Hey there yes as the title says i am seeing a very tint green dot(stuck pixel maybe) on my screen. But the thing is it's only shows when the fingerprint icon is displayed (AOD/lockscreen) as soon as I unlock the phone its working fine. i checked with app or any dark background it's not there, only shows when fingerprint icon shows up . Could it be a software glitch?

Only way to know is to fully format your phone with Odin since it replaces your entire software.

Thank you for the reply. I don't wanna try flashing it's a new device so
That's weird. The color and appearance looks like the indicator when microphone or camera is on at the upper right corner of the display. Seems to be a software issue. Can you tell us what firmware is installed and is your phone rooted eg ?
It's the latest August patch. No my phone is not rooted. It's only shows when fingerprint is enable or the fingerprint icon is showing. As soon as I unlock the phone it dissappears.
What model is your phone sm-a536 N,B,0,U1... and the firmware version ? You can find these under settings-->phone info-->software info
If there is a connection to the fingerprint scanner or symbol you can try to patch it under: settings-->biometric data security-->more biometric settings-->patch
Further you may deactivate the fingerprint indicator on aod under settings-->biometric data security-->fingerprints-->show symbol when screen is off to see if the green spot disappears on aod
This should help to figure it out.

Model number is SM-A536E/DS
Yes the green dot disappear if i disable the fingerprint sensor.
Greendot always shows when ever fingerprint icon is displayed no matter where AOD/ or in APP
Went to the service centre today for a replacement letter but they wouldn't provide it saying it so tiny and small issue wasted my time there.
Did you patch the fingerprint software ?
Since the green dot only appears when fingerprint icon is showing or sensor is active it must be a software issue. Definitely not a dead or stuck pixel, normally they are dark or white all the time so your display should be good.
You can go to settings--> software-update to check if there is a newer version for you available and provide the installed firmware like already mentioned. If there is no working patch for the fingerprint software and no new update for your device you have to wait for the next firmware update since you already got the newest august security patch.

Updated yesterday and are happy with the Trusted Faces function from Android Oreo. My Pixel 2 on Android P won't work 90% of the time. The Faces icon on lockscreen just flashes and turns into the finger print icon. Anyone else with the same problem?

Same as you .... So annoying.. definitely a bug, I tried to remove smart lock and reset the phone, but didn't help
Did anyone find a solution? September update, the issue isn't Ffixed yet
Already purchased autoinput so dont need to swipe up to unlock, but still not solved yet
Trusted facess
No trusted face option under smart lock
My Pixel 3's proximity sensor reads 0cm after android 10 update(using Sensors Multitool), and double tap to wake and lift to wake not working.
I've search on the internet and I read the post of "FIXED - Android 10 - Sensors Bug". and also tried using proximity sensor reset or calibrate app, but all seem not working.
In my case, all other sensors works perfectly(Active Edge,Ambient Light Sensor, Auto-brightness, Accelerometer, Auto-rotation), but proximity sensor have reading of 0cm all the time. Which make the screen black when having a phone call. And double tap/lift to wake is not working(although my accelerometer is working according to sensors multitool).
I don't have screen protector, and this problem happened just after i first updated it to android 10. so i think it might be just a software problem.
I had the october update already, but it is not fixed.
And this is a phone that never oem unlocked or rooted, no trwp installed ever, so it might be a different problem rather than that FIXED one.
I live in a country that I could not send the phone back for repairing or replacement, and i have to use adb sideload to install every ota
(and most of time when I switch my camera to frontfacing camera, it will buzz and vibrate, but when i switch back to rare and back to front, it can be fixed. this is another small issue, but it happened before this update already, maybe i just need to mention it)
Any idea what might cause this and how can I fix them?
Thanks.

i read this already and my issue is not the same one as mentioned...
in that issue, all sensors are dead, but not in my case.
my device is never unlocked or rooted, no twrp installed, so maybe nothing has right to write the persist?
and if it is the same one, it should be fixed in october patch, but mine is not FIXED at all.

I factory reset my device yesterday and it fixed a lot of errors I was getting. Have you tried factory reset?
Be sure the phone has backed up to the google drive
So, what the title says, I just downloaded it from xpirifirm and Installed it using flashtool, am hoping to fix the problem with voice messages from WhatsApp and messenger as well (basically 1 in 10 voice messages I send go silent in the middle of the recording), there is not a changelog from Sony but they never give any so I hope this could be more than just a security patch, I want to know if any of you have installed it and if you have noticed any fix, thanks, If I find out something I will tell you. Thanks for reading.
Well, sadly I couldn't fix the issue with the voice notes, but I disabled the "ok Google" feature from the Google assistant and I haven't had any problem with voicenotes anymore, let's see if it stays like that.
It didnt solved the problem, I plan to go back to android 9
Does not feel any fix, but so frustrating 'couse battery capability is much much worse...
I think the fingerprint at least is faster and more reliable.

I fixed the voice messages disabling the feedback tactile of 3 under screen buttons
Did the upgrade change your GPS functionality? Since the day I updated, my phone started drifting. I have 25 kilometers displacement on a day staying permanently at my home office. Compared to 0.5 kilometers before the update.
I didn't understand how you fixed the voice messages, can you be more specific?
Hey guys, it's July 9th and the last firmware released for xperia xz2 is 52.1.A.2.1, will Sony stop supporting this device or what? Btw my cellphone has now a ghost touch.

Same for me! Just about a week or so, I am annoyed by the quick settings bar being occasionally pulled from top while typing on the keyboard or working in apps. With the "Show taps" option turned on from the developer settings, I can clearly see that the device sometimes detects an extra tap (draws the corresponding circle) at the very top of the screen right after I tap somewhere else. This activates the system bar and switches the focus from the app. This only happened before with the screen very dirty or wet (i.e. in the rain). However, this time cleaning it and rebooting the system didn't help. My initial idea was that I could have damaged the screen sensors or other hardware somehow. But this might be instead a planned action to support the upcoming models' sales Interestingly, there was no software update accompanying the behaviour change — seems like there are some remotely controlled sensor options their engineers could be playing around.

Thanks for sharing your experience, well I still have the ghost touch but now occurs more often and I have had another issue since some months ago ad well and tje thing is that sometimes the proximity sensor "detects" it's being covered and makes the screen flash several times during a call or hearing voice notes in whatsap, sometimes the failure is as bad that I have to restart the phone, I don't know what could be causing this problem but I have to say that I have dropped some water in my cellphone in the past two or three times, and I don't know, maybe some of this water came into the phone through the earpiece and messed with the upper part of the screen and the other sensor up there, my phone os almost a year old now, Do you guys think it might mot be water resistant anymore? And btw, have you dropped water in the phone as well? Thanks for reading.
I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S which has the following behaviour: it works normally until the moment it goes under the sun, then (apparently only) the backlight of the screen is turned off and never turns on again until I restart the smartphone, where it works normally until the very moment it "detects" a bright light like under the sun, then the screen goes black. When this happens, sometimes you can still see the shape of what was on screen, but most times it only goes totally black.
When the screen is black, the telephone keeps working normally (music keeps being played, receives calls, vibration responses keep working, etc...(confirmed it using scrcpy and all is working normally)), only that the backlight is turned off and it keeps totally black. During the night, i.e. with artificial light, the telephone works normally (I was able to replicate the error using a strong flashlight above the telephone, the screen also went black the very moment I turned it on).
What I tried to resolve: restarted many times, disabled every auto brightness (also one that I think is a Xiaomi MIUI only, sunlight detector, something like this) settings that are in the configuration menu, restarted using vol up + power button. Factory reseted the smartphone. Disabled pocket mode before and after factory reset.
Any idea how to proceed? What is killing me is that it seem to be a software issue, like, why the screen don't turn on back after a while, but every time you restart it, or why the phone works all night long (i.e. there no strong light on it)? How to capture the telephone log (logcat perhaps?) and be sure of what is the exact event that is disabling screen? Maybe I can manipulate it to prevent from happening, or to make screen goes back to normal after a while, as I work as a software developer.

Check your display settings, make sure you don't have adaptive brightness or any kind of filters turned on.
If it is a software issue, flashing the stock firmware should correct the issue.

Every auto, or adaptive, brightness is disabled, also, pocket mode, etc...
I couldn't find any official way to do this (flash stock), only downloading firmware from "alternative" sites. Can you point how to to do this the officially way, please?

It doesn't have to be downloaded from an "official" site, you just need to make sure that the firmware that you download is for your specific model number.
Do a Google search for:
"Return to stock (your model number)"
That should find links to firmware, tools and instructions, if any exist for your device.

No, you aren't understanding, I'm saying that flashing the stock firmware will correct your issues if the issues are caused by your current software being corrupted. I didn't say anything about checking to see if your device is already has the.correct firmware installed or installing it if it didn't.

There weren't any updates last week, that was when the problem began to happen. Anyway, after I checked the firmware, as I said above, I flashed it to MIUI 13, which I found as officially supported in global version of the telephone, i.e. just selected the zip file inside MIUI menu (settings -> about phone -> miui version).
The problem persists. What is very strange is that it works normally every time the telephone is restarted until the moment the screen turn the backlight off. Which sensor (or more broadly, system mechanism) is responsible to turn off the screen? Any idea of how to capture it in logs ?

You might have an issue with the proximity sensor or photo sensor.
One more information to add, I use scrcpy to mirror my screen on my computer, and it keep working normally, only that is totally black.
About the sensors you mentioned, any idea how to capture some log about it?

There are sensor calibration apps in the PlayStore. I don't know which is best or how effective any of them are.
Xiaomi 13 Chinese rom with latest update
Seems to be a bug since the last update whereby when you unlock with the fingerprint the fingerprint icon seems to remain on the screen (after device is unlocked to homescreen) or whatever else you were previously on.
Once you tap it again it then disappears.
*Not happening everytime but has happened enough for me to notice and think that's odd
