Hi all
I have an old p20 pro with emui 12. I have managed to get the wireless android auto working using Google searches, but for some reason I can't get the data to run off my data

I have read up to change the WiFi details of the head unit (eonon) that I am tethered from, by doing proxy stuff but really don't understand?
I have the same problem. I was able to use wirelessAA with my huawei p20 pro phone with developer settings. However, since the phone is connected to the vehicle's wifi network, it does not use mobile data. For this reason, I cannot use any online application, including maps. I read in the network settings of the tool that it is necessary to write a fake proxy manually, I typed something randomly on this screen, but without success. Any ideas on what I should do about this?

Hello Everyone,
I recently upgraded to CM 12.1 and discovered that my WiFi won't automatically connect to my router anymore if it doesn't detect access to the internet (I'm in China and Google is Blocked). I believe this explains why this is happening as there is internet and having to manually connect each time is annoying at least Is there a way to disable this "new feature" ?
Regards,
Bob
In Settings, got to WiFi, press the menu button in the top right and there should be an Advanced settings section or something similar (sometimes varies based on ROM/Language). Then untick the Avoid poor connection option. This should resolve your problem. If not, you may not have the correct firmware for 5.1.1
I already have Avoid poor connections unchecked. Any other way to fix this?
Does anyone have any ideas? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Try disable mobile data before connect to wifi, maybe this way should help

I have the EXACT same problem - it really does happen because you're in China and the method of internet access testing is through Google servers blocked in here.
I'm still trying to figure out how to disable the test or maybe reroute the destination.
It would definitely be a temporary solution to make the VPN active 24/7 if you put it on the router instead of on the phone / computer etc.
Let us know if you find a solution!

this was a very popular and general problem for every Chinese user with google service device.
you have to root your phone and manually change the google server address to a local substitute site, or just turn off the google server detect.
the easiest way is to use an APK developed by Chinese to have all these things done in a click.
search NoExclamation Portal Server 1.5

came here with a google search. this problem is generic to later android versions. i'm on cyanogenmod 12.1 which is i gather is android 5.1.
looking at DNS logs, it tries to access: http://connectivitycheck.android.com - which redirects to google and fails as it's blocked by the GFW.
just downloading the chinese apk to fix it... the link to it i found is: http://m.hiapphere.com/apk-org.foxteam.noisyfox.noexclamation
EDIT: so now got noexclamation the app running, but not sure it's doing anything. UI is in chinese, not sure what options to deal with and how. anyone have success with it?
EDIT2: it's like this: install the app. leave it at defaults where it's using the developers website for connectivity check. toggle it ON if it's not already (i believe needs root). reset network settings by toggling airline mode ON/OFFl. you're good.
however - conceptually better fix would is to take the "feature" OUT, not alter the server that it's checking the accessibility of. from the chinese thread, i gather this will get done by:
su
settings put global captive_portal_detection_enabled 0
this seems to survive reboot as well. problem solved, end of monologue!
I used phone clone to go from a Mate 9 to the Honor Note 10 and have the issue with my wifi, where it is working fine for web browsing and apps, but Google does not see to be working as I can't see my google home or chromecast. If I turn off wifi all these notifications come. Then youtube will work but after a while, same thing, no connection. Gmail same problem. Exact same problem with my wifes phone, we used phone clone from a P10 to the Honor 10. I thought phone clone worked well but maybe it is the cause?

I fixed my own issue, was monkeying around and a pop-up came up telling me that google wifi services were blocked? I unblocked it, does anyone know how to go to this setting directly on the phone?

Hi
I bough a demo retail p30 pro and im trying to get it to work ad a regular phone
I removed the demo and p30 pro experience programs. Then i found out ill be missing few options
Like lockscreen. (i also found out if u install google's Find my phone it will enable lockscreen passcode and i also can enable finger print option now)
Most important issue now is i cant seems to have mobile data O_O. Mobile data toggle is on but theres no mobile data, i also cant enable LTE
I also checked each app premission to access mobile data but i cant toggle those on either
Does anyone have any solution for that?
: (
Have you fond solution ? How did you remove demo ?
I am having trouble logging into a wifi hotspot that uses captive portal logon. My cable company, Cox Cable, has wifi hotspots throughout the area. It also has an affiliation with CableWifi to provide service. Both use CaptivePortalLogin where you have to enter your Cox user id and password. I can log onto the network using my Ipad (wifi version) or my old Nexus 6, so I know the credentials are good. But when I try to log on to the network with my OnePlus 7 Pro, I get either a "cannot connect" message (with Cox) or "unknown error" (with CableWifi). I am pretty sure this worked when I was on Pie, so it is particular to Android 10. I have tried clearing the cache in the CaptivePortalLogin app. I am almost ready to try and downgrade to Pie (just to confirm it did work), and maybe it will remember the login when I go back to 10.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Update: I just downgraded to Pie, and it works just fine. So it looks like something to do with Android 10. Perhaps Cox isn't compatible with Android 10? Hmmm....
Update 2: After loading Pie, and logging to the Cox network, I then updated to Android 10. I tried the wifi hotspot and it works. So I am guessing it is something to do with CaptivePortalLogin on 10. Anyway, as long as I don't remove the wifi networks I guess I will be ok, but it would be interesting to know if others have this problem and how they solved it.
Hi all,
Just like the title says, my Pixel 4a doesn't allow hotspot. It says "To use Mobile Hotspot, please call customer service to subscribe." But if I put the SIM into my G6, it works fine. Bought the phone from Google. My service is Verizon. I have the grandfathered unlimited data. Any suggestions? I was thinking of getting a new SIM card and seeing if that does the trick, but concerned that it may block the hotspot on my G6.
Found the answer to my problem. If you by chance checked the box to allow Verizon to manage your phone, you may need to reinstall Android and start over without that part selected. It's finally working.
