Hi everyone, I am using Ml09 and I would like to have data connection to automatically turn to 2g only when I turn the screen off and back to 3g/2g when I unlock phone. I had that option on Note 2, but on my shiny new Mate 7 I could not find a way even though it's rooted, because all solutions need a working xposed. I don't have xposed installed because it screwed my theme and icons. Is there any other way to auto toggle 2g/3g or possibly a proper working xposed for our magnificent Mate 7?
No mate it isn't..
Enjoy your mate7 as it is..
Peace
Actually I found a solution: Xposed 2.6.1 works perfectly with Mate 7 without messing up themes. After installing it install Intelli3g and phone switches to low power consuming 2g network automatically when screen is turned off and back to 2g/3g/4g when you turn on the screen. This helps with rather poor standby time of Mate 7 (1.5% power hour).
Hour this helped anyone.

So is it defo NOT messing icons up ? that version ? all is intact ?
Throw us link...
Edit : it is crap it foks up system still !!! i cant even activate it i got msg in app that something is with my ROM and when I update framework it is still red after install and reboot.. crap
what version of mate7 u have?
Edit 2 : had to disable resources in settings tho... still phone behaves weirdly ... like there is signal but bars shows no bars ..
Don't install version from this forum and do not try to install 2.6.1 from within Xposed. Here is what you have to do:
1. Uninstall Xposed
2. Go to http://repo.xposed.info/module/de.robv.android.xposed.installer and choose 2.6.1 or just download this apk: http://dl-xda.xposed.info/modules/de.robv.android.xposed.installer_v32_de4f0d.apk
3. Enjoy
When I tried to install through Xposed it could not install, but this method works and it does not mess with themes (make sure to check - theme issue compatibility - or something like that in Xposed settings when you install it).
Cheers!

2g/4g switching
Hello!
I tryed your sugestions but i can't auto comute between 2g and 4g. I installed int3lli 2g, but my phone stay allways in 2g. In status bar it is showing 4g, but the real connection is 2g. Why?
Maybe try LeanDroid.
Get it from Google Play. Does have some root functions.
***The following modification will only work on Stock, Rooted OC3(Android 5.0.1) builds. Use on a non-stock custom ROM may cause issues***
**Required** Root access and FlashFire - Play BETA - PREVIEW
1. Join the G+ community using the same Google account as you're using for Play on your phone/tablet here: https://plus.google.com/communities/116661625291346007584
2. Sign up to receive the BETA versions from Play here: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/eu.chainfire.flash?authuser=0
- Use the link provided after sign-up to download the app.
Instructions:
1. Place the I337_OC3_TetherAddOn onto your device (use either internal or ext-sdcard)
2. Open the FlashFire app and "Agree" to the Terms and Conditions.
3. Press "(+)" twice to bring up the "Actions" menu.
4. Select "Flash Zip or OTA" then locate and select the I337_OC3_TetherAddOn.
5. Leave "Auto-mount" unchecked under the "Options" menu and press the checkmark to continue.
6. From the main menu press the lightning bolt then "Ok" to begin the flash (leave defaults settings under "EverRoot" and "Reboot" options).
The screen will turn black then display the contents of your system, flash the .zip, then reboot. Done!
I think I'm going to try this just to get some experience with Flashfire, since I don't really tether. XD
Update: Flash seems to have succeeded with no hangups, but I don't have mobile data to test results.
This installed and worked great. Tested and used it twice.
Only issue is today I got a letter from AT&T stating I needed to stop tethering else they are going to change my data plan.
I rarely ever tether.
Anyone else had any experience with this? I'd like to go to 5.0.1, but don't want to lose tethering.
Hiya, link to I337_OC3_TetherAddOn seems stale. Any chance you could update, would like to enable tethering on my phone (OC4). Thanks muniz_ri!
Found it on another thread, thanks!
For guys who are unable to proceed after the language selection when a new rom is flashed, Here is the solution. There is no use of going to settings<selecting Apps < searching for setup wizard app < Force stopping and giving permissions again. After lot of attempts successfully got a solution. but dont know how it might effect the daily usage.
Steps:
1. Reboot to TWRP
2. Click on "Mount"
3. Select "Data"(check mark the data option)
4.Click on Mount the selected storage (don't remember the option exactly)
5. Now go back and click on Advanced
6.Select file manager
7. Scroll down and search for System folder
8. Again scroll and search for priv-app folder
9. Now Search for Setup wizard folder.
10. After entering into the folder, u can see setup wizard apk. Simply delete that by pressing the icon at the bottom right corner and choosing on delete option.
11. You can see a promt asking to delete. Simply swipe it.
12. After go back, Make a Factory reset and reboot the device.
The only bad thing is, it doesnt ask for language selection or wifi or google account setup. It directly goes to the launcher. Not sure how this is going to effect the daily usage.
One thing I found is unable to expand notification drawer.Im new to 7.1(Resurrection remix). may be need to explore new options.
Note: if you got process force close error, click on wait and select the launcher.Thats it.
if this thread helped, dont forget to hit thanks.
P.S: Sorry for my simple and bad english
Edit 2: (The perfectly working one)
After selecting language, then long press the power button, go to settings and connect to wifi and then proceed to login to google. This doesnt make setup wizard close.
credits goes to @Di5cip1e .
The problem is also solved by updating to latest GAPPs. The ROM you were trying to set up was updated to 7.1.2 and the GAPPs you were using were old.
Nice thanks
*MUST HAVE ROOT*
First thing you will need to do is *have root, and TWRP* set up on the device.
If you don't have that done yet this WILL NOT be possible for you here. If that is the case there is a great guide here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/recovery-twrp-v3-lg-stylo-3-plus-t3649621
The LG Camera works wonderfully in my opinion, but, the Google Camera has a couple features I like, that the stock camera simply doesn't. Photo Sphere, and Lens Blur.
Panorama is great, but it only works in straight lines. With Photo Sphere you can take omni-directional pictures. Pretty cool, and worth the effort to spoil your phone and yourself with such a great feature!
Continuing on... let's begin shall we?
You will need to head over to OpenGApps to download the GApps "Aroma" for ARM, Android: 7.0.
Save this to your phone's internal or SD (somewhere easy for you to find later in TWRP to flash)
Use a BuildProp editor (I personally used the one within ROM Toolbox Lite)
Find the setting called "RO.BUILD.TYPE"
Change the value from user to eng
This will want you to reboot. Do it.
You should now see a red text overlay on your home screen saying eng and some other info.
This step is ONLY to by-pass the signature check when attempting to install. (which will otherwise fail in user mode)
Now reboot into recovery (TWRP)
Go to "Install" and select your GApps file (open_gapps-arm-7.0-aroma-20171214.zip)
once it runs, select *only* the Google Camera.
-Tap Next.
If you want to keep the Stock Camera (I would, at least until we are 100% sure you won't have any issues later, and need it again, since I haven't really tested this out for more than just an hour or so since figuring it out..) then
Check the box for :
+CameraStock
-Tap Next
Nothing to do on this page, we don't want to remove anything.
-Tap next again
Now we are on Advanced Options
Not sure if it is needed (haven't tested) or not, but just to be safe, I checked the ForceClean box.
-Tap Next and Install.
For me, It hung a little at the end of install.. just tap or drag on the screen and it will come to its senses lol.
Reboot to System
You should now have a working google camera installed.
*But, Wait Just A Minute! We Aren't Done Yet!*
Now we need to go back into BuildProp and set RO.BUILD.TYPE back to user
Reboot again.
Now your Google Camera is broken due to lack of permissions!? No problem. Simply head into your settings>general>apps and select the newly installed Google Camera, go into it's permissions and you'll notice they are all off. Turn them back on.
DONE. Working Google Camera on your Rooted Stock Android 7.0, 10c/10d firmware!

After flashing lineage just flash gapps. You don't have to do the build.prop editing when flashing gapps to lineage.

Follow Instructions Carefully otherwise you will get error :
Wipe cache, dalvic cache,system,data
Flash ROM-Flash Gapps
Done-Reboot Now
Enjoy the clean rom
Tested and working on 10e firmware.
After installing, TWRP says there was an error, gapps aroma said it installed, but after restarting phone google camera was there and working.
After changing ro.build.type from eng to user I did not have to reset permissions. They stayed the same.
After changing the build prop stuff I never got the red text on my home screen. And after the install I had no errors but Google camera wasn't installed.

-- About the ROM --
The ROM is based on the latest official stock build vernee_M5_171106_59960-ota-1509963705 provided by vernee
Features / changes in comparison to the stock build (excerpts):
- deodexed
- rooted with Magisk
- BusyBox
- signature spoofing enabled
- signature verification disabled
- Google Play Services replaced by microG with original Google Play Store, Google Calendar, Gboard, GoogleSyncAdapters, ...
- Xposed Framework
- substratum support
- debloated (TouchPal, most GApps, .. )
- apps added (excerpts)
- Ruthless (Pixel 2) Launcher
- MiXplorer
- Material Xposed Installer
- ViPER4AndroidFX Materialized
- Google Markup PORT
- Mie Alcatel Camera
- original AOSP apps
- . . .
- UI and framework tweaks and mods
- fully classic material themed
- faster default animation speed (1 -> 0.5)

- material shapeless launcher icons (Lollipop/CM12-14.1 style)
- android P style nav- and status bar
- . . .
- and many more ..
-- How to install --
Method I
Flash via TWRP recovery
- Copy the zip file somewhere to your device (internal/external storage)
- Boot into TWRP
- *optionally, but definitely recommended* Factory reset **A dirty flash may work, since this ROM is stock based, but there is no guarantee for that
- Flash the zip
- Reboot
Method II
Flash via SPFlashtool
(NOT RECOMMENDED, BECAUSE YOU WILL MISS SOME MAGISK FEATURES, WHICH YOU HAVE TO RE-INSTALL MANUALLY)
- Extract the zip file
- Open SPFlashtool
- Load the scatter file from the extracted zip folder
- Turn off your phone
- Connect ONLY your usb cable to your pc
- Click "Download"
- Connect your device to the cable
- Let the process finish
- Disconnect your device
- Turn on your device

2. in microg settings enable google device registration and setup the nlp backends
3. start playstore and log in to your google account (now the RH-01 error shows up, right?)

yes, usually i use twrp. but i also flashed with flashtool..
i also installed it coming from the 250917-version.

perhaps something country related or microg related..
can you upload your logcat? are you familiar with that?

hmm ok, then i don't know..
but there is a magisk module which fixes (or tries to fix) the low incall volume.
in the download section of magisk manager search for "Android Mic Fix".
it is actually targeting qualcomm hardware, but it might work for mtk too, so give it a try..
regarding your ikariam problem: enable google cloud messaging (gcm) in microg settings, then clear data of ikariam and restart the app.. should work now..

You have to install magisk again from magisk manager to use modules
Magisk consists of two parts:
1. Patched boot image
2. Some files in data Partition
Unfortunately I am not able to create a proper userdata image at the moment (I'm working on it)
Therefore the magisk files in data Partition are missing, when you flash the ROM.
Follow these steps:
1. Open magisk manager
2. Go to magisk settings
3. Choose update channel "beta"
4. Go back to magisk main screen
5. Click "install" -> "install" -> "direct install (recommended)"
6. Let installation finish
7. Reboot
Now you are able to use magisk modules.
You have to repeat these steps after every data wipe or factory reset to use modules.
BTW: have you activated Besloudness in sound settings?
And have you tried ikariam again? Is it working now?
Cheers

It is way better than on stock rom. There are a few build.prop tweaks which aim at battery life.
But the main factor is the microg replacement. I would guess, it saves at least 1/3 of battery life..
just give it a try!
btw: today I will post an update with some small, but important changes. so look out!
