It is illegal to seek to unlock phones that are are yet to be paid off. If already paid off, please contact the carrier to unlock.

At&T Won't UN-LOCK

I have moved on to a Samsung Note 2 and requested that they would supply me with the unlock code. Here is there respone;
Thank you for contacting AT&T about your wireless service. I will be more than happy to assist you with your unlock request today.
I was able to input the IMEI number into our unlock system and unfortunately this device is not eligible to be unlocked. AT&T is the exclusive carrier of the device and under the existing exclusivity agreement we are unable to provide the device unlock code. In addition, some devices for which AT&T Mobility has exclusive marketing rights are permanently excluded from unlocking obligation.
So is this B.S.?

[Completed] Carrier Unlock Verizon relocking OTA

I have a few unlocked Samsung devices (S5, Note4, STab) that I have on Verizon. I know they are unlocked as i am able to usse a Tmobile sim in them. I normally would honor my debt and pay my account off but i have been in a billing dispute with Verizon for 6 months in which I am owed a credit they refuse to acknowledge, why im leaving their over priced ass. So, My question is..... 2 of these devies are paid off, but the S5 is not, I am being told that if I have an outstanding bill they will relock it OTA if bill remains unpaid. Is this true? Is there a way to unlock it if they do relock the device?
Mod Edit
This is a matter between you and your carrier.
There is nothing you will find on XDA to help you

Verizon bootloader?

I asked Verizon and they deleted my question. If I payed off my Verizon Pixel the device belongs to me so under some law they should legally be held to unlock my bootloader. Do they if the device is paid off?
There is no such law and they will not unlock your bootloader.
Kinda funny
That's funny because I found the law on the Verizon website community.verizonwireless.com/thread/778109

No you didn't. You found a law about SIM locking, not bootloader locking. The phone is already SIM unlocked.

And don't forget that this is YOUR problem for buying a phone thru verizon
Before the google pixel went on sale it was publically known and confirmed that verizons version of the pixel would be bootloader locked and was posted, blogged, ridiculed at just about every tech site on the web, you have no one to blame but yourself
I love reading posts like this, I almost have to change my shorts from the entertainment.

So I chatted with Google about this rumors of people trading thier Verizon phone for refurbished Google store versions. This not true do not waste your time. Google refused to send me a different device, stated " if you want to send us your Verizon model for replacement it will be replaced with a Verizon model." Google said if I have Verizon deactivate the phone on the network ie: turn an old phone back on during this process as to keep your Verizon account. Once deactivated phone will be carrier unlocked (phone must be paid off) then when you insert a sim card from another carrier it will make available OEM unlock in developer settings!! Then you can install twrp and reinsert Verizon sim and poof you have unlock bootloader, custom recovery/root. Can anyone please confirm this works. I cannot as my phone is not paid off and Verizon will not deactivate it from there network.

Nonsense. The only way to get your Verizon device to oem unlock is to sell it and buy a Google phone. I don't know how many different ways to say this.

T-Mobile Samsung Note 20 is temporarily unlocked for 30 days, how do I prevent from it being locked again?

Long story short I bought a Note 20 Ultra from the U.S. which the seller advertised as unlocked, but it was locked to T-Mobile when I received it and I'm not able to return the phone. T-Mobile won't help cause the phone isn't paid off.
I tried to click "Permanent unlock" in the menu and it said not eligible, reason code 8. Then I tried temporary unlock and it unlocked the phone for a month.
My question is, is there a way to prevent my phone from being locked again?
If I flash the unlocked Samsung firmware on this, would that prevent it? If not, why? What exactly makes the phone locked again?
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Flashing different firmware will have no effect on your SIM Locked status.
You're options are limited :
1) Pay the balance owed to T-Mobile.
2) Find a SIM Unlocking service that can SIM Unlock your phone. (If you go this route, be sure it's specific to the T-Mobile model).
3) Plead your case again to T-Mobile. They may allow for SIM Unlocking after a period of time, when they eventually write-off the debt owed on the phone.
Otherwise, you're stuck w/using it on T-Mobile or, the MVNOs that use their network.

Thanks. I've tried contacting T-Mobile and said I would pay any sort of fee to get it unlocked, and they keep telling me the original account holder has to call in and I can't do anything about it.
In terms of unlocking it with someone else, I talked to a few people yesterday and they all said the "server is offline".
I did talk to 1 person and they told me "one option by imei is 68 usd in 1-30 days"
I don't understand by imei means... I'm assuming he's saying to change the imei number?

No, that's probably not what the service you looked up meant.
There are some legit services out there that will SIM Unlock your phone, for a fee. They probably need the IMEI on your phone (use your phone's search function to find it) to permanently SIM Unlock your phone.
Changing the IMEI is illegal in a lot of countries & talk of it is expressly forbidden here on XDA.
Simply asking for services that change IMEI's here @ XDA will result in the thread being locked & possible banning of the OP on such threads if such actions do not immediately cease.
If you pursue IMEI changing here @ XDA, the mods will see it & PM you, if you're lucky, you'll get a warning before any bans are put in place.

I'm not pursing an imei change, I was just saying I'm confused as to what he said option by imei.
Do you know how I can find legit services that will SIM unlock the phone? I saw some on eBay, also I think someone recommended unlockboot.com

I'd stay away from eBay for this....
Try this site, it appears to be legit :
T-Mobile Unlock App, Free IMEI Check - CellUnlocker.net
We unlock your T-Mobile phone, and you can use the T-Mobile unlock app. If you're T-Mobile device is locked, we can help. More at CellUnlocker.net
www.cellunlocker.net
If you're unsure of how to proceed, just reach out to their customer service department with your make/model/IMEI,& of course, make sure you specify that it's locked to T-Mobile.

legit unlock code for Tracfone Samsung Galaxy A11

I see so many different sites that offer unlock codes but not 1 free one has worked so far and i see bad reviews for just about all the popular pay sites...
is it possible to unlock this device, without going through the carrier (have to be with them 12 months to get unlocked)
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...
What you are planning to do - taking off the SIM-lock - is illegal, IMO.
MOD ACTION:
@kfg007
It is illegal to remove the sim lock till the device is paid off in full. Please do not seek advice for such services on XDA.
