The only issue I've run into is that my work wifi (a 2.4/5ghz dual network with same name) won't connect. It tries and eventually just disables the wifi network. Both 2.4 and 5ghz connect on my networks at home (different names for each).
I've had this issue with pixel experience and havoc roms too. I'm thinking it may be a firmware issue? (Ps. I'm on the correct firmware for this ROM)

here's the log of me trying to connect to the dual band (same name for 2.4/5 ghz) wifi.
It keeps defaulting to disabled and it looks like there is some errors showing up in the logcat but the rest is beyond my knowledge

That did not seem to work.
It has to be device specific because I have a mipad 4 and a mi9tpro with dotos that both work flawlessly on the dual band wifi.

I'm actually using orange fox recovery now. I had used a twrp before that worked... I'll scour my computer for the files/links.

The battery has acceptable performance.

Some times it gets laggy. But I think it's due to the hardware. Does anyone had any tips for making the phone smoother?

May I know where and how much it cost?

On the latest build with a clean flash and global Fw 11.0.2.1, vowifi does not seem to be working. It is enabled in both the settings and secret settings menus, as well as through my carrier. Even when turning airplane mode on and only activating wifi the phone app says "radio turned off"

Software Bug report: Long pressing home and selecting 'Wallpapers' results in an instant force close without dialog. Probably an incorrect activity name defined. Navigating via Settings > Display > Styles and wallpapers works happily though. Might just be a Pixel Launcher issue, thought I'd report on it anyway.

Hello! I loved this ROM! Everything works good. But the Always on says my device is unsupported... u know how to fix? Thanks!

Display brightness has a habit of dropping to frustratingly low values at the lock screen. Sometimes I've literally not been able to see anything at all; and had to attempt to adjust the slider blindly using muscle memory. If that wasn't successful; I was forced to hard reboot.
Lastly.. Recently, I put my phone on charge before going to bed - due to it being at 10%. I plugged in my cable and acknowledged the charging symbol as I did so, alongside the charging notification sound. When I woke in the morning. I disconnected the cable, turned my display on and my phone was at 10%... What??? The phone didn't charge the whole night, but was displaying the charging indicator. I reinserted the cable to see if it'd charge, and again it wouldn't despite showing the charging symbol. I couldn't actually get the phone to charge until I rebooted the device. Very bizarre.
I don't have Bluetooth unnecessarily enabled. Wireless was off, alongside mobile data. There wasn't anything enabled that could have explained any excessive power draw. The charger is the standard Xiaomi supplied charger, and the USB-C cable is in good known working order.
I'm really sorry; I wasn't able to produce a log due the rushed nature of my mornings (getting ready for work). Not to mention, it's a hard one to capture as it hasn't happened often enough.

This Rom is so nice and with finger licking good UX
BUT!! My phone is now super slow after installing it and the battery consumption has been bad. I used to be able to go more than one day on a full charge, now I'm down to about a half day on a full charge.
I wiped system, dalvik, cache and flashed the recommended firmware. Have I missed anything?

I would like to withdraw any of my old complaints about wifi issues.
I have since wiped/formatted and flashed the latest miui eu rom (miui 11 Android 8), then wiped dalvik/cache and data (I DID NOT wipe vendor or system) then flashed the latest dot os and then after flashing formatted the data partition.
So there must have been a corrupted partition because of me constantly flashing different roms.

No wipes are needed between updates from Descendant itself, unless specified.
If you're having problem with SafetyNet, please, install Magisk along the following modules:

Corrects steps for to flash it, from Xiaomi EU rom are:
- Boot to TWRP
- Wipe all partitions
- Format data > yes
- Reboot TWRP
- Flash rom
If you follow these steps, no bootloop. I have flashed my device 100+ times and i never experienced a bootloop. All builds for descendant are tested with clean flash.

I am with latest descendant version on my Mix3 and i have not this problem, try with an other cable or other charger..

Excellent ROM I tried it and it is very fluid and intuitive, but I found a bug, when playing a video either YouTube or another it usually stops for 1 second in a period of 7 seconds of playback, and a suggestion regarding security, no let the power button work when the device is locked and give more restart options such as recovery, bootloader, also not allow to see the status bar when the device is locked, I appreciate your dedication and I will be pending your work

Sorry for the late reply,
For your bug on Youtube, i have not that bug on my device and any of testers or users of the rom.
For your suggestions lead dev of rom doesn't like advanced restart. For power button when device is locked, all roms, even MIUI is like that and same for status bar. All of that is from rom sources and i can' modify them like i want, it is an official build. Soon it will come september security patches build.

it's been over 1.5 months and no updates.... the ROM seems stable and responsive for now but a monthly security update is much needed.

Updated 3 day's ago. You need to clean flash 8.4 so won't get a ota notification on previous build .

That's a shame. I'm using Nova Launcher. I tried to switch to the native launcher, lock the apps and switch back to nova but it had no effect (makes sense, since it's a launcher thing)

Though I am currently facing two issues, one is that if I use a different launcher like the provided crdroid launcher the home glitches, and also the sensors like accelerometer GPS compass, etc. aren't working. Is anyone else facing these problems and if so any solutions?

1. The launcher may be incompactable or needs module support like quickswitch.
2. This can be occur to serveral reasons.
-did you flash gapps after first boot?. try deleteing /data/misc_de/*/apexdata/com.android.permission/runtime_permissions.xml
or clean flash rom , dont forget flash gapps before first boot.
2nd cause is this may occur if you are coming from a pie based rom
check your sensors using sensorbox app in play.google.com

I was using MIUI stock before this and while in the stock I had all the sensors available in the sensor box app.
And I did flash gapps, but not after first boot but rather after flashing the crdroid Rom itself.
I will reflash the Rom and will update you shortly!

Fixed Update!
I had to revert back to my stock MIUI with the official fastboot Rom to regain sensor functionality, and after flashing crDroid again, it's working fine, and the launcher issue is gone too.

Can someone help me out: I'm trying to wipe my phone after installing this ROM (messed up some things so basically reinstalling).
However if I try to wipe the data in Orange Fox, I get a TON of errors
Here's the last one in an incredibly long list (takes two minutes to scroll through): Error opening: '/data/ssh/OFJF8xpsY7U8SodJ9qcy6B' (Operation not permitted)
There are a ton of files in the sdcard that I can't open or access or do anything with.
I've never encountered this type of problem before, how do I fix it exactly?
Edit: To clarify, I can't wipe the data partition and I don't know why that is.

Is there anyway to disable the auto app suggestion in the dock at the bottom of your screen?
I like having only 4 apps in there and like the gap for the visual break it gives me. But its quite annoying that the last used app is automatically going in there.
Solved: Click on the home screen - settings - misc - last option (I think its called suggestions)

where,s twrp? i try 2 differnt but getting the same errror this zip for violet and device is oneplus8

Anyone wants to install can follow Oneplus 8 Pro guide. I used it and it works. Rom is butter smooth. Thank you, developers.

I didn't get such errors, but you should test a few things.
1. Make your PC have adb access to mobile. When the popup or adb access shows check always allow to avoid hiccups.
2. Put the rom file inside the adb/boot folder and make sure there are no spaces in names.
3. Last check drivers or change ports and also don't put files where administrator access is required.

Other roms work fine, all drivers are installed and file is inside the adb directory.

Just wanted to add my experience of loading this on my Oneplus 8. @RogueVisual this should solve your issue as well (See step 8)
As @kurogami555 mentioned, use the instructions from Oneplug 8 Pro instead. This has the link to the Recovery.img file you need to download and flash.
I was unable to use the command 'flashboot reboot recovery' after flashing, I'm not sure if that was an error on my part but I was able to boot into recovery mode by turning off the device and holding Volume Down + Power. Do not let go of the power when it appears, use the volume key to select ADB Apply Update then let go.
Next when sideloading the ROM, I was experiencing an error "adb cannot read rom.zip". From another XDA Forum posts, I discovered that I needed to unlock Large Address Aware for adb. After doing this, I was able to successfully install Elixir and it's a lovely project. In summary, my guide for a first-time install is the following:
1. Download the Elixir Project from the above link.
2. Download the Recovery Image from the Oneplus 8 Pro Guide
3. For ease of use, rename the Elixir Project zip to rom.zip and the recovery image to recovery.img
4. With your phone connected to your PC in debugging mode, type 'adb devices'
5. Once your device is listed type 'adb reboot bootloader'
6. Once rebooted, type 'fastboot flash recovery recovery.img'
7. Once complete, power off the device.
8. Follow the link on this forum post and download the laa_2xx file
9. Type 'adb kill-server' in your terminal, then run the exe file and find your adb.exe program using the 3 dots.
10. On your device, hold Volume Down+Power and DO NOT LET GO.
11. KEEP HOLDING THE POWER BUTTON, once Recovery mode shows up, use down button to highlight ADB Apply Update then let go of the power button.
12. Use the power button to select ADB Sideload.
13. In your terminal type 'adb devices' your device should be listed with sideload next to it
14. Type 'adb sideload rom.zip' and it should begin to install. Mine took a long time.
15. Format data/Factory Reset and then Reboot. You should be all done!

I used the 8 Pro guide to flash its recovery image, but it won't boot into new recovery. Anyone can help?

Nice update

With this twrp, after boot twrp, clear data and restart to twrp i cant upload zip with ROM. Then i tried dump boot.img and sideload zip, but after that pixel experience recovery show me info like "there is no rom, try factory reset".
Finnally i boot twrp and sideload from there and now is working.
But unfortunately gpay not working for me. Safety net passes, no root. Any ideas?

TWRP is little broken. Couldn't upload ROM to storage. Even sideloading finished without error just for 4ht time.
About ROM. I have very annoing issue - screen is not working after unlock. For last 2 hours it hapend 3 times. The only way is rebooting to bootloader with 3 buttons. Translation in ROM realy poor. Seems like 5-10% for all system isn't translate. Also can't say trat UI is super smooth. It's normal.
Will wait PE 13+

I did everything as explained but my internal storage after reboot to recovery (after Format Data) is still "empty" and I cant copy the ROM in there .. I dont know how to get past this issue. I guess its still encrypted somehow.

twrp still isn't fully supported, why do you need to move the rom in there? You could just install rom through adb sideload.

I'm having screen blackout issue when the phone stays idle for sometimes just like that of oos 11. The screen just black out but you can see that everything is work but no screen.

Ok because i can't delete my posts above i try to explain what i did.
I yolo'd and startet my recovery pixelexperience and connected it to my PC (dont forget to activate USB debugging).
Then i used on my PC the commands:
adb devices
adb sideload ProjectElixir_3.1_guacamole-13.0-20220922-1442-BETA-OFFICIAL.zip
My phone started to install the ROM and stopped at around 50% without an error.
I restarted my Phone and everything seems to work so far.
The already known bugs are still in the rom, e.g. that the slider on the side does not mute the media

Fingerprint is smooth 95% percent accurate.

Best a13 custom ROM so far

I'm getting "No SIM card" with Verizon, but my old deactivated AT&T SIM card is recognized.
At the lock screen I get "No SIM card - Home", however, if I remove the SIM card it changes to "No SIM card - Emergency calls only", and in settings, Mobile Plan, says Unknown SIM operator. The weirdest thing though, is that with WiFi off I'm still receiving texts and calls and can accept the call no problem, but I can not send texts or make calls.
Other than that, this really does look like one of the best custom ROMs.
