I have an old Xiaomi Mi Max 1 (2016) that is on MIUI 7 and I want to update it to MIUI 8. I used to see OTA update notifications but they suddenly stopped. The update app says no updates available and that I'm on the latest version which isn't correct. This phone goes to MIUI 10.
Does Xiaomi pull availability of MIUI updates after a certain amount of time, years for example? Do they shut down the servers pushing the update? Surely they would be available forever no?
I have tried clearing the data and cache of the update app, rebooting etc, no change. Has anyone had this happen and how do I solve this?
Thanks
UPGRADING can't be done via OTA.
What you want to do is to UPGRADE your phone, not updating: updating is patching existing OS, read eliminating given bugs etc.pp
It is very likely that this phone model, Mi Max 1(2016), is too old, and Xiaomi no longer provides an upgrading push service.

Hello xda,
i'm going straight to the problem, i used to have my Huawei GR3 rooted but i decided that i wanted to receive official updates so i could try a specific app that starts with P and ends in GO, thing is, after i flashed my phone with the stock rom from the huawei official website my phone doesn't say it can't receive updates because the phone was modified anymore but won't receive them either, i'm stuck on TAG-L21C328B126, tried using the huawei firmware search app to download the most recent version of the TAG-L21C328 but when i try to update my phone with the most recent updates, the phone always gets a error saying that the package can't find the fingerprints and asks for L21C328B127 or L21C328B128.
Is there a way i can fix this ?
Error mentioned above:
"Package expects build fingerprint of huawei/tag-l21/hwtag-l6753:5.1/huaweitag1/c328b127:user/release-keys or huawei/tag-l21/hwtag-l6753:5.1/huaweitag-l21/c328b128:user/release-keys; this device has huawei/tag-l21/hwtag-l6753:5.1/huaweitag-l21/c328b126:"
PS: Is there a way to update the stock rom update.zip with the small ota updates manually on your computer ? i contacted huawei help center on my country, all they told me was that TAG-L21C440B139 is the last ota for my phone, and since i can't update via android, i was thinking if i could grab the stock rom and just update it with all the otas till it reach TAG-L21C440B139 on my computer.
Best Regards
RD
So, I've got the OTA notification for v11.0.4.0, but have been holding off updating, because I know it's still android 9, and I can't be bothered to sort out the mess it will cause for magisk if I update, so have been waiting untill the android 10 version of miui is available, but, I've not got an update notification for that yet. Is v11.0.4.0 a prerequisite for v11.0.3.0?
I'm considering just flashing the global build outside of the official update methods, but that will probably cause me more issues than its worth.
I believe the only ways to update to Android 10, is to flash the other update in between via OTA or, fastboot the Android 10 files.

I was wondering then when would Android 12 update come for Moto g5S plus. It's been quite some time for the Android 12 release data and a port hasn't came yet. The thing is that it's predecessor also got the update but it didn't.
So any news ?

It may never get the update, not all devices get updates. Also, OTA updates are controlled by your carrier. Let's say that an Android 12 update was released for the Moto G5S, this does not mean that your carrier will automatically offer the update to your device via OTA. Some devices have updates available but the carrier doesn't offer it via OTA, in this case, one must manually search for and download the update from the internet and then manually flash the update onto the device using a PC and the proper flashing software.
Hi all,
I have a weird issue - I have updated my OnePlus 9 EU last year over Oxygen Updater, but managed to install India-only update on EU phone and now in settings it shows 2113_11_C.60.
After scouring internet I found that C.60 was India only update.
Now, I haven't received a single auto update since May 2022.
I have tried downloading incrimental updates to C.62 both for 2113 and 2111, but neither local upgrade nor special oneplus app was not able to update.
Also tried full install of C.62, no success.
Even tried full upgrade to latest EU build LE2113_11_F.75 - same result..
The local upgrade through settings constantly shows "verification failed" no matter what file I choose.
OP's System Update app would fail after showing system updating for a minute, with 0% progress.
As I understand, I somehow managed to install Indian version of incrimental update on EU phone, but now I am stuck on it.
What are other reinstall options on OnePlus 9?
Can I somehow force install if I connect over PC?
Many thanks for the help!

Find the one compatible for your device whatever stock would be and run the msm recovery tool. This will get you back where you need to be to be able to update to latest software.
Otherwise you can try editing the file payload_properties.txt inside the update zip and changing oplus_update_engine_verify_disable to 1. This way your phone should skip the verification process entirely. Keep in mind that this could still result into bricking your phone because of this unintended update path but since the alternative would be using MSM tool why not trying anyway.
