Question OnePlus 9 Stock Camera app for custom rom - OnePlus 9

Alright, so I installed Evolution X, and everything works properly, BUT, I can't get the stock camera app. All guides I found on the internet (advising me to use systemizer + apkmirror), (yes, i have root), didn't work, with the app either insta-crashing, or blank screening. Please help!

Oos cam on aosp is exactly what it is a wip. Still not available . Must use g-cam and they are horrible on the 9 series. This is main reason I have yet to flash anything.

Alright, gcam it is. Is open camera worth considering?

this wont work or happen unless the person providing the custom rom includes the correct vendor blobs /files to make it work on custom roms until then your only options are using the built in camera with said custom roms or using gcam

Camera app stability on custom ROM's

After testing a few ROM's on this forum I find that there is always an issue with the camera app.
Right now I'd like to stick with the PixelExperience or OmniTreskmod ROM, but the OOS camera crashes when I try to use slow-motion, and the GCAM apk also crashes frequently. (I've tried the latest December version and also an older version)
Are these features not available for custom ROM's? Should I just modify stock OOS with magisk modules to make it look/feel like a Pixel?
Edit: Does the OOS camera needs the OnePlus gallery to function correctly?
I have no issue with the latest gcam or included oos cam in AOSP extended
GCam works well, you just have to load a good XML

I cant find any information on xda about loading an XML file. Where can I find this XML file for the OnePlus6?

So does your slowmotion video work? TreskMod had an oxygenOSCam.zip file, maybe it's just out of date. I'll search the forum for a different OOScam
have u find something out there??

I've moved to the OnePlus7Pro and it has the exact same issue. From what I've seen you cannot use a custom ROM on a OnePlus device and have a fully functional OOS camera app. This is sadly why I'm moving away from using custom ROMs.
thats too sad, cause getting a new version phone is caused mostly you wanna have a great camera too, isnt?
otherwise, why to buy a such a expensive phone when the quality of the pictures is like some years ago??

MIUI Stock Camera application

I have created this thread to discuss the fact that if anyone was able to extract the Stock MIUI camera application for Redmi Note 8/8T (ginkgo/willow).
As we all know that using Gcam gives better photo quality but Gcam isn't fully compatible with our device. The wide angle lens, macro lens and I also believe the depth sensing lens don't work on Gcam hence not using the full capacity of the device camera hardware.
It will be great to have the Stock camera application alongside with Gcam so that we have better quality images using Gcam and also use the other camera features using stock camera application when needed.
Also anyone having the required knowledge to extract the Stock Camera application can provide a guide as I own the phone and am willing to get the application.
Well you're right, and in fact i'm already using both camera's applications when needed and i find this great!
It IS possible to extract the stock Camera apk simply using an app like Skit or ApkExtractorLite (but i strongly recommend the 1st one), no need to guide, it's simply as a couple of taps. Just done so on my phone as a test and it works. Maybe it's not exchangeable between different variants like from Global to India, China or another region, but it should be fine if on same version.
Have you tried doing it by yourself or you're in need of the APK file?

I own an Indian variant of device. It will be really helpful if you provide a link for the apk.
Also, users owning devices of different regions can post their Stock Camera apk by extracting the application using the above mentioned applications so that everyone can use them.
THANKS!

Version 165 working fine on pie roms. On Android Q for now, macro and wide lens don't working.
Apk depend on lot of libs and Xml files, porting from Miui is hard cuz apk using Miui framework so no chance to work on any Aosp without smali debugging... Only easy way is to port from Mi A3 laurel_sprout becouse that apk don't depend on Miui framework and will work on any device running aosp with just few tweeks, but you need to find all libs, xml, and other files for camera and make Magisk module. All needee files are in system/lib-lib64 system/etc vendor/lib_lib64 vendor/etc

Xiaomi Devices already have ANX camera, which is pure port of MIUI stock cam for custom roms.
flash anx cam module from magisk download sections and you will be able to use all the lenses (in pie roms). Aux in Q roms are work in progress.
Link broken. could you plz update?
yo
Just extracting the original miui cam.apk (from/when in miui - and then flashing a custom rom - and then try to install that apk) - will not work - u cant install it (just says failed to install)
I just tried. - I am a total NEWBIE to this custom rom stuff - but yesterday - my 168 hours was finally over so that I could unlock bootloader (on my redmi note8t-willow) flashed Pixel experience and - well: (I found a rom made by darkJoker and installed that - but the camera had no 0.6x wideangle) - so then I tried the official Pixel Experience rom from download.pixelexperience.org/ginkgo - and it worked like a charm! The camera app is EXACTLY like it was in the miui 11. WITH wideangle AND macro (I had reservations because it said "ginkgo" and NOT willow - but wow - it worked and excellently so).

nothing for miui camera,
and just good xml for gcam
Look here: https://t.me/ginkgodev and send /get micam. Flash this via the recovery and apply the rights for this app manually before launching the first time.
hi, I just want to tell my test on ANXCamera_190 with MIUICamera_v4.3.002191
my device is Redmi Note 8 ginkgo rooted with PixelExperience
the official build was okay but its an older version of MIUICamera and with bugs cant save to sd card, so I got a trick to update its camera to MIUICamera_v4.3.002191.
you can follow this steps
-install ANXCamera as usual (i was using ANXCamera_190R).
-download MIUICamera_v4.3.002191 from apkmirror
-rename it to ANXCamera.apk
-use any file manager with root access to replace system/priv-app/ANXCamera/ANXCamera.apk with new downloaded file.
-restart
-enjoy
tested with PixelExperience plus 11 and 12

360°Cam on LineageOS,...

Hello,
I have my ph1 with LineageOS 16 - without gapps. I also have the 360°Cam to use. But the Essential-Cam-app (version 1.0.13.001) can't work with the cam. The fan is only working. No picture from the cam is showing at the display.
Is this normal without gapps? Is it working with gapps or is there a workaround or a app by any xda-developer?
Many Thanks, thk_ms
Gapps have nothing to do with it. You need a proper driver from Essential and probably some supporting libraries to make it work, that's why it only works on stock. I was wondering if the 360 camera works on Android 11 GSI preview (along with the vendor image released by Essential), but it was confirmed on the Reddit forum that it doesn't. And I would definitely not expect it to work on any custom ROM like LOS...

Question How to Pixelify the original android 12 ROM?

Hi guys,
I've used several of the ROMs that are available for the OnePlus 9, and the feature that i miss the most is the ability to spoof the name of the phone to make it work as a pixel. Is there a way to make this happen in the original android 12 rom with root?
The reason for this is the unlimited space in the google photos.
Thanks

There are magisk modules for both tasks your asking about. One for photos and one to change fp
Did you figure it out? The Pixelify Magisk module is what you're looking for if not.
GitHub - Kingsman44/Pixelify: Magisk module to enables pixel exclusive features and ui

I would try it but I'm on a custom ROM and happy with it for now. It works flawlessly on 11.2.10.10 as well as a custom ROM that's using OOS12 firmware.
If you use the Magisk bootloop protector it should be relatively safe to try but I understand now wanting to risk it. Having to restore is a tedious process.
Pixelify isn't supported (yet?). You can however install Lsposed and use the Pixelify GPhotos module for that functionality.

I am using Nameless. It's pretty good but my fast charging broke. It starts off fast and then slows down. Hoping a fix is coming. Also beware that the stock camera hasn't been sorted so you will have to use a GCam mod.

I'd just go to the custom rom, OOS 12 is pretty bad
Can anyone help me? I installed pixelify (via lsposed) module & Universal safety net fix by kdrag0n however since I have rooted, my phone keeps getting hacked. Like last time all my gmail accounts got hacked in the midnight & morning my phone was hot. I thought it was bcz of mod apk so I uninstalled. Tbh my insta & Twitter also got hacked many times & it posted some bitcoin stuff even before root. Does any brother here know what's happening to my device? Would be thankful.

It all depends on the model of the device but in general with GCAM everything works and you have several editable XML profiles.

You can try to install directly the latest MIUI Camera APK ported from latest MIUI. I remember that I found it last summer simply searching on google MIUI Camera APK. It worked on my old Arrow OS 12.1 rom some months ago, except for 64 MPixel mode that crashed the app.
Thanks for the tips and information, I'll definitely try gcam and the ported APK. Now to find which custom, so many to choose from.. so far settled on crDroid A13 but that could change. Thanks again.

I've found it searching 'MIUI Camera APK' or 'MIUI Camera APK Porting' using Google. But I don't know if latest APKs work on A13, I tested it time ago using custom rom A12.1 based... I remember that only 64 MPixel mode crashed the app, video and photo worked
