Hello everyone, I am an Italian partially sighted, and then I have big problems of view. I note with regret that Android is very configurable, but with more difficulty.
I have a HTC Desire with root privileges.
I would simply like to change most of the interface, not pleasure, but to use it, for example, I have to change anything that has white background with black background and then put white text, here's a list:
- Change backgrounds with blacks and whites to white text (it is called high-contrast)
- Change buttons with clear background and insert new ones with black background and white text
- A little larger all the characters
- Enlarge icons
- Have all black keyboard with white keys
- Have different software with a black background and white text
How do you see there.
I am a programmer and I also know Java and I have the android SDK installed, the only lacks experience in this system since I got two days ago.
I installed without success, Open Home, in the sense that I did not get good results.
Can you help?
I am willing to install something already done or create something from scratch I just do not know where to start, I know that Android is based on the topics of XML, but I do not know where in the system, such as retrieve and re-enter .
Excuse me for my bad english
Thank you all.
Ale
Ultimate Info Watch for Gear, Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo
I would like to introduce you my app, Ultimate Info Watch for Gear, Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo.
It is simply a watchface with lots of information as the name says. It provides access to lots of information from one screen without accessing other apps.
It consists of a watchface running on Gear and a service app running on the phone side.
The watchface displays both analog and digital clocks with following information:
Date/Time
Phone Battery
Watch Battery
Current Location
Current Temperature from Weather info
Current Weather Status
Wifi Status
Data Connection Status
It also has following additional features:
battery indicator (blue)
phone battery indicator (green)
when clicked on the battery indicator, both watch and phone battery level is shown on bottom for a short time
Wifi on/off switch
Data Connection on/off switch
3 Day Weather forecast popup when you click weather icon
1 Day Calendar events popup when you click the calendar icon
5 clickable areas on the watch screen:
calendar
weather
wifi on/off
data on/off
battery
The app has a transparent background so that you can use any background you select from Gear settings. Prefer light colored backgrounds to see texts easily.
Notes:
Calendar display function is designed as is with the following conditions:
- it displays the appointments/meetings in your visible calendars for next 48 hours.
- Only a max of 5 items is displayed, so if you have more than that in the next 48 hours only first 5 of them will be shown.
- Calendar display is temporary popup style. It dissapears after a short time. (according to the number of displayed items)
Weather forecast display function works with the same manner. It displays only for a short time only, then disappears.
After the restart of Gear, sometimes the app can not communicate with the phone service. This is a known bug. If this occurs, please change watchface to some other and then back to Ultimate Info Watch.
The app is designed to preserve battery. That's why it is only connecting to the phone with a period. If you can't get information from the phone when you start the app, please wait for 2 or 3 minutes.
The app is designed to work with tablet/phone with data connection. If used with a device without data connection, some features are not available.
The app is already available in the Samsung Apps store in Gear Manager for a while. You can reach it by searching its name.
There are free and paid versions of the app. The free version has some limitations:
Weather forecast is limited to 1 day (today)
Calendar information is limited to 1-2 upcoming events for the next few hours
Transparent background has name of the app over it

Hi,
Your app is very rich in features and quite useful watchface. But it needs work on the appearances, many users require professional (formal) watchfaces, i.e. less colorful and standard fonts.

Thanks for your feedback.
If people need standard fonts, I can make a new watchface with standard font.
About being less colorful, my watchfaces are transparent. So if you need black or any tone of gray, you can use that background.
Hello,
could you please provide the apk from the free version?
I think this would be interessting for a lot of people that use the gear 2 with an non Samsung device.
Thank you.

sure; I am attaching it here. But the free version is really a crippled version and I did not develop new features (notifications etc.) on it.
Also, I am not sure how host-side communication works without Samsung Gear Manager. Because normally my gear app communicates with the phone side service through Samsung Accessory protocol.

You are correct, this won't work from phone install. Says not installed correctly from gear manager.

Some suggestions:
1. Allow a short date format of just day date for those who want a cleaner presentation (IE: Thu 13).
I think I can remember what month and year it is without it cluttering up the watchface.
2. Any way to allow users to optionally remove and reposition elements around the face according to their preferences? I like the density of options and information, but some people might not need them all, so allowing people to remove some and move around the elements would be a good customizing capability. For example - sometimes I just want a resizable digital clock and no analog at all so I can clean up the face for the background to show better.
3. Would it be possible in the future to save certain profiles? Sometimes I want a cleaner watchface for certain days and on work days I want the full dashboard of info and toggles available at a glance. If I could preconfigure a couple and have a way to quick select them, that would be cool.
Anyway, good work and thanks for continuing to support our platform. I'm happy that there are still some devs working on this and haven't all abandoned this for Android Wear.

Tried the free version - the information is nearly invisible...
Hi,
I like the idea of your watch face. However, since I use a dark wallpaper - and since your watchface is using that wallpaper as a background; most of the text etc in the watchface becomes invisible.
So: would it be possible to have a background provided by you - to ensure that the colors etc. you use are visible?
Thank you
Is it possible to put the clock in 24 hour mode ? I only have am/pm mode.
Does this work with Gearfaces from Gearfaces.com?
24 hour format would be great to have
Hello everyone!
I love my Mate 8 but one thing that bugs me is the notification display on the lockscreen: I can only see three notifications at a time. The phone displays them in a sort of scrollable box of 3 rows. I would like to know if it was possible to expand that box to take up a good part of the screen, as I feel I'm just losing free space there. Or does it have to do with the theme I applied? (I use the gold magazine theme).
Thanks in advance for your help!

If you can't resolve this, you can always try Nils in the play store.

Hi. There were two main gripes in EMUI 4.1 that ended in selling mine P9. Now I'm wondering about getting Honor 8, but I need two answers from people that are testing Nougat for H8:
1. Did the notification icons become interactive like in stock android? For example, app like Google Now in stock android will display appropriate icon in connection to the notification, it can be a cloud for a weather notification, but it will look different for traffic notification. The P9 just displayed plain G icon in notifications bar. Another example could be Hydro Coach - in nearly every other smartphone it would display icon with actual water consumption in notifications bar, but in P9 it again displayed just plain app icon. How does it work in Nougat Beta for H8?
2. Can you expand notifications bar on lockscreen? Can you expand individual notifications on lockscreen in Nougat?
Thanks! Overall the H8 looks awesome, but I need this features from stock android to fully work. Other than that I don't mind EMUI looking very different, in some cases it has some neat additions.
Before updating to Android 11, I saw more styles in the notifications and edge lighting settings
But now there are only a few simple styles and it only runs on the pop-up message and does not show the side edges do not show any effect.
The Edge Lighting+ (NiceLock) program does not run either
Is there a way to increase the styles?

it's not supported by android. 11
so can we create a app that will work on 11 to do what we want. just because they stop or screw up the original app or feature that doesn't mean that we can't figure another way to do it.
Yes edgelighting+ was successfully runs in android 10 but after upgrading to android 11 with one ui 3.0 it is not working anymore ! So is there any way to get that feature? Also any app ?
can we edit edgelighting+ and add support android 12? it seems that samsung moved this styles for flagships and removed from phones like A51.
or even is it possible to port edgelighting from S21 to A51? Because the flagships have more styles And before Android 11 we had these styles. So styles are definitely supported, it's just how to add them !
