

Okay quick notice, last thing I could think of - deleted Viber and downloaded older version from like 2 months ago. Now its working for viber. I guess that on Oreo the notifications are handled somehow differently as I can see that in each application the Android can change tons of things (Settings - application - choose any app - Notification)
So probably this is somehow tied to sending vibration to the Gear as well. So the older version of Viber is not yet "integrated" into Oreo notification management and that is why its working. Probably?
As I mostly use Viber, I will stick with the old version as long as its working hoping some other solution will be found in the meantime. Will try to contact Viber team as well.
The last answer I got from Samsung support, after testing their suggestions, was that the only thing I could do was to wait for an update. For the Gear s2 I assume. So for now I´m stuck with this lack of notifications. :crying:

Definitely not getting notifications from Samsung's own SMS messages to my S3 - I found weird since it is Samsung's own app not able to get notification. Does anyone having the same issues? not all apps checked 'recive notification' on, still some works some does not.
please do not tell me to reset watch, reset Samsung gear app or plugin - I already done so..
Did you try going into apps on wear app and authorize the app to send to watch? Just a thought.
