U11 RUU flash fail - HTC U11 Questions & Answers

Hello everyone,
My U11 was with a custom ROM.
I wanted to flash it back with an official ROM (for work), and then have 2 distinct phone for work and private.
However, after flashing back the official ROM, now it boots, saying the boot loader is unblock (can even pause the boot), then a black screen, then restarts...
And it loops like this, forever and ever and ever...
(i did the flashing by putting the zip file named "2PZCIMG.zip" on an SD card).
TWRP has disappeared. If i try to get there, i have the icon of a phone, with a read warning sign on it.
After pressing buttons power + vol up, I tried the "reset factory" there.
It did last not even 5 sec (with a successful message).
When i go to boot loader, fastboot devices gives me "???????????" and restarts the phone.
Please don't tell me i bricked it
Any help please ? :x
I'll get you a beer or 2.

Anyone, please ?
Let me ask my question differently.
Are these the symptoms of my phone being bricked ? :x

STAR N9770 - 5.08 inch MTK6577

Hi, I have just bought the STAR N9770 - 5.08 inch MTK6577 . I am relativly pleased with it but love to install cwm and root, but to be honest I'm a little confused as to what files I need.
I am not new to flasing rom/cwm/rooting but have always had HTC phones.
Can someone please help me with what files I need and where to get them and how to do it, I realise this is a lot to ask but I don't want to screw it up.
This is my phone, it running jb 4.1, this was how it came.

Root help
---
Do you have a recovery there? Maybe try making a backup and flashing a root binary from a different device (galaxy for instance). I heard it sometimes works and if not you have a backup.
BTW - How is this device? Seems solid?

CWM RECOVERY and ROOT!
---
I'm getting a 'Download Warning' on my PC
It says:
Not ALL images are correctly loaded, which may cause boot up issue!
Do you still want to go on downloading anyway?
Any ideas what to do from here?
---
Thanks for the offer. I've sent the phone back
3G didn't work at all. I'll wait until the next one arrives and start the process again.

CWM Recovery & Root
I have successfully flashed a CWM recovery and root script on this phone. Everything works. Here's how its done:
Here is the "About" under settings on the phone that i have done this on:
First Download This:
http://www.mediafire.com/?eq9b28ua89wh8d1
This RAR Archive contains everything needed.
MAKE SURE YOUR PHONE IS ON JELLYBEAN. [4.1]
1: Installing CWM Recovery
Extract the downloaded zip and run the flash tool. (Flash_tool.exe)
In the flash tool, click where it says "scatter-loading", and browse for "MT6577_Android_scatter_emmc.txt" [It is in the: \CWM_recovery_4.1\recovery folder that was included in the downloaded archive]
Now, before flashing, MAKE SURE "RECOVERY" is the only thing ticked in the list of things to flash.
(Mine had two things ticked by default, just make sure the only thing that is ticked is the recovery.)
When the scatter file is loaded and only recovery is ticked, make sure your phone is off and the battery is out. Also make sure it is unplugged from the computer.
Now in the flash tool, click the download button at the top.
*Note: If you get: "Not ALL images are correctly loaded, which may cause boot up issue!
Do you still want to go on downloading anyway?", Just click "Yes"
Plug in your phone with the battery out and wait for it to finish flashing. If the flash tool doesnt detect the phone, it means the drivers probably aren't installed. install the drivers [included in download (MT6575_USB_VCOM_drivers)] and wait for it to finish flashing
When it flashes, you will get a popup window with a circle, showing that it has completed. you can now unplug your phone.
CWM recovery is now installed on the phone. Time to root!
2: Rooting VIA CWM Recovery
Copy the "CWM-SuperSU-v0.93_tirannozaurus.zip" to your phone's SD card.
Boot the phone into recovery. [hold volume+ and power while the phone is off]
Choose "Install zip from sd card" [using volume and power buttons] and navigate to "CWM-SuperSU-v0.93_tirannozaurus.zip"
Flash it, and then reboot the phone. You should now have root:
If you follow all of this properly in order, this should work! i am not responsible for anyone bricking their phone. Doing this is all on you.
*NOTE*
If your play store is not working [If it says there is no connection], Goto your phone's settings and set your date and time. This fixed it for me.
Also, credit to the original authors of the files. I have simply taken the required files and archived them for your convenience.

[TUTORIAL][UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER][STOCK] Apply root-level mods without root

Hi, I'm not fairly new to this forum but I silent read from a long time ago and now I decided to share something I found.
Let's say you're tired with rooting and xposed as some apps refuses to run upon detection of either or both of those, and custom ROMs out there didn't float your boat, you decided to return to the stock. No recoveries, just a plain stock. But you need that SystemUI with netmeter, or you're too lazy to re-log in 6 different Twitter accounts onto the Twitter app you've previously backed up using TitaniumBackup or similar.
Without any words let me start:
What you need:
Obviously an unlocked bootloader since we will flash a recovery, and locked ones can't do so.
Any custom recovery, either CWM or TWRP that's fine. Don't worry about its compatibility with the stock, as it'll be wiped again (if you want)
Flashtool, it already includes fastboot for flashing stuffs, otherwise why is this called Flashtool?
Your current FTF file
OPTIONAL : AromaFM if your mods isn't a flashable zip
For TWRP you can also use its built-in file manager
Steps:
Download and set up Flashtool
After installation there will be some folders like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Install the drivers located in the Drivers folder, place your current firmware's FTF file to the firmwares folder, and for convenience, place your recovery in the x10flasher_lib folder, and rename it to something short and easy, like rec.img or similar.
Put your mods in the phone's storage/sdcard (and also your aromafm if you choose to use it).
Turn off your phone.
Open up Command Prompt (or console window of your choice, if you're not on Windows), and navigate to the flashtool/x10flasher_lib folder.
Run this on your console:
Code:
fastboot flash boot rec.img
change rec.img to your recovery's filename.
Plug in your phone with a USB cable while holding volume + button.
When done, plug it out and boot to your recovery by powering it on and pressing volume - button when the illumination bar lights up (depends on your recovery).
Apply your mods (flash mods, replace system files, remove bloatware etc.).
You may skip steps below if you change your mind to having a (compatible) custom recovery
When done turn off your phone again.
Open up your Flashtool, if asked for admin rights just say yes.
Click the bolt icon above the window, leave the Flashmode selected, and click OK
find your firmware, select it but don't flash it yet. Uncheck/check these options, you don't want to wipe your data, right?
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Now press the flash button, located on the bottom-right of the window. When a window pops out (instructions to connect your phone while holding the back button), connect your phone with the Volume - pressed.
Wait the flash to finish, and unplug your phone.
Now you have your mods back and your app datas restored 'without root'~!
NOTE: I've done this on my Xperia E, for other phones I can't yet verify if this method works, so if anyone is interested to try this out go ahead and don't forget to report it back to me whether it's worked or not~

My problem solved please admin close this thread
Please!! tell my how you did it. I have the same problem. Greatly appreciated.
I am just bothered by the same problem for days.
did some research in the meantime...it seems only a few other HAM7 owners ended up like we did.
Unfortunately none of them was able to get the phone back to life, even though it's "just" a soft brick.
bro my problem solved after am leave my phone on charger for 3 hours , before always failed but after recharge my phone for 3 hourse its working and make update with no errors
solved!!
Finally I managed to get the device back to life
Here's what I did:
1. get the latest ROM package for your device - this MUST be the ROM you had installed prior to the crash
2. extract the package with Huawei Update extractor
3. flash via fastboot a) the boot.img and b) the recovery.img (take those file from the extracted folder)
4. get a SD Card and put the update.app file into the dload folder in root directory (you have to create dload folder first)
5. put the SD Card into the device and force update via 3-button method (press Vol +, Vol - and Power at the same time)
6. Update should complete now (if you stuck with 90%, try a different ROM - for me it only worked with exactly the same package I've installed prior to the crash)
- That should be it....Can't tell you how happy I am, after 2 weeks I got my beloved Mate7 back.

Force update do not boot via 3 button method and go directly into rescue mode(FUNC_LOAD_IOM3). Is it possible to get my HAM7 life back?

You're sure you have the correct update.app in the dlaod folder of your sd-card? As I wrote before, for me it only worked when I had the exact same update.app (in my case it was the B324 Version).
But see the steps I've done before, I mean I flashed boot and recovery img - which I've extracted from the update package.
Honestly, I'm not 100% sure what finally solved my problem - I just tried to recall the steps I made.

Modify your CUSTOM RECOVERY! (Full Tutorial) TeamWin Recovery

Welcome root users!
Today we are going to do something really cool!
Now every root user should know what a custom recovery is. It's basically a modified recovery with more functions than a stock recovery. Every root user should have one.
Please note that this tutorial is ONLY for users that run TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project).
I do not know if this method will work for other recoveries like Philz Touch! If you are going to attempt this on a recovery like Philz Touch, be VERY CAREFUL and ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS make a backup of your recovery!!!!!!!!
Custom recoveries are cool and all, but wouldn't it be awesome if you could actually MODIFY your own recovery? Your question would be simple as this: "Is is possible?".
Well of course it is! Recoveries are in .img format. If we were to extract the img, we would get a ramdisk folder. Inside would be your root folders along with your TWRP folder!
For this part of the tutorial, we are going to modify the text on the buttons at the main screen in TWRP (ex. Install, Backup, Restore, Wipe, etc.). Let's say I wanted to change the word "Install" on the Install button to "Flash" instead. I could easily do this with a computer! I will show you how to do this step-by-step.
Requirements:
Windows PC
Android Image Kitchen
Your recovery img
Obviously your custom recovery so you can flash it.
1: Grab the custom recovery you flashed and put it to your Desktop. If you can't find your custom recovery that you downloaded before, download it again from the internet.
2: Download Android Image Kitchen from the internet and extract it to your Desktop. You should get a folder called "Android Image Kitchen".
3. Inside that folder you will have some files: cleanup.bat, repackimg.bat, and unpackimg.bat along with another folder called "android_win_tools".
4. Put your recovery img inside along along with those files.
5. Now we are going to extract your recovery! To do this, simply drag your recovery.img over onto the unpackimg.bat and a cmd windows will pop up, extracting your recovery.
6. When it's done, two folders will appear called "ramdisk" and "split_img". IGNORE THE split_img FOLDER! YOU DO NOT NEED TO TOUCH THAT EVER!
7. Navigate inside the ramdisk folder until you find a folder called "twres". This is your TWRP
8. Inside will be some files in XML format and 3 folders. Navigate to the folder that says "Languages".
9. Once inside, find "en.xml" and open it with a text editor.
10. Scroll down until you find this line of text:
"name="install_btn">Install</string>
11. To change the word "Install" to "Flash", replace "Install" that is between string and install_btw to "Flash".
12. That's it! Your done! Now we have to repack the ramdisk. To do so, go back to the "Android Image Kitchen* and click on "repackimg.bat".
13. If done correctly, a cmd window will appear and repack your ramdisk. You will be left with a file called "image-new.img". Transfer that file to your phones internal storage.
14. Once it's on your phone, boot into your custom recovery and flash it! MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP just in case anything goes wrong!!
15. You have successfully modified your custom recovery!!
NOTE that for some newer Android devices, you will probably get a message in red at the boot screen "Recovery is not SEandroid enforcing". As long as your device still boots into your modified recovery, ignore that warning.
Note that this tutorial was only for users who are new to rooting and customizing. Android developers would probably know already how to do this. This is only for fun. You should always be careful when modifying your system files.
That was only a text modification. You could have also edited the images if you wanted to
I don't know everything about Android. I'm still learning. I was proud that I was able to modify my own recovery. Please leave any comments you have
Im dragging recovery.img to unpackimg.bat and gives error
