I have been using my rooted Sony Xperia XZ (F8331) as a WiFi backup device for a while and got it into a boot loop when it starts. I was trying to encrypt it on a Lineage OS ROM which is unofficial and now I see what encryption not supported means!
I had made a bunch of backups of the official Sony stock Oreo software and some unofficial ROMs from XDA using TWRP 3.3.1-0. The stock Oreo software seems to restore OK along with fresh installs of Lineage OS but then it gets stuck for over an hour at the Xperia screen or keeps rebooting till I force it off by holding the power and volume up key (release once it goes past the first vibration and vibrates 3 times with the screen off).
This happened years ago on another Android device from a partition app that partitioned my Galaxy Player system. The solution was to use ADB to get into the system and then fdisk to re-partition. The tread is here:
[Q] Galaxy Player 5 stuck in recovery
Hi I've been reading through the forum here for about 2 years now and got a lot of helpful advice on rooting and flashing my Android devices but this is my first thread. Unfortunately I've messed up my USA Galaxy Player 5.0 and don't know what...

Is such a solution good now and if so is there a partition table available on somebody's Sony Xperia XZ?
Use fdisk -l /dev/blk/mmcblk0 over ADB to see it.

Hello
I have Xperia Pro and I accidently used the boot.img of ICS while my phone had 2.3.4 ginger (used with Flashtool).
so it made it stuck at booting.
I can still use fastboot and flashboot modes but other than that I cant do anything with it.
what can I do to solve it?
(maybe some1 has the boot.img for Xperia Pro? can't find it in google)
The original problem was my phone home button stopped working properly (not returning to home screens and not showing the recent apps etc)
I know it's not for Xperia Pro forum but i cant find it on the site.
I know little about rooting and stuff, I got my phone already rooted from my brother and I managed to "break" it in a day... please help.
Thanks.
Hello together,
I "soft bricked" my Sony Xperia Z C6603 phone by doing the following steps:
1. Unlocked Sony boot loader (according to Sony homepage: unlockbootloader from sonymobile
2. Tried to "root" the phone according to this guid: Sony-Xperia-Z-Unlocken-und-Rooten-Galerie_60930687 at Chip
But (shame on me) I have not noticed that the mentioned root method works only with an old Android version (4.2 I guess).
On my phone Sonys 4.4.4 was installed already.
Now I have a "red pirate" screen, booting again and again (with 10 seconds delay).
It looks like the phone can be used in fastboot and flash mode.
It looks not working to use the reset mode.
Currently I have no cloue what to do and especially where to find the right images to get a working system back.
The overall target would be to have rooted phone but at the moment a working one would be nice.
I already have the Android SDK installed (fastboot seems to have a connection -- sometimes).
The flash tool seems to have quite often a connection.
Thanks for any help!

I've seen that there already is a Q&A thread, but as it is not usable from XDA app I've created this one here.
Sent from my Taoshan using XDA
Xperia dead
My phone died after first reboot. No anwser from the device, dont work fastboot and no charge.
I think my Xperia is dead...
Edit:
I noticed the internal storage was separated and formated in two partitions and one of them was corrupted.
Maybe the motherboard died after that...
After that, I will try to use my phone insurance
PD: im so bad with english.
I suppose development of this rom should start fresh and fix bricking bug first.
this is info I got from ubuntu
Phone is somehow active but this is all I got

And the solution is power button plus vol down or up (depends what you need)
Now I am om stock ROM
