At the moment i using AncientOS. No issues found.
LineageOS has least bugs as compared to other custom roms (it performs best with default stuff no need to change anything like kernel etc). My stats are
LineageOS 19.1
KangarooX Kernel r18
Gpu Driver [email protected] (TWRP variant)
i like crdroid rom the battery and performance are great with built in miui cam

I think there are 2 great ROMs available.
ArrowOS => Stability, Performance and Battery Life are unequaled
CrDroid => Most of customisations, MIUI CAM included and very good performance, stability and battery life
Both are usable for regular users

How do you flash the GPU driver? Ik I need to go to addons and select the one I want, but then on TWRP would it work if I adb sideload it, or there's a different way. I'm currently using the magisk module for the driver

in order to use TWRP variant, your rom must support SystemR/W (read write) ... if your rom have that support follow the steps
1 :- Download your desired driver from here
adreno driver for sm8xxx/sm7xxx/sm6xxx
adreno driver magisk module for sm8150 or sm8xxx/sm7xxx/sm6xxx family running on R or newertested on sm8150 and sm8250WARNING : [email protected] has known crash issues when used with magiskWARNING: BLOBS HAS...
dl.lybxlpsv.com
2 :- go to TWRP > Advanced > Terminal
3 :- write "mount /vendor"
4 :- Go back and flash your driver in TWRP
5 :- Use "Device Info HW" app to check if your driver is successfully updated or not
Note : You can check for yourself in TWRP terminal by using "mount /vendor" command if it shows nothing then it's (vendor) mounted otherwise it will show error (means you need to make your rom SystemR/W-able)

Chihayafuru might feel like an awkward name for a kernel, but the meaning is pure and beautiful. Inspired from an Anime series, the name means "do towards good direction powerfully" like a "thousand swift swords". That's exactly what this kernel is.
This kernel has been made with love by cherry-picking commits from most of the work already done by other developers and introducing other slight changes which ensure your device gets the love it deserves. From performance to battery saving options, you're in full control of your device and the plethora of configurations available allow you to tweak it to your needs.
Presenting CF Kernel (ver 0.90) for Huawei Honor 8
Compatibility Notes:
This kernel is tested to work with stock EMUI 8, Treble 8.x and 9.x ROMs. Compatibility with other ROMs is not guaranteed, However, this doesn't mean I won't support them. If you face a bug or issue, please report it here and I'll happily take a look at it.
GPL Notice:
This kernel conforms to GPL license requirements. Thus all the source code is freely available here without any charge: https://github.com/hackslashX/android_kernel_hisi_hi3650
Recommended Apps:
To tweak most of the settings in the kernel, I recommend using EX Kernel Manager: https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/paid-software/app-ex-kernel-manager-t3560850, Kernel Adituor: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grarak.kerneladiutor&hl=en and FK Kernel Manager: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.kernel&hl=en
Early Release Notice:
The kernel is still young and not yet mature. However, with time and your support, we can help make this project rock solid stable for Honor 8. Even though my initial testing has proved good, things might break on your end. Don't fret when that happens, take some logs and send it to me so that I can take a look at them and attempt for a fix.
Features:
Compiled with UberTC 4.9 toolchain with Cortex A53 and O2 optimizations
Upstreamed to v4.4.198
Added blu_active and enabled sched CPU governors (sched, blu_schedutil)
Enabled Scene Aware, Performance, and Powersave GPU governors
Enabled HiSilicon GPUFreq Hotplug and Frequency Hopping feature
Disabled useless drivers and features
Say no to Huawei D.U.B.A.I analytics and root scan feature
Disabled Huawei OASES and Livepatching feature
Disabled Swap and zRAM for much smoother operations
Mali GPU tweaks for improved performance
Added zen, FIOPS IO Schedulers
Added westwood and other advanced TCP algorithms
Fingerprint boost driver for quick recognition
Added CPU boost driver to reduce input lag
Reduced allowed wakelocks and better timer frequency
Boeffla Wakelock Blocker to kill unecessary wakelocks that interrupt your device sleep
Dynamic Sched Tune CPU support
Fast USB Charging support
Option to toggle FSync
Option to toggle SELinux to Permissive or Enforcing
Wireguard VPN support
Improvements to the sound module and vibration driver
... and more which I didn't note down or forgot xD

No root is not affected after flashing this kernel.
The kernel image only modifies the 'kernel' partition and leaves the 'ramdisk' one as it is.

For gaming you can also set GPU governor to Performance for a more better experience.
I've noted down your request. I'll do my best to deliver.
I never flashed custom kernel before. Is there any chance of permanent brick? If something goes wrong, can't I just flash stock kernel and get it working again?
Also, do I need to wipe data after flashing kernel to see the changes?

There's no chance of permanent brick. Restoring is as easy as flashing the stock kernel via fastboot.
You don't need to perform a data wipe. However, you should allow the kernel to 'settle' i.e. use it for 2-3 charge/discharge cycles to see the effect.
@hackslash .. Installed it yesterday, seems to be working fine.. Jus wanted to check, I m running LoS B5, any specific recommendations on the Governor setting for battery?
I'm using openkirin RR b2. Recent Openkirin on H8 seems to have the problem to barely go into deepsleep or not anymore at all after a while. So I suffer from a quick battery drain. The support channel suggested to try out a custom kernel. I wonder if you know that this kernel will solved the problem?
How about future openkirin or kernel updates? Will I have to go back to stock first or can I just flash new openkirin while still being on this kernel?
Thanks for your hard work! I recently flashed it and it works like a charm!
UPDATE 1: I redownloaded the EMUI 8 package and now it contains everything, including the stock kernel.
UPDATE 2: Short-term experiences: The fingerprint scanner's performance is drastically improved and now it is just as fast and accurate as on EMUI, the camera performance is now closer to EMUI, but there's a little room for improvement, the fast charging is faster than on EMUI, the phone doesn't want to overheat anymore on my custom ROM and overall the phone is now a little bit faster. I'm testing it with the Kirin-GSI AOSP Android 9.0 Pie ROM, not with an OpenKirin ROM, but it is really stable just like on EMUI and OpenKirin ROMs. And I have a suggestion for bugfixes for Honor 8s (eights) running this AOSP Android Pie ROM: Please fix the broken hotspot function in kernel level on Honor 8s (eights) running this custom firmware, implement the EMUI camera app into the kernel and make the camera performance identical to EMUI's. The Kirin-GSI project is now abandoned because the dev bought a new phone which is not a Huawei phone, so he wouldn't fix the problems anymore. It's really annoying that I can't share my unlimited cellular data to friends or to my PS4 when I'm on vacation.

Have you used fastboot or TWRP? If you used TWRP, you need to flash back the stock recovery and the stock kernel, then you can try again flashing CF via fastboot. Flashing with fastboot makes different results than flashing with TWRP.

Noted. I know what's causing the issue. I disabled several touchscreen drivers since not all of them are needed for Honor 8. Flash stock kernel for your device and please send me the file:

Thanks for taking the time to review the kernel.
Let's get some facts straight. First, camera performance has nothing to do with the kernel and 'camera app' can't be implemented inside the kernel. That's not how things work. Camera processing and everything is handled by Android and so your ROM developer can help you with that. Taking about hotspot, I'm not sure why it doesn't works with Pie. Again, I believe it's a ROM bug and has got nothing to do with kernel. I would wait for Pie releases by OpenKirin team and see if that bug exists there too and 'really' requires a kernel hack to fix it.
I just wanted to advise that I have installed and used every ROM in the Honor View 10 forum.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-view-10/development
Need:
- Honor View 10 ROM
- gapps (https://opengapps.org/)
- Your current p20 pro kernel (backup with twrp)
- Magisk 17.1 zip
- Huawei_P20Pro_B131_Camera.zip (https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11050483647474833532)
- HwCamera2_addon.zip (https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ktNZWP8O0Oqnm6Zb5c_mFpwKyHvkdCTK)
Note: Pixel ROM doesn't need gapps, and after installing one of these ROMs on first boot it maybe reboot on its own once or twice, it's normal. I'm gonna try and export the IR blaster apk from the stock image, might work. maybe....
Doesn't work:
- NFC
- RAW picture format
- Headphones by type-c
- Dual speakers
- VoLTE (Not yet tested)
They have lots of great customization options, note when I installed Android 9 ROMs it breaks twrp, not sure why but erecovery brings me back every time.

This thread is intended to make people aware of other roms development for the moto G6 ali,
I've been digging around for a nice rom for my device and found a few roms besides the great official Revengeos rom,
It is quiet hard to find them on the internet, most of them happens to be on telegram groups,
so here is some other roms for the Moto-G6-ali:
PixelExperience-Unofficial:
So far my favorite rom made by jeangraff30 Github , Download Link
Gapps Included
ArrowOS v10.0 Unofficial:
Made by Deivid_21 Github, Download Link
AospExtended v7.3 Unofficial:
Made by AndroidOnTheFly Github , Download Here
LineageOS 17.1 Unofficial:
Made by betoxxD Github, Download here
ResurrectionRemix v8.5.9 Unofficial
Made by abbotshek Github, Download Here
none of them are perfect but if more people get involved in the development we could have a few nice roms for this device,
please let me know if there are more roms that should be in the list.

Welp, I've given them all a go. My honest experience is that PixelExperience gets my vote. It has the call volume problem (loud) like the others, but audio is good (install ViperFX yourself), and battery is excellent. I have no problems with apps misbehaving like some other ROM's, and the games I play run the smoothest on this ROM. The phone passed the safetynet even with magisk not hidden. I am impressed. I don't know about the rest of you phone users but with the XT1925-2 best root comes with magisk 19.3, then just update after everything is done to 20.4 (do it in system, not recovery) and yep. Hands down best so far.

My favorite too I've manage to build a newer version with the august 5 patch, will try to add back the Dolby audio like the lineage rom does no promises tho I'm a beginner...
the FM app also doesn't work on this one and the motocamera2 app crash if you switch to 4k, besides that it is very good.

No, just for charging. Not even stock has it, so I don't think it's going to happen.
I'm on Pixel Experience as well as of time of this post and battery life is longer than RevengeOS as expected. Even better with Helix Engine with most apps underclocked. This Rom is smoother and faster, but not gaming heavy. No camera problems too (using Parrot Mod GCam) and has google aps preinstalled. I even managed to keep the cpu as cool thanks to helix engine! Safety net check is true without magiskhide as well!
Battery life (using helix engine underclock, max clock speed 1401MHz)
4-5 hrs of Videos
8-10 hrs of Music Playback with minimal screen time
Standby deep sleep time 4-8 days (without sync, on battery saver mode)
You could get up to 2 days of use when used lightly.
I LOVE THIS ROM!! BEST ROM EVER!!!! I RECOMMEND OVER REVENGE!!!

I'm not experiencing any call volume, or really any, issues with Pixel Experience on my XT1925-6. Battery life is great.
But after using RevengeOS I did have to flash back to stock to get Pixel Experience installed properly.

I think the Video Recording bug was fixed. Bluetooth was fixed. Everything seems to be fixed. FM Radio is still a bug. Other than that. Made the switch and.....
Well, it's WAY SNAPPIER THAN PIXEL EXPERIENCE! Battery life is great too. Less RAM use too! Love this rom! Give RR 8.6.0 A TRY! Another bug was Fingerprint gestures for "home" "back" and "recents" don't work... Better use the gesture navigation then. Other than that it has A LOT OF CUSTOMIZATIONS and the kernel/performance is optimized nicely!
Battery is 4-6 hrs of screen time, Sleep standby time up to 4-7 days. Music Playback 9-14 hrs with very minimal screentime. Daily driver use for up to 28 hours! Battery is better than Pixel Experience.

Imo it is normal flashing
Updated ResurrectionRemix to 8.6.1
Also reflashed from scratch and skipped Gapps to extend ram and battery life and improve performance. Gapps imo wastes battery. So it performs really fast on rr without gapps. Best rom on the g6 in 2020!
I'd like to give a try to PixelExperience on my XT1925-5. But I have a question - which TWRP should I flash at the very beginning? I plan to use this version - PixelExperience_ali-10.0-20200722-1353-UNOFFICIAL.

4) Flash ROM
5) Flash gapps
6) reboot

I see that the installation is easy, could someone send screenshots of this rom.

OneUI port roms are incomplete and got a lot of system, ram and have a lot of bug and nothing works in system and i think battery performance in Havoc Os now i using its great battery life and now usage ram is lower than 800 mb
Many apps i can install in aosp like samsung app
But in OneUI i can not install it.
I used note20 ultra port and all of OneUI roms ported. I like radical quak rom but in arm64 have lot of bugs. Now because i installed this roms my battery is broke and always my phine charging.
Sorry for my bad english.

arm32 will be unusable at 2021-09 due to google's policy. no apps will run then. save money for A new phone
