Good Day everyone!,
I was a long time sticking to OOS 10 but I recently decided to upgrade.. Overall it was mostly worth it but one thing does significantly annoy me.
Sometimes when I use Spotify, the notification suddenly disappears on lockscreen or if I jump to the next song, the cover from previous song is still shown altough the next song already plays..
And on an music player that happens aswell that sometimes I play the next song but the previous one is shown.. It either stays like that until I skip manually (altough sometimes that happens for a few songs on the local music player) or if If I restart the song it comes back (not always).
Does somebody have the same issues? Any ideas how to solve it? I wonder if a clean install would solve that issue but if there is another way it would be more handy!
Many thanks!

i have an issue with any music i play on my phone. randomly the song will cut to another song, but the display still shows the original info. i have had this problem with my p4000 and now with my omnia. i first though it was a problem with pockplayer, but i found after a hard reset the issue still exist with the other media players on my phone. i now think it is an issue with something in my music folder what came directly from my itunes library. I really have no clue why my music keeps jumping from song to a random song for a few seconds, than back to the proper song, but it is REALLY annoying and i was hoping someone here may be able to help.
Hi all,
Recently updated to official ICS. I like to listen to music on my HTC, and I found a major glitch. Whenever you are playing music (with the stock player), and there is another system sound (ie SMS notification), the entire media volume of the phone dies.
For example, I am listening to music and I receive a SMS. I hear the SMS and the music stops playing. I check the music app and the slider is still moving but there is no sound. After that point there is NO media volume at all! I start a game. No sound. I start a video. No sound. Youtube. No sound. Only way to fix this is restart the phone.
If I'm listening to music and I wanna play a game. I start the game and the game has its own sound. The music stops playing and the game sounds are also now gone. Only way to get any sound back is to restart.
Basically whats happening is if there ANY other non-music sound, it ends up killing the phone's Media volume. Only way to fix is restart.
Anyone else have this problem?
Running stock ICS 4.0.3 Vodafone Australia ROM.
Sounds like a fluke - cause this doesn't really happen to anyone else. Since you're stock, the way to fix most issues is to wipe your data and start from scratch. Most people who have random issues like this do that and it clears up.
Not its not a fluke. I can reproduce it even after a factory reset. It only happens with stock player not another player I downloaded from Play.
Maybe its a problem with the Vodafone ROM.

If you can reproduce the issue with a factory reset then perhaps you could try flashing your RUU and see if the issue persists. I do know that what you're describing is NOT a wide spread problem, and that means it's either isolated to your device or to VODA's build...

I meant fluke as in only happening to you, not only happening once.
Try Grogg's advice. Hell, flash his rom, music player works great in it.
Similar issue here
I'd just like to say I have a similar issue with mine. If i am listening to music and receive an SMS or email notification then the music volume increases to match that of the notification. Pressing either volume up or down then changes it one step from the original volume.
I also have another issue with the default music player. If I am listening to music at work, press pause then remove the headphones (when leaving my desk for a short while) after plugging headphones back in when I press play the sound quality is often seriously distorted. Pressing pause then play again always seems to sort this out...
I've noticed 3 or 4 little bugs with the latest (UK) release on my phone, I keep expecting another update to sort them out but so far nothing...

I have got the same problem. HTC Sensation, stock ICS 4.0.3 (3.33.401.53). Have you found the solution ?
Hiya, sorry possibly Noob question. I am running cleanRom 5 and am having the same issues below that were outlined in the synergyrom thread.
Namely, when i get to the second song in a playlist, it stops and my only remedy is to force stop the music player. I do notice that it seems to keep playing the song after the song is over. That is, if I have a 3:30 long song, the player will show that it is playing 4 minutes or 5 minutes or however long I let it go, and thus is not skipping to the next song.
And this morning it started playing from the phone speaker after a couple of songs going through earphone (actually speakers through the earphone jack)
I know I did not have these issues on Synergy ICS build.
And I would post is the dev thread but A: it seems to occur on both ROMS on JB and B: Too much of Noob to be allowed to post there!
Edited to say this stock music player issue...

Still with both, I'm also experiencing some bugs with the music player. Freezes every now and then and FC's. Weirdest thing is sometimes I'm listening to music with headphones and when it changes to the next song it will start playing out the phone speakers like it forgot headphones were plugged in. Pause and play and it recognizes the headphones again. I also get random dropouts every now and then during playback with the screen off.
Does this with play music and apollo.
I'm also having issues with Google Music player - it will play a couple of songs and then just stop. I can exit out of the application and try to restart it but it never plays again until I either reboot the phone or kill the Google Music process and restart it.
I have not, however, had any issues with the music playing out of the speakers when the headset is plugged in.
Device: Nexus 5 on 4.4.2 stock
Problem: When listening to Music on Google Play Music Songs often suddenly play muted. Starting the app and listening the music always works fine, the problem occurs at various intervalls after starting to listen. This always happens at the beginning of a new song. The app is showing correctly that the music is playing but I can't hear any music. Skipping to the next track or restarting the Song "fixes" the Problem. Happens during Streaming as well as Songs stored on my Device. Factory reset didnt fix the Problem. Sometimes this happens two Songs in a row, sometimes like 1 out of 10 Songs. Very annoying though if you're riding your bike or if you want to listen to music with friends if you have to skip songs all the time to avoid random akward silence. Didn't have this problem on my old SGS3.
I have this problem occasionally too. Doesn't seem to be any pattern to it but it does happen at the beginning of the next song. Just sits there with dead air until I skip to the next one. Very annoying.

I would sometimes have this problem if I was going from a song that is on my device to a song that isn't on my device that was in the cloud. I would skip to the next song and then back and it would work fine, is this similarly what you are experiencing? I do not have a solution just sharing your pain.

nope for me it's all with songs that are on my device... hope someone chimes in with a solution, the only thing I can think of is some of my media files might be in a different format (mp3, mp4, etc) but my understanding was all formats were compatible...

If what you describe is the actual cause of the glitch, you did find a workaround: Make sure each playlist is comprised of either "on device" music or "in the cloud" music, but not both.

Did you ever resolve this, I'm having the same issue on a galaxy note 3, with music stored on my device, every time it moves the next track the song is muted, hitting stop and then play fixes things. Very frustrating.
did you fix it
Having this problem cm11 htc one m8 pls halp
Greetings all!
I'm having a strange phenomenon when listening to music on my Pixel from Google Play Music (untested in other apps as I have all-access)... my music will randomly stop/pause. The app and persistent notification show the icon as if it's still playing (not paused or stopped) but there is no sound, seconds do not advance, never gets to the next song, etc. It's worth noting perhaps that this seems to happen towards the end of a song, for instance when there's maybe 20-30 seconds of the song left. I feel like it has something to do with whenever it might start to preload or buffer the next song in queue??
After I give the app a fresh restart it seems to work fine for a while.. anywhere from 15 minutes to hours. There seems to be no pattern that I can tell. The only other thing I'm thinking is that maybe an app I'm using is for some reason causing a glitch but I really only use like Facebook, Gmail, texting, calling, and a time clock app. I've never had problems until I got the pixel so it definitely seems somewhat device-specific.
It does this when listening to music thru BT or with headphones plugged in.
The quickest way I can fix this is to manually press Pause in Play Music persistent notification, and then swipe it away, press the Square and Clear All. With headphones I can just re-open Play Music and press play.. on BT I have to cycle BT off/on (I think, I actually don't think I've ever tried it without cycling BT), then re-open Play Music... Sometimes it will automatically continue where it left off when I re-open the app, other times I have to manually press play again. You can imagine this being quite annoying and potentially dangerous as it usually happens when I'm using BT in my car while driving.
I've tried clearing the cache, clearing data, and even a full wipe. I'm using Pure Nexus ROM currently, but had the same problem when trying Resurrection Remix. I have literally never used the stock OS, I rooted it the day I got it and installed unofficial Lineage... I don't recall having this problem in LOS but I only used it for a few days before trying PN, RR, and then back to PN.
Does anyone else have this problem?
Or does anyone have some potential ideas to fix the problem?
Mine does the same thing the fix for me is not use Google play music. Play music has done this no matter what ROM I was on
