I've switched to a GSI, and I have been using GCam just because I liked how the UI and app icon looked. I didn't really like it, doesn't work well, slow, and the photo quality is mediocre while the file sizes were outrageous. I just want to go back to the stock camera on OneUI, without going back to OneUI. It worked well and the photos looked good. Where can I get the APK for it? And would it work just by installing it normally? Also I'm not sure if it's allowed but sharing the file here would also be nice.
I did have the same experience. However the ONEUI APK didn't work on the GSI and gcam also had issues. There seems to be something wrong with the frame buffer.
I am using the stock One Ui 4.1 with Google Camera and photos are really better with Google Cam. I'm using "Shamim's SGCAM_8.4.400.42...V35" from https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-shamim/. I've configured a bit the options and pictures are really better than the stock cam. However, I think using the Samsung Camera on GSI is impossible because it uses some closed-source code which is only on the One UI.
Thanks for the answers. I've just been using Open Camera and it's exactly what I need, not sure why I didn't switch sooner.
Can I ask which GSI you’re using?
Hello,
I also use Open Camera on my phones, no bugs, many options and compatibility with all manufacturers

I've another question, are you using the latest version (415) or 414. And have you flashed the VBmeta disabler? Thanks for your time

I'm using the Android 13 build (20220929), I kinda regret upgrading from 12 tbh. Yes, I used the VBMeta disabler.
Sorry for the late reply, I'm really busy and don't have as much free time as I used to.

Does it work without root? And does disabling VBMeta make phone status custom? Because I still want to get update from Samsung.

After testing a few ROM's on this forum I find that there is always an issue with the camera app.
Right now I'd like to stick with the PixelExperience or OmniTreskmod ROM, but the OOS camera crashes when I try to use slow-motion, and the GCAM apk also crashes frequently. (I've tried the latest December version and also an older version)
Are these features not available for custom ROM's? Should I just modify stock OOS with magisk modules to make it look/feel like a Pixel?
Edit: Does the OOS camera needs the OnePlus gallery to function correctly?
I have no issue with the latest gcam or included oos cam in AOSP extended
GCam works well, you just have to load a good XML

I cant find any information on xda about loading an XML file. Where can I find this XML file for the OnePlus6?

So does your slowmotion video work? TreskMod had an oxygenOSCam.zip file, maybe it's just out of date. I'll search the forum for a different OOScam
have u find something out there??

I've moved to the OnePlus7Pro and it has the exact same issue. From what I've seen you cannot use a custom ROM on a OnePlus device and have a fully functional OOS camera app. This is sadly why I'm moving away from using custom ROMs.
thats too sad, cause getting a new version phone is caused mostly you wanna have a great camera too, isnt?
otherwise, why to buy a such a expensive phone when the quality of the pictures is like some years ago??

Hello,
I have my ph1 with LineageOS 16 - without gapps. I also have the 360°Cam to use. But the Essential-Cam-app (version 1.0.13.001) can't work with the cam. The fan is only working. No picture from the cam is showing at the display.
Is this normal without gapps? Is it working with gapps or is there a workaround or a app by any xda-developer?
Many Thanks, thk_ms
Gapps have nothing to do with it. You need a proper driver from Essential and probably some supporting libraries to make it work, that's why it only works on stock. I was wondering if the 360 camera works on Android 11 GSI preview (along with the vendor image released by Essential), but it was confirmed on the Reddit forum that it doesn't. And I would definitely not expect it to work on any custom ROM like LOS...

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 10, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

I certainly plan to give it my best. Ims is quite a must for me on my carrier. I plan to work on that once I finish up a few bugs that I have left. Nothing major though.

I know that USA carriers have some strange implementation of IMS (Don't know much about just know it doesn't work on phones outside of the USA most of the time)
I can certainly test it on a more standard IMS setup which actually has no ODM image installed for my carrier.

I've seen this only once before. Your partitions are different than standard. You'll need to flash TGY firmware in order to flash lineage.

If you guys want ota via the lineage updater just add this line to your/system/build.prop
Code:
lineage.updater.uri=https://raw.githubusercontent.com/klabit87/OTA/master/crownqltechn.json
In my tests, ota zip didn't want to auto install in twrp for some reason. Maybe that can resolve later but it's easy to navigate to /data/lineageos_updater and install the rom zip. My searches indicate it's a common issue sometimes?
This will be included in future builds. This is for those that want to get ahead.
I plan to upload an update/ota tomorrow.

Just released an update with lots of stability and sepolicy fixes.
I also implemented OTA in this build and will be using Github.
Updated with latest June security patch and a few stability fixes. The screen lockup some are experiencing is still a problem I havent been able to fix it just yet. But I am working on it for sure.

No to both.
I mean a custom rom such as lineage could be possible for your locked devices but not my builds.
You'd need to find someone willing to put the effort in to create a custom rom compatible with you guys' particular situation.

Alright, so I installed Evolution X, and everything works properly, BUT, I can't get the stock camera app. All guides I found on the internet (advising me to use systemizer + apkmirror), (yes, i have root), didn't work, with the app either insta-crashing, or blank screening. Please help!

Oos cam on aosp is exactly what it is a wip. Still not available . Must use g-cam and they are horrible on the 9 series. This is main reason I have yet to flash anything.

Alright, gcam it is. Is open camera worth considering?
this wont work or happen unless the person providing the custom rom includes the correct vendor blobs /files to make it work on custom roms until then your only options are using the built in camera with said custom roms or using gcam
Hi guys,
I've used several of the ROMs that are available for the OnePlus 9, and the feature that i miss the most is the ability to spoof the name of the phone to make it work as a pixel. Is there a way to make this happen in the original android 12 rom with root?
The reason for this is the unlimited space in the google photos.
Thanks

There are magisk modules for both tasks your asking about. One for photos and one to change fp
Did you figure it out? The Pixelify Magisk module is what you're looking for if not.

I would try it but I'm on a custom ROM and happy with it for now. It works flawlessly on 11.2.10.10 as well as a custom ROM that's using OOS12 firmware.
If you use the Magisk bootloop protector it should be relatively safe to try but I understand now wanting to risk it. Having to restore is a tedious process.
Pixelify isn't supported (yet?). You can however install Lsposed and use the Pixelify GPhotos module for that functionality.

I am using Nameless. It's pretty good but my fast charging broke. It starts off fast and then slows down. Hoping a fix is coming. Also beware that the stock camera hasn't been sorted so you will have to use a GCam mod.

Can anyone help me? I installed pixelify (via lsposed) module & Universal safety net fix by kdrag0n however since I have rooted, my phone keeps getting hacked. Like last time all my gmail accounts got hacked in the midnight & morning my phone was hot. I thought it was bcz of mod apk so I uninstalled. Tbh my insta & Twitter also got hacked many times & it posted some bitcoin stuff even before root. Does any brother here know what's happening to my device? Would be thankful.
