I installed twrp to my phone to try my hand at customs roms, but upon opening it cannot mount the system. I'd like to know if this is an issue with twrp or the phone itself, has anyone ever had the same issue?

Hi all, some background on what's happening. I have multi-rom installed so i have their version of TWRP. I tried to "swap roms" when I installed the new Lollipop because it worked fine so I wanted to make it my primary. Something wonky happened after that. When I booted into Lollipop now it wouldn't start and it stayed on the "upgrading apps" screen for about half an hr. I rebooted and nothing but bootloops...So i wiped the rom, and flashed it fresh...stuck on "installing zip" for 20 mins so I rebooted of course. NOW, it says "E: unable to mount /system".
However, it did let me flash the rom in the secondary slot and I am back into Lollipop but it won't let me flash specific items such as the kernel needed to run L. Constantly says unable to mount/system in TWRP. Some zips flash, some don't. How can I get this back to normal? I may be able to survive with what I have here but clearly this is not a long term fix. How do I remount system?? Helpppp please!
Hello Everyone. i wiped everything from CWM. Then tried to flash a CM based rom but I couldn't managed to. the problem is i cant mount data, system etc. I flashed twrp recovery to try again but nothing happens still cant mount. I was on 4.2 bootloader. I flashed twrp 2.4.4.0 but still cant mount.
I can only flash official asus rom through download mode. How can i solve my problem ?

I've got a similar problem. I was on twrp 2.7.0.0 and had been running 4.4.4 Crombi for awhile but it started getting really laggy so I decided to just wipe cache and dalvik in recovery. When I rebooted, I noticed the tablet had gone into bootloop which is weird. Anyway, when I booted back to recovery again, I noticed I couldn't mount sdcard or anything else except external. I have tried flashing various twrps and cwms with no luck.
I've been able to NVFlash back all the blobs of the Asus stock 10.6.1.27 and the tablet runs fine but when I boot into recovery, it cannot mount anything. Just the weirdest thing. I guess the good thing is the tablet is working but I'd really like to be able to flash a custom ROM again...
Can anyone shed light on this issue?
Thanks
X
Update: Well...I turned on USB debugging and when I booted into recovery...everything mounted. That is the weirdest thing ever. This issue is closed for me...
I'm having a bit of an issue with my SM-P900. I rooted using Odin 3.9, installed TWRP 2.7, and then tried to install custom rom. The custom room (Link Here) But, I noticed something a bit strange while it was installing, it was unable to mount cache, data, etc, but it showed to be successful so I didn't think anything of it. I tried to boot into it, got past the initial Samsung screen, but then afterwards it was just black. I reflashed TWRP 2.7 but nothing happened. I also tried reflashing a stock rom I found using Odin 3.9 which let my device go past the initial samsung screen and into the second one(the one with the sound) but it just hung there. I booted back into TWRP and found that now only data and storage are unable to mount.
I've been searching all day, and I'm stuck. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?
Hey all,
So hoping to get some assistance as I am struggling a bit and my struggles have me pondering something as well.
My bootloader is unlocked, I have flashed TWRP, the recovery keeps reverting back to the stock Redmi Recovery so each time I want to use TWRP I need to flash it.
1. I noticed that the /data partition has f2fs as the file system, in TWRP data is not always mountable. From the searching I did it was recommended to try repair it via TWRP (does not work for me) or to format it to a different file system and then back to f2fs (this works for me). Although after trying to flash something else or boot into something else and getting back into TWRP I have the same issue again where data cannot be mounted and it is inconvenient to always format it and lose the files.
What can be done to resolve this issue? Would changing it to a different file system prevent this issue from happening, if so which file system would be recommended then?
2. I have been wanting to get the Global ROM on my phone and managed to eventually get the stock Global ROM flashed (downloaded it from MIUI, specifically for the RN7P obviously).
I had to open the archive and delete the compatability file in order to get it to install, otherwise TWRP would give me a treble error of some sort.
When booting up, it allows me to select the language which I leave as English, then the location only has China available for some reason? After selecting that the phone bombs out, the screen goes black for a bit and when it returns to normal it says "Find Device has crashed unexpectedly" and then crashes again and ends up with a black screen and keeps looping like that.
So I have had to flash back to the China ROM, which is quite disappointing. Has anyone successfully flashed from China ROM to Global (India) ROM?
Am I doing something wrong or forgetting to do something?
Your assistance will be appreciated.
TWRP is not official build yet for our RN7P.. Since the bootloader is already unlock, flash it through mi flash tool.. that's it.. that's what I did..
I got the same problem but for my redmi note 7...
the system has been destroyed
Well i was doing the same but i "brick" my mobile.
It appears the message "the system has been destroyed" when i turn on my mobile.
I had tried to install some twrp, install different ROM´s with mi flash but i can´t repair it... some ideas?
Thanks
I've done a bit of digging but I'm on a time crunch, and frankly I don't want to dig myself in a deeper hole.
I was attempting to make a backup of my OnePlus 7 Pro prior to doing an OTA update while preserving root.
I was getting a "failed to mount" and "0mb storage" so I looked into fixes and found this:
How to Fix TWRP Unable to Mount Storage, Internal Storage 0MB - Appuals.com
Some TWRP users, especially those who install custom ROMs, sometimes run into an issue where TWRP will an error that reads “Unable to mount storage”. The
appuals.com
.
I followed this and got to the point where I attempted to change file system from ext4 to ext2 and back again.
After doing this however I got stuck in a bootloop.
I entered TWRP recovery and tried to mount and boot? to system, and now I'm totally stuck on a fastboot loop -- unable to access TWRP.
I have several tools on my laptop saved from the initial root process such as the Tool All In One and the MSM download tool.
I would just like some clear direction to proceed. I'd rather not have to essentially reset my device, as I'm pretty sure all my data is in the device but I think I'm in the wrong partition. I'm just not savvy enough to know how to get it without causing further issues.
Any help would be great. I'm leaving for a 12 hour shift now, so I can't do any more digging on my own.
Thanks in advance.
Lower TWRP version.. is the fix, but.. i dont known anything about the OnePlus serie
