Question Pixel 6a - low sounds - Google Pixel 6a

Volume has been excessively low several times even though all the way up. At first I thought it was adaptive sound, but turning off had no effect. Only restarting corrects it. 3 times I've had to restart to have my volumes increase.

Hmm...the only volume issue I'm aware of from a couple of reviews is that the maxed out volume isn't loud enuff. I haven't taken the time to look into it (with my new (free) Pixel Buds A) but I'd think google wouldfix it soon But ur issue is different...are u running any audio mods like viper's etc.?

if you are on A13 Beta, It's known issue..
I have reported same..

I'm all stock and it's an issue...
bluetooth volume low, speaker vol low, phone vol low... all LOWER than my pixel 4!

Speaker volume increases after using earphones...?

I've got a problem with my Omnia 7. Inexplicably, plugging in headphones causes the speaker volume to be boosted substantially after the headphones are unplugged, with no change in the actual software volume level. I'm not sure whether this is a software problem or what (it certainly wasn't fixed in Mango, at least). Rebooting the phone is the only way I've been able to fix it (ie, reduce the volume to what it was originally).
I've heard of people complaining about the loudness and lack of volume variation in the Omnia, but I'm not sure if this is linked to that somehow.
If someone can test this out it would be great, if only so I can get my phone replaced if it's specific to my device. Just reboot your phone, and observe the loudness of the lock/unlock sounds before and after headphones are inserted and removed. It doesn't need to be tested on the Omnia 7 specifically, though - if it's a software issue it's likely to be present on other devices as well.
TLDR; all speaker sounds, whether that be from music, games, system sounds, etc, are louder after I use earphones, even if the volume number is the same. Rebooting it fixes it. If anyone with any device could test this it would be a great help.
Does no one else have this issue? I would appreciate it if one of the many Samsung Omnia 7 owners could test it, at least.
I just tested it and I dont see any change or boost in volume on my SO7.. does your music auto stop playing when you pull out your headphones?
Maybe I explained it incorrectly, here's a video of it:
youtube.com/watch?v=0g-y0r3Mdqk&feature=youtube_gdata
I sounds louder in reality, but hopefully you can see the increase. Thanks for testing it, though
But yes, the music does stop playing when I remove the earphones. The increase isn't limited to music - it affects all sounds.
I tested it again after seeing your video.. mine remains the same, no increase like in your device..
Infact after watching your video I think the first sound is miffed... after you plug in the earphone and out than the sound it makes is the original sound/volume..

Google Pixel Max Volume Decibels?

Hi guys. I'm wondering if anyone can do a basic check of what their Pixel phone speakers are putting out in Decibels?
Mine doesn't seem very loud. And when I turn it down onlg 2 presses, it seems so very quiet.
Anyway, with volume on full and playing music and using a sound test app, I'm getting a max of 82db. As seen in the attachment.
Just want to confirm what other's may be getting?
???

Speaker volume goes quiet and loud

I'm hoping someone can help me troubleshoot volume issues I'm having on my Nexus 5 running the latest build of LineageOS (24 October at this time). Tell me what to look for in the logs or other troubleshooting steps I can take before taking it in to get the speakers replaced.
I've had this phone since April with no issue. I got it as a refurb off Newegg. Since the beginning of October or so, the speaker volume has been inconsistent. Up until this issue, the sound coming out of the speaker was consistently good: it was loud on high volume and quiet on low volume.
The speaker sound recently started randomly (in that I can't seem to find a pattern), becoming very quiet, even with all the volume sliders turned up to maximum. I'd estimate that the speaker output during these periods at full volume on the phone is about the same as when it's behaving normally and I have the slider down to under 25%. The volume will restore itself, be fine for a while (anywhere from a couple minutes to hours), and then go quiet suddenly, again from anywhere from a couple minutes to hours.
Some notes:
I've ruled out the speaker switching from the bottom speakers to the speaker at the top of the phone where your ear goes when taking a call. The bottom speakers go quiet.
The volume is quiet for the ringer, alarm, media and notifications. Fiddling with these sliders does nothing.
I've wiped the caches from TWRP, rebooting, restarting, powering off and so on. No consistent effects.
Headphones seem unaffected and the volume is normal.
I'm aware that there was a volume issue with Nexus 5s due to a security release back in 2013 or so. I understand that bug was fixed in subsequent releases and, presumably, is in LineageOS. Therefore, I doubt this is related to that.
I've picked through the logs and one thing I'm noticing is that there are ThermalEngine alarms being thrown. is it theoretically possible that, to reduce heat, Android is cutting the volume level?
I'd like to avoid factory resetting the phone, but I can once we eliminate other issues.
I'm reluctant to say that it's a hardware issue because I don't get any distortion from the speakers and, when the speakers go quiet, I don't notice any sound quality degradation. Further, the speakers haven't been getting quieter or louder. However, if all else fails, I'll have to take the phone in to get the speakers replaced.
I'm grateful for any help the community can provide.
With thanks,

Loudspeaker volume decreases even though the volume is actually on full blast.

So basically what happens is as I play a song on any platform may it be spotify or youtube, the volume setting is on max and it plays like normal but then the actual 'volume' of the speaker reduces to barely anything. This also applies to anytime when the speaker is being used during calls as well on Loudspeaker. When I use it through bluetooth it's fine, so I'm guessing it's some software glitch. I also updated some apps a while ago so I figured it was that but no. Even after a factory reset to original settings it didn't work. Same thing.
Play something and it starts loud and clear and then 5 seconds later it slowly reduces the volume and stays low. Also I haven't rooted this phone yet, but if I have to I am willing.

LineageOS 17.1?

So according the the LineageOS website this phone officially supports 17.1, however there doesn't seem to be a thread anywhere for it. The only ones that exist are 16.0 and an unofficial 17.0.
Is there anyone out there who has installed LineageOS 17.1? If so, please let yourself be known. Were there any problems with installation or with the OS itself? Anything you'd think would help me before installation? This is going to be my first time installing LineageOS.
Just did it using the official guide. Updated to latest android 10 beforehand (Version WW-17.1810.2011.183). So far no bugs. Seen lots of people had problems with initial installation and all kinds of words threw around - but it was as smooth as butter for me!
Bugs.
Detrimental
Crashes that seem to happen when fiddling with audio settings; bluetooth seems to be a factor aswell. Can be fixed with a power button + volume down reset. The frequency of these seem to fluctuate; can be anywhere from 0-10 times per week. These crashes don't happen when a sim card isn't in the phone/when aeroplane mode is on.
Minor
The sound settings for this phone are a bit glitchy in general.
"Notification per day" shows - (negative) counts. e.g "-3 notifications per day".
Other
Depreciated
Altering call volume in settings only works when mono audio is turned on - Extremely loud with headphones, moderately quiet without. This? Call volume functions normally when on call. Fixed in one of the LOS nightly updates I guess?
Speaker volume is low in general? Don't think this is the case.
Volume levels aren't consistent? Don't think this is the case.
LineageOS camera app doesn't support 60FPS at all and there isn't a GCam that supports 60FPS while the camera is flipped. Workaround.
Very high pitched sound plays sometimes when using the audio jack to play sound. Pitch changes when I move the phone or wire of the headset. I think this only happens with my headphones that are using a 3.5mm to 2.5mm cable.
Renaming files in the "Files" app require an app restart to show. Not a bug? If it is it's too minor to care about.
Brightness slider has once shown 0% (and it wasn't at 0%) when dragging down the notifications menu (the brightness wasn't actually affected). Too minor to care about and haven't noticed it again.
Volume slider has once shown 0% (and it wasn't at 0%) when adjusting volume (the volume wasn't actually affected). Too minor to care about and haven't noticed it again.
