Question How to tell if I have the Indian or European version of OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G? - OnePlus Nord CE 2

I just bought a OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G that was advertised as "International Version", expecting it to be the "European" version of the phone, but I think I might have gotten the "Indian" version. I say this because it came with a paper insert that mentions the 4g and 5g bands and power limits that are supposedly supported by the phone, and the list doesn't agree with those of the "European" version. It doesn't agree with the "Indian" version either. The phone model number is IV2201.
According to the OnePlus website, the "Indian" version supports:
LTE-FDD: B1/2/3/4/5/7/8
LTE-TDD: B38/39/40/41
5G SA: 1/3/5/8/40/41/78
5G NSA: 1/3/5/8/40/41/77/78

According to the OnePlus website, the "European" version supports:
LTE-FDD: B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/17/18/19/20/26/28/66
LTE-TDD: B38/39/40/41
5G SA:1/3/5/7/8/20/28/38/40/41/78
5G NSA: 1/3/5/7/8/20/28/38/40/41/66/77/78

And according to the paper insert that came with my phone (One Plus Nord CE 2 5G IV2201), whatever version I have mentions the following, which doesn't agree with any of the alternatives mentioned above:
LTE: 1/3/7/8/20/28/38/40
5G: n1/n3/n7/n8/n20/n28/n38/n40/n41/n77/n78

How can I know whether I have the "European" or the "Indian" version? The phone is not rooted. I would prefer not having to root it just to figure this out.
Thank you.

Same for me, bought it off amazon and it seems to be the indian version. I plan on rooting it and for that it seems I need boot.img and vba.img from the latest full system upgrade. However for the eu version there don't seem to be full system upgrades (yet?) only partial ones.

[Q] OnePlus 7 Pro - Does it have 5G

I'm very confused about this point. I'm guessing the answer is NO because I'm sure it would be displayed pretty prominently on the official OnePlus website if it was 5G compatible. I thought that the OnePlus 7 Pro was going to have 5G included and the OnePlus 7 wasn't going to have the 5G?
Can someone please clarify this
No, it doesn't have 5G support, there will be another version of the 7 Pro released later this year (possibly only in selected markets) that will have a 5G modem.

Ok thanks. I'm definitely NOT buying this phone then. I'm good with my Note 9 for a bit longer then.

FWIW, judging by the LTE roll-out, by the time 5G hits NYC, 1+8 or 1+9 might be out already...

No clue and I don't really care. As duncanbyy said: If you buy a 5G phone now, you'll probably want to buy a new phone again before 5G actually becomes viable. Instead, it's probably going to have worse battery life because the 5G modem couldn't be integrated in the Snapdragon 855 SoC but is an extra chip...
The 5G variant should be released around the time that the 7T would have been released, but there won't be a 7T. T-Mobile's 5G launch should be some time this fall. For anyone wanting a OnePlus 5G device, the 7 and 7 Pro are not it.

exactly this. no reason to hold out. no 5g infrastructure around me even. by the time that comes - or if - I'll be getting a new phone. no doubt. but that's easy due to my region.
then now that we are talking about 5G models
can anybody tell me why some phones are called GM1915 an some GM1917
Yes OnePlus team claims it'll support 5G

I have asked the rep from OnePlus if this will support 5G and he said yes it will there isn't a different device you need to get. The pro is 5G capable and this is confirmed.

If it's 5G capable why isn't that advertised?

Because no providers offer 5G for at least a year no matter what they claim. At&t lies. They don't deliver 5G and neither does VZW. The other two don't claim to even be working on it right now.

I'm sorry but you're the only person I have heard say that this phone is 5G capable. Every Google search shows websites stating that there will be 3 variants of this phone:
7, 7 Pro and 7 Pro 5G.
IDC if the infrastructure for 5G won't be completed for s while. I need to know if this phone is really 5G capable or not

The 5G the OnePlus 7 Pro supports is for Europe and Asia only. Not North America!
I believe this identifies the phone as either the unlocked or carrier version.

It's a firmware difference. Nothing more. The hardware is the same outside of the T-Mobile version having the second SIM tray filled in, but flashing it will enable the second SIM slot.
That is not true

There is no 5G phone specifically for any region. It will work with 5G (OnePlus 7 Pro variant) . And real 5G is not coming to TMO for years from what rumor has it. It will need to be a firmware update more than likely as the antenna in the phone are all the same! I asked the rep and he told me that it was ready for 5G. You do not wanna believe a guy that works for the company and said he goes to pop up events in cities like LA and NYC then dont. Buy something else. The rumors that they would make two different phones were incorrect. There is no such model as OnePlus 7 Pro 5G. That is because all the 7 Pros are 5G capable. So do not want to trust me, fine. Buy a crap Samsung 10+ that supposedly is 5G ready. I would bet that the antenna in it is no different than OP7Pro.
The teardowns have been definitive. There are no 5G mmwave antennas or Snapdragon X50 inside.
Is there undisclosed 3.5 GHz 5G capability? Maybe. The firmware has hints of it. But again, no identifiable hardware to use it.

Correct, OnePlus confirmed the 5G version have slightly different insides to fit the 5G modem. So standard Pro wont work with 5G.

5g version dual SIM?

Anyone know if the 5g version is dual SIM... Two different people say two different things. If I pay to get a dual SIM tray from eBay...
Regards
The 5G version, which is currently only sold by EE, is not dual-SIM. It can be flashed to the dual-SIM international firmware but you lose the ability to use 5G by doing so. You would also need to replace the single-SIM tray with a dual-SIM tray.
The international firmware has no firmware, drivers, etc. to run the 5G X50 modem. Unfortunately, that is only contained within the 5G firmware.

Is this something that can possibly be fixed software-wise in the future?
I wanted to get the oneplus 5g but I needed dual sim as well (plus the relatively worse support as updates have not yet been seeded to Oneplus 5g unlike the non-5g versions) - sounds like EE and OnePlus bamboozled consumers with a more expensive but poorly-supported 5G version

You can restore the original firmware to restore 4G, but you will lose dual-SIM. However, you could try flashing just the OTA on the %G to see if it leaves the 5G enabled while enabling dual-SIM. I haven't seen anyone doing this specifically on the 5G model but flashing the International US OTA on the T-Mobile stock firmware leaves you with a T-Mobile dual-SIM hybrid.
Hi, how did you get on with this as I was considering the 5G, but like others didn't want to lose dual SIM?
I have ordered dual SIM tray to give it a go as was told by rep at OnePlus the 5g does support dual SIM it's set to single sim at ee request ?
Please update when you receive it.
I've made one of the SIMs to fit in the tray without buying a dual SIM tray and it's not dual SIM capable. So I think it's the EE firmware to be blamed for single SIM use....?

The activation of the dual SIM facility will be in the firmware. The 5G version has two modems the x50 for 5G and the soc 855 built in 4g modem. Until EE/ OnePlus releases this and the Wizards on xda find what's blocking the function,we are batting blind!

The dual-SIM hardware is there. If you flash one of the international firmware versions, you will enable dual-SIM, but at the cost of losing 5G. You only have 5G with the 5G firmware, because that firmware is the only one that contains the X50 modem support.
what firmware will work on my op7 pro 5g as i want dual sim not bothered about 5g
Sorry to bump an old thread. But any idea what firmware I'd flash on the European (EE) variant in order to enable dual-sim?

This is incorrect, there is no way to enable dual SIM on the GM1920 or GM1925. This would require a modem.img with the SDX50 dsds configs, which we don't have.
you can however the flash the European 10 update on to the Sprint model, there are issues with Sprint data, but non Sprint carriers work fine.

The only difference between the 5G and non-5G models is the add-on modem. All devices have the dual-SIM slot, just the SIM tray needs to be swapped if the firmware is changed. The global firmware does not have anything to run the 5G modem, meaning it won't work, but 4G will. Whether flashing the Global, EU, or another firmware, only changes the bands and carrier support. Clearly you didn't fully read my post before saying it is incorrect.

Clearly you dont own one and havent tried, or you'd know it doesn't work.
I have.
I'm well aware the hardware is there for dual sims, but we have not found a way to enable it, the non-5G firmware WILL NOT BOOT FULLY when flashed via dd and fastboot and we have no way of using an msm to see if the result is any different... I've worked closely with the "guac for all" devs on this matter...
If you're actually interested in knowing more or think you can get it to work somehow, pm me and id be happy to brainstorm with you.
But myself and a group of others havent been able to enable DSDS, it's not just as simple as you are implying it to be if it is possible at all.

Does GM1910 (China) model support UK 5G bands ?

Has anyone tried using Chinese GM1910 model on EE 5G bands ?
As I understand EE uses n78 band, but I dont see it as advertised in GM1910 specs.
Thats a 4G phone right? so how would it support 5G Bands?

Mate 30 Pro 5G Bands

I purchased a mate 30 pro 5G. However, after doing a bit of research it looks like China and Europe have chosen to use different 5g bands than the US. According to the phone spec sheet, it doesn't look like the phone is compatible with US 5Gg bands. Am I interpreting things incorrectly?

That's what it looks like, but I get 5g sometimes with AT&T. Some of their mid and low bands are compatible. I think more bands are opening up in the US so who knows what eventually will happen. I don't believe Huawei has launched the European version yet. They were waiting to see if the ban would be lifted so they could launch with Google play. Check the bands on gsmarena they have both models listed and the bands for each.

If you're referring to the 5G radio aspect and compatibility then according to gsm arena they all have the same frequencies.
Personally, if I were you I'd cross reference lio-an00 and lio-tl00 5g radio specs from an official Huawei website and compare it to what my countries 5G network has. That way you'd be 100% sure.

I have the 5G version in Spain and it works correctly although my operator Movistar has not yet deployed the 5G network in my city.

Chinese version?

Has dual SIM.
I'm tempted to buy and import to UK. However, not sure:
1) If Wifi calling works (I've seen online some short-codes to input into dialler). Anyone know if these work (specifically 3 UK)
2) Situation re. network. Obviously I'm pretty sure 4g will be OK but not sure on 5g (Currently 3 UK and Virgin UK/EE/Vodafone)
Any suggestions?

Is that even possible, or lockdown and heavy usage at the time of testing, side by side?
My Chinese version works fine on 5G in UK. Not sure about Italy but in UK we only use N78 5G band and the mi 10 Chinese version has that and several other bands so I'm not sure what you mean by a 25% difference in speed?
